Did you do a piece with Violet and Kinetix glancing up at a looming Emerald Eye? Someone on Bluesky posted the piece that looked like your style, but when I asked, he couldn't recall the artist. It was originally posted on Twitter, but since we both fled Twitter, there was no way to search. And if it's you, would you care to post on Tumblr -- pretty please?

i really do love zoe's comic design, so i tried to keep its vibe intact. i pushed the suit to look a little bit like a dancer's or figure skater's - something sporty but very stylish and a little bit fancy-looking. the sheer skirt from the original design fits in rlly well with this!

i feel like the asymmetry does a lot to characterize her design more, really selling her as someone who did not start out with her power and is perhaps (lovingly) a bit fucked up. her little tattoo that she had for a while was always kind of noisy to me, so i just freestyled it into something simpler to suit my style lol

the tail was a fun concept too, but i have a personal vendetta against like...human skin colored tails. a big reptile tail fit best with her green color scheme, and keeping the little tuft of hair made it look draconian and therefore a little magical ~

her shoes are purple because her gf is purple <3

Among DC's more infuriating editorial tendencies is a penchant for blowing up characters and continuity and then later bringing back the discarded versions very briefly, either to stomp on them all over again, or just to remind you that the earlier version existed, but you're not allowed to have it anymore. To exemplify the point, here's a scene from LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES #105 where the cutesy reboot Legion's Shrinking Violet encounters the older, butch version of herself from the pre-Zero Hour series.

(The visual parallel between the older Vi and Lightning Lass and the younger Violet comforting Kinetix is just bait — there was nothing to see there.)

Oh you thought I was done for today ? hah no

anyways Kinetix is one of my favorite designs already so drawing him I knew would be fun. I couldn’t quite figure out how to put any K’nex elements into this redesign so I just went Hogwild with the bionicle stuff to the point where I made his whole gimmick part of his Kanohi powers.

Anyways I’ve also got some concept art of what he’d look like fully assembled.

I mostly used Mask of Light concept art as a reference for this drawing. Which I didn’t even know existed before yesterday
