Fanfic writer interview
Tagged by the incomparable @hellofeanor. Thank you, lovely!
How many works do you have on AO3? 65 on AO3 and two... elsewhere. They're from when I was in high school. And it's soon to be 66 because I'm starting a new fic posting today! Oh btw you can find me here!
What’s your total AO3 word count? 946,231. I'm honestly really bummed that my new fic is only going to take me to ~990k.
Your top 5 stories by kudos/likes:
A Room for Rent in the First Estate: a Venom/Eddie/Darcy Lewis monsterfucker/journalism is fun fic. I'm honestly surprised this one is number one, but it is by a LONG margin.
Out for Stars: My Star Wars Reylo fic that's basically... an alternate ending for The Last Jedi (and ultimately alternate Rise of Skywalker).
The Rain'll Be Gone in the Morning: Some Darcy/Loki smut written as a birthday present for a friend that kinda grew legs and ended up with a second chapter.
Whither Must I Wander: Hannigram nonsense with a VERY sad ending because it was supposed to have a sequel that just... never got going properly.
The Closest I Ever Gave: More Hannigram nonsense... now with clothing and shaving kink.
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I definitely try to but I'm awful about it. I will say this... if you want a response from me, asking me a question is a great way to get a response.
What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending? "Whither Must I Wander" far and away has the angstiest ending... again because I was going to do a sequel but that never happened. Also the ending for "The Crucible" (Hannibal/Abigail) because the ending stays in canon sooooo... Otherwise? I don't think I've really written much angst. Most of my drive to write is centered in "fixing" stuff... See "Out for Stars," "Intercalation," "My Love Loves Me," "Widow's Walk" etc.
What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending? Ooh........ I like a happy ending so unlike the angst-ending question, the stable of possibilities is very full. There's my do-over for the end of MCU Endgame at the end of my 200k word long Steve/Nat/Bucky series "Friendship is Unnecessary." The specific fic in the series is "The Girl in the Garden" There's my defect-and-escape fic where I rewrite the ending of the HBO series Chernobyl, "Intercalation." And there's my first fic on AO3... "Keep Doing the News" which was in anticipation of The Newsroom having a sad ending, but I published it anyway even though it didn't because dammit I put a lot of research into that one.
Do you write crossovers? Rarely. It does happen but not often. It's not really my thing.
Have you ever received hate on a fic? Very few times. The one that sticks out the most is on my Hannibal/Abigail fic, which the age stuff squicked a lot of people out. Which... fair. But it's not like it wasn't tagged so... why are you reading it?
Do you write smut? If so, what kind? It is the majority of what I write, yes.
Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not to my knowledge.
Have you ever had a fic translated? Yes! "Widow's Walk" got translated into Polish!
Have you ever co-written a fic before? Not as an adult, but in high school we would do it all the time. I'm too much of a fandom hermit to get involved with collabs.
What’s your all-time favorite ship? Whew... It's like picking a favorite child, because I'm a multi-shipper. Part of the fun of fanfic is getting to imagine all the different possibilities. Steve/Bucky and Steve/Nat are up there... Phil/Melinda in Agents of SHIELD... Hannigram as well... I can't pick.
What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will? The sequel to "Whither Must I Wander." It would basically be a retelling of Silence of the Lambs. I had a lot of cool ideas... but I dunno. I just never got past the "batting the fic around like a cat with a piece of string" phase. And I have a few different ideas for how to wrap up the MCU Infinity Stone arc... and there's the Wanda/Vision fix-it I wanted to write but... I dunno. I could never make it go and now the story's moved on. Plus I'm not really watching the MCU anymore. And there's the sequel fic to the show "Newsroom" about the Ebola outbreak in the 20-teens. I did so much research on that one, but I was never sure how I wanted it to end... or more specifically what I wanted it to say at the end.
What are your writing strengths? I have a very good vocabulary and can give very concise descriptions that still say a lot. I wish words were physical and made of rock candy so I could crunch them in my teeth.
What are your writing weaknesses? Writing action and connecting material (like travel time). Editing usually fixes it, but I really struggle with it on the first draft and it's usually the last part I'm happy with... and even then never truly happy.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic? I don't mind it in others' work... especially if it's translated or obvious what's happening, or meant to be disorienting/an obstruction. I don't do it much at all outside of a pet name in another language or something small like that.
What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to? Ooh. I'm... not sure. I keep thinking one day I'll write something for Astarion in BG3, but... eh? I've never felt the impulse beyond just wanting to pick him up and shake him and mash his wittle head. And I was very into the Gadreel/Sam pairing in Supernatural, but someone was writing a fic that was basically what I wanted so I never wrote for it. Shame they never finished... I can't really think of any others. If I'm fascinated by a pairing, I usually write it.
What’s your favorite fic you’ve written? Oh this is hard. "Friendship is Unnecessary" is over 200k words long and there's a LOT going on in that one... but I think it's a tossup between "Intercalation," my Chernobyl fix-it, which involved getting a literal nuclear physicist to help me write dialogue and teach me about nuclear science because I cannot halfass anything when it comes to complicated metaphors, or "A Room for Rent in the Fourth Estate" which is my Darcy/Eddie/Venom fic which involved a lot of socio-political research to get the setup. And that latter is easily my most popular fic in spite of the MUCH less popular ship. So... I'm proud of that.
Who else wants to participate? @3hobbitsinatrenchcoat @howdidyouallgetinmyroom @hexmeridian and anyone else who wants to participate!

Chapter 25: Girls' Night BTS
I doubt I'll do this for every chapter going forward but y'all waited so patiently for this chapter, I thought I'd drop some Lore(tm)
I definitely wrote the first half pre-concussion aka all in September, but thanks to my brain fog/memory issues, I have no idea where the delineation is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
My OG plan for this chapter DID include all 4 textures (silk gloves, lace, velvet, and leather gloves) but Darcy and Loki kept getting distracted. (I don't blame them. They're both smoking hot)
All of Loki's past lovers are assholes in some way or another and Darcy wants to tase them all (Loki is utterly delighted by this once they get over their confusion)
I struggled SO MUCH with Darcy's kinda possessive dirty talk ("You’re always gonna be this wet for me, aren’t you?") I know it's only one line but askdjgadk As an ace person, it sounds so absurd but it's not like it's an actual expectation, it's just dirty talk <- directed at myself lmao
After the "Now you can dry everything" line, I wrote 4 pages of Pure Lokemo that I had to cut because WHAT? Shit came outta nowhere and didn't fit the tone I wanted at all. It's saved for potential future use but OOF
I had an absolute crisis trying to resolve it without having to ditch 1600+ words. Alas, the only solution was to cut it
(I, too, almost forgot about the buttplug, whoops)
I overthought Loki becoming overstimulated SO MUCH you have no idea but in the end, I went with the flow
help, pouting Loki is Too Cute, what a sweetie, AUGH
"She looked morosely at Darcy’s breasts." Possibly my favourite line 🤣 It just felt so 'Loki'
The languages Loki speaks are all from places the Vikings visited/invaded/traded with
Darcy speaking Farsi is canon-esque (from the Thor: The Dark World Junior Novelization)
Timothy Dalton is tall, (was) dark haired and has green eyes, and his imdb page describes him as a "swashbuckling, classically trained Shakespearean actor". No idea why Darcy would be attracted to him. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I always wanted Darcy and Loki to have a frank conversation about how Loki's shapeshifting works because a) there's no canon explanation (...or evidence of it) and b) who wouldn't be curious?? But I wanted Darcy to treat it as carefully and respectfully as possible. She's not indifferent to Loki's genderfluid presentations but she's also aware that it's ultimately not about her.
Darcy being turned on by Loki casually shifting between genders during their convo was inspired by discord friend also finding it hot af rofl (plus it makes sense to her character)
biological determinism is the asinine "belief that human behaviour is directly controlled by an individual's genes or some component of their physiology, generally at the expense of the role of the environment" (wiki). Darcy shares my opinion, because it's a sexist af idea
I have lots of Thoughts (tm) about magically genderfluid/shapeshifting Loki and the affect of hormones like testosterone and estrogen/progesterone. Ask me about 'em
Darcy is soooooo down with different genital combinations b/c she is, at heart, a monster fucker (Loki's an alien, c'mon)
Loki is even more not in love with her after this convo

Title: Winter's Frost Chapter: 12/? Fandom: MCU Rating: R to be on the safe side Pairing: Loki/Bucky Summary: Loki never told anyone the real reason he became so obsessed with Midgard. Much better to let them think he wanted to hurt his brother than draw their attention to the one thing in the universe that makes the God of Mischief truly vulnerable.
WARNINGS: nothing, really. This chapter's pretty tame Notes: I almost had Loki bang Darcy. XD almost. The temptation was so strong lol
"You need to go." Darcy's voice was oddly gentle as she traced little invisible patterns across the back of Loki's pale hand. Lacing her fingers with his, she murmured, "Absolutely everyone who's a danger to your little girl is going to come after you, and I've got a feeling you're way too tired to use whatever nifty little magic tricks might normally be up your sleeves, here."
He nodded, glancing at the door as if someone was going to come bursting through it at that very second. "I'm exhausted," he admitted with a wry twist of his lips that was supposed to be a smile. "It's been a long year."
Eira had fallen asleep in his lap. Delicately lifting her limp little body and shifting her into Darcy's waiting arms was almost physically painful. Darcy smiled, cradling the little girl against her shoulder and rocking her when she started to stir.
"Thank you, Darcy," Loki whispered as he stood, reaching out to stroke his daughter's soft black hair one last time, "for being so good to her."
"It hasn't been easy hiding her; Jane wanted me to come with her to Australia but I told her it was too short-notice."
"I'm sorry," he told her softly but quite sincerely. "We were hostages and there was no time to plan-"
"Loki?" He stopped and looked at her, unnerved by how direct her cool blue gaze was. "Why me? What made you think to send her here? You don't even know me."
This time he managed the ironic smile he was trying for. "That's why. She's only safe somewhere no one would think to look for her. And I trust you, my dear." When she shook her head and opened her mouth to ask why, he cut her off with a wave of his hand. "When I was watching my brother last year, I saw how fiercely you protected your friends. Gods were warring in your back yard, and you had the good sense to stay the hell out of the way."
"I tazed one of them," she reminded him, proud.
Loki chuckled. "Yes. Thank you for that. Sadly I missed it, but even knowing it happened, well... That's why I like you."
"That's how it goes." She grinned. "You freak me out, you meet the business end of my taser."
"I'm not sure that will always serve you so well, but please don't lose that instinct." As he turned toward the door, he paused and glanced back at her over his shoulder. "And thank you, for not using it on me."
With an odd little half-shrug as she did her best to avoid waking the sleeping demi goddess on her other shoulder, she said, "You literally dropped out of nowhere in the middle of my house. I wasn't sure it would affect you."
He laughed at that, and there was a long, awkward silence until Darcy shook her head and pointed at the door. "Alright, go! Cuz you're freakin' hot, and it feels like we're playing House, here. It's getting weird. Also, that whole... You being here puts me and your daughter in mortal danger thing. Come back when there aren't as many people with superpowers trying to kill you, okay?"
"If I wait for that day, I may never get her back," he pointed out. He'd meant it as a joke, but the sad fact was, it was true. Then he thought of Bucky, and he added, "The best I may be able to do is get backup."
As he thanked her and finally got around to opening the door, Darcy called out, "Hey, Loki?" She stood and stared him down, arms curled protectively around Eira's peacefully sleeping form. "I know you're her mother, but whether I wanted to be or not, I've been her mom for a year and I love this little worm. She's not leaving my side until I know for sure you're not gonna get her killed or deeply traumatized."
"Perhaps her father and I could simply move in here."
"Get out."
Laughing, he waved and finally left. He was still exhausted and aching all over, but at least his ears had stopped ringing and he was no longer seeing double. He wanted to say that Banner would pay for what he'd done, but as angry as he was, Loki wasn't stupid enough to think he could actually kill the beast, even at full power.
Using what little energy he had left, he teleported in a few random directions just to create as confusing a trail as possible. Then he landed in Siberia, buried himself under a snow bank – blessed his Jotun heritage for the first time since discovering it, since at least he wasn't cold – and relaxed his desperate death grip on consciousness.
Just before he passed out, he closed his eyes and whispered, "Heimdall, I know you can hear me. I know you know where I am. What I don't know is if you know or care what brought me here. If you do... Tell no one where to find me. I'm too tired for another fight."
He wasn't expecting an answer, so the shock nearly jolted him awake when he heard a familiar deep voice in his ear. "Rest, my Prince. If Odin asks, I must tell him. You will need your strength." There was a soft chuckle, and then Heimdall quipped, "Not your usual opulence, I see. Too tired to conjure a palace of ice?"
"I'm too tired to even turn the snow around me into an igloo," Loki grumbled, fidgeting. The cold didn't bother him, but a makeshift cave of snow didn't exactly make for the softest of beds. Thankfully, his bone-weariness caught up to him, and he was unconscious only a few seconds later.
He wasn't sure how much time had passed when he woke, but aside from a few cramped muscles from sleeping curled up on the ground, he felt fine. Bruises healed, mind sharp and alert, he cloaked himself and stood, shaking off the snow. Ugh. He'd slept in his leather armor. With a flick of his wrist, he conjured a clean, far more comfortable outfit and glanced around.
So, this was Siberia. Somewhere in this frozen wasteland was the bunker where HYDRA stored Bucky until they needed him. After all Loki had been through in the past few years, and all Bucky had suffered for decades, there was no way he was leaving this place without his beloved. And he sure as hell wasn't leaving without ensuring that every single HYDRA operative in the area, down to the bloody janitor, was dead. He'd deal with the ones lurking in SHIELD's ranks later.
"You know," came Heimdall's amused, rumbling voice in his ear again, "if you told your brother why you're there, what you've been fighting for all this time, you might just have an ally for once."
Loki stopped dead in his tracks. "You know-"
"About James Barnes, yes. You're very cunning, Loki, you always have been. But you're easily distracted when he's near." There was a pause, and then the all-seeing watcher sounded distinctly uncomfortable. "I learned rather quickly when to look away."
"Well, thank you for that, I suppose," he grumbled, hands on his hips. "And just what is it you think that oaf can accomplish that I can't do more easily without him underfoot?"
A low chuckle made his skin crawl, just for how near it seemed to be coming from. He hadn't actually known Heimdall could communicate telepathically like this; it was unsettling. Then Heimdall said four words that made him forget his discomfort, and his distaste for Thor's company:
"Burn it all down."

I kind of want to write a fic where Odin is about to banish Thor and Loki's watching it go down and the guilt is eating at him and right before Thor gets yeeted through the Bifrost, Loki yells, "IT WAS ME!" and, because that's actually words (and interesting words at that), Odin actually stops what he's doing to listen instead of just yelling a keyboard smash out loud, and Loki explains that he manipulated Thor into attacking Jotunheim, but it was never supposed to get that far and he's very sorry and it will never happen again. and he thinks he's mitigating the damage but instead Odin just banishes him instead (and he'd banish Thor too but he needs someone to take the throne and tbh what would it say about him as a dad if he has to banish all three of his kids?)
so then Loki ends up getting hit by Jane's car, except he's not an idiot so he doesn't run around screaming at the sky about being hammered and Darcy never has to taze him so he never ends up in the hospital so they're off to a good start already.
and they get to talking (and they're all very confused and operating under completely different understandings of the situation) and Loki figures out he's in Midgard entirely because they don't know what the Nine Realms are and Midgard is the only realm stupid enough not to know that. Jane mentions that they're scientists and Loki just kinda scoffs at that because scientists on Midgard are like childrens' tutors in Asgard, and Jane is equally offended and impressed.
and I choose to think that Odin never takes Loki's magic away the way he did to Thor's because he can't take it away. if he could, he would've done that before they threw him in the dungeon in TDW. so Loki still has his magic so it's pretty easy to convince them that he's a god (and honestly they're more convinced than he is because he just found out that he might possibly be Jotun?)
so they end up taking Loki with them (against Selvig's better judgment) because he sounds like a know-it-all and he ends up pretty much being a know-it-all so that works well for Jane. and actually it kinda maybe works too well? because she starts to fall in love with him and surprise, it's a Lokane fic and he starts to fall for her and they have babies and live happily ever after!
no jk idk what would happen but I'm thinking Mjolnir would still be out there so maybe Loki would go to check it out and he'd probably have better luck with it because he's magic so it's pretty easy to get everyone out of his way but he's definitely not worthy so he can't wield it but it does get them both tangled up with SHIELD probably?
idk apparently I can only thing of Lokane fic ideas if they have no ending so that's all I got lmao
#it feels poetic tbh that my first lokane fic was in the TVA where we last saw Loki#and that this second Lokane fic would be in Thor where we first saw Loki#(and also that the other fic i have with them (platonically) is after Thor 4 where we last see Jane)#i honestly might write this#i shouldn't like if I'm gonna start something new it should be my Loki/Wanda HYDRA fic because I've been thinking about it for months#but i kinda wanna write this one#maybe I'll just start it tonight and maybe write some tomorrow and then throw it in my folder of abandoned wips idk#lokane#also i must add that my other lokane fic also was just a beginning premise and no ending (although i do have one more chapter of it i need#to write and i just CAN'T so i have no excuse to not have one last chapter before i give up)#so this is very much a trend for me lmao#lokane fics are unfinishable i fear </3#fic idea?#back on my bullshit

A Crown of Frost (Snippets)
Let’s be clear, this is the real reason I’m back on this site. I have begun chaos and I refuse to post it yet, so instead I must scream into a void as I shake everything around me violently.
This idea has been burning in my head for a little bit and I am utterly obsessed with Jotun Loki at the moment (which is the whole point of The Frozen Branch series). So what did I do? I decided to play a little “Everyone Loves Loki!” ... Sort of.
Let’s be honest, I’ve been around reading fic absently for years before I even made an Ao3 account. At the time I looked at my past writings and went “oh dear god, no, I should never write fanfiction again” so that took a good five-ish years to get over. But I’ve seen a lot of Loki’s changes through fandom, particularly with regards to ships, and man! I love ships! I love all the ships! So many ships!!
I haven’t even decided how this one will end, frankly. But I have a couple little snippets from a couple of different chapters to share, since I’m planning to break it down... sort of by ship.
Not all of the ships involved have snippets for sharing, yet, so this isn’t all there is to expect. ❤
Below the cut for snippets!
Intro Snippet:
On the branch of frost was born the snowflake of Jotunheim, with skin the colour of Midgard's daylight skies and hair darker than the coals of Muspelheim.
From a realm known for its unforgiving climate and brutal people emerged whispers of a beauty unrivalled in all the realms - and naturally, such a thing was coveted. For many years the whispers grew, truths and fictions weaving into a tapestry of an idea.
So when it was announced that the heir to the throne of Jotunheim - the very tapestry woven into the minds of the nine realms - would be meeting with potential suitors from across the realms, it was no surprise to find each realm well represented.
(A/N: This fic, as you may have noticed, began with intentions of being a fairytale. And... then I added Darcy and it went off the rails really quickly. I love you, Darcy.)
Darcy and the Giant Snippet:
"Alright, lay it on me. What are you looking for here? There's some stuff going on, and you kinda called three of them out about not loving you or something so… what's the political situation?"
"Thor is the biggest political situation." Loptr sipped their drink, looking thoughtfully at it.
"Oh yeah, big guy, gorgeous hair? Oh who am I kidding, everyone has gorgeous hair here…"
“You would consider Thor to be… big?” Loptr responded with clear confusion.
“Right, talking to a giant. Duh.”
(AN: When you’re the human in a land of non-humans, things get kind of weird. And Darcy didn’t bring a shovel to this snowy world.)
Thor’s Grand Proposal Snippet:
“I meant what I said before. I want peace between our people, Your Highness. We’ve been in conflict as long as both of us have been alive. For the sake of our people, and our children.”
“That isn’t what I asked,” Loptr chuckled, their lips quirking upwards. “I understand what you want from marriage. But what do you want from me, Prince Thor? And what do you require from a spouse?”
“Oh, yes of course!” Sitting back as food was placed in front of him, Thor rubbed at his leg under the table briefly in an attempt to reorient himself. “I require a bride if only to mother children - though, I believe-”
Before he could even finish speaking, the figure across the table shifted some in shape, chest filling out and a somewhat more feminine curl of hair managing to fall over her shoulders.
"Yes, I do believe I can fulfil that purpose just fine."
(A/N: I love Thor a lot, and Thorki is about as classic as Loki ships get! But oh gosh, I’m not used to writing this big softie. I’m getting some practice in elsewhere, and hopefully this whole segment will tighten up better!)
Tony’s Adventures in Bartending Snippet:
“You can just call me Tony. Anthony is a little overly formal, don’t you think?”
“Says the one who keeps calling me ‘Your Highness’.”
He tilted his head at the other before Loptr snagged his drink right out from under him, taking a sip. He sat up, giving the heir a surprised look, before smirking.
“Okay. Point. Am I getting that glass back?”
“No. You were going to bartend for me, Tony. And you may call me Loki when we are alone.”
Well, that was another surprise. Shrugging, he got to his feet and made his way around the bar, bowing teasingly.
“As you wish, Loki.”
(A/N: Hello, I love them friends. Any time Loki and Tony over in Collared start hurting my heart, I pop back over to this segment because this is the energy I love from these two. I feast.)
The Secrets Stephen Seeks Snippet:
"You seek a spouse to fill a void in your soul, Stephen?"
"A spouse?" Stephen leaned forward in his seat to look at Loptr, watching them intently. "I didn't come seeking a spouse. I came seeking you, Loki."
Loptr looked slightly taken aback by that and the sorcerer couldn't help but smile softly.
"You came seeking the rumours," Loptr responded, collecting themself again.
"Mmm, yes. But not the rumours of Loptr. As you've pointed out so astutely, I seek knowledge in all things. What need do I have for beauty and power?"
(A/N: Oh. Yeah. The ship that inspired me to finally pick up an Ao3 account and WRITE. Working on both IronFrost and StrangeFrost separately in one fic has been fun, it feels like it really breaks down what I love about IronStrangeFrost!
But this is all I’ve got for you for blips for now. Back to trying to finish up the next chapter of Collared, no more procrastinating... probably.)

Re: this post from @skittylight and Stucky vs Sambucky
I chose to make a new post because I wanted to go deeper into my thoughts (ie, that no one cares about) and so keep skittylight's post light-hearted.
I always thought stucky would be the hill I'll die on. I mean, it's true that at its core, shipping is for fun, especially with pairing like Tony/Loki. Content speaking, they don't really share much screen time. And let's not talk about Darcy/Bucky. I don't read fics about crack ships but I enjoy seeing the arts or the headcanons just for the thought about all the possibilities. I shipped Stony for a while, it was fun. But stucky hit very differently. I became kinda obsessed with the idea of it becoming canon. We all crave good rep and I thought that was it: 3 whole movies, that's plenty enough to warrant a kiss, right? Right?
Meanwhile I feel uncomfortable every time I think about sambucky and when I say think I mean kissing, getting married, just being a couple (very much like wandavision actually). But when I see the art, when I see the canon, it just feels right, obvious even. Now, part of my discomfort is because Sam has always been a side character in my stucky stories so really, it feels weird putting him in place of Steve.
Which might just be the point.
In the notes in skittylight's post, people are saying that MCU Steve is 100% straight. (Sidenote: same in the comics; I don't quite ship stucky in the comics because the way Steve acts in a romantic relationship is just... too straight.) And there's something I've been saying since I got here and yet hadn't fully comprehended myself until now: that if you replace Bucky with a woman, the love story in the 3 Cap movies is obvious. Which means it's a straight love story.
That's why it feels weird for me to imagine Sam instead of Steve! Because, be it romantically or platonically, Sam and Bucky's relationship in Tfatws is nowhere near a straight love story! Remember when I say I picture them in a wandavision kind of couple? Look at the pic again. Tell me that if you are queer you didn't watch WandaVision with the thought "oh thank God, at least the Straights are OK in this one."
So tl;dr: I think my point is, Bucky had a crush on Steve but it was unrequited love (which explains Steve's dick move at the end of Endgame) and now he's crushing again but this time, not on his straight friend. Also: Stucky is how straight audience views gay relationships and Sambucky how gay relationships actually work.

Hey! I absolutely love all of your Marvel fics. Have you watched or do you plan on watching The Falcon and the Winter Soldier or any of the other new Marvel shows? Do you have any thoughts on them?
Thank you! It's so nice to have an ask about these, my favorite fics!!!
I have watched WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. I have started Loki, but I'm waiting for my friend to come back so we can finish the rest.
WandaVision: Loved the premise. Felt they moved into explaining the premise too simplistically and easily. I enjoy dense shows; I don't mind having to guess a bit, and I felt a little talked-down-to by how simplistic this one got. Loved the Pietro retcon, as I loved Quicksilver in the X-Men movies approximately 10,000 times better than Quicksilver in AoU. Feel like they're opening up a multiverse, which I enjoy, though I do NOT want X-Men in MCU. I have always loved X-Men as a self-contained universe, AKA the 90s cartoon, and they really make no sense combined with everyone else. Loved Agatha until It Was Agatha All Along, and then the whole show turned into this very campy silly thing. Feel like they're opening up the idea of magic, which I hate. The entire MCU up to this point is premised around science; that's what my fics were about; that's what I enjoyed; this kind of magic is silly. Always love Darcy Lewis, always love James Woo in anything he's in. Sad about Monica's mother, do not know Rambeau from comics, but interested in the arc. Loved the Lewis/Woo/Rambeau team up. A bit disappointed in character growth for Vision, who's always been pretty boring even though I do love Vision in Earth's Mightiest Heroes and also love Paul Bettany. Pretty happy with character growth for Wanda, even though I still think magic is stupid.
Falcon and Winter Soldier: What a confused show. What a show struggling with wanting to say attractively progressive things about race and imperialism and fascism and terrorism and capitalism while also being a show made by Disney, the most capitalist and imperialist of them all. Like if this show could have been made by an independent, maybe it could have actually said something about the concepts it tries to tackle. Instead it leaves a gross taste in my mouth. I'm talking specifically about the Flag Smashers. They did handle black Captain America with more care and nuance than I expected; I am glad they had at least one black voice saying that a black Captain America is a betrayal, and at least one other black voice saying that not having black Captain America is also a betrayal. They could have done more but I was still happy they did it. Also was super happy about Sam's speech to the Senator at the end, even though it felt a little too little too late (for the show, not Sam).
Speaking of too little too late, Sam had this one very good conversation with Bucky while they're throwing shields at trees about trauma and grief. Wasn't Sam a guidance counselor for vets? Why weren't similar conversations the whole arc for Sam/Bucky, rather than this cooked up animosity that seems to be purely for laughs. Sam and Bucky have a LOT of chemistry when they're dealing with their pasts together and building boats (that was my favorite scene), but I didn't buy their stupid bickering at all.
Part of it is I just never got the arc I wanted for Bucky. Civil War was such a mess. The third Captain America movie should have been a Captain America movie rather than that disaster. Then we could have had a real and solid arc for Bucky, in which we really understand his trajectory toward recovery. This was the only piece of media since The Winter Soldier that treated his trauma as real, but, like, he's already grown so much by then that it just made me feel the arc was uneven. I do feel bad because I just don't think Sebastian Stan is that good of an actor. He is very very good at being sad and gay (cf Political Animals, Kings, The Winter Soldier), but he is not super at comedic timing. It kinda falls flat against Anthony Mackie's superb timing. Idk.

Headcanons for being Jane Foster’s child
Jane Foster x child!reader
Thor Odinson x Foster!child!reader
warnings:
a/n: no not a foster child, jane foster’s child 😌 also im so super glad you liked those!!! hope these are just as good!!! and im genuinely so sorry these took so long
prompt: anonymous: “Hey! I just read the Tony Stark x Potts!child!reader HC and I loved it! Would you do the same but with Thor and Jane? ❤️”
no babysitter = go to work with mom
dr. selvig gave you a rubik’s cube to keep you entertained
“fuck that! here, y/n, you can play my DS” -darcy
“can you not swear in front of my child?” -jane
you thought tonight would be boring, but then your mom and darcy collectively hit a homeless guy with a car!
“holy crap, we’re all going to jail!” -you
“don’t say ‘crap,’ y/n! we need to get him to a hospital!” -jane
ngl this dude was kinda funky
darcy used her taser and your mom covered your eyes, but you still peaked ;)
ride to the hospital
“don’t touch him, y/n”
“sorry, doc”
and the very next day you guys stole him 💕
“mr. thor, where are you from?”
“i am from asgard! it is much different from this realm, but your’s is adequate, i suppose”
“thanks?”
you could see the way your mom looked at him, though
he ate all the pop tarts >:(
she gave thor her ex boyfriends clothes
“yeah, donald was a real ass—” -you
“don’t say ‘ass.’ darcy curses too much” -jane
“sorry, mom...anyways, donald forgot to pick me up from soccer practice like, a dozen times. he sucked” -you
“this ‘donald’ doesn’t seem like a very good man...also, what is ‘soccer?’” -thor
you grabbed a soccer ball and tried to show him how to play but there was some other stuff the *scientists* had to take care of
you were a regular at izzy’s diner (well, mom was) and they always made you cute pancakes in different shapes!!
“ah, it’s a smiley face! that’s adorable!” -thor
“yeah! they like to surprise me whenever i come in. they’re pretty awesome” -you
*your mom literally beaming at how good thor is with you already*
you and thor were drawing on paper placemats
and then he broke a glass and you started giggling hdhshshs
but he had to leave
“no, thor, please don’t go!”
“i hope to meet you again one day, little one. hopefully fate sees it through”
:((((
no time to be sad bc ur mom’s lab got hijacked by the government
“hey, no fair! that’s my diary!” -you
“sorry, kid. there are constellation drawings we have to observe” -coulson
“aw, you draw constellations? wait, not now. you can’t just take all our stuff. especially that! that belongs to a child!” -jane
“sic ‘em, y/n!” -darcy
“don’t listen to darcy, y/n” -selvig
chilling in the trailer and missing thor bc he was the most interesting thing to happen to you and your mom in a while
and you wanted her to be happy even tho he was kind of crazy
“hey, mom? do you want to watch the stars tonight like we used to do? we could make s’mores?”
“that sounds like a great idea, baby! i’ve gotta go take care of some science stuff, so i’ll pick up some s’mores stuff while i’m out. love you!”
yeah she went to go see thor and he kinda got arrested but your mom came back home so you could watch the stars!
“so, do you like thor?” -you
“what? what makes you say that?” -jane
“it’s cool if you do, i think he’s awesome. a little weird, but at least he’s nice”
then thor and selvig came home and selvig was drunk as a skunk
*poking him while he giggles and tells you about thor*
“i wish your grandfather could have met that guy! he would have loved him...i wish you met your grandfather, too” -selvig
thor inviting you back outside
“i’d like you to teach me more about this ‘soccer’”
by the time you guys were done, it was 3am and you were too pumped to go to sleep
so thor told you stories of his home and battle and family
you didn’t want him to stop, you were fascinated by it all
and uhhhh yeah then earth kinda had some vikings show up
they told you that you’d “make a fine warrior one day”
and then yall got attacked by a ????? a what??? a destroyer???????
“get y/n out of here now! they shouldn’t have to see this!” -thor
you were still nearby and saw thor become thor again
after he was done fighting the destroyer, you ran to give him a hug
“that was awesome! can i hold your hammer?”
“maybe someday, little one”
then you didn’t see him for 2 years
which upset your mom a good bit, you had to help her through that episode. lots of sitting on the couch and eating ice cream together talking about how he wasn’t worth her time even tho you missed him too
but he came back! and then your mom sent everything flying bc she had an “infinity stone” inside her and thor took you two to asgard
“y/n! you’ve grown so much, i almost didn’t recognize you!” -thor
tbh you really digged the outfit they gave you, but also you were on another planet? thor insisted on giving you a tour (by flying you around)
“i do hope you’re having fun, little one!”
worrying about your mom simultaneously bc you overheard she was sick
but asgard got attacked and you and jane were confined to a room in the palace, which sucked because you wanted to see it all
but thor sent guards to bring you anything to keep you entertained
“maybe we’ll skip the mace for now, thank you” -jane
after several events that count as child endangerment, this chapter came to an end and your mom and thor finally made it official
loki called you a rodent and then saved your life so you were kinda iffy about him
about a year or two later, your mom had to travel a great deal in order to get some work done, so you were left in the care of thor, who took you to avengers tower
“oh, my girlfriend’s child is an angel! and they’re so intelligent, just like their mother!” -thor gushing to other partygoers
“yeah, thor, your ‘angel’ is sneaking drinks from the elderly” -tony
*sipping his beer* “they’re a growing teenager”
you did have an amazing time interacting with the avengers
and once they tried grabbing the hammer, you knew you had to get in on it (but you failed like the rest)
“don’t worry, my y/n, you have to be eighteen years of age to be able to lift mjölnir!” -thor
“oh, that makes sense!” -you, while thor aggressively shakes his head at the other avengers. he just wanted to make sure you didn’t feel bad you weren’t worthy yet :(
more child endangerment but really what did you expect?
thor went off world and your mom split it off w him but you did have his email so you were still in contact with him
swearing you saw odin on the street once or twice (fast forward)
and then your mom dusted and thor found you as soon as he possibly could, it was so good to see him
he took you in since you were alone now, you moved to new asgard and became prince(ss) of the new land by relation?? makes sense right
basically you and valkyrie made all the calls while thor grieved for years
but he still took care of you
“y/n, would you like to play video games with me? i think it may be a good bonding experience, what do you say?” -thor
“duh!”
uncle korg made you help him with fortnite while thor was asleep
you wished to wield stormbreaker one day
showing thor earth media! his favorite star wars character is r2-d2 dont ask why
he taught you asgardian recipes and you taught him...earth recipes?
when he was drunk he’d ramble on about his childhood and battle and enemies and jane and loki and hela and frigga and literally anything that came to mind
“y/n, could you please get me a beer? and get one for yourself, too” -thor
valkyrie most definitely gave you some battle training so you you blow off some steam, you were glad she taught you how to fight like a true warrior
thor wanted to teach you battle tactics so you could fight alongside him, but he never got around to it
a raccoon and bruce banner visited later on, proposing a way to get your family back, thor was an emotional wreck
his debriefing on the reality stone was tense when he started crying about your mom and everyone stared at you
“hey, don’t look at me. i don’t control the god, i just keep him company”
ending up waiting 1 second for the avengers to come back from their mission, resulting in you being stuck in the middle of a very heavy battle
“y/n, get out of here!” -thor
“don’t worry, thor! valkyrie taught me a few moves!”
“you make me incredibly proud, little one!”
“i’m not so little anymore, am i?”
“you will always be my little one, y/n. blood or not, that will not change!”
victory, but at what cost? it was a rough ride, you needed to get patched up, but your mom was finally home and thor...he decided it was time to leave earth again
“don’t worry, my y/n. i will see you again.” *tearing up* “i’m so glad i got the pleasure of raising you these past few years. i love you dearly, now go be with your mother”
you straight up wanted to bawl your eyes out right there
“well, y/n, you’re next in line for the throne of new asgard. what is your first command?” -valkyrie
“actually, i think you’d make a much better ruler than me. i’ve got to spend some time with my mother now that she’s home”
“you’re so much like him, you know that?”
staying with your mother, who was diagnosed with cancer not long after returning from the soul stone (a/n: jane getting cancer is canon in the comics and confirmed for thor 4)
“i missed five years of your life and now i’m sick, that’s just our luck, isn’t it?” -jane
she was understandably upset, but she also felt guilty
“mom, don’t beat yourself up. everything is okay, we’re still together right now. i won’t be going anywhere, i promise”

The next chapter of I Choose You (AO3) is up!
Chapter Six: Crush
Darcy woke to the sound of her phone ringing. Groaning, she reached out to grab it and accept the call without opening her eyes. “Unless a world is ending, whatever it is can wait until I’ve had a few more hours of sleep,” she muttered.
“It’s noon, Darcy,” Jane said patiently. “You said you were going to bed eight hours ago. What were you doing if not sleeping?”
That got her to open her eyes. “Thinking about Tall, Goth, and Handsome.” Despite being so desperately sleepy, she couldn’t help a smile at the thought of Stephen.
Jane let out an exasperated sigh. “Please tell me you don’t mean Loki.”
Darcy smirked. “I said ‘Tall, Goth, and Handsome,’ not ‘Tall, Goth, Handsome, and Despotic.’ No, this is … someone else.”
“A crush?”
She stalled for time by sitting up and arranging the pillows so she could lean back. “Um … yes?”
Her best friend’s eyeroll was practically audible. “Name?”
Darcy grinned. “Stephen with a P-H, as in ‘pretty hot.’” She could hear Jane typing. “Please tell me you’re not looking him up.”
“Not without a surname.”
She rolled her eyes fondly. At least it’s proof she cares. “Strange.”
“Looking out for you isn’t strange.”
“No, I mean his last name is Strange.”
Another sigh. “Darcy, I’m dating a Norse god, I’ve seen plenty of strange names.”
“No, S-T-R-A-N-G-E is his name.” I bet he goes through this all the time.
“Oh.” More typing. “Age?”
“Not sure. Early forties, maybe?” Give or take a few centuries.
“Darcy…”
“What? I’m in my thirties. Nothing wrong with liking a guy in the next age bracket.”
“No, I mean you don’t know how old he is?”
“The subject hasn’t come up yet.” We haven’t exactly had time for details.
Jane sighed again. “What subjects have come up?”
“He’s a former neurosurgeon.”
There was a pause. “Please tell me the next thing you’re going to say isn’t, ‘He’s good with his hands.’”
Darcy smiled a bit. “I wouldn’t know.” But I can imagine.
“That’s something, at least.” More typing. “I’m not finding anything on him.”
“Do I want to know where you’re looking?”
“Agt. Hill gave me access to SHIELD’s database for emergencies.”
“Me having a crush on a guy isn’t- Okay, yeah, this probably counts.”
“Is he in Witness Protection?”
“What? No. He’s not in hiding, he’s, well, he’s not from around here.”
“Darcy…”
“By ‘here,’ I mean this universe.”
“You mean-”
“Yeah, I’m crushing on a guy from an alternate universe.”
“I insist on meeting him. I should be at your place in forty-five minutes, can you ask him to come over?”
“That’s the thing – he kinda, sorta-”
“‘Kinda, sorta’ what, Darcy?”
“Lives here? In my apartment, I mean.”
There was a beat. “I’ll be there in thirty minutes.”
Darcy sighed. “Okay. Just … go easy on him?”
“Not a chance – I have to make sure he’s 1) not dangerous and 2) good enough for my best friend.”
“Thor’s taken.”
“I mean you.”
“Oh, right. Okay, I’ll put the coffee on.”
“Bless you. See you soon.”
Without enough time for a shower, she simply got up and put on her slippers before heading to the bathroom then the kitchen. Stephen wasn’t there, so she backtracked to the guestroom door then knocked lightly. “Stephen?”
*
Stephen cracked open one eye then groaned quietly. While his body had gotten the rest it needed, his mind had decided to tease him with the sweetest, most romantic dream he’d had in years and he didn’t want it to end. Just me and Darcy, slow-dancing in the kitchen, in love and- His eyes widened as the realization hit him. Married. Yeah, it’ll never happen. I would’ve married Christine eventually, when both of us were ready for it, but we were so focused on our careers and living in the present that we didn’t talk much about the future.
Then there’s the fact that Darcy and I together wouldn’t be a good idea, however you look at it. Even though she’s perfect, and perfect for me.
He imagined Christine’s warm voice in his head. You and I had our happiness, Stephen. Don’t let another chance slip through your fingers.
There was a knock on the door and he realized that’s what had woken him. “Stephen?” Darcy asked. “You up? I hope so because we’re going to have company in-” there was a pause “-twenty-five minutes.”
Curiosity winning out over his desire to get back to the dream despite his reservations, he got up then pulled on his robe and opened the door, unable to keep a smile off his face when he saw her. “Who’s coming and how dressed do I need to get?”
“Dr. Jane Foster.”
“Your ‘mentor and bestie?’”
Darcy grinned. “That’s the one. I, um, kinda told her about you and she wants to make sure you’re on the up and up.”
Stephen raised an eyebrow. “What, exactly, did you tell her?”
“That you’re from an alternate universe, you’re a former neurosurgeon, and you’re living here with me. I maaay have mentioned your goth hotness, but I swear, I didn’t tell her that you’re a sorcerer and I didn’t say anything about what happened to your home universe.”
He couldn’t help a smile, Darcy was that adorable. “I see. Let’s keep all that to ourselves for now. The last thing we need is to have her running away screaming.”
“Right. So, to answer the second part of the question,” she looked him over with decided interest in her eyes, “jeans and a tee are fine.”
Stephen smirked as he took in her pajamas. “What about you? Not that you don’t look good in blue.”
Darcy smirked. “Flatterer. Jane’s used to seeing me in my pjs.”
“And I should get dressed so she doesn’t get the wrong idea about us.”
“No fear of that,” she muttered, “but it wouldn’t hurt. I’ll get the coffee going and figure out breakfast.”
“I’ll eat anything.”
She grinned. “That I don’t doubt.” She headed down the hall and he chuckled as he shut the door again. You’re making it very hard to keep my distance, Dr. Darcy Lewis.
*
Jane didn’t know what to expect when she walked into Darcy’s kitchen but a tall, lanky, gorgeous man who looked like he just walked off the set of a vampire movie wasn’t it. All he needs is a pair of fangs.
He smiled at her and Jane had a feeling she knew why Darcy had a crush. “You must be Dr. Foster.” He held out his hand. “Dr. Stephen Strange.”
She smiled a bit as she shook it. “Please, call me Jane.”
“Only if you call me Stephen.”
“It’s a deal.” She raised an eyebrow. “Can I ask what you’re doing in this universe and how you got here?”
Darcy shoved a cup of coffee (black, no sugar, just the way Jane liked it) at her. “The pancakes are ready. Can the interrogation wait until after we eat, please?”
“Of course.” The three of them sat at the kitchen table and Jane noted approvingly that, whatever else Stephen was, he had a healthy appetite. Or maybe he just really likes Darcy’s cooking. When everyone was down to just their second cups of coffee, she asked, “Would you like me to repeat the question?”
Stephen smiled a bit. “No need. I’m here because this universe is one of many and all of them are under threat. I was brought here by a powerful alien called the Watcher, he keeps an eye on the different universes and when he realized some threats span multiple universes, he knew there needed to be people to neutralize those threats.”
“They’re called the Guardians of the Multiverse,” Darcy said proudly. “Stephen is the first.”
Not even the weirdest thing I’ve heard this week, Jane thought before turning to her best friend. “How did you get mixed up in this?”
Darcy grinned. “You’re looking at the Watcher’s assistant. I’ve got plenty of experience in both being vigilant and making sure geniuses on a mission eat and sleep regularly.”
Jane raised an eyebrow. “I’m not even going to question that.” She turned back to Stephen. “Why did the Watcher recruit you?”
“I’m a sorcerer.”
She probably likes his bluntness too. “You look more like a vampire to me.”
Stephen chuckled as he leaned back in his chair, his arms crossed in front of his chest, and his clothes morphed into something out of a fantasy video game. “Does this fit into your pre-conceived notions better?” Dressed like that, it was easy to sense the dark and powerful aura she had previously overlooked.
No wonder Darcy’s falling for him – everything together makes for quite a package. Still, he didn’t come across as evil. And when he caught Darcy’s eye and his gaze softened, Jane realized something else.
Darcy’s not the only one with a crush.

Loki pls :'3 ~necklace-of-sin
You got it ;)
Favourite thing about them: I love how dramatic he is. Granted, some of that drama probably stems from the need to overcompensate (poor attention-starved hun), but it's still hilarious. I also love the sarcasm and sass, because, well, how can you not? He's got such a colourful personality, there's a reason he steals all the attention whenever he's on stage (or screen, I should say). He's genuinely really playful, and a performer at heart, it's just a shame he never had the right audience.
Least favourite thing about them: To an extent, predictability. This one is more the fault of the writers, though. I feel like it gets frustrating when they just don't want to develop Loki as a character. It's no secret that he's the fan favourite, and for good reason! He's a really complex character with loads of potential, that just... doesn't get used. (Still salty that they killed him off after ragnarok and went back to post-avengers Loki so they could have a blank slate. The character had FINALLY made a major development! His character arc hadn't come to a close, it was just beginning!!!) (This doesn't count for the Loki series, I haven't watched it yetbajdjajsj :P )
Favourite line: "You had one job. Just the one!"
BrOTP: Nebula and Loki! I really like Nebula... a lot. She's great. Her and Loki have loads in common (daddy issues, less-favoured sibling, misunderstood... blue-). Sad that they never met in canon.
OTP: Thorki ;)
nOTP: uhhh. Oh I'm not sure to be honest. Loki/Darcy, I guess??? Or Loki/Odin or Loki/Frigga. Otherwise, I'm pretty much ok w whoever.
Random headcanon: If Loki ever met his brothers (Byleistr and Helblindi) they would adore and spoil the hell outta him (even if he's the older one). This comes more from AUs and fic and stuff, but I love the idea of this frost family ok ;-;
Unpopular Opinion: uhhH. Ok this one might get me hurt, but I don't find him that intimidating (in canon). It kinda feels like we never see the true extent of his abilities, and he's way too easily taken down or shut up. Like- this is supposed to be the god of chaos man. He kinda just feels like a stronger-than-average human at times. (Also for a trickster god, he doesn't actually do all that much... tricking.)
Song I associate with them: I WANNA BE YOUR SLAVE by Måneskin. (Also gives me lowkey thorki vibes aheeeey-)
Favourite picture of them:
Not MCU but I love his fit so w/e

Loki x Reader chapter 6
A/N: IMPORTANT AUTHORS NOTE AT END
Chapter 6: “She’s dangerous” “So am I”
You, Thor, Sif, Hogun, Volstagg, and Fandral in the banquet hall for dinner. You had gotten used to how rowdy it got in the evenings. You learned quickly it was an every-night thing to throw bangers for dinner.
Tomorrow was the day--you were going to go up against one of them.
You went to take another sip of your wine but widened your eyes when you realized your chalice was empty. Your anxiety was definitely overwhelming you a bit. You poured yourself another glass but promised yourself that was your last one. You couldn't risk getting hammered before a big fight.
You picked at meat in front of you as you all chatted and laughed.
Then Vostagg addressed you, "So, Lady Y/n, what did you learn from your training?" He raised a playful eyebrow as the rest of them looked intrigued.
You laughed to yourself when you pointed to Thor, "He's bigger than me," you shifted your finger to Fandral who was next to you, "taller than me." You moved your finger to Hogun, "And he's older than me." Then Sif, "and stronger than me." You finally pointed to Volstagg, "and his arm's a little bit longer than me." (Please tell me you get this reference).
They all looked at you with confused and concerned faces.
"If that's all she's learned, she's doomed," Hogun said concerned.
You giggled, "It's just a song, you guys." You tilted your head and smiled thankfully, "No, I learned a lot, I swear."
"She definitely has tricks up her sleeves, gentlemen," Sif said smirking. She placed a piece of fruit into her mouth and winked at you.
Thor nodded and rubbed his stomach, "Oh, believe me, I know." He lightly shivered as he remembered something. "I thought she stabbed me, but her clone went right through me."
Laughter echoed through the banquet hall as the six of you continued to chat and joke til late.
With your books in hand, you made your way to the dungeon. You hadn't seen him yet that week. You told yourself you needed to focus on your training for the fight, but you couldn't help finding yourself feeling guilty. Why? No fucking idea.
You slowed your pace as you approached his cell, finding him lying on his bed. You nodded curtly and turned to leave.
"Look who finally decided to show up."
You smoothly spun around with a cheeky smile, "Aww, did you miss me?"
He leaned up, letting his elbows rest on his knees, and chuckled, "Not you, per se."
You mouthed 'ah' as you moved closer. "Well it's not like you need company," you jabbed as you gestured to the other cells. He narrowed his eyes and smiled dryly. You chuckled as you sat down on the floor and reclined your legs. You were relieved to be wearing your regular clothes again... that's why you'd go to the dungeons so late; hardly anyone was awake to criticize you breaking the rules.
You opened your books to read and take notes from where you left off. You could feel his stare clawing at you for attention. "Can I help you?"
He shrugged.
You nodded and continued reading, but the goddamn fucker would not stop staring. "Okay," you said annoyed, "this is getting creepy, Loki. What do you want?"
He hesitated.
"Shouldn't you be sleeping?" You raised an eyebrow at him as he continued. "Your 'big day' is tomorrow. Isn't this...what did you call it... self-sabotage?"
You laughed, "Wow, look at you, picking up on the psychology I've been spewing." He rolled his eyes and you shook your head. "It's not like I'd actually get any sleep. And why exactly do you care, Troublemaker? Wouldn't that just be another thing for you to shit on me for?"
He smirked, "Oh, no, darling. You'll lose either way. I get that pleasure, regardless."
You scrunched your nose and shook your head. "Such a wise-ass," you mumbled. "Well, if it's any consolation, I caught your--Thor by surprise yesterday."
He raised an eyebrow curiously, "Is that so?"
You nodded proudly, "Yup. My clone stabbed him. Never thought I'd see the day where I scared the Almighty God of Thunder." You laughed to yourself as you thought about his expression--shock and betrayal. You furrowed your brows, "It was kinda unsettling. He looked genuinely traumatized."
Loki let out a laugh and you looked at him. He was reminiscing about something, "That, would be my fault." You leaned forward but he didn't continue. "Well done, though. Wouldn't have expected a Midgardian to pull that off."
I shrugged and leaned onto your arms' support, letting the backhanded compliment roll off your shoulders.
You looked around his cell. He had fresh fruit and pheasant from the banquet. You figured Frigga sent the food, and then diverted your gaze to his books. No new ones.
"What do you do when you're bored?"
Loki looked at you as you blankly stared back, but didn't answer.
"Is that the point of this?" You gestured to the cell, "To slowly get you to be silent with your own thoughts? So you can face what you've done, but internally?" You pulled your legs up to your chest and hugged them. "You'd definitely go insane at some point. I mean I just don't ge-"
"Enough."
You quickly shut your mouth at the harsh tone in his voice. You were trying to get him to open up, possibly let his guard down...just a little. He stared at you, his eyes now filled with disdain and something else you couldn't make out. "I...I'm sorry. I di-"
"Leave." He said quietly, but sternly. You went to respond but this time he yelled. "LEAVE!"
You flinched and gathered your books. You stood and made your leave. Quickly glancing back, you caught one last glimpse of him.
His back was turned to you as he stood, his hands were clenched, and his body was stiff.
The next morning you made your way to Thor. One of the guards told you he was still in his chambers. You picked at your fingernails as you contemplated knocking or just leaving.
You couldn't stop thinking about last night. You felt bad for pissing Loki off that bad. You never saw him that angry and you certainly weren't expecting it. Did you deserve to be snapped at like that? Probably. But it was still...
Just as you turned to leave his door swung open. Thor looked down at you with confusion, "Y/n? What are you doing here this early?"
You scratched at the back of your hand, "Can we talk? Privately?"
He nodded, "I actually need to speak to you about something important."
He led you outside to a garden. It was empty as the two of you walked its grounds.
"Something's troubling you." He stated. You nodded, trying to find the right words.
"I don't think this is working."
He furrowed his brows and stopped walking. You halted as well. "What do you mean?"
You ran a hand through your locks and sighed. "He's not going to open up to me. I'm not helping. He's too...guarded." You looked up at the fluffy clouds and furrowed your brows, "And being locked up, definitely isn't helping my case or his."
"What are you getting at?"
"How bad of an idea do you think it would be for me to ask your father for some...leniency?"
His eyes widened, realizing what you meant. "Y/n," he started.
You looked at him seriously, "I know, I know it's unlikely... but every time I think I'm getting somewhere he pulls back and hides away in a shell of himself."
"My father doesn't even know the full extent as to why you're here."
You tilted your head while crossing your arms and raised an eyebrow suspiciously, "Oh, come on. You don't actually believe that do you? He's Odin, the All-Father."
He let out a sigh, "As much as I would love to see him out of there, it's not a good idea. Not now, at least."
"What do you mean?"
"Firstly, you've only talked to him five or six times, yes?"
You nodded reluctantly, "Well, yeah. But I doubt anything would change. You know your brother, Muscles. He's too guarded, and being put on display like an animal at the zoo isn't hel--"
"There's something else." You raised an eyebrow for him to continue. "I need to go back to Earth."
"What?"
You followed Thor at a fast pace to Heimdall. He filled you in on the way. Heimdall could no longer see Jane.
Looks like that fight was put on hold. Thank God, you thought.
You could tell he was worried and told him you were coming with him, no arguments. You argued it was cuz you were his responsibility both on Earth and in Asgard. He didn't have the time nor patience to argue so he silently agreed. You gave a quick hello to Heimdall and he made a quick conversation with Thor, before opening the Bifrost and sending you both to Jane's last location.
You arrived and looked around. There were several industrial shipping crates. Your eyes landed on two brunettes talking a few feet away from you.
Suddenly the sky opened up and it started pouring. "Great," you grumbled getting drenched.
Both brunettes looked in your direction, and one of them stormed over.
"Jane," Thor said. She reached a hand up to his face and then slaps him. Your mouth drops and you step back giving them safe.
The rain stopped and you looked around confused. It was no longer raining directly on you. You went to say something but stopped when Jane slapped him a second time, "Where were you?!"
Thor's face was full of concern, "Where were you? Heimdall could not see you."
As the two talked Darcy approached and you went up to her. "Hi," you said relieved to not be focusing on the awkward conversation between Jane and Thor.
She turned her head. "Hi?" She said confused. "Have we met?"
You shook your head, "Right, no. I'm Y/n. A friend of Thor's from...work?"
She nodded, "I'm Darcy, an intern for Jane." She pointed to a guy being detained at a car behind you, "And that's my intern." You nodded awkwardly and bounced on your heels. You glanced back at the two. They were about to kiss until Darcy interrupted about the weird phenomenon with the rain.
"Hey, is that you?" she asked Thor. The rain stopped as Thor looked up.
"Um," Darcy started, "I'm pretty sure we are getting arrested."
Jane gave a dry smile to Darcy and her eyes landed on you. "Um, hi." She turned back to Thor. "Hold that thought," she said before running toward the police.
Darcy and Thor greeted each other as you three made your way to Jane and the cops. Just as you're about to reach her, the cop reaches out to grab her. Suddenly a bright red light and a strong force burst out from them. Everyone gets pushed back and Thor screams out for Jane.
He runs to her and you help Darcy up. "Are you alright?" he asks.
The cops draw their weapons and slowly approach them, telling Jane to stand down and put her hands up. Thor tries to reason with them.
"Look, officers, you don't know what's happening, neither do we. But it's best if you all stepped back," You warned.
The cop shook his head, "She's dangerous." You rolled your eyes.
"So am I," Thor responded. "Y/n." You nodded and moved closer to them as Thor grabs Jane.
You could feel the wind pick up around you as the Bifrost opened. You noticed Jane tightened her eyes and you chuckled at her response. It was definitely something that took time getting used to, you would know.
You arrive back and sigh in relief that the brief rollercoaster ride is over. "We have to do that again," Jane said with an excited smile. She noticed Heimdall and greeted him with a shy smile.
"Welcome to Asgard," he said, smiling in return.

A/N:
AHHHHH HIIIII Okay, so I know this doesn't entirely fit the canon storyline. But I figured the whole "bringing peace back to the 9 realms" happened before Y/n arrived in Asgard. Idk exactly lol, but that's what I'm going for
AlsoOoooOoo I'm finally ahead of my chapters! When you read this, both chapters 5 and 6 will be published this week.
I'm setting a schedule for new chapters: Two chapters a week, usually posted on the weekends.
AHHHHHH Things are finally picking up. I have a few other NON-CANON things planned so please try to understand that it's not gonna be exactly the same.
Love yall.

wandavision episode 9 thoughts
!! SPOILERS OBVIOUSLY!!
- I was stressed the whole time but I really liked it. some parts felt a bit rushed but ultimately it was a nice ending
- the contrast between the battle between agatha and wanda compared to hex!vision and white vision just talking in the library like old scholars was hilarious
- wanda was deffo trying to get her children back in that end credit scene and i wanna know what happened to white vision
- I think it’s cool that Monica is literally being called up to space now that she can glow like they said in captain marvel
- wanda maximoff is a bad bitch and i love her
- wanda’s new outfit?? bitch i am LIVING
- I’m happy that Jimmy, darcy and Monica are okay
- evan peters being cast as a big boner joke was a punch to the gut at first but now i think its kinda funny and in line with evan peters as a person. he probably took the job based on that
- I’m sad about the twins and vision tho :( i really was an idiot for thinking they would survive the hex closing, especially the kids i got so attached
- no bc the whole scene where the hex closed was so sad I genuinely teared up, especially knowing that billy knew what was going on bc of his powers and still put on a brave face for his family. stg if they showed them ‘dying’ for lack of a better word i would have balled my eyes out
- so now i feel super guilty for not giving a shit about vision in infinity war but now it’s all i’ll be able to think about when i watch aou, cacw and iw
- marvel really did miss a trick though by not having ‘as the world caves in’ playing over that song because then i really would have been balling like a lil bitch
- apparently some fans are angry with the finale bc it didn’t live up to the theories they had in mind and they feel swindled? the only reason you’re upset is bc you wasted time on a dead end theory and that’s ok lmao get over it. It’s not the shows fault that you raised your own expectations by creating convoluted theories and ideas based off little Easter eggs yk
- sometimes Easter eggs don’t mean anything except a nod to the fans like an inside joke yk and the people that take it so seriously just ruin it for themselves and it can be so harmful, i mean we’ve seen what happens in the star wars fandom
- at the end of the day this series was about wanda and vision and their story and showing wanda’s grief and trauma and exploring their dynamic as a couple. this show wasn’t meant to introduce things like mephisto or split open the multiverse or bring in the x men or fantastic four. kevin feige even said that in the disney + shows nothing too major will happen/be revealed because he knows a lot of fans will still only watch the movies. it is your fault as the viewer for getting your hopes up so high and believing all rumours and reading into tiny details that lead to you being so disappointed, even though nothing was promised to you
TL:DR the finale was good, and a good end to this section of wanda’s arc and was great for setting up some major aspects of phase 4 and I’m super excited to see what marvel does next, especially with fatws and the Loki series

Fic idea: Loki mermaid AU with literally any plot except merfolk are canonically genderfluid (inspired by this one post about genderfluid merfolk in trending tumblr wont let me link it)
I can’t find the post but I’m jumping on the gender-fluid merfolk bandwagon so thank you for that :D
- plot? what plot?
- okay so instead of falling off the bifrost or whatever odin dumps both his male princes manly sons #patriarchy on earth to learn some lessons in humility/obedience but to avoid the two of them working together he’s left thor as a human on earth and dumped loki into the water as a half-fish (thanks, odin)
- thor bumps into jane and darcy and erik except when he can’t lift the hammer he’s decided to go reunite with loki (because loki always knows what to do - he’ll know what to do about the hammer and how to get father to accept them back!) and they help him set up an ID and stuff for himself after jane realizes the guy has very limited knowledge about the wormhole he fell through.
- thor struggles with getting a job and working hard to be able to work on-board a cruising agency. he learns to work hard for what he wants, he waits tables and makes beds and no one lets him near the cooking but he washes dishes and everything else on-board the R.D. Stark, while always keeping an eye on his map and which parts of the ocean they’ve gone over and not found loki on, because he totally believes loki would be trying to get to him and staying near the surface just like he is.
- loki though? nope. not even trying to get back. he knows thor is out there and he believes odin will accept his heir back eventually, but himself? yeah he figured out what happened, its obvious he was either abandoned/stolen and actually a jotun, so as far as he’s concerned being stuck as a mermaid is an upgrade. not to mention mermaids don’t have gender roles so he can go around following his interests and doing whatever he wants (he’s considered a juvenile mermaid and gets adopted by the collective mermaid community) and he can switch genders freely and no one judges loki for it. he’s happy down here exploring and learning and the ocean is a huge place to explore and he’s got a knack for learning ocean magic (odin didnt remove his magic he removed his knowledge of magic so he cant use it without relearning everything) and he’s even got friends now (more on this later)
- The Avengers left as humans are Tony Thor and Clint, where Tony is still Tony, and Clint and him work for SHIELD and the real reason they hired Thor was because SHIELD has been keeping an eye on the guy claiming to be an alien deity since trying to lift the hammer... they get close to Thor and with the amount of tales this guy has to tell and the way his eyes water when he talks about his brother they’re starting to believe him... and now Stark is helping cover the areas on the maps they haven’t covered and he’s built sonars to pick up on ‘mermaid’ if they really are underwater somewhere...
- The Avengers left as mermaids are Steve (found frozen the mermaids found him and converted him with ocean magic), Natasha (Budapest mission with Clint gone wrong she drowned in the Denube...) and Bruce (a bullet didn’t work but surely the hulk couldn’t breathe underwater?... anyways now he’s a mermaid and into water calming meditation and stuff and the hulk is just him but green and doubled in size but he keeps the tail) and they’ve been a part of the mermaid community for a while but they’re barely passing as adults even steve at 100 because mermaids are long-lived oKay so they’re a group that goes exploring and fights capitalist sea monsters and stuff
- thor learns to show when he cares and to value lives of even lesser races like humans and fish creatures when his friends are in danger (tony and clint probably started drowning in the on-cruise pool or something smh) while loki learns self worth and that identity isnt based on material things like gender or what services you can offer another (probably after he profusely apologizes for not being perfect and preventing something in a fight?)
- the sound waves tony’s sonar has? yeah its messing with the beings that live deep underwater including the mermaids (ouchie ears hurtie) and some ancient sea monster they’ve waken up with tony’s powerful tech (cthulhu is that u??)
- anyways loki and co. turn up to fight the monster while its attacking thor and co. and then the day is saved through teamwork and mermaids singing (okay, steve and loki singing, because they’ve got good voices and nat can only sing in russian...) the monster to sleep by projecting their voices into tony’s sonar machine.
- then you’ve got the reunion and thor learns loki never intended to go back to asgard because he thinks he has nothing there... the mermaids are staying on the cruise pool because Clint and Nat need to have a talk too because Clint was blaming himself for her death and maybe there’s some emotions there (they’re friends but also clint doesnt have a family in this AU) ? nat has learnt to be more expressive and clint is so so happy for her... thor does NOT want to leave his brother he doesnt care if he’s jotun he just wants to be with his brother... tony meets steve and is like ‘woah ur the guy my dad had the hots for’ and they get along and tony’s kinda curious about underwater tech? tony mentions the winter soldier and suddenly steve loved living underwater but he doesnt care if the world has moved on he has to go see bucky-- but, oh? what’s this? Tony is offering to bring his parent’s killer to steve? he understands the brainwashing doesnt leave the man responsible? Tony has learnt to be down to earth? by spending time making genuine friends for the sake of making friends? he’s gotten emotionally attached? he’s learnt empathy through watching thor;s love for his brother and watching clint melt at seeing nat alive?
- anyways thor and clint decide to stick with their respective merfolk (thor doesnt care if it means giving up asgard’s throne he just wants his brother to be happy and if that means changing genders and living underwater and being appreciated for magic thor would happily trade the throne for that) (all clint had was shield anyways and nat? she was a friend he’d trade the world for even years later) steve wants to turn human and go to bucky but tony brings bucky to him with a hit on the noggin and after some time in wakanada™. OH I didn’t mention that Tony absolutely freaks out when he finds out BRUCE BANNER the legend himself is underwater too... Tony totally gets VIP membership and can switch between human and merman now... because he helped ‘unite many broken souls’ or something... hmm... Stark Industries Underwater Division sounds nice....hmm........
- everyone lives happily ever after and odin chokes on his mead when he tries to check on thor’s progress and finds him and loki happily together adventuring actually getting along
#ngl odin had probably planned on retrieving thor and leaving loki on earth for a while#since the mermaids are long lived he could've ignored him for a few centuries#anyways jokes on odin because in this AU loki and thor act like actually brothers who care for each other#even if loki thinks it'd be better for thor to forget him

The Library (Loki x Reader)
Surrounded by the smell of book pages, aged architecture and Loki; the latter overwhelming all your senses.
His clean skin, his slightly sweet breath - likely from the candy he'd indulged earlier in the night - were all you could smell and taste. The only sound was that of the two of your sighs and gasps all meshed together. All you saw was the darkness of passion behind your closed eyes. Shivers rippled over your own skin each time his cool hands repositioned over your neck, cheeks, hips, back ...
A calm evening walk has turned into Loki kissing you silly in the corner of a public library.
It was a late decision to visit the library on the way back. Loki had expressed a desire to delve deeper into Midgardian religions and you couldn't resist the innocent, childlike enthusiasm in his eyes as he spoke of it. Not that you understood half of what he was saying, but you genuninely tried. And you never passed up an opportunity to browse books.
Knowing it would be only a small visit, the two of you naturally parted ways into your own worlds of wonder. With so much to learn, Loki decided quickly that he wouldn't be checking any volumes out this evening, but he could still browse. Sometimes when he wanted a laugh he'd look into the Midgardian translation of "Norse Mythology". However tonight what truly struck his fancy was the more common beliefs on earth.
The intricate details of religions such as Christianity and Islam fascinated him to no end. After having read Scriptures from these in particular, it even reminded him vaguely of the common Asgardian belief systems he grew up with. He now wished to get a feel for whose theories and philosophies of these made more sense.
You on the other hand, were like a cat in catnip in the fiction sections. All you wanted to do was look and feel of the printed imagination around you; it was almost alive. Every time you came you found something new - either new to the shelf or new to you. Today your feet brought you to the classics, where you spent what seemed like hours in the midst of.
Not surprisingly you acquired a pretty hefty stack of books you wanted to read.
"What have we here?"
While debating on how many to leave with, you nearly dropped them all on your feet.
Loki has a very funny way of doing that, then truly apologizing for it.
Mildly embarrassed at your lack of self-control, you sit your stack onto a wooden rocking chair to go through them. It creaks under the familiar weight.
"I got a little carried away."
"I expect no less, my dear. If it were, I'd know something was wrong."
The lidded gaze he gave you made you cast your eyes down. You could easily melt in your shoes from such a look, and something told you that's exactly what he intended.
They fell on the first book of your stack.
"Oh heavens. I know Pride and Prejudice is widely regarded here, but believe me when I say it's quite depressing in retrospect."
"Depressing? Are you sure?" you ask.
"I'm certain. Anyone who ends up with the likes of Mr. Darcy is damned to a life of eternal unhappiness."
"Really? I kinda thought he sounded like you in the synopsis," you couldn't even finish with a straight face.
He was trying to burn you with his eyes.
"Do you have any idea, who you're comparing me to?" By this point you were struggling to keep your laughing at an acceptable volume within the library. "Mr. Darcy hadn't the first clue about romance or how to court the woman he loves. Merely the draw of a few kind words in a letter after weeks of mistreatment and Elizabeth was smitten! Completely unreasonable to expect. I mean, he knew not even the first act of love, such as this," Loki exhibits by taking your hand with quite possibly the gentlest touch in the universe.
"Or this," he brings your knuckles to his lips, without breaking eye contact.
And suddenly, you can't pull your eyes away either.
Goosebumps spread from your hand, down your arm, all the way up the side of your neck. He steps closer, shadowing you from light before whispering, "Or this."
You hadn't expected the small little exchanges of looks through eyelashes and blushed faces to become this.
Your mind runs a mile a minute, yet slows to a creep at the same time. The feeling of vulnerability came twofold, in one hand from the downright scandalous turn of events of such a blatant public display of affection, but in the other hand, from an odd sense of trust associated with the act.
Hidden away between shelves, your spine against the spines of endless fiction. Loki's height shielding you from view. Kissing you so fervently that your knuckles on one hand are white from clutching a copy of Animal Farm so tightly, while the other is clawing, gripping at Loki's arm for support.
No tearing at each other's clothes, no heading southbound, just unadulterated kissing; but there was no need for anything else - that being Loki's original point within his rant about Mr. Darcy. Even the smallest of actions can bring about purer feelings.
Now, turning such a rant into quite possibly the most intimate, spontaneous, passionate encounter of your life, is something only Loki is capable of.
"Psst!"
He pulls away with an obscene smack to find a disapproving librarian frowning at the two of you over her glasses. "We're closed."
It was then that you both noticed how dark it was, as the lights had been switched off. The librarian huffed away, shaking her head.
It was also then that you noticed just how close you were to Loki - as if you hadn't been this entire time - hanging by your arms around his neck for dear life. In fact you were so close that when he turned his head back to you, your noses booped.
And then the sound of your shared laughing filled the silent air. So sweet, so carefree.
He happily sighed, "We should do this again sometime."

The anon had the impression that most Marvel adaptations, not only MCU, with a few exceptions, only exist to boost merch sales with little thought put into the story as a story. On the other hand Loki the series is firmly a story for the sake of the story, created because the director had some cool ideas (that don't translate well into merch). It feels like a BBC show, and kinda rightfully, because both the director and majority of the cast are British. The anon is kinda hyped!
Hi Anon ^^ I can't comment more on the exact perspective of the Loki series itself, as I haven't watched it, so all I'm left with is responding to the MCU itself. ( I might suspect the might not get into the saucy aspects of Loki's comic lore but oh, well, Marvel has a low bar...) Your sentiment can only be seconded by me. Don't get me wrong, the movies before were always fun flicks, nothing deep. Still the tone and funky characters were enoyable to me, everyone had a quirky personality to be distinguished from others. With the Russo run, all characters talked in quippy oneliners, and the set is only there for big explosions and guessing who shoots the hardest laserbeam . A lot of the personal interaction is missing for my taste. Crossreference to the greater franchise before an actual character focused movie. That was what broke Wandavision for me. It was more important to add the cameo's from name and characters we know (Darcy is a political science major who now suddenly is an established astrophysicist??? ), needing to catch up the emotional plotbeats and explain to the audience like they were toddlers why Wanda is big sad because the movies were bombarded with singular events, leaving no room for the characters to express proper emotions let alone grief. (The Wanda-Vision-romance within the MCU summoned question marks in my mind. I know, they're a couple in the comics but in the movie I maybe watched Civil War but then read in the Endgame synopsis they were an undying love couple? When did this happen? Natasha and Clint had more meaningful setup in one movie scene of the Avengers than Wanda dicing peppers in Civil War.)
All in all, yeah. Big set pieces to build up the franchise for big spectacle, more than the characters in it.
