•ill place this in like, late 90s and early 2000s, so there is that huge thing against goths and punks for being ‘weird’ and against god or something along those lines

•curlys pretty used to being targeted for being different for his punk style and such while pony isnt exactly used to that so i imagine that hes more protective while ponys trying to figure himself out in that regard

•some bands pony would b interested in is evanescence, the cure, and siouxsie and the banshees, london after midnight, of course there IS more but these r like more so his favs

•how pony found out about gothic bands was like, a song was playing in darrys car radio and darry didnt rlly like it so he changed it but the song was already stuck in ponys head

•he brought it up to curly but pony was just like ‘idk maybe itll pass’, it in fact DID not pass and later they was just chillin in curlys car and the song came back on the radio and pony was like ‘neuron activated’

•curly was personally not rlly into the song, but hey, ponys happy so its whatever

•personally i imagine that pony doesnt have a gothic STYLE more so he has a love for gothic songs and literature, yknow what i mean??? but maybe he does borrow some clothes from curly thats more on the gothic side or thrifts some clothes

MAC HI don't mind me i just finished the genloss founders cut and im putting my ful lreview in ur inbox bc u said u weren't gonna watch it i think but i want 2 share my thoughts with someone who will not rip me to shreds for criticizing it even slightly <3

OK. I'M NOT GONNA LIE. IT KINDA SLAPPED. maybe i just think it was really good in comparison to the original four hours of streams that dragged on. i honestly thought the original streams of genloss were longer but NO all three streams add up to about four hours???? it just felt so much longer when i originally watched it i guess!!! u can understand why i am sure. but the founders cut was like two and a half and oh my goddddd cutting out a lot of it made such a huge difference. holy shit. like i definitely did get bored and skip through a little bit but honestly i didn't skip through much!! every time i got to a part where i was like "oh fuck not THIS bit that goes on for 30-45 minutes god dammit" it ended up being like maybe ten minutes at most which was SUCH A GODSEND. i am delighted to report that they cut the half hour cooking bit in the first episode down to like 7-8 minutes <3 the best surprise ranboo could have given me tbh. like with the way things were cut down and framed differently i actually laughed at a couple points????? WILD. did not think i would find any genuine comedy here. lowkey there were points that were funny. insane

honestly with the unfunny bits being cut down, it actually let the slightly more serious lore bits shine more, and the payoff for when it got to the third episode felt SO much more deserved. like. the original streams i'd probably give a 3/10 collectively and that's being generous but i would unironically say the founder's cut deserves like a 7/10. maybe a 7.5 if i found it in myself to ignore the bad special effects. (there was still plenty of bad comedy ngl i still don't know why charlie slimecicle's face was superimposed on a towel. that scene was nothing. it was literally nothing. they could have removed it and it would change nothing but they kept it in idk why)

ANYWAY. if they had released genloss like this first maybe i would unironically be a fan of it now. tbh. i would still be making fun of the bad comedy and the horror that was barely horror but i think i would actually be like participating in the fandom a lil and i would probably find it in me to find some charm in the bad special effects. all in all Not Bad!! not good, but not like actively bad. ofc im still running on the adrenaline of the ending because episode 3 was objectively the best out of them all so maybe my perception is skewed but. kinda decent. 7/10 👍 anyway i hope ur havin a good day i hope to finish pd season one soon over the next couple days!!!!!

Hang on i just remembered that one time when i was little when my mother told me that if i kept stealing bread out of the kitchen in secret it would be my fault if my dad died and my brain immediately went “splintercore” and i guess it kinda is. HEHFHSFEHFJK anyway. alda beloved none of this will make sense to u so ill try to give spark notes explanations as i go but. these two goobers are rsa [royal sword academy - the rival school that seems to be more based on the Good Guy™ disney characters rather than the main school's villains lol] students.

the very short summary is guy on left (Char - I looked thru sooo many names for him and that's the one i ended up on lol. some twst names are really on the nose like VIL for the EVIL QUEEN so why cant i use char!) is cater diamond's [a canon character who's said to have moved around a lot] childhood friend from when they were like 5 but lost contact w/him. Dañarte (literally not a name. it's spanish for 'hurt you' and it only came up/his existence spawns from a typo turned autocorrect in a message i was sending my frined and we just kept it for funsies and i made a character out of it lol 😭) is his shady cousin that has a charming friendly appearance but is going to cause problems on purpose bc hes a bitter baby or whatever.

i have a lot more details w/them and their connection with BESTIE CATER but that's not what the ask was about so i will HOLD BACK!!! for now.

A) Why are you excited about this character?

because!!! i see a lot of people make really creative twst ocs based off other disney characters and i think that's SO FUN!!!! i dont really think i myself am very creative of a person, but this was something i kinda got to have fun with. i had the initial thought with char based off one random fanart I saw like forever ago, so i borrowed the starting idea and then just completely ran off with it to do my own thing, SPIN MY OWN WEB!!!! [i think the fanart was like, just some random rsa guy recognizing cater; it was japanese fanart so i had limited google translate on my side - idr if the childhood friend thing was part of it or if that's just a thing my brain decided to fill in the blanks?? anyway i went from there / designed my own random guy / started LORE BUILDING and EXPANDING]

also their involvement is very much a soap opera esque TEEN ROMANCE DRAMA which i think is funny. a lot of this came from just talking to my friend in discord cuz there was no engtwst at the time and she was the only person i knew that i could talk to about twst, so even tho these are my characters, it's something that spawned from me going ham in our discord messages and us bouncing ideas off each other and just havin private fun. unrestrained goofs!!!

D) Have they always had the same physical appearance, or have you had to edit how they look?

HMMMM well according to all the doodles i'd compiled in one spot, it does look like i just went with my initial ideas for both of em and kept it. they r not that deeply thought out bc i am Not much of a designer - god bless the school uniform i could steal so i didnt have to come up w/clothes kfjlsdf. and tbh theyre pretty basic right now so for all i know, maybe this is the prototype. maybe they've yet to go through their first evolution. WHO KNOWS!!!! but in their case, their existence came more from the SOAP OPERA DRAMA storyline i came up with, and wasn't so much based on appearance/character design. i mostly just had doodles and sketchy concepts just so i could continue to doodle parts of said story for funsies to send my friend on discord lol

Kingohger ep 1 overal thoughts under da cut ^_^ feel free to reply w ur own

CGI-wise: i really liked the feel it brought to the throneroom / castle scenes, very epic and kingdom establishing. But it definitely felt underwhelming and lackluster in crowded scenes like the festival walk/big invasion at the end. I hope they stop going /as/ hard and do dressed up/just blatant japan ground locations for more scenes so it feels more real

The ranger ground fights as a whole felt kinda meh, though tbf they were clearly making the mechha debut the Big Thing TM. Karma for donbros just skipping it half the time/not giving a shit.

Speaking of mecha i thought i’d be into the cockpit rig but it just made the actor parts in there feel kinda sluggish and stiff. Tbh i usually skip/speed thru the mexha fights anyways sooooo doesnt affect me much tbh

Also ngbl the crystal transform thing was nderwhelming. All those armored pieces we gotta see those slap on proper yknow

I jnow it’s the inouepilled brain but i really thought we’d do just a little but if secret identity ploy. The whole shaking arm almost in tears to AHAHAHAA I AM EVIL KING scene gave very much theatre kid i am choosing my role vibes. I would love to dig into his psyche. Also while i am all for the whole same actions different reasons foil/well-intentioned extremist villain thing they really did not properly establish racles’ world conquership vs gira’s i will conquer the world thing. This beetle is just showing blatant favoritism their stated desired are like exactly the same. Also please no secret royal bloodline gira thing. Tho i highly suspect it is coming.

Overall it was a lil style over substance but there’s def some cool stuff happening. Will it be able to follow donbros act? games, ive been playin modded fallout 3 a lot lately and havin a great time, my character has purple hair and like. a laser shotgun? (the metal blaster from the pitt) and a sweet cybernetic eye that gives her night vision and thermal imaging? so cool. She's also got a big ol sentry bot w/ a gatling laser that kinda murders things before I get a chance to actually do it myself which tbh is fine by me?? hehe

I kinda wanna start another game though where insteada robots and lasers i get animals and swords ? that also could be really cool? although . seems pretty hard to go melee i suspect w/ fwe making everything so lethal,, but hey i feel it might be fun to try and i can always tone down the settings if it doesnt work out.

Other than fallout 3 I play mtg like . all the time, and right now ive been playin w/ some monoblue list thats popular in standard atm just 'cuz mtga is hard and i already had most of the cards for that? and my other more fun deck is my oni-cult anvil thing ive been messing with pretty much since the card released? mechanized warfare came out w/ the latest set and its Nice. Still solid cards on their own though I dropped a mishra on a board where i had two anvils running for a while and abt a million 1/1s so i just swung out w/ em and drained my opponents life to nothing? realllll nice. Other than those decks .. I do play my anax deck in historic brawl pretty regularly, and I mean mechanized warfare was a good upgrade there as well, for obvious reasons. Monored would Love to do 1 more damage with everything! Also put phyrexian dragon engine in there too, 'cuz like . yay card draw, yay 3 mana 2/2 doublestrike? ... come to think im not sure i have ox of agonas in there, maybe I should add that one too,, oh one more recent upgrade wasnt from the new set but i only recently crafted a copy of fable of the mirror breaker, so I put that in as well.

But i found myself really havin fun watching it, characters were decent, animatronics looked great for the most part and story was pretty good

Although there are some choices that i find really questionable, that being the damn red eyes and the silly Willy taking off his mask just to put it back on while dying of springlock failure

I have really mixed feelings about that part of this scene, like it kinda makes him look dumb. Why the fuck would someone put back a mask of a suit that is killing them rn instead of liek, trying to save themselves, but from other perspective it may be a decent characterization moment for a long term villain. He is cocky. And he didn't expect anything to go wrong there, but when it did he knew hes done for and hes such a egotistical bitch he wanted to go out in style. Or he just knew he would end up a walking corpse. Dunno, thats why my feelings are mixed about him in that movie.

i think we all know that atsumu was left out a lot as a kid & i think that one of his biggest fears is that his loving s/o secretly prefers his brother like everyone else

so he probably tries to scare you off by showing his ugly side first- like constantly arguing with you or canceling dates in favor of an extra hour or two of volleyball practice- and you stay? 

he realizes that no matter what, you won’t leave him

“oi! what are ya still doin’ here, slug?” osamu yells, walking into the gym.

“what do ya think? havin’ a tea party?” atsumu quips back, annoyed that his brother interrupted his practice. 

osamu grabs a ball by his feet and chucks it at his brother. “do ya even know what time it is?” at atsumu’s look of confusion he decides that you’re too good for his idiot brother. “it’s already past 8, you’re late for yer movie date with y/n.”

atsumu’s eyes widen and osamu rolls his eyes at his brother’s frantic form, trying to clean up and get out of there as quickly as he can. “just go, i’ll stay to clean up.” osamu sighs, “but you owe me onigiri for a week!” 

back at your house, you’re sitting on the couch, patiently waiting for your boyfriend- who’s late, again. you jump at the frantic knocks at your front door and you open it to a very sweaty, very disheveled atsumu. 

“shit sorry babe! i left my phone on the bleachers and lost track of time but-” you cut him off with a kiss. his eyes widen before fluttering shut. 

“go shower, tsumu- you stink!” you laugh at his scowl “we can probably still get a couple movies in before my parents get back home.” 

he nods, “i really am sorry babe. i didn’t mean to come late, i just got so caught up in my serves and sets and i-”

he pulls you towards him, surprising you and everyone watching, and mumbles into your ear, “i thought you had a tutoring session?”

you pull back slightly and notice how he leans down, practically asking for a kiss. you peck his cheek before giggling, “i wanted it to be a surprise! are you surprised? did you miss me?”

he rolls his eyes before pulling down his mask and kissing you properly. “yes and ... yes” he answers, a light blush apparent on his cheeks.

So~ I should start off with context I guess. I'm AMAB and from the South (USA), moved to the Midwest for college (for opportunity), and the Southwest after ('cause i couldn't find a job basically 🤷🏿‍♂️).

First and foremost ('cause y'all mofos in here), the Midwest wasn't less racist. It was just less blatant. (iow: they had a bit more "class" 🙄) As for the Southwest? I'm noticing racism still, mostly from light(er)-skinned BIPOC's since I moved outta Colorado. Is there less now? I think? 🤔 Barely get out enough to say for sure. And haven't done the "look like you're on a date with a light-skinned/Euro woman" test yet. 😅 I'mma stop there before I end up writin' 4 different essays on the topics I brought up.

Let's Get In

Now, I already got a passport and been havin' the idea of gettin' dafuq outta this mud since middle school iirc. Why haven't I, though? I'm Black. Surprising, I know. There are only so many countries outside of the African continent that aren't gonna be full of people who only see me as a racial stereotype (positive or negative). [insert essay on how representation matters] Nevermind the places where there'll be plenty of folk who do not want my foreign (nationalists), dark (colorists), Afro-ass there. I ain't tryin'a deal with dem mofos, so any country that's got a low-ass percentage of African descended gets filtered out by default. Is that extreme? Am I not givin' places (and its many peoples) a chance? Yep. You think I'mma spend hella time lookin' up "is x country racist towards Blacks?" 140-ish times? Fuck dat. How'bout 10-20. And how would I get to 10-20? By filterin' out a mofo. Suddenly, dating apps.

How Africa Be, Though?

But what about countries within the African continent? Well, that's where it gets funny. See, I've seen how a handful of the Africans that went to my PWI viewed Afro-Americans. There's a default filter of what kinda person can "make it" to an American university in the first place, so I just assume they're representative of most well-off (or lucky) Africans. In short, 1 mofo thought they were better (like a Black sellout tbh), 1 just (benefit of the doubt here) fell victim to America's lies/propaganda, and 2 were both. 🤷🏿‍♂️

Why even bring this up if I've got the tiniest of sample sizes? Well, I later watched group discussions from The Grapevine (defunct as of 2022) where a buncha Afros brought up some things I took note of. One was of a brotha mentioning that, while he was accepted by the Africans in his area (New York iirc), he had to show them that he wasn't a stereotype first. So "one of the good ones" basically (aka: Some Euro shit). I'm sure somebody's gettin' ready to explain dat shit away. Go ahead. I'll probably read it. But here's the thing, I'mma talk how I wanna talk. And I'mma dress how I wanna dress. And I don't really feel myself in places where I don't fell "allowed" to wear a wave cap, locs, or a muscle-t. So why would I want the company (or intimacy) of somebody who thinks I should "talk properly"? Das a flag for me. Yeah, I've got plenty of people in my family who talk propa. And yeah, I'll do it when I feel like I need to. But a friend? A neighbor? The whole damn town? Fuck dat. I'd rather be me in a medium crime rate area than live in a low crime rate area where I can't actually relax.

And how much does this filter of mine limit my options in life? Hellas. Speaking from experience on the opposite end, I doubt I'll regret it and I'm pretty sure I'll be a happier healthier person for it, which is a whole'nother essay. 🤷🏿‍♂️

So the late Ayesha (a panelist on The Grapevine) brought up, during group discussions about colorism/racism in the Caribbean, quite a bit that the above links get into. Simply put, my Afro-ass gonna be treated a certain way for bein' dark and light-skinned mofos are likely to think they're better than me because they're White passing (outside the States). I don't feel like dealin' with dat bs. Sure, there are gonna be areas where it's less common, but I've got no reason not to expect those areas to be pockets compared to the size of the country itself. Which brings me back to the same issue I've had in the USA: "Where can I live?"

So, like,... where?

And that brings us to the next piece of the puzzle: I'm part of multiple marginalized groups. I'm an agnostic non-traditional "dark"-skinned brotha who's also a non-binary transfem with gynesexual-leaning omnisexuality. And I'm neurodivergent. And quite socialist. 😐 So~ my 10-20's gonna get filtered down to 5-10 real~ quick after a "Is x country homophobic/transphobic?" search. And I already know I'm gonna have to ease up on some of the "bear no ism against me" criteria if I don't wanna end up where there's ≤1% African-descended. 🤷🏿‍♀️

You know a country that caught my eye a few years back? A place I ain't even heard of 'til they were on the news for ditchin' da Queen's ass in late 2021? Barbados,... which is >90% Afro 👀. And you know what I found? They had only just taken significant pro-LGBTQ+ steps. naw fuq dat

Well, Shit. 🤷🏿‍♂️

So where does that leave me? Well, I've felt hopeless about this from time to time. Depressed, pissed, etc. I mean, either I'm gonna start diggin' and find a place that's ideal or I'm gonna give up a part of myself that I know I won't want to... again. Which raises a question: Why bother? Why not stay? Why not just ride it out and try to resist/fight the bs where I reasonably can? Well, that's where we get into the usual territory. Genocide. How bad does it have to get for me (just me) to say "fuck this" and bail? We might be clearly heading in that direction with these damn Conservatives and Republicans my fucking god, but I'm not sure it's certain yet. Real talk, though, if Jewish (trans) people say "we're there" then we're there.

To finish up,

yeah, people who can leave probably should leave for their best interest. Though, it'll make things harder for those who remain. People who can't or have things tieing them here (e.g.: family) should resist/fight to keep it from getting worse (and try to live in racially safe areas). That includes votin', y'all. For every ballot election. (gonna be clear here that i'm of the "research every issue/candidate" mentality; i rarely ever take trusted individuals' word for it)

As for what I think I should do? Stay resistin' and votin' like I been doin', but also... get on dat research so I can have an immediate backup plan and be out this mud real quick. 👍🏿

i have a serious question to my brother and sisters, all those stolen of africa and those that immigrated from their of their own volition and the generations that came after.

ive been doing a lot of listening to the goings on in the world, and ive been learning of our past and our history and philosophy and i have a question that we of the diaspora(not counting the islands in many regards and you'll see why) have not seemed to really be able to qive a definitive response to in the over 200 years since i've first seen this question be raised, and yes the context is different today from when it was first asked, and you may have guess what the question really is.

Do we stay and fight this oncoming wave of fascism and antiblackness that is sweeping through Europe and its settler states that it spawned? or do we turn towards Africa and the carribean nations?

I dont feel i need to say this, its very clearly not a "well if you dont like america, go back to africa" situation. but what im saying is, the western experiment, is falling apart at the seams, im sure we all see it at this point, most the other black folks i speak to are feeling pretty jumpy about it rn, my mother and my great aunt who hate each other and agree on nothing, are getting real strong get out vibes and pushing everyone to have passports. it feels like no matter where we look the white world is trying to position itself as being oppositional to and a defense against POC, the far right is gaining major traction enough in germany they are considering banning a political party(which they should) and that not to speak on much the rest of europe, which is trying to convince us not to be worried about the dudes waving nazi flags and making claims about russians being asian and thus being less human, american police violence just keeps going up to the point we aren't even safe in our own four walls, and much like the past they kill you and then take everything you owned so your family doesn't even get anything. france is proving how much distain it has for the people of africa living in its borders and the cops there are mad that they can't do even more extrajudicial violence against brown people. you got in nearly every EU nation at this point 1 or more parties who's whole thing is "we hate poc and immigrants and lgbt people" and they seem to be gaining support more than losing it.

so i guess im saying, is it worth staying in these places that just hate us? even when there is another place we can potentially go to that doesn't require us to do colonizer shit?

like don't get me wrong i get the idea, we been in x place 200, 300, 400 years why should i leave, my great grandpa had people like that in his life, they didnt make it long. but like you or i most likely aren't anywhere near where our families started in america or britian or france etc,(tho for us in settler states that shit gets even more complicated tbh) chances are your family much like mine has been pushed and pulled across the place to the point that we are damn near nomadic, we are the most if not the second most poverty stricken group in these places, we are more likely to be charged more for half par services goods and the state just refuses to support use to the extent where vast swaths of us are in food desert, areas with low access to internet services and more issues. i dont feel like we really leaving much behind except of course the friends and extended families we have made(which tbh is huge).

This shit sounds super doom and gloom and im aware of that, this isnt really for me to present a sunshine are roses situation, in fact i am really putting that on who ever sees this. if you can read what i laid out here and feel you have something constructive to say one way or the other, i wanna hear it. like i really want to hear both sides, this topic been around a long time, i feel its really about to become super relevent again and i'd like for as many of us to have discussed and thought about this as physically possible(talk to your families and friends about this too, they dont have to come reply)

He has many memories, especially from Black Swan, even if they're still sad lookin back @ em. But looking back, if he could choose any memory, he'd definetly describe a lil scene when he was extremely young, like somethin like 6/7 y/o.

Since he's always been really acceptin n empathetic he would've tried to help some of those lil foxes ya see in game, so just, playin in the snow w them, careless n just havin the best time, though there's really noone he knew, rather than just,him being primarly alone, which Is kinda strange cuz he likes bein round ppl, but for him it's oddly reassurin.

But any other memory w the gang/ruri Is still really dear to him.

Rui-

Hamjsjsk honestly y'know that i intended for em to have a love interest? Now It's kinda not there, I mean I can totally see a platonic relationships w Lyva honestly, but at the moment they don't have any type of romantic feeling to really anyone. At least at the moment 🚶‍♀️

Shou-

Ahkdkdwhjskdo idk what to say bout her that wasn't already said tbh😭😭 Like if I'd say somethin for her It would probably be her motivation to do anythin in her power?? Idk what else, every character Is gonna get development later on, so If anythin they'd all be changed😩

Naexi-

Oh yeah.

If anything they're probably the most skeptical about everyone, especially doin it throughout some kind of proves, really similar to what Shou did initially w Lyva n Rui, but like, even more subdule. Like with Shou's case it's different because now he relies on Qirian, but Naexi doesn't do It to really anyone.

Even later on really little changes on how she views their adventure companions. They don't see them as people as worthy as her life, if not for some details she sees that could be useful to em.

Qiran-

Honestly idk what to talk bout honestly. Like if anythin there's nothin more to add rather than what happened to their friends but i'd rather not go into It.

Oh, mabye a lil bit bout their aibility, since i did mention It like once n then didn't.

They basically have a connection through water, mainly comin because of their parents linaege, as they were a well-known family of mages. Their mother is one, though their father ain't, and that's also the reason they ain't a mage itself, though mantainin some kind of control over magic.

Their older other sister (but they have many other sibling) Is a mage n didn't really want to approve em goin round, and scholded em when they heard bout the Shou thingy(but they didn't know bout him bein a demon, more of "tf you doin at this dudes house" thing).

Idk of it's either them or Evelyns lil sis i wanna introduce tbh, I'll eventually see.

Syndra-

I'm currently rethinkin bout some aspects of her, but the thing Is that One thing still remains, that bein her motivation to desperatly reach anything she'd aimed for. It would do anything and doesn't care about the consequences,even if they're as bloody or as gorey, as she is thecnically on the Gray area, but like a bit darker.

Her headspace Is mainly a mess, that would make her do and had done many awful shit, even to humans. She doesn't know nor understand fully what any of the emotions It is feelin work, so for her, it's like a nightmare most of the time.

The only time she's really at ease it's when her friends are around that don't make her feel certain stuff that I'll talk bout another time.

Evelyn-

For him It's a big "Do shit, fuck 'round" situation, even in the gang. So if anythin they're gray, but slightly leadin into the white area, cuz she isn't as ruthless as Naexi or Shou are tbh (cuz yes fun fact Shou's also leadin like Naexi does), n would rather avoid any worthless death. But they would still make fun of ppl gettin in her way in fights n wouldn't feel too bad bout It.
