I’m not super proud of this it took a lot out of me to work on and I kinda tapped out halfway through but despite that I’ll post it because I haven’t shared stuff in awhile

With finals coming up next week I've been very busy, but here are some doodles I did of my own sorta Shadow and Sonic fusion! (More SU inspired kinda fusion)

I like to think that their first few times being fused they would be very unstable and thus their appearance would not be very cohesive either. Both hedgehogs would be constantly trying to fight over who is more in control of their shared body, only for them to eventually be defused and fight about who messed things up or something lol

But over time, as they master the ability more, and grow to understand eachothers' strengths and weaknesses more they will dtsrt to be a better team and their fusion will become more whole and more stable, becoming their own new combined enity of sorts! I've seen concepts of a sonic and shadow fusion in the past, and I know I am not at all the first person to do this lol, but still I wanted to draw my own version of Shadic ^^

I can totally picture a fake sonic game where the main gimick is sonic and shadow having to work together to defeat these extra powerful forces or enemies and that through fusion they realize they harness much more chaos energy and power and are capable of so much more, but they first gotta learn how to work together better 😁

There are a lot of othet things I've thought about for them, like their shoes in their unstable state are mismatched since they (as a fusion) cannot compromise on who they are and what they do, neither wants to give in and so their form has two different shoes for two different purposes making them less efficient and effective overall for running or skating, vs, in their stable form their shoes have combined where the shoe is made more for running but also has the airshoe capabilities to give them a boost and help each foot bounce off the ground easier with less muscular effort, making them much faster than they would normally be.

The “gameplay” aspect would start out as just switching between shadow and sonic and the initial fusion would kinda chaotic but would could still switch between using shadow and sonic except now they are the same entity, and you realize that their abilities are really janky all of the sudden, (this would be a scripted loss I think for a mini-boss fight) but then with some cutscenes and more of playing then individually you start to get more abilities of them working as a team and then when the fuse for the boss fights they would start getting better abilities and their model starts to appear more cohesive too!

By the end of the game they form a whole and complete entity of Shadic, and they are like the best parts of Sonic and shadow combined as they now work together seamlessly

The fusion would probably be due to some external magic/energy source that is for the purpose of the game, since that’s how Sonic games tend to be with new gimmicks and gameplay mechanics, so by the end of the game it would probably be destroyed or something after they defeat the big bad.

But you definitely get a really cool final boss fight as Shadic and maybe even a super Shadic who knows.

The energy is different when Ghost returns to his quarters at the end of the day. He has a new tension in his shoulders that not even the hot water of the shower can wash away.

It isn't until he joins you in bed that you find out why.

"M'gonna be gone tomorrow."

Those four words have you sitting upright in bed, a frown on your lips.

"Where?"

One of his hands comes up to caress your collarbone, then slides up to cup the side of your neck.

"To the city. We're gettin' closer."

You're not sure what he's getting closer to, but that's the least of your concerns right now.

"I will be alone?"

He shakes his head, "Johnny will be here. He'll take you to lunch 'n whatnot. But this is... how it's gonna be for a bit movin' forward. I won't be able to be around as much."

Your frown deepens.

You don't want to be away from him. Not for any longer than you have to. Especially now that you're on base.

You're not oblivious to the looks you've been getting from the other men here. More than once have you caught the unwanted wandering eye of someone. But every time without fail, your Ghost is able to scare them off. One sharp look toward them and a dark promise in his eye, and the offenders are looking away.

What are you going to do when he's gone?

Your mind flutters to the Corporals who tried to have their way with you, back when you first met Ghost. You've seen each of them around base, but never together and never quite like you did that night.

You'd like to keep it that way.

You can't help but pick at your fingers as you start to think of every bad thing that could possibly happen with him leaving.

"Hey, none of that. Look at me."

You obey, lifting your eyes to his in the dim light.

"Everything'll be okay. Johnny's not gonna let anything happen to you. I trust him with my life, you can too. 'N'm sure the men here know by now not to even think about you the wrong way. If not, m'happy to make an example outta them if I need to."

His free arm wraps around your waist and he tugs you to lie back down on the bed with him, snuggling you close to his body.

"A few more weeks, Mouse. Then I'll bring you home with me. You can forget everything and we'll start a new life together. How's that sound?"

How does that sound?

That sounds like everything you never thought you'd get. Everything you never thought you'd be allowed in life.

"Good." Is all you end up saying.

'Good' is also the one word you wouldn't use to describe how things are the days Ghost is gone.

The first day is the worst.

Obeying your Ghost's wishes, you accompany Soap to get lunch, sitting in silence as the piercing eyes of the other soldiers drag along your back.

And on the walk back, whispers erupt and more eyes are following you.

Soap -Johnny- isn't as effective at getting them back in their place. Sure, they keep a wide berth, but their eyes don't skitter to the ground the way they do when Simon's mean glare lands on them.

Maybe, you find yourself thinking, it's because Soap isn't all that different from the men around you.

Maybe he's thinking the very same things they are.

Ghost's words ring out in your ears that night as you lie awake.

'Johnny's not gonna let anything happen to you. I trust him with my life, you can too.'

Settling a bit, you decide that maybe you can trust Soap.

The other men, though? They don't get that luxury.

From that moment on, you vow not to leave his quarters again unless directly accompanied by Ghost.

The entire time he's gone, he can't help the odd feeling in his chest.

He's not looking in windows for your drawings or in shadows for your eyes. No, instead he's looking for more hostiles, more targets, more things standing between him and his Mouse. The future between the two of you.

The more people he kills, the faster they advance, the more ground they cover, the closer they are to success.

Success means taking you home. To his home, making it your home, too.

And his teammates aren't oblivious to the new fire beneath him.

He's always been good. A key asset to the team and arguably one of the best at what he does.

But this? This is like nothing they've ever seen before.

More than once, however, have they caught him looking at a piece of paper.

During the lulls, the safer moments when no one is shooting at them, a small piece of paper is in his hands and his eyes are tracing and re-tracing the drawings on it.

And when he gets back to base the following day, he feels excited.

His palms tingle and his stomach twists, and he feels a sense of relief when Soap greets him with a smile.

"How's she been?" He wastes no time on pleasantries, immediately making a b-line to his quarters.

"Haven't seen her much. She's been sayin' she's 'not hungry' since yesterday. She hasn't left since."

Simon's brows pull together as they come to a slow outside of his door.

He gives Soap a nod, watching as the man turns and leaves, then slowly pushes the door open.

"Mouse? You feelin' ok-"

He's cut off by you throwing yourself at him, wrapping your arms tightly around his frame and tugging him forward with such strength that he actually loses his footing for a moment.

His arm instinctively wraps around you as he stumbles, pulling you closer to his body.

He steadies himself then brings his other arm around your waist, hugging you tightly.

Your fingers slide up beneath the back of his balaclava to card through his sweaty hair as you nuzzle your nose into his chest.

He tugs the balaclava off then pulls your head back, dropping his lips to meet yours after far too long.

You sigh softly, melting into the kiss.

"You okay, Mouse?" He asks after a moment, pulling back to look at you closely.

Your eyes flutter open and you look up at him with dreamy eyes, nodding.

"Johnny tells me you haven' left the room. Why?"

His hands slide up until he's cupping your face, thumbs stroking your cheeks.

You close your eyes and hum softly, sliding your hands under the front of his sweater as you seek out his skin.

"The men... they... they do not trust. They stare... they... they say things... I do not like it. Not without you. They do not look when you are here."

He feels a tinge of anger bubble in his stomach, but he can't really blame them.

Does he understand where they're coming from? Yes. Absolutely. He wouldn't feel comfortable having them on the field with him if they blindly trusted you.

That being said, him trusting you should be enough.

The unspoken claim he has over you should be enough for them to not ask questions. It should be more than enough for them to keep their mouths shut when they see you.

"You just gotta... be around them more. They'll grow to trust you the more they see you."

You huff out a sigh and lean forward to kiss his lips softly once more.

"Don't want to without you."

He smiles against your mouth and slowly walks you back toward the bed, turning at the last minute and falling backward onto it, pulling you with him.

You land on top of him with a soft gasp, giggling wildly when he rolls over and peppers kisses over your face.

"M'gonna go shower, 'n then we're gonna go get dinner, 'n then... m'gonna bring you back here and you can have me all to yourself. How's that sound?"

You nod eagerly, smiling breathlessly when he rises to his feet and heads toward the bathroom.

The rest of the night is easy now that your Ghost is back.

Your meal is a lot more peaceful than the one you shared with Soap, with fewer eyes burning into your back.

And the time after is far better than when you're alone as well.

Soon enough, he's got you in bed, body exhausted and thrumming with the gentle aftershocks of your orgasms.

"I'll be leavin' again tomorrow. Want you to go with Johnny, just be around the men. It'll do ya good. N'then, soon enough, ya won't be doin' anythin' without me. I'll take you home 'n make you my pretty little housewife. Can have a garden or draw or cook, whatever makes you happy."

The words are whispered against the back of your neck.

While his lips brush your skin, his hand flexes against your stomach, pressing firmly against your lower abdomen where the carnal idea of a future with you is making his cock stir.

Your fingers trace over the back of his hand as your lids grow heavy.

"Where is home?" You ask quietly.

His warm chest is pressed against your back, the steady thrum of his heart better than any lullaby.

"Home is wherever you want it to be. S'long as m'with you, we'll make it home."

This is from a conversation I had with a friend about how Dermott and Hank would behave in this AU (its exactly the same as normal)

Ok now some thoughts on my design process

Hank: I think I drew Hank's face actually perfect, I made her so cute. I also feel like there's a common trope with genderbends where athletic characters get short hair so I gave her long hair and gave Dean short hair. I actually think the longer hair fits her perfectly. ALSO I LOVE HER BOOTS.

Dean: I gave goth Dean more Accessories than normal because normal goth dean had no fucking swag (it was besties idea to make her pants ripped). Even before I started drawing college Dean I knew I was giving her those legwarmers you can pry them from my cold dead hands. Same with the legwarmers I knew the first dean design needed a Jean skirt its just the vibes.

Dermott: The millisecond I even thought about doing Dermott I KNEW she would be 2012 grunge girl aesthetic. Gigantic shoplifting energy. Love her.

Rusty: I wanted her to look like a mean mom and I believe I accomplished that goal. Absolutely had to add the glasses strap. Very Jamie Lee Curtis.

Brock: I drew the one with the hair down first and my friends preferred the one with the hair up so I just did both. I wonder if she was a cheerleader in college and killed another girl on her cheer squad by throwing her too far/dropping them.

21: I drew 21 then I realized I had just drawn myself with bangs. Also I drew her with a blunt because there's an episode where 21 has a joint in his mouth the whole episode the other henchmen are standing in stupid poses in the background and its maybe one of my favorite bits in the entire show its so stupid.

24: 24 took several attempts to get the hair right I kept drawing it short and curly and my friend told me to give her Elaine from Seinfeld hair which I think ended up working really well.

Monarch: One of my favorites I did. I feel like this one you can definitely tell how Bayonetta completely re-arranged my brain chemicals as teenager. I love the hip cutouts, I made a tummy cutout to kind of mimic how Dr.GF's monarch costume is kinda skimpy. It's also hard to tell because of the cowl but I tried to give her like a finger waves hairstyle.

Dr.Gf: I tried a bunch of different hats but my friends liked the brimless hat the most and completely doomed him into looking like a Bellhop (more than he already did). Its giving Tyler the Creator at the 2020 Grammys. I still think he's cute though :)

Billy: I really didnt want to just draw her in a suit because thats boring. The show always gives me 60s vibes despite being set in modern day (I'm sure its on purpose) and I definitely channeled that with Billy. It took a couple tries to find a balance between fitting her body but still looking adult but I think I got it in the end.

Pete: YAYYYY PETE YAAAAYY!!! ^_^ Shes so Ava Max Coded. I also gave her giant buckles on her shoes to match his stupid ass one two buckle my shoes ass shoes.

Triana: Very much looks like putting emo boy in the Pinterest search bar. I made her thigh highs into his sleeves and I gave him square bangs like her.

Dr. Orpheus: NEEDED to make her a hot milf and I did. Its a little hard to see but her shirt has lace over the open part. I love the hair Jewerly at the bottom of her braid. :)

Hiii can you write a Ivan x reader fic where reader has vision impairment?

Ivan loves stars, so he takes reader to stargaze with him. He yaps about the stars and what they mean (he read a lot of books about them) all night long. Reader doesn't really see anything in the sky, so they don't know what he's talking about but they love hearing him talk. They listen to the things Ivan says about the stars and imagine them themself.

When the nights end, they write down everything in a diary, drawing the stars according to what they think they'd look like. Ivan doesn't know about Reader's vision impairment. So, when Reader gave him their diary for him to read, he saw all the things he said written down with multiple wrong pictures drawn above.

A star.

A star is a concept you heard many times since childhood, but yet you were never able to see it. A star is always described to you as something gorgeous in the sky, but your eyes arent able to see it— Ah, you feel envy for missing things that are small for others.

Such a foreign concept was explained many times since years ago to you by Ivan, a guy who got into the same season of Alien Stage as you and, luckily, became close one random day —without even asking for permission to follow you around— thanks to ANAKT GARDEN. It didnt feel that bad, the lessons you received there, thanks to Ivan being by your side.

It became a tradition that atleast one night of the week, you two would go to the garden part of ANAKT to look at the sky while he ranted your ear off about the visible stars— something he admired a lot and loved how you heared everything he had to say. Everytime he learned something new, he was excited to find you since you would actually hear him, but he kept them for those special nights at the end.

But still, there were unspoken things between you two, even if those nights were completely honesty for both. The definition of "lie" doesnt enter in this concept, or atleast thats what you two think, since there was never the need to mention that you didnt see the stars as Ivan did— or that he never mentioned that the sky of the garden in ANAKT was artificial and just a recreation of the outside.

Night had fallen, and Ivan came to your room to guide you to the garden, where you lay on the grass to watch the stars together— even if you werent able to. Ivan laughs slightly and started talking as always, but an idea came to your mind. Maybe if you paid more attention than usual, listening to him intently, you could try to draw a star from his descriptions and finally see if you truly knew what a star was.

"You know, the other day i read on a book that for at least part of its life, a star shines due to the thermonuclear fusion of hydrogen into helium in the core of it, which releases energy. This energy travels through the star's interior and is then radiated into outer space!" - Ivan started ranting and you blinked confused

You got frozen for a moment— thermonuclear fusion? helium? The hell is that!? and was he really allowed to read those books? You didnt have an idea what he was talking about right now since it seems today's talk goes more to the scientific side than the 'stars are pretty' side...

Still, you tried your best to hear his explanation, trying to imagine what a star would look like...energy? So its like a ball? a white ball...? You usually didnt interrupt Ivan, letting him make the flow of the conversation, but since today you were curious, you asked him small questions about some words you didnt know the meaning of or tried to figure out the shape of a star

After letting Ivan rant you of the stars a couple of hours, he guided you to your room again since tomorrow the lessons with the guardians start pretty early, he didnt want you to be tired. He smiles teasingly at you while walking.

"You know, youre like my star! Youre just as bright at them!"

You couldnt help but blush slightly, touched by his compliment. Even if you had never seen one, you trusted him— trusted that they were utterly gorgeous, and thats why he talked about them so much to you. Your smile made Ivan's heart ache for warmth. Couldnt he keep talking about stars in your bedroom? Would that be wrong?

"Really...? Then, youre my star too Ivan!" - The smile you gived him spoke volumes between you two, but Ivan rarely decided to not push it. Patting your head and going away so you can rest.

But as you entered your solitary room, you knew pretty well you werent gonna rest today. You focused your energy on making several notes in a small journal you had, filling it with lots of informations, several question marks and certain information marked with exclamations— other totally scratched because you dont remember if Ivan said it or you didnt understand it.

Once you thought that the information was done by now, you started to try sketching it, but it was hard— how could something that produces light be spiky but also different when you see it on the sky? It was a hard concept to draw, more since the only part you remember from how stars look are small fragments of Ivan's rants and the cientific explanation of today— it was making your drawings looks like you were falling into madness, you kinda were though...

Being in a room with four walls, no windows, and no clock made it difficult to know what time it was— but you knew you had been on this for a while. The way your head hurt from trying to understand what the heck thermonuclear fusion meant told you pretty much everything about the time!

In the end, after endless pages of failed attempts, you decided to summarize the most important information on a final page, where you also added three clean sketches of what you thought stars looked like. Did you get it right? You hope so.

For now, you're going to sleep and recharge your energy before meeting Ivan again.

The morning started with the usual breakfast, and then you had to go to your vocal class. It seemed that today, Ivan had a different schedule than yours, so, gathering a lot of courage, you yanked him into a secluded hall to talk. Your heart beat fast as you saw his surprised blinks at you— this could get you in trouble! But the journal on your back, held so tightly that you could swear you were about to fold it, calmed you a little.

Ivan got excited! Even if it could be dangerous for you two to miss classes, he grinned from ear to ear and tilted his head - "Aww! Missing me already?? We could had meet later, but if youre that desesperate i guess i can—"

You made him shut up a moment by putting your hand over his mouth, huffing and grumbling for him to shut up a second since you had something to show him, and how could he say no to that? He quickly shaked his head excitedly up and down, what could you want to show him?

As you shyly showed him the page with your idea of a star, he blinked confused, then decided to take the journal from your hands without thinking too much. You knew very well that if he was curious, he wouldnt let you take it back anytime soon, so you felt the need to quickly explain yourself— tripping slightly over your words, as guilt crept in for never mentioning your little problem to him before.

"Uhm, i tried...drawing a star, i uhm— actually never saw them, so i tried to recreate them from what you said to me! Since you admire them so much and all..."

Ivan was in shock, deciding to see through the other pages where you had written down information and sketched other discarded ideas. Even if you felt embarrassed, he didnt notice— too focused on examining them. All the concepts you had sketched were wrong. He wasnt mad, though; he understood pretty well that if someone who had never seen a star tried to draw one based only on a scientific or creative explanation, it wouldnt be easy.

Still, he left a small smile— a genuine one that reflected the deep warmth you made him feel. Even if this was the only way you acknowledged him, who else would want to listen to him rant about stars all night? Only you.

Ivan closed the journal only with one hand and turned to see you, when he saw your nervous gaze, he wondered why couldnt you see the stars, he had a little idea— but you know what? it didnt matter now. He had plenty of time to ask you later. - "They're all wrong."

He simply said and your heart sinked into sadness, he was mad right? after all, you kept that secret from him and...he patted your head? you felt your hair being ruffled, and when you looked up you finded him still with a big smile that showed his fang.

"Heeyy!! You didnt let me finish, dummy... It was my fault though, i gived you too difficult ideas, didnt i? My bad. Lets meet tonight and i'll show you what a true star looks like, how people draw them and why they're so gorgeous...just like you! Anyways, lets meet on the night, i dont want to cause you trouble now, bye lovely!"

He said, pushing you back toward the hall where your vocal class was. He gave you a kiss on the head, and you felt your cheeks grow warmer as you hugged the journal to your chest. He didnt even question you or blame you for anything. No matter what you did, Ivan wouldnt get mad at you… Hearing him talk endlessly about stars is the least you can do for him, after all.

You may have gotten every concept wrong, but hey! That just means tonight's talk will be even longer, you'll have more time with Ivan!

Ivan was truly your light, your star, just as you were his one. It wont take long until you two collide into each other creating a more vibrant light in this space of darkness.

Okay so I have more thoughts on the Ithaca Saga, about Athena & Odysseus' relationship, and how it ends.

Spoilers ahead, for those who have not listened

This all came to me when I was listening to I Can't Help But Wonder. I couldn't stop thinking about what I kinda saw before as an offhanded phrase from Warrior of the Mind.

"Sounds like a plan, goddess and man, bestest of friends!"

"We'll see how it ends."

At the time, I thought this was just characterization for Athena. She's a goddess, she's very professional, and like the other gods we see she is somewhat dismissive of mortals and their emotions.

But we've seen how it ends now. The relationship is fractured beyond repair. There isn't resentment anymore, and Athena is the one reaching out to Odysseus, similar to how she did in Warrior of the Mind but not for the purpose of shaping him, not with the same professional tone. Athena has changed a lot, and is reaching out with compassion, with empathy, with care. She wants to be friends again.

But Odysseus changed a lot too.

He's exhausted. He has fought tooth and nail for decades to get home. He's been beaten, bruised, tortured without end. And Athena abandoned him so early in his journey. She wasn't there to help, to support. She didn't even watch it happen as it happened, she caught herself up after the fact in Love in Paradise. Athena did a lot that Odysseus didn't see, like take a lightning bolt to get him off Calypso's island, but even if Odysseus knew that I don't think it would be enough.

Odysseus is done with the fighting. He is done with the pain, the work, the strife. He's done with the gods. And that includes Athena. He just can't do it anymore.

When Athena said "We'll see how it ends." She thought she would be the one to end this. But she's wrong. Odysseus doesn't have the energy to repair the shattered relationship. He finally has control over his life again, and that life doesn't fit Athena.

I didn't do a ton of theorizing about what would happen in the final saga, with the exception of one thing. I thought Athena was going to be far more present. From what I understand about the Odyssey, which I have not read in its entirety but have had to read several sections of it for classwork, and I've sought out different summaries and discussions about it out of curiosity, Athena is very involved in the ending. So, that's sort of what I expected to happen in Epic. I knew Penelope and the Suitors would get their own songs before Odysseus would start killing people, but I figured that Odysseus, Telemachus, and Athena would get their own number somewhere in between Penelope's song and when Odysseus starts his murder-spree. I didn't know how the relationship would end, but I had figured that there would be some kind of reconciliation, and then the murdering would have a little bit more of a vibe like Little Wolf, albeit far darker.

None of this is to say I dislike where Jorge decided to take the final saga, I think it is deeply interesting and absolutely crushing how he decided to handle it. Honestly all this yapping hardly has a real thesis or point, I just wanted to get the thoughts out of my head.

I suppose the closest thing to an conclusion I can draw from this is that Jorge completely subverted my expectations, and crushed my soul in the process.

10/10, wouldn't change a thing.

I did a whole bunch of drawings for Jason's team two weeks back, so now its time to concentrate on Steph's team! Here we've got 4 new characters for her team, with a couple extra tomorrow as well. Lets go into to them, one by one.

First up is the lantern for the group, more specifically a Violet Lantern apprentice aka Miri Riam! Her reasons for coming to earth is unknown at the moment but they seem to have some connection to Carol Ferris. Carol's also a Violet Lantern and Hal's(Green Lantern) on-and-off girlfriend and occasional antagonist. Perhaps Miri was sent to become Carol's apprentice? I've got more info on whats happening there, but thats for later.

As for why Miri was chosen for the group, I knew I wanted some kind of Lantern for the team, but couldn't find a green lantern that was both in Steph's age group and have fun interactions with them. But then I thought, does it have to be a green lantern? I had a red lantern for Jason's group after all. I looked around and found Miri! I don't know her exact age but I knew she was a young adult, so I'm just gonna have her be around Steph's age group.

The Violet Lanterns Corps are very ...enthusiastic about the power of love and Miri's no exception. She wants everyone to know the joy of Love, she's honestly kinda annoying about it. I remember this one GL issue where she was destroying a city just to get Kyle and Soranik to resolve their love troubles. That pretty much became the basis for how I'm writing Miri's personality. Like I said above, I'll get more into Miri at a later time.

Next is Maxine Hunkel aka Cyclone, granddaughter of Ma Hunkel aka the golden age Red Tornado! I already posted a drawing of her a while back, I thought she'd make a fun fit for the team. She's has such high energy and so much enthusiasm I couldn't help but find her utterly endearing. I think at a later point she'll end up joining the JSA but for now she's just having fun with this team.

Btw I thought that maybe her grandmother, Ma Hunkel, could fit a similar role that the other Red Tornado did for Young Justice, helping out a young hero team. Just a way to emphasize how Steph and Tim's teams can serve as foils to each other.

Next up is the archer of the group, Mia Dearden aka Speedy II. Tho she should probably have a different name due to Roy still being Speedy atm. Maybe Speedette? Ehhh, gotta workshop that.

Anyways here's Mia and Steph meeting as civilians, with Mia showing off her bow. Mia seems to be in some sort of school uniform, perhaps Oliver is sponsoring her to go to a fancy academy? Her backstory is similar to canon, with Oliver saving her from bad people. I'm not sure if her story should be exactly the same as canon, since Mia is 10 but terrible things like that do happen in real life to young children. But I don't know if a goofy au like mine is the best place to show that. But for now lets just say Mia is currently trying to heal and become a hero like Green Arrow.

I imagine Steph and Mia get along really well, they just get each other in a lot of ways. Steph can see Mia might be hurting inside and wants to cheer her up, hopefully with all of Mia's new friends she can.

Last up is Jaime Reyes aka Blue Beetle III. Unfortunately I haven't drawn him all that much so no individual drawing for him, tho I do like him.

As for why Jaime, I remember liking him in the YJ cartoon and found him pretty likeable in the comics as well. But I've always like the spiderman hero archetype anyways, which Jaime fits really well (I mean, it was done on purpose). Static and Sideways also fit the archetype and are in the team as well. Arguably you can say add Steph to this too, probably more than Tim in my personal opinion.

Another reason I wanted to add Jaime is that he and Steph almost became teammates in canon, in a failed Young Justice project. What could have been huh. Third reason is more silly tho, if Barbara and Ted Kord start to date in this au, imagine how grossed out Steph and Jaime will be lmao.

So there's four new teammates for the team, but! I've got a couple extra for tomorrow! And later on I hope to finally post some more doodles of these characters (some of them are real old, more than a year old). Especially Miri, she turned out to be such a fun character, and I've always liked the all the lantern corps. Here's a bonus doodle of them btw (with bonus unmasked Sideways):

Remember when I said these two knew how to play instruments? It was just a teeeeensy thing in a post- yeah here's both of them playing a pretty iconic melody cuz what the hell and holy shit drawing instruments is HARD LMAO

I got skill issued with this piece so bad and I know the piano keys are wrong but I do not have the energy to care about it right now-

Context of the picture is them just practicing, this was taken before they graduated senior high so it's not actually that far back but it's old enough. They don't look all that pleased considering it's like the twentieth time they've played that piece again just to get it perfectly right. Ford literally wouldn't shut up about it until they did despite Stan being slightly annoyed by it and his inability to keep up sometimes on faster pieces HAHAHAHA

ANYWAY- yes, Ford isn't wearing his gloves because it's harder for him to play when he is and Stan plays the violin because he lost a game of rock paper scissors with his brother... well it's more than that but basically they wouldn't stop fighting over the piano(classic case of siblings pissing each other off for the sake of pissing each other off) and they had a best of three with rock paper scissors to see who had to learn a second instrument and Stan lost LMAO

Good on him though for sticking to his word though, so he picked up the recorder in the meantime while trying to decide on a duet instrument. Problem being he couldn't really learn the recorder much before he found his snapped in two at some point in his room(Filbrick). So he tried something else, the violin.

That thing stuck, even until college he still knows how to play the violin and play it well. Stanley just rarely practices where people can accidentally hear him or stumble into him because he'd rather not get bombarded with music requests.

Ford actually did give up playing the piano at some point though, mostly because he's always pestered to keep his gloves on while practicing(Filbrick) and he's sadly too impatient to actually get used to such a thing when he knows he's already much better off without the gloves. He hasn't forgotten how to play though, he just refuses outright for the most bit.

It's pretty upsetting to watch him practice sometimes though because he's that piano player that slams on the keys when he's pissed enough and his perfectionist tendencies really doesn't help when he misses a note or screws up the tempo. Stan's gotten pretty good at notifying him about it though since neither would want to accidentally deal with a broken piano from Ford breaking something in the mechanisms from hitting the keys too hard.

It's actually happened once before when they first started out and the earful he got for it plus some pretty unsavory things(Filbrick) I won't specify had kind of low-key traumatized both of the twins.

Also if you do notice, Stan's shirt is the same design as the one he has in college. It's not because it's the same shirt, he bought the same design after he wore this one to shreds because it's comfy. I don't even know what to say about it cuz that's kinda it chat HAHAHAHAHHA

A bit ago I did a whole-ass set of warlocks based on D&D 5e subclasses - mostly for fun and also because my RP group was planning a warlock game. I didn't HAVE to draw one of each but doing so DID help me decide which one I wanted to play (this is, to note, why the characters are all pretty fem-coded - because that's my favorite to RP) Anyway, after I drew them all, folks asked if I'd do other classes too. And I was like, maybe? But, sorcerer did sound fun to do this with so over the last few months I've been working on them kinda on the side while I put most my energy in, like, the commissions I need to finish lol. But here, a bunch of theoretical sorcerers I'd personally play in a game:

Let's start us off with Iris, a half-elf who'd be living a pretty normal life in a normal job (I was thinking she was probably a waitress or somethin) until she finds something weird - a piece of a meteor or something, you know how it goes. Suddenly she has powers, and that's where her adventure would begin More sorcerers under the cut!

Tally I struggled with because, as it turns out, little mechanical fairy wings are complicated to draw. BUT also fun - I liked the idea of a fairy who's lost her wings and while she's trapped in the material plane she befriends a clockmaker who builds her little wings for her and eventually her magic ends up kind of syncing up with the mechanical way he teaches her about the world

Elysia was actually the last one I drew, since I have a DIFFERENT Divine Soul sorcerer I've already designed and want to play as a priority, but then I happened to see something about Greek gods while watching TV one day and thought, oh hey, that'd be a fun way to play with a divinity-themed sorcerer - maybe a musician that caught the affections of a god who blessed her with magic

Cherish is a cheerful tiefling working at an inn with her former-adventurer mother. We can guess what sort of things her mother got up to in her adventure since she ended up raising a child with some mysteriously draconic features

NGL Aine was just a way for me to play with some of the inspirations I used to cling to as a kid. Sailor Moon and other various bits of anime and JRPGs and such that I loved in my youth and used a LOT to inspire art. I wanted to remember that - and a catgirl wearing too many belts sounded perfect for that

Leila is probably my weirdest - she's SPECIFIC, like if there's a campaign set in the Shadowfell or something, I imagined a maid working in a mansion that gets magicked away to this realm and her gaining that shadow power when it happens

One of my first 5e characters was a storm sorcerer - more focused on rain and lightning and thunder. I used the same hair color and close to the same skin color to make this new storm sorcerer as a bit of a nod to that character, and wanted this one more focused on winter storms (including making her a winter eladrin elf)

and last but certainly not least, Gemma the halfling cursed with wild magic. I think she started off her adventuring life with a thieves' group before they found the wrong magic artifact. You know how it goes

Eyes of the SEES members ~

I’ve always admired artstyles where every character has super unique and recognizable vibes, so decided to try it with the gang. Super fun, highly recommend!

In the process of designing these I developed headcanons for each of their eyes, kind weird but if you want to read me ranting about why I drew Yukaris pupils a certain way or whatever, feel free to click read more lol.

Makoto: I wanted him to look tired, so a lot of his eyelashes go downward instead of upwards, also eye bags because he has insomnia and you can’t convince me otherwise. I didn’t want his eyes to look hollow/empty, but I didn’t want to put super obvious highlights and I think it works? Idk. Also drew his eyes in a way that reminds me of the ocean at night (Atlus gave me a ocean/water motif and I run with it ok?). His eyebrows are kinda “messy” in comparison to the others but I think it makes his eyes prettier so it is in character to me.

Yukari: I wanted her eyes to look a little more intense and turned them a little to give them a slightly “angry look”. Yukari should have a light case of rbf imo. I feel like Yukari puts a lot of effort into her appearance, and she probably wears more makeup but I cannot draw that to save my life lmao. Her eyebrows are probably the least messy other than Mitsurus, for the same reason as the previous one. Also hard to tell, but I put hearts in her pupils because it’s cute. Really proud of these ones, they read like hers so well to me.

Junpei: Junpeis eyes were so fun to draw! I feel like he’d have pretty short lashes and slightly smaller eyes, but still very vibrant! I really wanted his eyes to look full of life but still pretty simple, and I think I did pretty well! They feel very expressive to me. Also I feel like he’d have naturally very thin eyebrows, so gave him that lol.

Akihiko: idk how I feel about these, but I guess they’re alright? Gave him a kinda intense stare ig. I gave him really long natural eyelashes because I feel like he’d have them (canonical pretty boy that he is) and I’m somewhat proud of them because I stuggle with making longer eyelashes look masculine so guess this is a win. Gave him an eyebrow slit because I was so sure he had one in p4arena only to find out he didn’t even have eyebrows in it. What.

Fuuka: I feel like Fuukas neutral expression would still look slightly confused/concerns so her eyes are a little droopy. Gave her short but thick eyebrows because I thought it would be cute. Her eyes kinda remind me of rain and I like that! Also sidenote love the fact that official art draws fuuka with teal eyebrows. The implication that she was either born with teal hair or is so dedicated to the dye job she even dyed her eyebrows is hilarious to me. I know blue is treated as a normal hair color in persona-universe but Fuuka is literally the only one with teal hair how is it not dyed but yosuke and chies is??

Mitsuru: I wanted Mitsuru to be pretty. I gave her thinner but crisp eyebrows and eyeliner. I was a little worried because before I started shading her eyes looked kinda evil?? Lol but they turned out better in the end. Didn’t do a lot of details in her eyes because it felt like it worked better that way, but gave her bright highlights in her eyes to make up for it.

Aigis: These are my least favorite, and the first ones I did. Not sure if thats awful, because I wanted them to be very different from the rest. I feel like Aigis doesn’t actually have this wide eyes but willingly widens them so you can see the whole iris. I feel like her eyes would look more normal at a distance, and most of her classmates just assume she’s got weird eyes because they’re an uncommon eye color (major “give her brown contacts please” energy). Made her eyes look like does target-thingys and slightly plastic-y.

Ken: I didn’t want his eyes to be to bright, but still lively and childish. I gave him round wide eyes + smaller and thicker eyebrows to give a more childish feel. His eyelashes are pretty short but made them point more downwards since they looked too cheerful when turned upwards.

Shinjiro: dunno how readable these are as shinji, but theyre fine. Made his eyes very dark and put bright highlights cause I thought it looked better than the grey he actually has. Also gave him major eyebags because man has not had a good nights rest since like. Last October (sorry)

IDW collection reading update! :D 📖 (Fixed!)

Phase 2 volume 4 done! This volume included: Monstrosity, RID issues 12-18 and MTMTE issues 14-16!

I ended up reading all the way to Phase 2 volume 6 before finishing this update so my notes are a bit scattered! Anyway! As usual my thoughts are below :3 ⤵️

Monstrosity:

This story is set in the past, when Optimus has assumed leadership on Cybertron after the senate and pervious primes were killed.

This story is, I dunno... For some reason I can't really get into these?? It feels... edgy?? Idk, I feel like that's not the best way to describe it. But there's something about the vibe with these ones in the past (like Autocracy and this one).

Of course everyone is becoming the characters we know since this is in the past. So there is going to be a lot of fumbling and growing from them and things that seem out of character. But given their situation at the time, i can't be super harsh on odd decisions.

They have to deal with the senate and their corruption, as well as that from the previous primes, the Decepticons uprising and wanting to take over, Cybertron running out of resources aaaaand I feel like something else I can't remember rn 🤔 but a lot is going on!! Haha.

There is a scene that references the OG animated movie where they toss Megatron out of Astrotrain and he goes "I still function...!" Which was a pretty cool homage tho.

But this kinda felt like a whole way to just show how badass Megs is meanwhile Optimus is going through it on Cybertron 😂 It was entertaining and interesting at parts, but some things I was 'eh' about

RID: 12-16:

Before i go on, I'm sorry, but... this Megs panel is giving me the same energy as that little alien guy that was in the news months ago 🤣 Now actually⤵️

Megatron returns!! This story was very entertaining!! I feel like I can usually guess where something is going, but I was surprised by a lot of the twists here! There was so many!

The character deaths had me shook! 😭 Wheeljack ahhhh!!! Metalhawk!! Also everything with Prowl and the Constructions! O_O;

I'm sorry Prowl 😔 I was pretty surprised when they started killing off the Decepticons at first, but then went: "Well, I guess he's being super ruthless now" I couldn't see you were brainwashed!! 😭🗿To my defense, him teaming up with Arcee and given Arcee's record, it kinda seemed like the natural progression of things lol 💀

Two things I kinda have mixed feelings about tho are:

1. Arcee just casually being part of the Decepticon gang and no one questioning her being there?? She then easily kills the guy controlling Devastator and that was like... Megatron's big plan. Why didn't she do it sooner? I imagine it was to draw out Meg's, but still it seemed weird.

2. Starscream killing Metalhawk after Metalhawk came to save Starscream. It's in his character and everything, and I'm happy that he did it bc it shows who he is. But OOF I thought he was leaning a different way for a bit and that I had Starscream wrong, But no, he's greedy boy. (I was starting to like Metalhawk T_T)

Anyway! Good guy Swindle!! 🥹

MTMTE 14-16:

💀💀💀💀💀 BIG SAD. But!!! It was a super interesting story!! I really enjoyed learning about Overlord and Chromedome.

Chromedome becoming Trepan's apprentice in the past was crazy!! :O And the whole scene with him and Prowl in Prowl's office. When Prowl asks/threatens Chromedome to go into Overlord's mind 😙👌 *chef's kiss* GET 'EM CHROMEDOME!! 💪👊🔪

The whole thing about how the Phase Sixers are made was very interesting too!! This frame ⤵️ Meg's saying this made me lmao 😂 I can now see the thing between him and Overlord better now.

As for Overlord getting out and obliterating some of the crew... ughhhhh 😭😭😭 Pipes man!! Ratchet protecting the medibay was awesome. Best doctor 🚑😌

I was shocked during the fight with Overlord that Magnus got so injured!! I've read ahead already, but I was sweating it, I thought he was gonna die too 😭😭 Overlord goes right for your spark man 💀

Luckily they got Overlord back to his containment cell, but- 😭😭😭😭 LITTLE MAN 😭😭😭 Why'd he have to hop in there to get the sword??? OTL

Then Chromedome blowing it up once the cell disengaged from the ship 😭 It was a perfectly painful sequence! 👏

When I saw the scene with Whirl and the cannon/ blaster shooting asteroids, I knew it would come around 😔

Also!! Learning that Chromedome has had other deep connections with bots (idk if Brainstorm meant Conjunx' specifically) and given them his innermost energon before and that's why he's dry!! Excuse me as I sob 🤧🤧🤧🤧😭😭😭😭 and then he makes himself forget!!! UGHH OTL My heart man!

RID 17-18:

We got more Shockwave lore here and I'm a big Shockwave enjoyer so I was very happy!! More heartache of course tho 😢

Him pitching/making the Jhiaxian academy of advanced technology is huge. Then all the experiments he did once he was turned purple 💀💀💀

Him going to Dai Atlas and injuring him before the attack on the senate so that he would escape death was a cool surprise. He's still in there ;_; ahhhh.

There is another story that happens in current time where Bee gets turned into Goldbug, but I think he's called "Goldfire" here? 🤔 He really got injured during the whole thing with Meg's so they had to fix him up with pieces of his old earth form.

It was cool to see included in the story :3

Final Random Thoughts:

This volume had a bunch of great stories in it! And I learned quite a bit about characters I like!

Though it was sad, I'd say my favorite story was the mtmte one with Overlord (The Overlord arc?). The art is always fantastic and so is the story!

I look forward to reading more and I'll be making another reading update very soon since I'm already on volume 6!

I didn't want to lump them all together bc I like using images as the story breaks and Tumblr only let's you use 10 per post 😔 Also... I ramble quite a lot haha, so 3 volumes worth would definitely be too much! 😂

I actually wrote an essay on why I ship Blossutch a loooong time ago, maybe I can still reblog it if I can find it. But for now I'll talk about other headcanons that I think I haven't discussed yet.

TW: Self Harm,

Honestly, when it comes to Blossutch you need to lock me in a cold dark room to write/draw hundreds of pages of slow-burn, romance-in-the-background, completely unexpected dark-horse Blossutch so that y'all can see my vision for real. The feeling Blossutch gives off for me is that they have that one random episode where they are locked in a room together and they have a Breakfast Club moment where they realize there is more to each other than they thought.

Also, I have always been a superhero/action lover and I think that Blossom and Butch are literally the best fucking duo if they ever had to fight together. Like Blossom being the strategist and Butch being the brawns except he actually listens to her because frankly, I think he deals with bossy the best (see Brick and Butch's dynamic). And I think Blossom would be able to put Butch's strengths to good use. On that note, I headcanon that the first time Butch sees Blossom in a school setting, his mind is literally blown. Like how are you the leader of the strongest superhero group, but also a fucking...NERD. A tightly wound, prissy, teacher's-pet type person? Because of that, I headcanon that a part of Butch would like to see Blossom, a typically cool-headed person, go absolutely apeshit. And I especially would love to see this desire to blow up in Butch's face. When Blossom is finally driven to the edge, Butch feels the utmost regret and will now do anything for her to get back to how she was before.

I also headcanon that Butch seeks destruction to the point where he will even resort to self-destruction. Banging his head against the wall, scratching until he bleeds, banging his body against things, etc. His body, this physical vessel that he's in, always feels like a nuisance. He’s always been insecure about his body, Part of his performance of shamelessness and cockiness comes from ignoring his physical body. He hates looking at himself in the mirror. He feels disgusting. At the same time, he embraces being disgusting, but it’s not enough to feel secure in himself. Butch would probably feel the most satisfied if he were a boundless whirlwind storm that could tear down everything in his way without worrying about his body at all. In my eyes, Butch is a physical manifestation of unrest: always feeling unwell, an insomniac, and always unsatisfied. He hurts people both willingly and unwillingly, but more often willingly since y’know, he is a bad guy. He is constantly bored, so he stirs up a shit ton of trouble. On the bright side, he has a lot of energy and is easily the life of the party.

Blossom, on the other hand, searches for order and needs order. She's the complete opposite of Butch, and yet she is also restless. As in, as she gets older, she gets more and more tired of the Sysiphian cycle of good vs. bad. As much as she tries to maintain goodness, a new evil or problem arises. And due to the amount of responsibility she takes on, she spends a lot of time alone doing pretty boring shit. Butch constantly brings chaos to Blossom's life and it seriously tests her, but it also brings fun into her life. In other words, he makes her life a lot less boring. Without him, life would just pass Blossom by and she would miss out on a lot of shit. I headcanon that Butch always includes her in things, even if she doesn't want to, and I think it's just a funny dynamic. Also one of my favorite headcanons is that Blossom kinda looks for creative ways to bridge their very different interests. For example, she looks for classical music that is chaotic and even a little sinister. "In the Hall of the Mountain King" by Grieg and specifically the last minute of "1812 Overture Finale" (for the cannons of course). She'll find videos that she thinks he'll like or videos that remind her of him and make him watch those videos with him (Lady Gaga/Ke$haesque music, freaky science, dirty jokes, and other funny stuff). They also love superhero comics (for different reasons) and are interested in true crime (but in a news report way, not in those shitty ass podcasts/channels). Actually, usually when Blossom talks to Butch (whether it’s during friendship or relationship) she will ramble about pieces of history that might interest him (like dark or funny history), fictional lore of certain horror movies, and other stuff. Butch listens pretty closely because she has become attuned to what Butch is also interested in. She loves the over-the-top reactions Butch gives to things. It makes her feel like the things she says are important and interesting, The best part is that she knows he’s not faking. Blossom is such a strong, smart, and beautiful character who takes on so much, yet is treated like shit. And for what? Being bossy? Bitch, she’s the leader. Yall don’t give a fuck when Brick is being a bossy little shit. She is constantly taken down a peg and for what?? She’s more talented than most of yall at just 5 years old. Blossom holds the whole world on her fucking shoulders, I don’t care if she’s in a relationship or not, Blossom deserves to be treated like the intelligent person she is while still pushed to relax occasionally.

In my own head, I can think of Blossom and Butch having a conversation over everything. Every media I encounter, every Tiktok I watch, and everything I learn. I find it very funny to have Blossom pretend to disapprove of everything Butch does or says and the same for Butch.to find a lot of joy in her disgusted face. He would have a loud and explosive laugh, so contagious that even Blossom can’t help but laugh with him. Meanwhile, Butch finds that Blossom has interesting reactions to things. He finds it fun to say and do crazy, outlandish things just to see how Blossom would react. I personally headcanon that Blossom becomes more stoic over time, so Butch is also testing just how stoic Blossom actually is. Additionally, I believe they test gender roles, believe it or not. Blossom being this stoic, reliable, and decisive girl, while Butch is this emotional, domestic, and flamboyant boy. Blossom is often Butch’s rock. Butch often does drag and wears makeup. Blossom wears suits and can be cold, mysterious, and calculating. Additionally, I headcanon that Butch is unable to hold down any one job. He can’t come to work everyday for a consistent schedule, he has days where he is incredibly motivated and days where he cannot be bothered. His strength is more with domestic work, as the only brother who was awake in the morning, he was the one doing most of the chores around the house. He cooks and he cleans as much as a young boy without parental figures would, and he does it because someone has to or else the RRB would fall apart. Butch is like the faulty glue that keeps the RRB together, and I say faulty because he lacks the emotional intelligence to be an effective glue. Even though he manages to keep good relationships with Brick and Boomer individually, he doesn’t have the courage to bridge the gap between Brick and Boomer without ruining his image in both of their eyes (more so Brick’s eyes). Yet, if it weren’t for Butch’s inability to maintain peace between them, none of the boys would have been able to grow into their own persons, with their own personalities. None of these colorcrack ships would have happened without Butch’s cowardness. But because they do come to become their own people, Blossom can see that evil and good is not as black and white as she made them out to be. She would come to see everything that is admirable about Butch, his strong spirit, his diligence, his hype-man nature, more specifically his supportive nature, and construct a new ideology. Butch thinks that her spirit is much stronger since he is a shipwreck while she is a powerful, put-together marine engine. She has all the words that Butch is missing. To him, her wisdom and intelligence is so boundless, that he put his whole trust into her that everything will be okay. While Blossom is insecure in her capabilities, Butch reassures 200% more than she needs, and that kind of reassurance is the type to make you believe in yourself again.

And suddenly what was once restless, finally closes its eyes.

miles can absolutely understand coping with music, he’s the exact same way

he likes to suggest sharing some earphones either out in public or in private, it’s just one of those things that makes you two feel closer (he’s mad sheepish when suggesting it at first, but it eventually becomes one of those silent exchanges if ur cool with sharing) his version of romance

if he sees you with your headphones on, he won’t actively try to talk to you - from personal experience he can understand how stupidly frustrating it feels and wildly overstimulating

unless it’s something important, then he’ll try grab your attention by like tapping your shoulder or smthn,, a lil wave

he’s happy to do anything for his boyfriend to make him feel more comfortable in social situations.

Question: So you've both worked on Kripke shows about fifteen years apart. What has changed and what has stayed the same between being on early Supernatural and then being on The Boys?

Jensen: Hmmm, Good question. I mean he has grown considerably, since obviously, since the beginning of Supernatural. He did Supernatural for five years and then he went off and he did Revolution and then he did Timeless and then - so he's had a really nice kind of growth in his career as well. I really feel like he, he - kinda culminated to him to really getting to express himself with The Boys in a way that he wasn't able to with previous projects. Largely because of [slightly laughing] Standards & Practices.

Rob: Yeah, exactly. No, but it's true, he seems to have, you know, he seems more, I dunno, comfortable? Or he just didn't do more that, what he wants to do?

Jensen: He's always been, like, almost disturbingly confident about what he's doing and how he's doing it.

Rob: Yes.

Jensen: And I mean, even from the get-go on Supernatural? I mean, he was in his early 30s I think when we started shooting. And he had such a clear understanding of the world and the characters that he was building that everybody was just like, you know, go to the [?] , because he knows everything. And so he was so definitive about the lines which we were drawing this playbook with. And not all showrunners are like that, not all writers are like that. You ask a question and they're like - Well, you know, does this make sense for this character to be friendly to this other character? And you know, the writer will be like, oh, gosh, I hadn't thought about that, let me think about that and - Kripke had an answer for [simultaneously with Rob] everything. Everything.

Rob: And everything is down to, like, what kind of watch would Splinter wear?

Jensen: The minutiae.

Rob: Let's run that by Kripke. Because he wasn't in Toronto when we were shooting that and every single decision down to the -

Jensen: Gets emailed to Kripke and he touches everything.

Rob: Everything.

Jensen: And it's not like he's - he's not a crazy control freak where he has to manage everything? It's just that he knows. And so when anybody has a question in any department, they just go, well, let's just get the answer from the person who already has the answers. And that's usually Kripke and so it's just, it's so great to work with somebody like that. Because you don't have to guess. You're not left to your own devices like, well, I guess, I mean they're not really telling me anything so I guess I'll just make up my own stuff.

Rob: And so there's a lot that hasn't changed. I mean, I remember because he directed one of the episodes I was in of Supernatural. He has a child-like energy about him and that really hasn't changed, he's still kind of -

Jensen: It's infectious. He's so excited about what he does.

Rob: Yeah, yeah.

Jensen: And it makes everybody working with him excited. So yeah, I agree, I don't think it's changed that much? I think it's just an elevated version of what we were used to. Is kind of the difference between Supernatural and The Boys. It is, it's like we're playing with the same friends on a bigger stage.

Rob: Yeah, bigger field.

DAY 5 ~~ A SHIP

i haven't drawn peperoncino as a human in a long time and never have i posted anything related to "humanized" lemon to the public besides in gacha life 2 edits

h. lots of headcanons and extra info below the cut because i love these boys. uhh there's also a slightly nsfw hc too but i added a warning

when i was drawing this i was trying to draw lemon's jacket but it turns out the outline color is the same as his hair so i had to invert it to get it correct but i liked the color so i kept it

the reason why peperoncino is in a wheelchair is unfortunately not because of lemon (i wish it was) but because of something too graphic to talk about on this post. long story short is he got torn in half by two pieces of metal in the ocean and survived three more hours before being found by lemon. i have a more in-depth explanation on a different post in the ship tag

apparently one of my hcs for lemon is he's a sentient robot so in the drawing he has a data panel on the back so in his cookie form other cookies could check in on him but because of the whole electricity becoming too dangerous and everyone becomes scared of him thing he was. kinda neglected by the scientists

another hc related to the previous one. orange wated to take a mechanics class once she found out that lemon was a robot because she didn't wanna see him deteriorate but lemon told her he was fine on his own

i would like to talk more about lemon but this isn't about him. boowomp.mp3

so a couple of headcanons about lemon and peperoncino's relationship. uh. so lemon and peperoncino spent a lot of time together in the hospital but during the first couple days peperoncino couldn't speak any comprehensible words because he was so tired but lemon magically knew what he was trying to explain to him and since lemon treated him so nicely and understood him he started to get really comfy around him and then lemon noticed that and started to have feelings for him but repressed them because he would probably just lose him (peperoncino felt the same and he repressed his attraction too)

usually both parties don't like speaking to others or physical touch but they just now reserve it for one another

sorry for headcanon dumping about lemon on a peperoncino post but i prommy this is relevant to the ship. so about orange using lemon to "recharge." how that works is orange just hugs lemon for a prolonged amount of time (which lemon does not like because of the previously stated headcanon) which kinda transfers energy from him to the other cookie which tires lemon out.

so what lemon does is he plugs himself in (there's a special charging port in between his legs where a reproductive organ would usually be) and when he rests he only puts himself on sleep mode (not completely shutting down because the energy transfer system won't work that way) and hugs peperoncino. triple win situation because he doesn't tire himself out while charging his bf and all the while he gets to cuddle with him :D!!!!!!!

(nsfw) uhhh do you think peperoncino ever stuck his fingers into the cha- *gets sent to the backrooms* but yeah. the charging port is really sensitive and it's possible for lemon to be at the stripped club. straight up "jorking it". and by "it"? haha well. lets justr say. his chargign port

Do you have any advice on how 2 not overwork a drawing? Over-detailing my art (to the detriment of the final result) is a big weakness of mine, and ive been working on it lately, but simplifying my art is way harder than I thought itd be. I keep getting stuck in a mentality that less detail = less effort, even though all my struggling should prove that isnt true lol. & I almost always like my simpler drawings better, even though that makes me feel kinda lazy…as long as it’s fun tho, right? [1/2]

I’m asking here bc one of the things I adore about your work is how confident and striking your paintings feel. I really admire the way colors and shape language interact in your art…I always want to keep looking to see what I can find hidden in the details, but they don’t take away from the main focus of the image. How do you manage to strike that balance? [2/2] (sorry for the long question lol)

honestly this is still something i struggle with at times! but some things that have helped me are:

- identifying which parts i tend to overwork the most. for me thats faces so i have made it a conscious habit to render faces last. that way i can match my level of face rendering to the rest of the piece.

- working on all parts of the painting at once. some artists are able to work on a painting from section to section. this is not me, regardless of detail level. jumping around all over the place keeps me from focusing too hard on one section above others. i even take this one step further by working on 2+ paintings simultaneously but there is something wrong with me for this one i'll admit.

- staying zoomed out for as long i can. this goes in hand with the previous point but when you're zoomed out its easier to lay down the biggest/primary color blocks without the temptation to detail. once the main color blocks are nicely balanced its easier to pick out a few points of interest to add spots of detail to, and restrain myself to them. (easier said than done! but i try!)

- getting comfortable with backtracking / deleting overworked sections and layers. this might seem scary but this has saved my ass more times than you might think. i always save a version of my drawings before i merge everything / start rending so i can always copy over earlier sections if needed.

- cold turkey removing details from the equation for a while. i did this more from necessity than choice, because i was struggling with my health a few years back and had zero energy to sink into art for long hours. but looking on the bright side it helped me realize what details are/aren't necessary and how to build my features from big -> small. this progression of my patho art shows pretty well how i introduced details back into my work over time.

but yeah! sometimes i do still find myself creeping a little too close to overwork territory for comfort, even with all these safeguards in place. in that case i have to accept that not every piece i put out will be my 'best' and that perfection has no place in art. that's not the point of it!

simplifying forms isn't easy, the same way abstract art isn't lazy. but with all things it can be learned with enough practice. and if you decide at the end of it all that you still like drawing a lot details, it might be a matter of readjusting how / where you implement them. best of luck <3
