thank you! 💙💙💙 Leia/Leah/Lea/whatever is fascinating to me. she is the ultimate unknown. what was she like? how involved (or even aware of any details of the invasion) was she? Silver's basically a physical carbon copy of his biodad, so what did he get from her? like, I understand why the two of them kind of have to stay as these super vague and mysterious figures -- the whole point of them is that their story ended 400+ years ago and they're not really relevant anymore (and. well. the more that gets explained about them, the less that can just kinda be handwaved as "oh the politics were Very Messy") (we can sit here and theorize all day but let us acknowledge that, ultimately, canon gave us almost nothing about them post-Meleanor and we'd just be making things up). I do still wonder about her though! RIP Lea, we never knew you and we probably never will.

People need to relearn tumblr etiquette so badly. You can’t reblog a gifset/edit/fic with complaints in the tags about how you didn’t like x, y, z about that media and then expect OP not to be mad.

Some of us have been in this site for years even though we get less and less notes everyday and you know why? Because we’re passionate about the stuff we’re creating fanart for and we want other people who are also into that stuff to have content to reblog.

I feel like non-creators don’t understand how discouraging it is to see that somebody has reblogged your art and it’s just full of negativity. You people need to learn how not to be weirdos and don’t be surprised when creators block your ass for being annoying in their creations.

And while we’re at it, y’all need to learn how to interact with media. If you hate something so much that you need to express your feelings towards it make! your! own! post! Us creators don’t care about your opinions and most importantly we don’t want to hear your opinions. If you feel the need to shit talk in strangers’ posts about how much you hate a piece of media maybe you need to take a step back.

there's something so incredibly sweet about how many times davrin notes in his journal that talking to rook helped him with something. he keeps bringing them out to touch grass and gaze at nugs out in the woods with him which I think must be very good for them, and their company clearly helps him work through and get more clarity on things he's been stuck on emotionally. it's just kind of lovely and a great little nuance in that relationship.

A lot of times, everyone thinks Suguru will bring you home, punish you, and give you that hard, rough sex as the brat tamer he is. But what about the Suguru who understands what it’s like to be grumpy and frustrated? Who knows the struggle of being woken up too early, dragged through mundane tasks, weighed down by exhaustion before the day even begins? Who understands that maybe all you really need is some food, some water - maybe even a little treat to make things better?

Thinking about you throwing a little hissy fit in the store, arms crossed, walking ahead of him, overstimulated and barely keeping it together. You’re running on empty - no nap, no water, just pure exhaustion. Suguru just watches with a smirk, violet eyes dancing with amusement as his long, dark hair shifts over his shoulder when he tilts his head, debating whether to pull you in and calm you down with that deep, honeyed voice of his. But Suguru knows better. You'll snap and bite. Instead, he moves subtly, grabbing the things he knows will make you feel better - your favorite snack, your go-to drink, maybe even some flowers, because he knows you’ll smile when you see them later.

And as soon as you’re home, he’s running a hand through his thick dark hair, exhaling softly before telling you to go nap while he puts the groceries away. He’s making you food while you sleep, setting a glass of water down for when you wake up groggy, rubbing your eyes as you stumble into his arms, clinging to his broad frame while he murmurs, "C'mon, angel, eat first." That voice of his warm, patient, laced with that tenderness he saves just for you.

Because he understands - days can be hard, and you’re not some brat that needs to be punished. You just need care. And Suguru loves nothing more than when you finally curl up against him on the couch, letting him press slow, lingering kisses against your lips, his hands tracing gentle swirls along your back as he holds you close. Because no matter how many thorns you have, you’re still the sweet girl he fell in love with.

earlier this year I started writing a comic about the siege perilous-grail quest situation after finally finishing the didot perceval, and it started circling around kay and perceval. kay as gatekeeper, taboo anxiety vs chivalry, and perceval not doing things "correctly," arthur's enduring affection for kay. that general area. also the horror of the grail quest itself.

this is comic is part of that narrative arc, so with THAT in mind: this is an abridged scene of a longer arc revolving around kay associating camelot with a cage, perceval's associations with jewelry and knighthood and the color red, and arthur's relationship with kay.

[some other scene context: perceval has injured his hand and can't participate in the tournaments, so he's craving some kind of fight. kay is disinterested in replying to this challenge, but he's not above reminding perceval of their first meeting. it's just mean enough in a weird-intimate kind of way that perceval's like, ok so we're doing the antagonistic version of court romance rituals. he picks up hunting because kay can't leave the castle.]

So y'all know the Gravity Falls production bible that leaked three weeks ago. Someone in one of my discord servers pointed this out:

And, naturally, that spawned an entire AU.

AU Concept: Ford was kicked out instead of Stan and takes a job as a trucker to makes ends meet since he couldn't go to college, while still studying the weird and anomalous however he can.

Ford driving around from quirky small town to quirky small town, drifting through the liminal spaces of truck stops, meeting odd people in isolated diners, seeing strange things out on the road—a deer with too many eyes bounding across a two-lane highway, a flirty woman at a rest stop who doesn't blink or breathe, mysterious lights in the sky at night, inhuman growls on the CB or 50-year-old broadcasts on the radio—and taking notes when he stops for gas or food.

Aside from having gotten kicked out before graduating high school, Ford's the same person he is in canon.

He's still an ambitious guy, and here "ambitious" means working hard and saving as much money as he can—so, a long haul owner-operator who spends weeks at a time on the road. (He goes through a LOT of educational audiobooks.) Plus, this is the easiest way for him to get to travel the country; and since it looks like his "travel the world" dreams with Stan are dead, he'll take what he can get.

Since he's never in the same spot long and carries his life in a truck, almost all of Ford's research is in his journal. His bag of investigation supplies has an instant camera, a portable tape recorder, a thermometer, a flashlight, rubber gloves, and a few zip lock bags—and that's about it. It has to share space with all his clothes, toiletries, and nonperishable food when he's on the road. He doesn't have much opportunity to closely examine anything odd he finds, unless he's lucky enough to run into something when he can stop for the night. He has to cram his paranormal research around the side of his full-time job.

He doesn't live in Gravity Falls, but he knows it exists. Every time he moves—to Chicago, to Nebraska, to California—he seems to inch closer. He currently lives in Portland and usually hauls loads between the Pacific Northwest and Chicago or New York. He stops at the truck stop outside Gravity Falls when he can and has gone fishing in town a few times. He doesn't have the benefit of extensive research to know that this is the weirdest town in the world; but it seems pretty weird to him, there are local rumors about the town, and he's had some weird experiences in the area.

Plus, he can't explain it, but it's like the town's calling to him. He wants to move there, but it'd put him over an hour outside of Portland where the nearest jobs are. Maybe if somebody chucked him like $100k to build a cabin in the woods; but what are the odds of that?

He does know Fiddleford. Truck broke down somewhere and Fiddleford kindly pulled over to fix it on the fly. They looked at each other, had mutual knee-jerk "dumb trucker/hillbilly" reactions, and within ten minutes both went "oh wait you're the most brilliant genius i've ever met." Fiddleford's living the same life he was in canon before Ford called him to Gravity Falls—with his family in California, trying to start a computer company out of his garage—but they make friends and keep in contact.

One time Ford stops at a kitschy roadside knickknack store that also sells new agey magic things—crystals, tarot cards, incense, etc. He bought a "lucky" rearview mirror ornament that looks like an Eye of Providence in a top hat and hung it from his cab fan, and ever since then he's had weird dreams whenever he sleeps in his truck.

Things I don't know yet: what Stan's up to; or why Ford's the one who got kicked out. I tend to believe that in canon Stan wasn't just kicked out because he ruined Ford's college prospects, but rather because the family thought he deliberately sabotaged Ford; so in this AU, Ford would've been kicked out over a proportionate crime.
