I always figured your username was a reference to Fleetwood Mac, and I've been trying to get more into them besides the most popular stuff - so I guess I'm asking, is there a favorite album or few songs of yours that you'd recommend? Assuming I'm correct about your username 🫣

hi dre, not only are you totally right my url IS a reference to landslide by fleetwood mac but im also incredibly obsessed with them and have written a fic (not cobra kai) build just on their music! so let's get into it

im a #fakefan because even tho i do listen to fleetwood mac pre nicks and buckingham era, it is to me the best after they join and i won't apologize for that, fleetwood mac purists.

HOWEVER, bare trees which is a pre nicks and buckingham album fucks, especially child of mine and the ghost. i also love the album heroes are hard to find.

entering 1975 and the nicks and buckingham era, fleetwood mac the album is wonderful, beautiful, it's like listening to the band REALLY find their sound (which is crazy to say because they'd been making music since 1967 but i mean it, i do). rhiannon is a perfect song, landslide is OBVIOUSLY a favorite of mine, over my head, say you love me and crystal all hit.

i think recommending rumours would be redundant at this point because obviously, rumours is an iconic album and every song on it is not only amazing but the entire history around this album, the mess these people had created for themselves is fascinating. my favorite on rumours are: dreams (obvs), the chain (mega obvs), go your own way (which was lindsay buckingham's way of slutshaming stevie nicks which... these people are crazy i love them), don't stop, gold dust woman, silver springs (very much a lawrusso song, to me <33) and songbird.

tusk is a crazy album for crazy people (meeee) because lindsay buckingham was obsessed with NOT making a rumours 2.0 so they really push themselves to make more alternative music which i personally love love love. sara, over & over, the ledge, storms, sisters of the moon and tusk are standouts to me.

mirage is also a great album but not one i have really spent much time with. i do still recommend it!

tango in the night is my favorite album (after rumours because let's be serious) and big love is a song i listen to? every week? if not every day. seven wonders, little lies, EVERYWHERE??? wonderful album.

im gonna stop going from album to album because fleetwood mac has... so many and will just say listening to their greatest hit album for their 50th anniversary (which... like okay!!) is a great idea if you want to kind of have a taste of every era.

Why I chose my url: This is kind of a convoluted thing, but like, the easy version is that it’s the name of my trooper on the leviathan server (now called Aea out of the game bc they were supposed to be my self-insert but then they escaped into the woods and developed a storyline for themself).  The LONG thing is that I have an oc named Regia Elaphae, who I modeled after pnigophobia, the fear of choking or being smothered, and I made her snake-themed.  Rex is the latin word for king--for king snakes--which i swapped to regina and then took out the n bc ‘Regina’ didn’t fit her, and Elaphe is the genus for rat snakes, but i found two ways of spelling it so i spelled it Elaphae, and when I got into swtor I decided to use Elaphae in reference to myself.  I replaced my old url with this one after i started playing that trooper of the same name, bc my old one was :I .  I was into hetalia in middle school, and homestuck, and when I got on tumblr that followed me into my url.  I’m not into hetalia anymore, or anime at all, and homestuck fell off my radar into the ‘i’ll go “hey i know that” if i see it, but i’m not in the fandom anymore’ pile.  For the longest time my blog description was ��it’s been 5 years and i still haven’t changed my url’, but it was time for change fjdklasfaj.  It’s better this way.

I also miss being able to like, have just a pitcher of room temperature water next to a cute little glass and have it not be weird.  The cups are too big in america, i drink so much less water bc it’s just too daunting.  I’m dehydrated constantly.  Also i miss the METRO.  I loved the metro, loved nyooming along in the trains, wandering around the central part of the city, it was cool.

Roman is both the side I think would most be a fan on Taylor and also who has the most Taylor songs that remind me of him.

“White Horse” is definitely a Roman song. Like just change the gender (from ‘princess’ to ‘prince’) and it fits perfectly - a “dreamer” who has the beautiful, romantic fantasies they believe in challenged and emerges stronger but still believing in all those wonderful things... catch me crying

“Starlight” is the other song that has strong Roman vibes to me again bc of the ‘dream impossible dreams’ thing & another ref to a prince (and a ‘duchess’ ((duke)) but it def feels more roman than remus to me). Could definitely be a prinxiety song given the second verse: He said, “look at you, worrying too much about things you can’t change. You’ll spend your whole life singing the blues if you keep thinking that way.” He was trying to skip rocks on the ocean, saying to me, “don’t you see the starlight? Honestly the whole Red album has Roman vibes to me which makes sense assuming his color is red for the same reason she chose that title: bc it symbolizes passion. It really specifically reminds me of him in the ‘Moving On’ videos - him having a hard time letting go of a relationship but ultimately realizing it must be done strongly reminded me of “Red” (the song), “I Almost Do,” and “All Too Well”

My life goal is getting a tolerably dull full-time job with regular hours that pays enough to live on with some left over for funsies, and that doesn’t mentally or physically drain me too much. I accept that I have to work to get money which can be exchanged for goods and services....but I fucking hate it. (Honestly, if being a bike mechanic didn’t pay shit (like, they make entry-level retail most places) and require me to do the most work when I’d like to be doing the least work, I’d try to do that.)

dream trip: Bicycle touring Glacier National Park and the Icefields Parkway again. But with a bicycle that fits me better and less worry about money. That and and I want to see Iceland again. And Japan (for the first time), but only if I have the cash to buy some clothes. Also I’d love to take a trip to Greece and Croatia where all I do is walk around ruins and stuff, stuff my face with vegan food, and then alternate between swimming and reading on the beach under a big umbrella.
