In the scorching summer heat, you couldn't help the heat but feel your temper is also rising along the temperature. Every single hot day, it seemed like it fueled your temper for the hot day. You always come prepared with a small portable fan you carry around somehow today you couldn't find it after charging it all night, your mom answered your question when you come to her asking "Hey mom have you seen my portable mini fan I just charged last night?"

"Oh yeah, I think your sister has it. I saw her running outside with it in her hand."

Ah yes, that bitch. As much as you love her, you hate her with passion now during summer. Your family and friends often joked how that you're like a ticking time bomb during a heatwave.

Your boyfriend, Kazehaya Shouta. Your caring, patient, and understanding boyfriend is well aware of your seasonal struggle. He knows long before summer when it's a hot day he noticed how you're always snap at people and have that frown and furrowed eyebrows everywhere when it's really hot.

So when summer came, he came prepared for your fiery spirit. One afternoon, when you started to fan yourself with exaggerated exasperation, Shouta appeared with a knowing smile and switched the small portable fan and pointed it towards you. You couldn't help but grin at his gestures.

The gentle breeze instantly lifted your spirits, and you shot a playful glare at your boyfriend, who was smiling innocently.

"Are you saying I'm hot-headed?" You asked him, Shouta nodded. "Just a little, but who wouldn't?"

Over the next few days, Shouta's small acts of kindness continue. He surprises you with cold drinks like ice lemonade, ice cold tea, and, of course, every day he brings his portable mini fan.

His efforts didn't just help her physical comfort; they spoke volumes about his understanding of her emotions and his desire to make her smile.

As you cooled down physically, your emotional temperature also started to stabilize. People found you less prone to snapping at others and even began to enjoy the summer days a little more. Shouta's presence and care were like a soothing balm for your soul.

"You know, I think people mistaken about you being ticking time bomb because to me, you're a controlled burn." Touched by his words, you kissed him on the lips which he hum and kisses back.

As the summer continued, you still felt the heat's effects, but now you had Shouta's calming presence to anchor you. Your love blossomed like a flame in the midst of the season's blaze, reminding you that even the hottest days could lead to growth and renewal.

KIND OF UNEXPECTED

At first, he doesnt understand that you have a crush or atraction for him, he doesnt get it, and even if he does he doesnt talk or try to get a answer. Yes, he ask why him of all boys, what is what you like about him, when did it start, is only a basic crush or is deeper?

At first he only act normal, he doesnt wanna overthink or suspect that something is off, but time with time he sees your actions and it make him unconfortable, he doesnt try to stop you, but he feels off with all this kind and lovely attitude of yous from nowhere

The time when he gets the click about your feelings is when you with some friends went to the ramen´s place his family had, this once you almost didn´t eat by looking at him, talking and letting your food get cold by this. He, as a apology for distracting got another plate free, and since then, you got EVEN more nice and lovely.

He could feel it, damn he could, though he didnt want to think in a wrong way of you or your kindess towards him and his family, so he never said anything.

But he couldnt deny it, his suspections only made him more

curious about you, leading him to even, ask you to the cinema.

Nervious and with a sucessfull try to look even prettier for this ocasion, you where pick up by him an hour after school, walking and talking, he paid for everthing without even letting you complain, an even, you could see a little (very little) smile from him when he saw the specific outfit you created because of the date.

Once late, the sun almost droping out to the skye, walking home, you decided to talk, it was obvious that this could be just a friend´s hang out, still, didn´t want to make wrongs assumptions, so for the best and clear, you talked in a soft whisper, whisper that was listened by him because of the warm and comforting silence;

"Sanada..." you whispered, your hands togheter, making you feel the wamn sweat due the nerviousims . "On those months, since the past semester... my feelings towards you have changed.." He waited for you to end, not trying to get the wrong idea or make you more nervious "keep.." he said in a sooting voice

"I like you... i had my doubts but-... Now i just know i like you." Proclaimed in now, a more high voice, the head now up, to the front. You could see his eyes on yoour face, it wasnt bad, it actually feel conforting.

Because of the angle you were, you couldnt realize his face, a sighly blush and a little but obvious smile forming on his lips, his eyes soft and tender, glad and proud that he wasn´t hallucinating, and even better, he wasnt the only one.

SUMMARY: Ume has one male best friend that she’s been honest to from the start: (Y/N).

Ever since middle school people always thought you were dating Ume. It’s only a natural thing to think with how attached to the hip you both were with each other. All throughout middle and high school wherever Ume was, so were you; classmates even started calling you her sidekick.

But out of everyone Ume knew at school, you were the one person she showed her true self to. Her attitude, her cunning, her selfishness, all of it. She was sure you’d gossip to all the other boys about her horrible personality, but you didn’t.

Instead you told her it made her refreshing to be around; there are too many fake people in the world, so having someone who says whats on their mind earnestly made things way easier.

“You’re such a boy, all simple minded,” she’d say, but Ume really did appreciate not having to force a smile all the time. You’re also one of the few people who’re allowed to call her Ume.

After she developed a crush on Shouta, Ume would beg (though you’d argue demand) to spend time with him and tell her all his likes and dislikes. Now you really were her sidekick. Of course, she’d do the same for you if you ever developed a crush on a girl.

There were many days where you would scold Ume while feeding her soup and medicine because she waited out in harsh wether just to be the first girl to greet Shouta that morning. She’d just stick her tongue out at you, day dreaming happily about her crush.

When she realized that Shouta liked Sawako her world fell apart, and there you were to comfort her. She didn’t really know what to do at the time, but eventually she settled on being more honest. This naturally meant her “true” personality would be exposed to everyone.

Sadly for her, it only made her more popular with the guys in her school. Now she’ll sometimes lie and say you’re dating if yelling at the guys to leave her alone doesn’t work. Endless rants about the annoying kids in her class are how you spend afternoons together.

Sometimes she’d make you dress up as Shouta so she can yell out her frustrations at you; this was a big help when she was getting over the heartbreak of not winning his heart.

Eventually she decides to become a teacher, and with your help of studying together, gets into her dream college. Whether or not you go to the same one as her doesn’t change the fact that she’ll absolutely keep in touch and always make time for her best friend.

You sighed tiredly in front of the door that has a room full of students that you’re going to learn and grow up with for the next 2 years, or maybe more. Pin said your name and told you to come inside. Here goes nothing i guess ?..

You didn’t care to look around so you stared low to not make eye contact while giving introductions and bowed, after that was over he told you to sit by the window and get situated. I hate new schools. You rested your cheek against the palm of your hand while the other one took notes on the lesson, already wanting to go home.

Your eyes were droopy so you decided to rest, your head down in your arms. Aghh, this is so much better than taking dumb notes, they probably won’t be on the finals anyways..

You feel a tap on your shoulder later on, huh?, a girl with long black hair smiles down at you and says the class is over.

“Oh, thank you so much!” You say while bowing slightly, hurriedly packing my things, you think about how cute she is and smile to yourself. You feel eyes bore into your back, so you turn around and immediately face a guy with light hair and a welcoming face that anyone would trust at first glance. He leaned on the desk behind you while chuckling at your reaction.

“Well aren’t you a beauty!” He says with those soft eyes. You raise your eyebrows at him, contemplating if you should thank or question him.

“Got a boyfriend? He stares at you with a flirty gaze, your cheeks getting slightly red. “I don’t really know you that well..” You say sweat dropping.

“I can fix that!” The smile he gave you almost blinded the whole room.

You sighed and finished packing up and turned back to him, “You’re gonna have to show me you’re worth it.” You say with droopy eyes.

“You got it!!” He rested his palm on your back while guiding you throughout the school, introducing you to Sawako and her friend group, you even learned the guys name is Kento!

“Kento, huh? Cute name.” He giggles and guides you to your next class.

i. CHAPTER ONE; NEW ENVIRONMENT

"NICE TO MEET you, I'm Egashira Momoko, you can just call me Momoko." Said a girl with her red hair put up on a pig tail.

"Nice to meet you, Momoko." Smiled Y/n.

Some of the girls went to her table as soon the teacher left the class for a moment, introducing themselves, getting to know each other.

"Say, what did you eat to make you that tall?" A girl named Hana, leaning her back to her desk. Hana has long black hair that Y/n herself found it very beautiful. She pulled her hair back with a pink headband.

"Oh, I don't know. I played a lot of basketball with my brothers." Replied Y/n, fidgeting her fingers.

"The boys gonna have to look up to you whenever they talk to you," laughs Hana.

"Oh, don't be like that, Hana-chan." Momoko giggles, somehow Hana's comment and Momoko and others laugh made her self conscious.

She's aware that her height is far taller than other girls around her age, Her cousins that are girls, their height didn't even reach her ears. She even asks her mom if her height is normal for her age, and her mom answers that it's normal telling her that she was the same height as her when she was in her age.

"What should we call you?" Himari starts making her beaming at the question.

"N/n-chan is fine!"

"Hey, wanna play together?" Y/n asked Hana and others, her eyes lit up as the class was over, and it's break time. Her e/c sparkling with joy.

"Oh, uhm, actually, I'm going to the restroom with Momoko." Hana replied, taking Momoko's wrist in her hand in a hurry. Momoko, who was sitting down, went up to her feet very quickly from being pulled up by the black haired girl.

"I'll come with then!" Y/n declared, Hana shakes her head.

"No, no, no, you stay here. we won't be long anyway." Hana pulls Momoko's wrist, leading her to the restroom, sharing a laugh with the red head.

"Hey, I haven't seen the school playground, Should we play there?" Y/n turned to the girls with her hands behind hiding her nervousness, looking at each one for them, earning no reply until her attention instantly shifted to one of them holding their stomach.

"Oh my stomach, it's cramping!" one of them leaning their body forward a little while holding her stomach. "Im gonna need to use the toilet." She quickly ran past the h/c.

"Wait, Sae!" The other two girls suddenly ran past her too with one of them yelling from the door, "Just stay there, we won't be long! Then we can show you the playground." Before following Sae to the restroom, leaving her behind.

"Okay then, dont be long..." She whispered, sitting back down to her chair.

Kazehaya Shota was playing around with his friends, joking around as they walked to the playground after taking back their ball from the teacher. "Gosh, I missed it again." Shota picked up a familiar voice of his classmate and unconsciously eavesdropped on the conversation on the stairs.

"I'll give you my notes later." Momoko told Hana.

"Thanks."

"What subjects did you miss?"

"Math and English, this sucks my grades gonna drop if this continues."

"N/n-chan is still new, I'm sure it'll drop soon."

Y/n and Hana sit quite next to each other. He remembered that a while ago, Y/n looked around and tapped Hana shoulders.

"It better be, or my mom will kill me, don't anyone that I said this, but I think Y/n is a little annoying for a new girl." Hana and the girls walk in front of Kazehaya and his friends.

"She's just trying to adjust." One of her friends defends. A short girl, brunette named Rika. She nervously smiles at the tension between her friends.

"Still, I dont remember you like that when you moved here." Hana huffed, crossing her arms.

"Should we just leave her in class?"

"Just leave her be, I'm sure she'll be fine anyway with her tall self."

"What's wrong with you girls?" Shouta asked them from behind. He can't help but ask about what they're talking about.

"Oh, Kazehaya-kun! Hana-chan was just telling us that N/n-chan missed taking notes." Momoko answered.

"Oh, you mean that new tall girl in your class? She's so huge!" Laughs Yoshida Kei holding the basketball above his head.

"Yeah, like a giant!"

They laugh except Kazehaya, who feels guilty. The moment she walks in, she doesn't really stand up straight with her chin up. She looks down.

"I know what to do. Let's go back to the class!" The boys ran back upstairs, snickering.

"Where are you going?" Shouta question echoed through the quiet hall. The girls followed them, wondering what they were going to do.

"Come on, Kazehaya, it'll be fun!" he swallowed, trying to rid the lump in his throat. He had a bad feeling about them changing their plans from going to tricks with the basketball to going back to their class. He wanted to leave, but he's worried it's what he thinks it is.

They didn't wait for him, hurrying back to class with the hesitating Shouta catching up behind.

After he started dating you, Kento grew accustomed to your personality. He knew when you were ready to curl up and be shy, and he knew the exact people to introduce you to so that you’ll never have to hide again. Though, he does like how easy it is to tease you when you’re shy.

As for your playful side, it was something Kento only thought he was ready for. Never before had any girlfriend of his beaten Kento at his own game; romance. Playing tag, quippy one-liners, fleeting embraces, it all felt like he was walking on clouds. Hoping that time would stop forever.

o.PROLOGUE

"YOU HEARD THE Bell, class, take your seats, please!" A 5'9" feet woman with glasses tells her students, students running back to their seats. "Now, to start, we have a new transfer student with us today! Make sure to introduce yourself and play with her, and dont forget to be friendly."

The teacher called her in, a girl walked with her hands clenching tightly on the straps, the teacher puts a reassuring hand behind the girl's back "Do you want to introduce yourself to your new friends?" The girl suddenly found her shoes more interesting than looking at her soon to be new friends.

"...hi..." The girl finally lifts her gaze, "My name is L/n Y/n." said Y/n as her cheeks turn red, shy at the new curious gaze from the class.

The teacher claps, making her students clap as well, "Now there is one available seat by the middle. Is that alright with you?" Y/n nods, making her way to the seat.

Passing by her new classmates made her even more nervous than being nervous walking in the class. Step by step, they all looked at her, and they started giggling with their friends. What were they giggling about?

Was it her clothes?

Is it the way she walks? It it funny?

Or is it her hair? She made her mom style her hair because she wanted to make them like her.

'What are they giggling about? Is it my hair? WHAT IS IT!?' She yells in her mind, feeling anxious. Taking a seat, she felt someone was watching far longer than others. She glanced behind her shoulder, a boy. Two seats behind her were watching at her, and he jolted and looked away.

Embarrassed that he was caught, his ears and cheeks slowly turn red when she turns away to face the teacher once again.

'What's the deal with him?' She wondered.

Unknowing that the boy heart raced a little when she walked in the room, with the boy not knowing, was he sick, or was he embarrassed that he got caught staring at her.
