"Don't give me that look," you plead, face falling as you turn back around from the window to face Joe. "I didn't make it rain, did I?"

"But..." If Joe was a puppy - and some days you reason there's only a stone's toss of a difference, really - his ears would be physically drooping. His eyes have grown twice their normal size, big, mournful brown pools as he stares outside. "I had a whole day planned..."

You sigh. "Tomorrow is also a day, isn't it?" you try to mollify, heading over and resting your chin on his shoulder. "It might not even rain all day, y'know? We can still go to that new ramen place for dinner, if we just grab an umbrella."

Joe mulls this over, still pouting. "I guess... stupid damn weather. Why does it have to ruin all my plans?" he gripes, shrugging you off and collapsing on his bed as though there was a weight of a thousand tonnes on his back. You stare down at him, amused.

You grab his gaming console off the bedside table, switching it on in earnest. Joe perks up slightly when he hears the familiar chime of his most recently-played game, like a dog seeing the mailman. You shuffle onto the bed beside him, cross-legged. The rain beats a light tattoo into the window above you, the sky overcast and swollen with dark grey clouds.

"...Whatcha doing?" Joe mumbles after a few moments, voice stifled slightly by the sky-blue comforter.

"Can't do this out in the rain, can you?" you shoot back, not taking your eyes off the screen.

"Jeez," Joe sighs, rolling on his side. "Just don't erase my saved data, okay? I'm almost breaking level thirty-three!"

"You've been almost breaking level thirty-three for two months now," you quip, beginning a new game.

"Hey!" Joe gapes, wounded. "Uh, mean! That was mean as hell! You come into my house, take my console, play my game, and you think you can give me attitude?"

You arch a brow at him. "You're so cute when you're mad."

Immediately, Joe's face is wiped of any pretence of annoyance; scarlet floods his cheekbones, and he ducks down to hide his expression behind his fall of auburn bangs with a groan. "Ah, shut up. Why d'you say things like that?"

"'Cause it's true, dummy." You poke his head affectionately. "C'mon, show me how to play this stupid thing. You know you're way better at it than me."

Joe peeks at you through his fingers, suitably mollified. "What's that? Did you just say I'm better at something than you? No way - I'm for sure hallucinating! You should say it again, just so I'm sure I'm—"

"Oh, shut up," you giggle, finally joining Joe's laughter as he wrestled the console from your grasp. He waves it in the air victoriously, his wide grin of triumph softening when you worm beneath his arms and tuck your head beneath his chin, back to his chest.

He's warm. He always runs so warm. You can feel the steady journey of his breath against your spine, the way he shuffles to adjust comfortably for you.

"You, erm—" He clears his throat slightly. "You ready?"

"Mhm," you affirm, fully content to just watch Joe play for the next hour or so. Maybe you'll call Sara and Ryoko later, invite them over for a movie night. Then again, it's nice, being just you and Joe for once.

"Hey," he says quietly, a half-hour in when you're beginning to grow drowsy. "Uh, thanks for cheerin' me up. I mean, I'm pretty disappointed we didn't get to do the day out, but..."

You snuggle into his chest. His heart beats a steady, strong rhythm against your cheek. "There's always tomorrow."

"Yeah," Joe grins, fingers tapping at the console. "Always tomorrow."

and some horror stuff too! surprisingly, altho safalin can be a bit of a scaredy cat, she really enjoys horror

they both have maaajor sweet tooths, so whenever they go shopping, you can bet theyre buying out the whole candy section

they also enjoy baking together!!

sometimes, at nighttime, theyll catch each other sneaking baked goods

and then theyll have midnight feasts

even as adults, they soo go trick or treating

for the first part of the evening i feel like they stay in to hand out candy, mostly safalin

but then at around 8, theyll go out n get their candy!!

miley has those like... sexy costumes or smth, safalin is usually smth like a hybrid, like ghost princess fairy and things

day dates are usually decided by safalin, and she usually chooses less exhilarating places, more like going out for ice cream, or just staying in

evening/night date nights tho? all mileys choosing. you bet she chooses midnight ziplining, going to clubs, things like that

pet names!!

miley uses names like "darling", "babe", "hon'", "sweetie", things like that

safalin uses more soft names, "angel", "my queen", "my rose" and stuff

sara comes too, but she mostly just watches cuz these two are very wild and someone needs to make sure they dont accidentally injure themselves

they manage to rope her into letting loose though

they play tag and similar tests of endurance

gin always wins though!! joe SWEARS he’ll win next time…it’s always a close tie

keisou headcanons w/ sou & nightmares for anon

neither of them can cook. they live on a diet of rice and convience store food. when the rice cooker broke they just went out to eat for a week.

sou plays a lot of video games, while keiji hasn’t probably since middle school. thus, sou likes to challenge keiji to various fighting games, and always wins. keiji gets really competitive about it and starts practicing whenever sou isn’t around and watch tech videos online.

being both extremely complicated people with their own issues, talking about said issues can be difficult. the occassional fight and arguements never last long, as they both know how important it is for there to be communication between them. 

nightmares

when sou has nightmares, they’re jarring, sudden, and painful for everyone. he wakes up in cold sweats, screaming and crying. trying to touch or talk to him results in lashing out, angry words and curses towards someone he can’t even see through his own tears.

the first time this happened when they were together, keiji tried to physically ground sou, holding his arm and speaking directly to him and looking straight into his panicked eyes. the other man rejected him, pulling out his grasp and hyperventilating.

after a nightmare, sou is angry. he won’t talk to keiji, just locks himself up in his own room and gives him the cold shoulder. trying to speak with sou ends with harsh remarks and insults. and keiji knows it’s not him. whatever sou dreams about really gets to his head, as if something is stuck in his mind, lingering with him the whole day. 

eventually, keiji learns the best method is to just be there. he keeps a distance while sou lets out his tears, his cries. 

when sou starts to come back down, keiji moves his a bit closer, just enough to let sou he’s there with him. he’d whisper something like, “you okay”, with a silent nod returned from a shaking body. 

keiji gently places his hand ontop of sou’s own trembling hand, wrapping it losely around the others. slowly, slowly, as sou returns to himself, they’ll get a bit closer, an arm around a waist, a hand on a back, gentle.

they’ll fall back asleep together.

in the morning, sou is cranky, rude, but still himself. he plants a kiss on keiji’s cheek first thing in the morning.

tender lovey soukai headcanons for anon!

it may just be in his nature, but kai wakes up early every day to make breakfast for himself and sou. sou enjoys a warm bowl of miso while kai is more of a fish over rice guy.

sou buys kai random cooking tools when he sees them. thats how they end up with like... six different whisks and 5 rolling pins. kai loves them all.

kai learns with sou how to be physically affectionate... the first time he held his hand he almost combusted into flames but like in a soft way. 

sou loves cheek and nose kisses, both always able to turn kai into a blushing mess. 

kai tries to teach sou how to cook, it results in a smoke alarm and a two hour clean-up. but eating instant ramen and cuddling together is a nice aftermath. 

they have a minecraft server together, but it’s set to peaceful and all they do is raise animals and grow crops. (sou has his own seperate server for absolute chaos of course, and kai is welcome any time)

they have an irl herb garden together, with sou naming each and every plant. 

when one has nightmares, the other holds them until they can calm down. 

kai will nuzzle his face into sou’s neck and wait till the tremors stop. 

sou will hold kai’s hand and whisper kind things.

sou enjoys showing kai a lot of things he didn’t get to experience in his early life, like music and tv. naturally, kai is drawn to cooking shows and gets lots of new ideas from it, and even though sou couldn’t cook to save his life, will watch with him.

the first time kai kisses sou, its quick and gentle, and over as soon as it starts, but sou is almost crying because it was just so... sweet. 

kai purrs. he’s like a cat. sometimes sou will give his head a little scritch scratch and kai will just start humming. simple physical actions like that let kai relax and it’s nice for the both of them.
