Here's #1: "There’s people chasing us and I pulled you into the alley with me and wow you’re close". Which turned into a SOULMATE AU also. Bonus treat.

Title: "One. Two. Three."

Chay was on his way home from delivering a late meal to Porsche at Hum Bar when he heard a man’s voice shout: “Don’t let the little bastard get away!” 

He jolted back onto his heels, obscuring himself in the shadows while his eyes automatically began a frantic search for the speaker. Were they talking about him? Were these some debt-collector’s goons meant to haul him back to HQ for a ‘conversation’ with their boss? 

The answer was a definitive ‘no’, thank fuck. Whoever had shouted was most definitely not after the scrawny nineteen-year-old university student currently plastering his back against the brick mouth of the alleyway. Chay peered nervously around the corner to catch the action and found six men in patterned button-ups chasing down a younger, shorter man. 

To his continued shock, Chay recognized their prey.

“P’Wik?!”

He didn’t know why his idol was being chased down a backstreet in a questionable area of town dressed from head to toe in black athleisure, and he didn’t need to know. What Chay did know (and firmly believed in) was that celebrities deserved to have their privacy respected. The herd of strangely dressed men probably worked as paparazzi or gossip columnists and had stalked Wik down for an interview about his latest single. The rudeness of it all had Chay’s blood boiling in the space between seconds.

Chay had two seconds to hype himself up before Wik darted past his hiding place. He reached out and snagged his idol by the arm, yanking Wik into the alley. He spun them so the singer’s back met the wall and released his arm, only to cover his mouth immediately. “I’m so sorry, P’Wik, but please be quiet!” 

Wik’s beautiful brown eyes, which had initially flared with panic and anger at being grabbed quite literally off the street, softened by a noticeable degree. He nodded slowly and lifted one hand from his side to remove Chay’s fingers where they’d curled over his mouth. Chay flushed hot enough to sting and stepped back, nearly braining himself on the opposite wall. 

Right. With two people filling the tiny space there wasn’t much, well… Space.

They didn’t have time to contemplate the awkwardness of their situation or Chay’s idiocy because Wik’s pursuers thundered past in a herd. The two young men tensed in unison and Chay instinctively leaned forward, slipping into a casual lean against the wall. He angled his shoulders and hips to keep the singer hidden, lip caught anxiously between his teeth.

“I didn’t think it would happen like this.”

Despite the men still shouting and clamoring in the near distance and despite their uncomfortable proximity, Chay’s entire focus narrowed in on his idol’s voice. He knew those words. He knew them well.

“Did you– I, uhm–” He spluttered, words so soft they were mostly garbled nonsense. “Are you my soulmate?!”

Wik tugged up the sleeve of his dri-fit running shirt and flashed the words: I’m so sorry, P’Wik, but please be quiet!

Chay giggled wetly and slid his hoodie out of the way: I didn’t think it would happen like this.

“So you’re a fan?” Wik murmured, lips hovering between a smile and a grimace. Chay didn’t know people could make that kind of face, but here he stood. The sole witness to a miracle. 

Chay blinked. “No?”

“Will you run away screaming if I say superfan?”

“Will you run away screaming if I tell you those guys weren’t paparazzi?”

“Well then, angel, I suppose it’s nice to meet you. I’m your soulmate, and my real name is Kim.”

“Kim.” It tasted spicy and warm on Chay’s tongue. He couldn’t be more thrilled.  “It’s nice to meet you, too. I’m Porchay. My friends call me Chay.”

“What should your soulmate call you?”

“I liked angel,” Chay grinned. This had to be a dream, so he might as well shoot his shot. “Angel was nice.”

“Alright, then,” Kim wrapped an arm around his waist and jerked his chin in the direction of the opposite alley entrance. “Ready to run?”

“Promise I don’t have to wake up when this part is over?”

“Fuck, you’re cute. I don’t deserve this.” Kim laughed outright, the not-paparazzi now apparently forgotten. The pure, joyful sound of it speared Chay through the chest and pinned him against the rough brick. His soulmate and idol were one in the same… And he was happy with Chay?! Kim’s voice brought him back to reality, “We’re going to sprint on three, alright? When we get out the other side, whatever happens, don’t let go of my hand. Okay?”

“Never, P’Kim.”

“Perfect. Ready?” 

Chay nodded.

“One.” Kim reached down and tangled their fingers together with intentional slowness. 

“Two,” Chay breathed, squeezing gently and feeling Kim squeeze back.

“Three.”

The Chay Rewatch Ep. 4

As part of my KP Rewatch, I’m going to be commenting on each episode and analyzing the different Chay scenes. He’s my favorite character, and I thought I’d put down my thoughts (as well as timestamps for his scenes) as a fun way to express that.

Episode 4 - The Chay Drought ends, KimChay begins

Gang we are finally back to seeing Chay outside of the previously on segment

Y’all when I tell you I was so excited for this episode

I’m so intrigued by what Porsche says in the sauna. Nampueng why the hell did you say that to baby Porsche? It does develop her character beyond the silent attic wife trapped by Korn though. Clearly, growing up as an adopted child in the mafia world hardened her enough that she felt okay saying this to a child.

Also her saying this about Chay is very telling. Porsche is the heir, the one trapped by parental expectations in a world he doesn’t like (like Kinn???). He has the responsibility to bear whatever he has to in order for Chay to be free. Chay was always meant to be outside of the mafia narrative and escape in a way Nampueng knew her first born never could. Or maybe she wanted to raise a fighter and a strategist, who knows.

Time: 26:00 – 31:19 – Return of the Best Boi

Our longest Chay scene yet, this scene is so long and I kept pausing it to write down every thought in my head.

Chay, I thought we’d never see you again

Sidenote, what’s the name of the friend Chay is with? I think the fandom named him Ohm? Because I’ve seen that name used in fanfics

 “We’ve got a kind graduate that will share his experience with us.” – I know this may be a translation thing, but isn’t Kim still a student at this university? We see him on campus later on in the series getting ragged on for not going to classes, so did the MC actually mean senior? Or maybe he graduated and then is doing his master’s at the same school?

Also, very glad we somewhat got an age on Kim since if he’s a graduate or a senior that puts him in the 21-24 age range, and since Chay is looking at schools to apply to, he’s probably 18/19 age range (yes I know Barcode was younger than that at the time of filming, but Jeff is definitely older than 21-24 so I’m not going to go by actor age). Not the worst age difference, but definitely one that exists.

Chay’s Outfit: Chay immediately stands out in the crowd with his baby blue school uniform and khaki pants. Almost every other student is wearing a very, very pale pink or blue shirt with dark shorts or skirts. The viewer is immediately capable of picking out Chay among the crowd and keeping an eye on him, a hard thing for costuming to achieve when the scene is meant to be a bunch of students all dressed nearly the same. Also, Chay’s school crest says BOC International and he doesn’t have his name sewn onto his shirt like the rest of the students (I’m assuming those are names, if I’m wrong please correct me)

“Who’s that?” “It’s Wik. How could you not know?” – Chay babes, please don’t attack your bestie like that.

Chay’s friend not knowing who Wik is when Chay literally has a whole obsessive fanboy thing going on, very interesting. I understand this is to tell the audience who Wik is, but it also says a lot about Chay’s relationship with his friends. Chay is really good at hiding things when he wants to, we see that throughout the series. The only person he doesn’t really hide anything from is Kim, and that’s honestly partially because Chay has the self-confidence of a god and Kim likes ferreting out secrets.

“I want to study here because of him.” – Oh Chay, you cute little delulu stalker. I know this gets ignored because there are so many other, bigger red flags in this story, but Chay deadass stalks Kim. And no joke, Kim falls for him because of it and later stalks him back. Soulmate behavior I guess. Chay’s red flag is a high school story red flag instead of a mafia storyline red flag so it gets buried. And Chay’s friend 100% sees that. Bro nods his head while internally going damn the delulu runs deep in this one.

Kim’s Wik Outfit: The brown leather jacket with the red lining and silver studs, the insane amount of silver jewelry, the white pants! This is such an outfit. The tendrils of hair artfully hanging in his face. Good shit. Did I stare at Jeff’s hands to see if he was wearing his family ring? Yes, and I won’t be taking questions about it.

“I’ve realized that you’re my good memory. The empty calendar is now full of your name.” “Your laughter that makes me feel like it’s Friday.” - Now I want to dissect this song because this song foreshadows the KimChay relationship so hard, and you don’t really pay much attention to it during your initial viewing because obviously the viewer first time round has no idea what kind of angst KimChay is headed for. Why Don’t You Stay gets all of the praise (obviously she’s the work horse of this drama) while this song gets crumbs. Kim singing this song in front of the person he’s going to fall in love with, who turns into the one good thing in his life, who’s ‘tutoring sessions’ (i.e. the two spy missions and medley of dates afterward) take over his calendar, and who’s laughter makes his heart warm (and 100% haunts him after he makes Chay cry)

I’m really interested in how big of a star Wik is. Chay’s friend doesn’t know him, but he’s obviously popular enough that his university (probably in exchange for some extra credit since Kim skips so much) has him as a headliner for their open house. He even draws a good-sized crowd who seem very knowledgeable about his work not just randoms who are touring the school like Chay’s friend.

I’m sorry bowl cut, drumstick boy has the best reactions throughout this scene. During Wik’s performance, dude is rocking out, and his exuberant thumbs up to what Wik says kills me. He may not be as wild as Chay, but bro is a big Wik fan so I support him. In comparison, Chay is very calm and quiet while watching his idol. He only shows his emotions when he can’t answer the questions and rants about Wik’s MVs.

Kim comes off so cold throughout this scene. The look on his face after he finishes his bit and the MC comes back on stage is dead inside. He is done. He does not want to be here. He wants to go write some songs and add pictures to his conspiracy board. I’m not saying that Kim dislikes performing and being Wik, no. I just think Kim likes the music more than he likes the performance. The public persona of Wik definitely helps him stay away from Korn’s machinations, but I think if Kim could have his music without the people aspect of being a musician he would in a heartbeat. But he puts up with it to stay away from his father.

Chay knowing all of the answers and correcting people. The looks he give the people who answer instead of him is as close to murderous as he gets in this series. If not for the laws of this land and the fact that Porsche doesn’t let him have a knife, he would have stabbed a bitch.

Anyways, there’s my obsessive fan boy! I am not joking when I say Kim fell for him because of his obsessive stalker tendencies. And his friend hyping him up, saying he’ll get the next question, and even trying to get the MC to pick Chay when literally less than an hour ago he had no idea who Wik was or the scale of Chay’s obsession. Need me a friend like that.

Speaking of, the absolute change in Kim’s expression when Chay goes on his little tangent. Bro deadass finally had some life in his eyes. He is shook and falling in love all at the same time. MC has to nudge Kim to get him out of his heart eyes moment.

I maintain that if Kim hadn’t gone all Kimlock Holmes about Porchay being Porsche’s brother he still would have obsessed over the cute boy who has the same obsessive red flag as him. KimChay are freaks who love a bit of stalking.

Bowl Cut’s “Even I didn’t know that. Who the hell are you?” – bro does Wik only have obsessive fans? Also yes, fear Chay’s power Bowl Cut Boy.

I am not gonna lie Barcode towering over people around him is so funny to me. He is baby, but that baby is six feet tall.

Halloween KimChay prompt: Vampire/Werewolf KimChay! 🧛🐺

Okay, I saw your second message, but what if I WANT to write another one? What if I want to write them in the opposite roles this time, hmm? MWAH thank you, Anon.

Chay heard soft rustling and a gentle thud as something heavy fell from his bedroom windowsill to the wood-paneled flooring below. Curious as to who would be stupid enough to invade his lair, he silently lifted one eyelid to observe the intruder. He was more than a little surprised to find- "Wha- Wik?"

The man standing hunched among the shadows resembled his favorite idol to an uncanny degree; except for the clawed hands, snarling lips pulled back over sharp fangs, and glowing red eyes.

"Oh shit. That's, uhm. Well this whole set of circumstances is unexpected on several levels, honestly, Phi. You sure know how to make an entrance."

This guy was likely 50 years or so younger than Porchay, but Phi felt more appropriate given their roles in the fan-idol relationship.

That detail noted, Chay paused to contemplate the best possible way of handling this situation without injuring what may be the most important person in the world to him aside from directly related family or his friends at university. Wik had inspired him to pursue music as a career despite the potential setbacks for someone of his kind. He owed Wik so much.

"You." The wolfman raised one hand to point at Chay. He took a shaky step forward, nose high in the air and nostrils flaring. With another huffing snarl and a determined glare in his eyes he repeated, "You."

"Me? Oh, right. My name is Chay. It's nice to meet you, uh- Well, what is your name?"

He received no answer. Instead, the wolfman tried to dart forward and wrap his arms around Chay's waist. Never one to be outwitted in his own domain, the nimble vampire darted sideways and knocked the intruder to the floor. Chay swung his leg over the man's torso and dropped down just as he rolled over, trapping the wolf's arms against his sides with Chay's knees.

"What was that all about, huh?" Chay flicked the wolf's nose in reprimand and watched it wrinkle cutely in response. "Why are you breaking into my room at two in the damn morning?"

"You," the creature pouted. Because he was absolutely, 100% pouting up at Chay with his fangs still out and his eyes still glowing crimson. "You... are..."

Frustrated and angry, the man tried wiggling out from under Chay. The vampire tightened his grip and ran his hand through the man's hair on instinct. He immediately settled and started up an odd kind of rumble in his chest.

"Uhm. Okay. What were you just saying before, though? What am I, exactly, Mr. Wolf?"

"You are mine."

"Ah-"

But one moment of stunned distraction is all the werewolf needs. He's off the floor and out the window in a second, Chay held tightly to his chest.

WIP Wednesday

Happy WIP Wednesday to all those who observe it 🎉

I have a few lot of stories in varying degrees of completion in my WIP folder. But this past week or so, I've had a surge of creativity on one of them, so I decided to share it a bit.

You will find below 5 snippets, all from a different part of a 5+1 soulmate AU fic. The concept of soulmates in this AU comes from this wonderful Teen Wolf fic by @disast3rtransp0rt (basic concept is that the younger soulmate gets Chills on their birthday if they've already met, and only contact with their soulmate can Warm them). It made me wonder how this would work for KimChay (because I'm always thinking about KimChay) and how Chay's birthday being at different times would change his relationship with Kim. If anyone wants to try guessing when Chay's birthday is based on the snippets, I would love to know what y'all think 👀 (part 2 doesn't count 😁)

Did this BL couple stay together or did they break up?

This is completely my opinion and how I view these couples. You’re allowed to disagree with me but please don’t make a big deal out of it. This is all for fun.

DeanPharm- Obviously. Literal soulmates bound for life and for any of their next lives. They definitely get married.

WinTeam- after all they went through to even get together I sure hope they do. That being said I think they definitely stay together and get married.

KhaiThird- I sincerely hope Third realizes he deserves better than Khai. Please leave that man third you can do so much better. I do think they unfortunately stay together though.

TinnGun- I think they probably break up for a little bit during university to ‘see other people’ but neither of them can really commit to it and probably end up back together in a week at the least and a month at the most.

SoundWin/WinSound- I think they stay together. I feel like they end up being really good with communication and resolve issues between themselves pretty quickly.

LianKuea- They are literally married. Idk what else to add here lol but yeah. They’re canonically married so I know they’re staying together.

YiDiao- Idk if they also get married as I didn’t read the novels but I believe they also stay together. They have a dog together. Of course they’ll get married.

NuerSyn- my babies also stay together. I don’t think they get married just because I think they’re content with just living and existing together.

PalmNueng- I can’t see them staying together consistently but they do stay together.They’re the on and off again couple that never fully break up and always get back together in the end. They’ll be dating for a month then suddenly say they’ve broken up only to turn around a week later and say they’re back together. They probably never get married for that exact reason. This doesn’t mean they aren’t together for the rest of their lives though.

ChopperBen- I really don’t know enough about them but the crumbs I saw of them in the show were pretty cute. They probably stay together and live in the UK with two cats.

KinnPorsche- Mafia Husbands. They stay together and get Mafia married. I have nothing else to say about them.

VegasPete- Till death do us part vibes. The only way they’re not together is if one of them is dead and you best bet the other will follow soon after if that happens.

KimChay- When they do work things out I’m sure there is no way Kim is ever letting Chay go. So they most likely stay together and get married

SarawaTine- I’ve never seen the movie but I think they get engaged which is weird because I can’t see them lasting very long in the long run. They were cute but I just can’t see it lasting.

ManType- That’s literally an old married couple. They aren’t breaking up.

my current WIPs, in the order i last looked at them and for which i have actually written something: (most of these don't have titles yet so i'll try to keep is coherent)

arisu x chishiya x usagi: plot? who needs plot just vibes. It's about healing and living, that's all i know

Unhinged Kimchay: (im not sure how to explain this one honestly) everyone is part fae, fae genes are strongest in younger children (why? magic) and if you snap (aka experience a very traumatic event) the fae side becomes stronger than the human side and they form an unhealthy attachment to the first person who they trust and gives them an order. other than that person they don't care about anyone else, except their soulmate (kimchay are soulmates).

MacauKimChay: Macau proposes to Kim when they're children (3&5), they stay friends for most of their lives and when they're teenagers Macau kisses Kim. Macau ignores Kim for a while. Kim writes an album. Vegas drops out of nowhere to be like "Talk to my brother. he's miserable. I will kill you if you hurt him." Kinnporshe plot happens as in canon, except Kim doesn't spy on chay beyond that first lesson. Still keeps tutoring him tho. Macau and Chay are friends and all three of them fall for each other. At some point they kill Korn. Vegas and Kim are very very reluctant friends. It's a good time.

Learning how to reclaim being an omega now that your father has died a most unfortunate death (with some help): Kim is an omega, Korn doesn't like that but also sees the potential in having an omega son to do some of his dirty work. So kim is kept close and never really meets any other omega's or gets out of the compound. After Korn dies, he makes a list of things he wants to do, to start figuring out who he. I make pearls a very emotional subject, Tay asks: "is anyone going to adopt him?" and doesn't wait for an answer.

reincarnated kimchay: kimchay are reincarnated lovers, kim regains his memories of their past life over the course of the show, plot happens as in kinnporsche.
