Dali and Cocky Prince
Year : 2021 | Country : KR | Nb of episodes: 16
My rate: 6/10
Synopsis :
As a young boy, Moo Hak grew up in the market as a peddler. Although he is ignorant, he is strong-willed and knows how to make money. He is now the managing director of Dondon F and B, a global restaurant chain that his family started as a small gamjatang diner. However, he isn't dignified and only cares about money. He meets Da Li, the only daughter and child of an upper-class family who runs an art gallery. She has a profound deep knowledge of things. She gets faced with bankruptcy due to her father's sudden death and begins a hard life. Moo Hak and Da Li start a relationship as a creditor and debtor over the art gallery. Will these two polar opposites understand each other and fall in love?
Main cast :
Park Gyu Young as Kim Da Li
Kim Min Jae as Jin Moo Hak
Kwon Yool as Jang Tae Jin
Hwang Hee as Joo Won Tak
Yeon Woo as Ahn Chak Hee
My thoughts on this drama :
This is your light, half comedy half drama show. The dreamer vs the businessman. Both are pretty young actors but they did a good job in this show. The theme was also pretty interesting (art, painting). It's a happy story with a happy ending. Not uch else to say about it.

Weak Hero Character Names
For those who don't know, the Weak Hero webtoon anglicized a bunch of the characters' first names from Korean to English. They don't do this for newly introduced characters anymore AFAIK, but all the names they anglicized initially have been kept that way.
Since I've gotten a few people asking about the names, so I decided to compile a list of their original Korean names. You can find amost of these on their character profiles on the Weak Hero fandom page, but I figured people would appreciate having a quick reference that is all in one place. Hopefully this helps people learn/connect their original names.
Remember, this is not a full character list, it's for finding the Korean names of the characters that had their names anglicized.
The format will be:
Anglicized Name -> Korean Name (common alternative romanizations will be in parenthesis)
Eunjang High
Alex Go -> Go Hyeontak (Hyun-tak)
Ben Park -> Park Humin (Hoo-min)
Colton Choi -> Choi Hyoman (Hyo-man)
Eugene Gale -> Seo Juntae (Jun-tae)

Gray Yeon -> Yeon Sieun (Shi-eun)
Phillip Kim -> Kim Pilyoung (Pil-young)
Rowan Im -> Im Juyang (Ju-yang)
Teddy Jin -> Jin Taeoh (Tae-oh)
Daehyeon High
Dean Kwon -> Kwon Hyeokjin (Hyuk-jin)
Jake Ji -> Ji Hakho (Hak-ho | Hagho)
Timothy Park -> Park Taegi (Tae-gi)*
Ganghak High
Jared Sun -> Seon Jongwon (Sun Jong-Wan)
Toby Kim -> Kim Dosik (Do-sik)
Wolf Keum -> Keum Seongje (Sung-je)
Hyeongshin High
Forrest Lee -> Lee Sehan (Se-han)
Myles Joo -> Joo Seungjin (Seung-jin)
Robin Ha -> Ha Minjo (Min-jo)
Sam "Grape" Lee -> Lee Gongsam (Gong-sam)

Pinches of Sweet Home (2020).🩸🪓💥
You know that series that you don't give anything, but in the end you’re been forced to eat crow?? So it was with me with Sweet Home. What an unforgettable series! Few episodes, but the feeling is of having crossed the eye of a hurricane, such is the swirl of emotions! It's an electrifying series loaded with intensity, uninterrupted action and melodramatic pauses to make anyone cry! The highlight goes to the impeccable stove and makeup, as well as all the scenography and careful choice of color palette! The millionaire cast is to be congratulated, they are amazing actors who deserve my whole love! Sweet Home is brutal, bloodthirsty, breathtaking and with monsters so horrible that it gets to be comical! One of the best productions I've ever seen!♥️👏🏻🇰🇷♥️

One of the things that hooked me in the early stages of this drama was how very aware the creators are about language, and the power of language, and how that plays in to status in society. By showcasing Moo Hak's poor English skills, even poking a bit of fun at them, they emphasise his new-rich status in a completely believable way, and juxtapose that to Da Li's old-rich capabilities.
They show Moo Hak quickly labelling Da Li as a girl who grew up with privileges he didn't get, who's had an easier time of things because of the background she's from, and the difference between them at that first party just shines a light on how true all of that is.
And as the show progresses, they expand that into a bigger narrative of status and power, beyond just language (but language always still plays a part - his "foolish" slip of tongues or poor grasp of idioms and sayings are a running joke).
Later on in the show we see him picking out second-hand luxury goods, and in no big plot twist learn that he loves the gaudy, flashy things that scream "I have money" - and you contrast that to what we saw Da Li wanting to wear to the party when her boss first drives up to her home - ridiculous, but probably also ridiculously expensive. Cut to what Gong Joo says about Da Li's shoes when they find out their pay is going to be delayed - as much as she struggles, Da Li doesn't deny the truth of it. Or the scene in the car when Tae Jin is swapping out his tie because he needs to send the right message based on who he's eating dinner with.
It's interesting to watch Moo Hak's clothes get progressively more 'elegant' and less 'flashy', although his words haven't yet made that same transition. I'll be keeping an eye on that towards the end of the series, to see if he becomes more genteel in his speech as he becomes more a part of her world - and I kind of hope he doesn't, because much of his charm lies in how brash he is.

Dali and the Cocky Prince. 7
Story: 8
Acting: 10
Chemistry: 9
Comparable to: Her Private Life (kdrama)
Well I know I’m going to hear an earful for this one, but I only thought this drama was only okay. I know this is a highly favorite among fans unfortunately for me though its just was ‘meh’. Don’t get me wrong it’s a cute romcom maybe predictable and cliche, maybe overhyped drama too, but the acting is top notch and the humor is 👌 I guess My main gripe with the series is that I didn’t care for the romance aspect nor how a lot of the characters were portrayed. A lot were cliche and annoying. You had the main obvious villain, the annoying dim witted Moo Hak , and the oblivious meek Dali. 🤷‍♀️ I also wasn’t feeling it between the leads (I know, I know shocker) so that didn’t help either. Overall though I did like the artsy museum aspect of it, the bromance between Won Tak and Moo Hak for me was golden, and I’ll admit to some cute moments every now and again between the leads.
