I didn't see the full context of the CNN thing but I do think it's fascinating how in last maybe year or so the general public has gotten a lot more skeptical of celebrity PR. I think Kim Kardashian dating Pete Davidson was maybe the tipping point, but that was still pretty quiet, whereas now you've had people making fun of Kylie and Timothee Chalamet for basically their entire relationship. It is a little surprising that it's gotten so mainstream that people are willing to doubt Taylor (who's pretty well-regarded, as opposed to the Kardashians) and for it to be as mainstream as CNN and The View saying it's a stunt.

Random but people really need to go watch Molly. Maybe then they’d realize just how orchestrated a lot of things are, more often than not. The reasons why don’t have to make sense to the average person, but it doesn’t stop pr in all forms from happening. I find what she has to say fascinating.

Okay, I’ll do this one. Not digging the hostile undertone, but hey at least there’s no name calling 🙄. I’ll tell you about my thoughts about these things.

Tae cares about his future and therefore there will always be some things they have to be careful about. Tae and Jk will not be able to walk hand in hand, they won’t be able to kiss in public, they won’t be able to be romantic in public. But the speculation doesn’t seem to bother them much.

There are several reasons for a pr-relationship, not all have to do with promotion actual movies or music… it’s broader than that. It’s pr for the person as a whole as well. Stars can be as huge as they can get, they also are quick to fall if nothing ever happens after their rise to stardom. Beyonce still does pr, Justin Bieber still does pr, Ariana Grande still does pr… the Kardashians are nothing but pr. Sometimes someone uses their real life as pr, selling wedding-pics or footage for instance. Miley Cyrus using her split from Liam Hemsworth to promote new music is a fairly recent example. Some times things are being kept vague, like Taylor Swift and the songs that are supposedly about her famous ex boyfriends… it keeps the attention where they want it. Other times stuff is faked, co-stars dating… collaborating artists dating, etc.. when a relationship or rumors start at the beginning of working together, but end directly after it’s probably not real. It’s an open secret in showbizz; journalists know, celebrities know, showhosts know.. it’s why debates about this even exist. Magazines will even headline with: Celeb A is dating Celeb B, are they real or fake?

A lot of times pr-stunts will happen to directly promote something. Some times though, they will happen to distract from a situation or to hide something. Kim K dating Pete Davidson for instance to me looks like diverting from the Kanye mess. There’s several queer artist who have dated straight to keep up appearances. They have admitted to having been adviced it would be better for their careers. I don’t know why you feel this wouldn’t eventually happen in Kpop. Especially with BTS and BlackPink being so famous all over the world. South Korea and especially Kpop is catching up. I’m sure a lot of South Koreans will buy this, this way of marketing is new to them.

Every celeb does pr. Jennie wants to get bigger and stay on top. She’s trying to break into the acting world maybe, and… competition is always ready to take their spot. Taehyung is going solo, which is new territory and he or their company might feel he needs the publicity for this phase in his career. I think the biggest reason is him having to join the army though. Having a public girlfriend so close to him enlisting gives him the best cover and keeps him safe.

Holy shit the whole things is as set up as can be. Tae just happens to follow a non-member on Insta and coincidentally it’s not someone random but it’s his secret girlfriend who is also Jennie from BlackPink. Jennie’s personal pictures leak and coincidentally the only pic we can clearly see Tae’s face is the one he isn’t actually physically with her. Also… how do pics get leaked? Why did only Jennie’s pics leak, what did she do different from other celebs that made her pic with coincidentally Tae on them leak? Then they start wearing matching jewelry (something couples do to show they are together, yet Tae could hardly look at her at Harry’s show because it has to be a secret (oh no not a dating scandal) only to be spotted together very publicly just a couple of weeks later. Coincidentally with unclear pics, except the one with only Tae. 🙄🙄🙄 Very conveniently their respective companies have no comments.

I don’t know a lot about Holland, but from what I’ve seen he is very brave. One person being brave doesn’t mean another has to be equally brave though. Everyone has the right to deal with their closet the way they seem best for themselves. Situations differ, people differ… one man’s road doesn’t have to be every man’s road.

So yes, I think there’s reasons for both Tae, Jennie and their companies to want this. Everyone has something to gain by it. From your reaction I gather this is new to you, I can guarantee it is not new to the world.

It's always suspicious when someone has a shady romantic history like Louis's, Harry's, and other people in Hollywood or the music industry. Even Simon Cowell whom we all know is very obviously gay (his history includes a couple engagements that never went anywhere and a child he had with supposedly his best friend's wife that started living with him after and now he's finally proposing to her after almost a decade; also links to hundreds of women for years to give him a 'ladies' man' reputation). Taylor Swift and her million ex-boyfriends whom she uses to write songs about which generate revenue, Harry being linked to every woman ever and only having about one-year long relationships before breaking up with them and writing about them in his next album, Louis having one long-term girlfriend for a decade whom there were barely ever any pictures with them together in all that time except for in the beginning and then being seen holding hands with a girl then never again...

I understand most celebrities do PR relationships whether they're gay or not, but doing it for decades, especially without getting married, to me is shady.

I assume you mean shady as in you suspect they are hiding their sexuality from the general public?

There are three main reasons to be very public about a relationship that is fake (calling paparazzi, frequent fan spaces where you will be recognised, and attend events etc.). (1) You have something to promote (pr relationship) (2) You need a beard (3) You are both high profile and you feed off the attention you get together. It might be a combo of some of these three too.

Being in a fake relationship doesn’t mean that you are queer. Pr relationship tend to start and stop when the project or thing you are promoting ends their promo campaign. They are often short lived and consists of people involved in the project. It can be something small like the tabloids linking you together or involve stunting. For example Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield.

Bearding is faking a relationship to hide your sexuality. It doesn’t need to be very public, just enough to confirm the relationship is still on. These relationships tend to be long. And the celeb tends to find a not high profile partner. If both are high profile it might be double bearding. Some even get married (lavender marriage) An example is Louis and E (and Simon).

Some high profile people get together and fake a relationship to get publicity and attention on themselves, they don't neccessarily have something to promote and they are most often than not straight. They just want to keep their relevance as a celebrity or use each other to elevate their celebrity status. Some of these relationships are short, some are long if successful. Some even get married (and keep other partners). For example kim kardashian and pete davidson or jlo and ben affleck.

So getting married isn't exactly something that proves a relationship real, neither is an engagement (look at zerrie). Not getting married after being together a long time might be an indicator that the person is queer though (bearding). Figuring out if a person is faking it for promo or for bearding can be hard. It might serve both purposes. Harry's relationships have mostly served both. Louis' only for bearding.

Funnily enough, Pete also hasn’t been directly linked to that many women. It’s all perception. And I suppose the underlying assumption of Harry and Pete being men with many notches in their bed posts is all the sex society presumes they are having with people we don’t see (fans, groupies, friends of friends, people they work with, etc.). Because if they can have beauties like Emily, Olivia, Kate, Ariana…then certainly any average/normal woman would be thrilled to have a brief encounter.

I haven't been paying attention to Pete Davidson - but I didn't think people had been commenting on the number of people he'd been in a relationship with. It's just that they seemed high profile and intense - particularly the tattoos and branding. I think it's worth understanding that lots of things can affect how people think of someone besides the sheer number of people they date.

Is Kim Kardashian making a slight dig at her exes Kanye West and Pete Davidson?

The 42-year-old reality star seemed to throw some shade at the 29-year-old comedian and 45-year-old rapper when she hopped on Instagram on Friday to like a cryptic post about knowing your worth in relationships. The quote, posted by the account @thirdeyethoughts, read:

“The right person will show you that you weren’t even asking for much.”

Hmm… We wouldn’t be surprised if Kim meant to shade her ex-partners, especially Ye!

The pointed move comes just days after Kimmy Kakes finally finalized her divorce from Kanye – a process that was not easy given his rotating roster of lawyers and online harassment toward the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum. A source shared with Entertainment Tonight that Kim has been feeling “relieved” that their almost two-year legal battle is over, saying:

“Kim is relieved that her divorce from Kanye was finalized and that the details of their agreement have been sorted out. This is what she has wanted for quite some time. She is looking forward to moving forward and continuing to focus on her kids and their happiness. The kids will continue to be with Kim the majority of the time.”

Elsewhere in her life, Kim had dated Pete for about nine months until they broke up in August of 2022. At the time, an Us Weekly source insisted they ended things amicably, explaining:

The rapper Kanye West, who has long since claimed to be called 'Ye', is currently the subject of multiple lawsuits. Now, I don't know what's true and what isn't, but I wanted to draw attention to multiple claims of antisemitism by the rapper, as these are corroborated by Mr. West's own remarks. Furthermore, these allegations reveal the utterly deranged mindset produced by antisemitism.

One former employee claims that Mr. West frequently made antisemitic remarks. Quoting from the lawsuit itself:

“Often, these outbursts involved how Jews controlled the Kardashians. Other times, Ye recounted how Jews were going after him and his money. Those very same days, Ye would incessantly yell at his staff, including Aficionado,” the suit reads. It also alleges that he said: “The Jews are out to get me. They froze my bank account. The Jews got Kim [Kardashian] and my kids.”

Of course, Mr. West was significantly to blame for the breakdown of his former marriage to Ms. Kim Kardashian. According to her divorce filing, Mr. West refused to accept the relationship was over. Mr. West later went on a public and shamefully unpunished rant against Ms. Kardashian's subsequent boyfriend, Pete Davidson. That rant absolutely qualified as incitement to crime and ought to have landed Mr. West in jail for a few days (Ms. Kardashian begged Mr. West in messages not to incite violence), but being a billionaire clearly saved him from any serious consequences.

As far as Mr. West's money is concerned, he sank himself into at least $50 million of debt, as I recall. I believe the true figure was higher. These debts were cleared off by his former wife. His subsequent decline in income was the direct result of not one, but repeated antisemitic remarks, including an endorsement of Adolf Hitler's personal character, coupled with refusals to retract and repent of these remarks. As a result, companies associated with Mr. West cut ties with him in order to avoid damage to their public reputations.

Notice how, if Mr. Aficionado's lawsuit is upheld, Mr. West has taken all of his own faults, his own pathologies, and his clear symptoms of mental illness, and offloaded them onto the Jews. As a result, Mr. West doesn't have to take any personal responsibility whatsoever. He can't act, because 'the Jews' are preventing him from doing so. They have his money. They have his children. They've surrounded him. It's all their fault.

This is how antisemitism works. It is a form of deranged superstition. There's no other form of racism quite like it. There's no other group of people who are as maligned and denigrated as the Jews are. It is an utterly sick, repellent mentality that should be beneath the dignity of any civilised person.

Yes, a significant portion of Mr. West's antisemitic invective may be exacerbated by his mental illness, but even before his bipolar disorder diagnoses was revealed, Mr. West was already known for refusing to accept personal responsibility for his own behaviour and clinging to his irrational beliefs. And antisemitism is the apotheosis of irrationality: isolating the Jews as being the sole cause of all global problems, from financial downfall, to disease, to national humiliation, to even controlling natural events.

Whether Mr. West can be brought to reason is another matter. His so-called "marriage" to Mrs. Bianca Censori appears to be nothing more than a publicity stunt mingled with bloodcurdling sexual exploitation. I doubt Mrs. Censori is a victim here, either, but this entire "relationship" is a sham. I never believed for one minute that Mrs. Censori was a legitimate employee of Mr. West's company, and those suspicions may yet be confirmed by multiple allegations of sexual exploitation made by former employees. Again, I make no judgement on these claims, since I have yet to hear that they have been upheld in court. Mr. West is welcome to countersue and provide his side of the story. But he has not behaved in a way that would suggest any respect for women at all. Or men, for that matter, if Mr. Aficionado's claim that his own discomfort was repeatedly ignored is upheld in court.

What we can do is remain aware to the derangement of antisemitic belief, and not attempt to engage in debate with those espousing such drivel. Here's a marvellous quote from the French philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre, which encapsulates the problem:

Never believe that anti-Semites are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is oblieged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The anti-Semites have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.

I remember when Kim and him got divorced and he was stalking her and being really weird and creepy and saying crazy shit that sounded like threats to both her and Pete Davidson (her ex) and everyone on social media was like “this is what she gets for being a billionaire who’s annoying and *lists every single one of Kim’s public wrongdoings*”

And like yeah sure. You don’t have to love Kim Kardashian. Sure, she’s a billionaire and that’s unethical and yes, her sex tape made her famous or whatever, but to celebrate her being publicly abused by her ex and her ex harassing her and whoever she dates simply because you don’t like her? Crazy shit fam.

Not to compare, but it reminds me of how people don’t believe that JD could’ve been abused since in his past he was a drug addict, drunkard asshole. Or how people believe that Angelina Jolie deserved being beaten by Pitt in front of her kids because she “stole” him from Aniston. Or how people don’t believe that Ariana Grande deserved abuse of Dan Schneider or doesn’t qualify as a victim of Dan Schneider due to her relationship drama. Or how people think that Paris Hilton was overreacting about her childhood abuse and trauma simply because she’s a rich white woman, so she couldn’t POSSIBLY have been abused.
