The student (me) meets an older male (teacher) by the Kamakura sea. Sensei is a thoughtful, kind, and easy-going type whose mind you can’t read. I felt a strange attraction to him and started visiting him at his mansion that he shares with Shizuma. 

They were partners of the same sex who lived without any worries nor inconveniences—at least, that’s how they seemed to me.

Forty-nine days of the memorial service after sensei commits suicide, I invited Shizuma to the sea of memories written in sensei’s suicide letter.

Checked my Word Doc and I actually resumed my Fourze watch on Tuesday - meaning it took about four days to get from episode 6 to episode 24, aka I watched nineteen episodes in total

I'm currently on episode 25! Tbh I like the way the show goes about with Shun and Miu. Not that I ship them but it's like - they don't immediately go back to dating each other but the affection isn't lost, and they're in this limbo between knowing each other as friends and having a chance of being canon, and yet I'm not annoyed by the ambiguity like I would be in other cases. It's enjoyable the way it is :)

Kijima is also an interesting Horoscope (partially bc I can't tell if he was always that horrible or the Switch brought out his worst side) and it's fun seeing how he unravels Hayami, marking the beginning of the latter being poked like a poodle. I've also noticed that there's a pattern in the Switchers a Horoscope chooses i.e. Hayami tends to pick students who respect him and are star pupils in certain fields. Kijima actually feels like the type Sonoda would've picked; a person who has repressed, even ugly feelings, but hides them under a mask. I kinda wish the later episodes didn't focus more on the Horscopes because I'd like to see what kinds of students the others would've chosen ^^;

what if: Irresistible Mistakes

What if Toshiaki left the company after his girlfriend’s death to work in his parent’s ryokan? 

warning: none, death. 

Shunichiro and Yukihisa were walking through the bustling campus of the University of Tokyo on the first day of their third year. Shunichiro was deep in thought, still ruminating over the argument he had with his father about his career choice. Meanwhile, Yukihisa was trying to cheer him up.

"You know, Shun, it's not too late to change your mind. You could always apply for a job in the government after graduation," Yukihisa said, grinning.

Shunichiro shook his head firmly. "No way. I've always wanted to work in advertising. It's my dream."

As they walked, they noticed a young couple looking lost and confused. The girl had a bright, cheerful expression while the boy looked timid and quiet. Yukihisa found it funny, but Shunichiro felt sorry for them and decided to help.

"Excuse me, do you guys need any help finding a building?" Shunichiro asked politely.

The couple looked relieved and grateful for the offer. They introduced themselves as Kijima Toshiaki and his girlfriend, and Shunichiro and Yukihisa helped them find their way.

After Toshiaki's first day on campus, Yukihisa and Shunichiro joined him at the train station as he said goodbye to his girlfriend. Yukihisa found it amusing to see Toshiaki's awkwardness, while Shunichiro felt sympathetic towards the couple.

Later that night, the trio decided to grab a few drinks at a local izakaya. Toshiaki was quite timid and ended up drinking too much, so Yukihisa offered to let him stay the night at his apartment.

Years later, Toshiaki and Shunichiro ended up working together at Addison, a prestigious advertising agency. One day, after a long day of meetings, Toshiaki received a devastating call from his girlfriend's younger sister. She informed him that his girlfriend had passed away from long-term cancer in a hospital in Shimane. Toshiaki was hundreds of miles away from Tokyo, but he felt no pain and had no tears to cry, even though he loved his girlfriend deeply.

At the same time, Yukihisa was going through his own turmoil. He had recently discovered that his wife was having an affair and was pregnant with another man's child. He proposed a divorce, which left his father-in-law angry but understanding. Yukihisa met with his ex-wife and her lover, expressing his feelings about the affair and leaving no hard feelings behind.

Toshiaki did not attend his girlfriend's funeral, instead, Shunichiro took his place and participated in the ritual. Shunichiro was going through his own crisis during the funeral, not knowing what to do or say.

After returning from Shimane, Shunichiro saw Yukihisa and Toshiaki on the roof of the building from afar. He didn't want to disturb them, so he silently walked over and stood next to them, looking out into the star-filled sky.

In that moment, Shunichiro made a promise to himself to always support his friends' choices, no matter what they may be. They stood there in silence, supporting each other through their struggles and hardships, with nothing but the sound of the Tokyo night surrounding them.

Shunichiro takes a deep breath and lights his cigarette, the ember glowing orange in the darkness. The three friends stand in silence for a few moments, lost in their own thoughts.

Finally, Toshiaki speaks up. "I never got to say goodbye to her," he says softly, his voice choked with emotion. "I never got to tell her how much I loved her."

Yukihisa places a comforting hand on Toshiaki's shoulder. "She knew, Toshi," he says, his own voice filled with sadness. "She knew how much you loved her."

Toshiaki nods, but tears are streaming down his face. Shunichiro places a hand on Toshiaki's other shoulder, a silent gesture of support.

For a few minutes, the three friends stand in silence, watching the stars twinkle above them. Then, Shunichiro breaks the quiet. "You know," he says, "I've been thinking a lot about my dad's expectations for me."

Yukihisa raises an eyebrow. "Yeah? What about them?"

"I don't want to disappoint him," Shunichiro admits. "But I also don't want to spend my life doing something I'm not passionate about."

Toshiaki nods in agreement. "I know how you feel," he says. "My girlfriend always told me to follow my dreams, no matter what."

Yukihisa smiles. "That's good advice," he says. "And you know what? I think you should take it, Shunichiro. Follow your dreams, no matter what anyone else thinks."

Shunichiro smiles gratefully. "Thanks, guys," he says. "I really appreciate your support."

The three friends stand in silence once more, lost in their own thoughts. But this time, there's a sense of peace and camaraderie between them.

As they make their way back down to the office, Shunichiro feels a sense of contentment he hasn't felt in a long time. He knows that no matter what the future holds, he'll have his friends by his side. And that's all he really needs.

Toshiaki's announcement that he was resigning from his job at Addison took both Shunichiro and Yukihisa by surprise. They had grown used to working together and supporting each other through the ups and downs of their careers.

"Are you sure about this, Toshi?" Shunichiro asked, concern etched on his face.

Toshiaki nodded. "Yeah, I've been thinking about it for a while now. I need to go back home and figure things out."

Yukihisa placed a hand on Toshiaki's shoulder. "We understand," he said. "We'll support you no matter what."

Shunichiro nodded in agreement. "You're part of this trio, Toshi. And we stick together."

Toshiaki smiled gratefully. "Thanks, guys. I appreciate it."

And so, Toshiaki resigned from his job at Addison and made his way back home. The transition wasn't easy, but with the support of his friends and family, he found his footing once again.

Meanwhile, Shunichiro and Yukihisa continued to work hard at Addison, pushing themselves to new heights in their careers. And while they missed Toshiaki's presence, they knew that he was pursuing his own path and that they would always be there for him.

Months passed, and the trio kept in touch through video calls and messages. And as the time for their planned trip to Okinawa approached, they found themselves looking forward to being reunited once again.

The trip was everything they had hoped for and more. They explored the beautiful beaches and stunning scenery, making memories that they would cherish for years to come.

And as they stood on the beach, watching the sunset on their last night in Okinawa, they knew that their friendship would endure, no matter where life took them. They may have started as coworkers at Addison, but they had become so much more than that. They were a trio, bound together by a deep and unbreakable bond.

Toshiaki can hardly believe his eyes when he sees Shunichiro standing there with his wife and children. It's been years since they last saw each other, and Shunichiro looks different now. He's more confident, more assured, and he seems happy.

"Shunichiro?" Toshiaki says, stepping forward. "Is that really you?"

Shunichiro grins, his eyes lighting up. "Hey, Toshi," he says. "Long time no see."

Toshiaki looks at the woman beside Shunichiro and the two small boys clinging to her hands. "And who is this?" he asks.

"This is my wife, Aiko," Shunichiro says, gesturing to the woman. "And these are our twins, Hiro and Kenta."

Toshiaki smiles, feeling a sense of warmth in his chest. "It's good to meet you all," he says.

Shunichiro looks around, taking in the surroundings. "So, this is Shimane, huh?" he says. "It's beautiful here."

Toshiaki nods. "Yeah, it's quiet, but it has its own charm."

Aiko steps forward, a smile on her face. "Shunichiro has told me so much about you," she says. "It's nice to finally meet you in person."

Toshiaki feels a blush rise to his cheeks. "Oh, really?" he says, feeling a bit embarrassed.

Shunichiro chuckles. "Yeah, I may have talked about you a little too much," he says, teasingly.

Toshiaki can't help but smile, feeling a sense of nostalgia wash over him. It's strange to see Shunichiro in this context, with a family of his own. But he's happy for his friend, even if their paths have taken them in different directions.

As they walk towards Toshiaki's parent's ryokan, they catch up on old times. Shunichiro tells Toshiaki about his career at Addison and the ups and downs of fatherhood. Aiko chimes in occasionally, adding her own thoughts and observations.

And as they sit down to dinner that night, surrounded by the smells of home-cooked food and the sounds of laughter, Toshiaki feels a sense of contentment that he hasn't felt in a long time. It's good to have friends like Shunichiro, people who can come back into your life and remind you of what's important.

Shunichiro takes a long drag on his cigarette before answering. "It wasn't easy," he says. "But I think my dad started to come around when my sister decided to stay in France. He realized that he couldn't control everything, and that we all had to make our own choices."

Toshiaki nods, taking his own drag on his cigarette. "I'm glad he finally came around," he says. "It's important to have your family's support, you know?"

Shunichiro smiles. "Yeah, it is. And I'm grateful for it. Especially now that I have these little guys to take care of," he says, nodding towards the direction of the ryokan where his wife and children are sleeping.

Toshiaki glances over at Shunichiro. "You know, I never thought I'd see you as a family man," he says with a chuckle.

Shunichiro grins. "Yeah, neither did I," he admits. "But it's amazing how much your perspective can change once you become a parent."

The two friends fall into a comfortable silence, watching the waves crash against the shore. Toshiaki takes another drag on his cigarette before turning to Shunichiro.

"So, how's Addison doing these days?" he asks.

Shunichiro takes a deep breath. "We're doing pretty well, actually. We beat CI in the quarter and we've been in first place for a while now."

Toshiaki nods in approval. "That's great to hear. You guys have really come a long way since those early days."

Shunichiro grins. "Yeah, we have. And it's all thanks to the hard work and dedication of everyone on the team."

The two friends continue to chat for a while longer, reminiscing about old times and catching up on each other's lives. And as the night wears on and the stars twinkle in the sky above, they both realize just how far they've come since their days at Addison.
