1985 G.I Joe Snowcat w/Frostbite. This was one epic toy. Toys are awesome to play with in general but add a snow day off from school and you have an endless world of imagination. I remember making endless snow banks, roads and hills for this outside. No wonder I've spent a small fortune (literally) trying to get back all of the missing missiles and seats and guns and backpacks that are probably strewn through my parents yard for the next 1000 years. Thats my uncle and I in December 1985. I dont know why he's wearing my radical camouflage hat or why I'm allowing a Cobra Crimson Guard figure to clearly hang out in the back or a real American Hero vehicle.....as a kid I must have been way more forgiving with the details!

1985 Matchbox Voltron III Lion Force Voltron by Panosh Place. This is the real deal. This is the one everyone is after. I’m the young lad on the loud looking chair holding this in late 85’. I later sold this at my moms yearly four street summer garage sale in the town of Branchville, NJ a few years later for a whopping $10.00. Yes. I know. It’s an absolute travesty of all that is right in the world. It seemed like a nice amount of pocket money when I sold it in 1990 or so - it probably went to T.M.N.T or Dick Tracy trading cards - but oh how the loss stings! I’m giving this a 9 on the Holy Grail List and a 7 on the White Whales list. Redemption will be served.

Lego Kings Castle 6080. That’s me opening it up Christmas 1984 and I must someday find it again in MISB condition - maybe even AFA grade it like the nerd I am - though I would be happy with it complete and with the box. On a scale of 1-10 on the White Whale / Holy Grail list I’m giving this a solid 6 White Whale (because it is readily available if you’re willing to spend the money) and an 8 Holy Grail because of how epic and imaginative a toy it truly was. I sold it off for parts in the early 2000’s during the height of my selling addiction but kept some horses and knights that made it to The Shelf. It will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine.
