In Matthew 23:27, Jesus compared the scribes and Pharisees to "whitewashed tombs." Jesus used that vivid description because He and His audience could see the Mount of Olives covered with tombs. The #KidronValley carries the rich presence of God and dead people! The dead line both the left and right side, extremely expensive burial sites if Jewish, Christian and Muslim deceased. This was prophesied by Jeremiah thousands of years ago in 36:38-40. This valley runs along side the eastern side of the #OldCity #jerusalem , our Lord #JesusChrist frequently walked this path on his way to Bethany. It’s through this valley #KingDavid fled from his son #Absalom and also in this valley King Jehoshaphat overthrew the enemies of #Israel . But it’s not just the past that makes it important, but the future. All nations will be gathered in this valley during the great and terrible #DayoftheLord and the judgment of God will come on all those who harmed the Jews and I believe who did not defend the Jewish people (especially when events like the holocaust took place), those who have acted and spoken against His chosen nation will be judged in the valley. Just because your father is Abraham will not get you into heaven, Jesus said. The tomb of Absalom is located the Kidron Valley, Jerusalem, at the base of the Mount of Olives. As cited in the Bible in 2 Samuel 18:18 “Absalom, while he was alive, had taken and set up for himself a pillar in the Valley of the King.” This tomb was built long after Absalom’s time.

The Mar Saba Monastery is a Greek Orthodox monastery which overlooks the Kidron Valley in Bethlehem, Israel. The site is halfway between Bethlehem & the Dead Sea & is considered one of the oldest continuously inhabited monasteries in the world.
