In a world of inequality and segregation, the small town in North Carolina, Shadow Falls, remains one of the most divided towns in spite of its progress for the supernatural. Tension between the human and supernatural residences reign high. Shadow Falls is an original character supernatural town roleplay. Set in the fictional town of Shadow Falls, North Carolina, Supernatural creatures are often treated like second rate citizens, with some battling to fit in and others fighting desperately to stand out.  Through regular events and tasks where a character’s decisions could change the fate of the town. This is a mature, LGBT and POC inclusive, OC supernatural rp. We are roughly based off of the X-Men Show the Gifted (just with supernaturals instead of superpowers) and we hope we will become your home!

FACECLAIM: KI HONG LEE AGE: 24 SPECIES: WARLOCK OCCUPATION: Dance Instructor and Tattoo Artist Apprentice ARRIVED: January 3rd, 1998 FIRE WITCH.

“THE JESTER”

Tae grew up as the youngest son in a family with two older sisters and two very liberal, hippie witch parents. His mother was a water witch and his father an air witch who came to America together from Korea after the infamous Rangoon bombing. They found that life in Korea held too much political tension with it’s neighbor, North Korea, and opted for another life. His mother started her own laundry business while his father studied to become a veterinarian. Their home always had a new foster pet until the kitten or pup could find its ‘furever’ home. The Cho’s were harmonious and tried to keep their home as stress-free as possible. By the time Tae’s second sister, Mi Sun, was born, his mom decided to pass the laundry business to a family friend who immigrated later while her husband worked as a vet. By the time Tae was four years old, his father had accumulated enough to start his own practice in Shadows Falls, a small town with a love for animals.

Tae was homeschooled until he and his sisters could control and understand their powers. It would take one sneeze from six-year-old Tae and small flames ignite from his fingertips. By the time he was ten, he could acclimate enough to join peers his age on the playground and in the classroom. Teachers always noted that Tae would talk to anyone they sat him next to and he didn’t necessarily even need them to listen. He was quick to make friends and had boundless energy. He loved to jump, dance, play-fight and show off his magic. He never thought anything strange of his powers until he exhaled fire to impress a girl he thought was cute. A schoolyard bully pushed him forward, causing the flame to singe off one of the eyebrows. He was called a wart nose and kicked in the stomach while the girl ran off in fear. That wasn’t the last time he would be bullied for what he was.

His parents reassured him. He had been teased for his accent and broken English, he had been targeted for his magic. They told him that a dragon is born in a stream, meaning someone from an ordinary background can achieve great success. They encouraged him to keep his head high and not to concern himself with the prejudices. That was easier said than done, but Tae kept up his sunny persona and high-energy in the face of discrimination again and again. To relieve his stress, he took up hip-hop dance lessons at Tiptoes and eventually became good enough to teach there. His grades were nowhere near exceptional and he ended up going to community college in town while he pursued dance. He found a love for body art during this time and began an apprenticeship under Eliza Holmes. Tae now works part-time between Tiptoes and Black Lotus Ink, finding his footing in adulthood. His next step is to finally join a coven, one different from his family’s to further establish his independence.

-BEHIND THE CURTAIN-

Tae has a bright personality and is a bit of a distracted goofball. He still hasn’t totally overcome his frat-boy-esque partying ways and his focus is all over the place. He needs to be stimulated all the time or he’ll get distracted and start fiddling with his powers. He is a loyal friend and a social butterfly. He is still in the beginning of his adult life and is looking to find where he belongs in the scheme of this world that looks down on him no matter his personality or capabilities.
