Ipin and Lambo redesign!

I decided to give Ipin a real name and i though Min was really cute

I also made them a bit older because I wanted them to be a bit conscious of what happens around them! I also included the tyl versions because why not?

It's a bit hard to introduce this post without a little background here, So, I'm currently writing an alternate universe story, called What could have been. While these designs are a long way off as of writing this post(we are still so far in the past right now) different circumstances lead to them having different designs.

I also had so much fun making these designs and challenging myself to keep within the characters looks and making them unique against the old and each other. Making the future versions a more proper evolution. Anyway! Design notes below! Also spoilers for the fic of course.

All Varia uniforms are darkened in this version from their normal colours, this is as an overall so they feel like they can hide in the darkness better. Small accessory exceptions exist however.

Future arc designs have light whitish silver stripes, and colours changed based on rank. Leader - red, captain - blue, executives - purple, regular grunts have no additional colour

For Xanxus Past

Mostly the same, has no scarring due to not being frozen

Based on headcanons for him he's bulkier than canon Xanxus, especially since he was never frozen, thus within headcanon didn't lose the weight while in there

New addition of actual holsters, or at least moving them from being on his uniform's goddamn ass, amano why there of all places

Future

Similar, to both previous design and canon design to meld it better while giving him a bit more unique flourish

Deep wracking guilt causes him to avoid people and purposely ignore his own needs, lost a lot of weight

Scarring from being frozen exists, but does not go up to his face, gloves added to hide it mostly

addition of a slight beard because of regular headcanon of him growing one out when he's TYL, this one is rougher though than usual

For Squalo Past

Firstly sword is not part of his arm, lessons from Tyr(OC version of the previous Varia leader) taught him the importance of not limiting himself in his combat options(Tyr noting while he's a great swordsman having only one hand leaves a massive blind spot for himself that he has to protect constantly. He does not willingly lose his hand here either.)

Carries his own sword as well as Tyr's now, but rarely uses the latter, it's for special occasions

styled his Varia uniform mostly after Tyr, rolling up his sleeves, adding additional straps at the top, leaving it open, and keeping a black in-lining with it.

additional note, he puts his hair up for battle.

Future

Diverges and settles more into his style but keeps some parts of the previous coat, inside is now a deep blue to match with the rest of his coat and the previous version

the length and opening is actually taken from his first appearance in canon

now uses belted boots like Tyr

For Belphegor Past

most of it is the same, made the armbands(?) into Belts

Turned base belt white as well to match the rest

added two belts to his leg to add to his asymmetrical look

added a spiked collar

added small little black inserts where he keeps his knives that line his sleeves and inner coat

added a gem to his tiara

given fangs as per headcanon

Future

the above is carried over

changed thigh high boots to knee high in order to fit with his belts(made them have a clear zipper too)

turned fluffy collar to look more like the ones royals have

slightly edited spike collar to have a matching gem to the now 3 on his tiara, and make the spikes into studs

added more to the collar going down his coat to give more royal feel

For Lussuria

Past

Turning feather boa into a feather collar

gives two metal knees with no intention for hiding, allowing the skirt to be slightly shorter for decorative purposes

Adds a pair of gloves that go up his biceps, they have metal knuckles and elbow pads attached.

Boots have a mixed material of tougher rubber and metal at the soles of the boots though a decorative decal has been added to the front

Future

Fur collar more fluffed up

Coat has fluff at the bottom, and is asymmetrical shorter on the side with his skirt

Given thigh high boots where metal knees are attached, and similar decals to past version are dded

Gloves now have proper "brass knuckles" as part of them

Tank top replaces shirt and tie

as per headcanons I removed the Mohawk and added tattoos on him

To fit better with the purple i changed the colour of his hair to a more teal to purple gradient, a bit more reminiscent of pastel peacock colours too

Added lipstick

For Levi A Than Past

Turned all Belts to white as they were in the manga

changed cross straps into regular tactical military straps + little storage for him(Made them black because the design was too busy as anything else)

Kept his boots and gloves from early varia arc appearance as main stay

Changed middle belts to little button places

added two more parabolas so he's not defenceless while using Levi Volta(A lesson he learns much earlier due to not being prevented from field work for the 8 years of Xanxus being frozen! Since that doesn't happen here.)

Future

Above is transferred onto the design

Colours inverted on the gloves with the belts, same with the boots

added lightning insignia to cuffs of coat

Split coat tail into 3 sections

kept piercings as per head canons

Now the last two, who share a page due to the fact they each only have one relevant design that I needed to redesign

For Mammon

Changed their cloak into a cape, the chain they always wear now is the clip for the cape

gave them a long sleeve tunic under the cape

changed their gloves to reach their elbows and are tied with bandages

actually gave them a varia belt to help break up their shapes

gave them calf high boots with bandages to match their gloves

gave them longer hair as per headcanon

their smaller form wears this outfit too but smaller

Also gave them varia emblems on their cape

For Fran

made hat smaller with eyes that will react to surroundings, I also gave it purple cheeks

changed the collar of his coat to the more pointed design, but gave him a turtle neck to replace it

gave him white gloves, but also put little black finger pads on them

removed the four big clunky pouches on his design

added a belt to break up shapes better

added a few more stripes on the lower half of the coat

made boots knee high instead of ankle height

If you read all of this, thank you! I had so much fun with them and became very enamoured with them. They're definitely more to my tastes but hey that's how it is.

His box weapon is gonna be a nightmare to draw but I will not budge on the concept. I WILL LEARN how to color iridescent things if I have to >:c or die I guess

OH BOY OH BOY. OLDEST??? In memory?? Probably Ais. She's a invader zim oc from middle school. If you wanna go even older that would be like, warrior cats ocs I for sure had, or those like, weird murder princesses i drew all over my elementary school notebooks.

Im going with Ais though, and sadly she has not seen recent use! I've done redesigns of her recently tho! Recently as in. 2018 or 2020?

16. What was you first major project? How far along is it?

GOD. Writing? For SURE my KHR fic (one step forward two steps back). ITS SO OLD NOW, I am actually still slowly rewriting it but i haven't made enough progress to post anywhere.

Drawing? For sure blind frisk au on my undertale blog. I did actual COMICS for once. I never finished it though, sad about it. I lost the plot.

25. What’s your favourite genre to write? Is it also your favourite genre to read?

I love love love love writing time travel fics. Love them. Usually a sort of fix it, but with just a whole load of angst. I love dilemma of knowing and loving people who will never be the same as the people you love. God. Good shit.

I haven't read a lot recently! I do read time travel (plenty of it), but i also read a lot of stuff where just, people take the world building an expand on it? Go ham with it? Usually altering the storyline in the process? Its fun. I dont know, i just read a lot of stuff.

I also like those, self insert oc fics? I like reading what other people write as self indulgence haha.

i saw there's already a couple of answers in the notes, all right and true, but here's my own take on fanon harmonization from my personal experience, which i think is the one that's called the omegaverse of khr lol. also because my original post was asking for a "redesign" of it, there are other fun and interesting takes both on canon and fanon harmonization in the notes, and ways to tweak the latter to not make it--well, the omegaverse of khr anymore if that's not what you want to go for lol.

i saw you might be interested in writing about harmonization, so that might be a good place for inspiration!

Despite being a KHR fan for more than half my life, it's only recently I've decided to interact with the fandom. And to that, I ask - can someone PLEASE explain what harmonization is and why do y'all treat it like some urban legend around here. From what I've gathered it sounds like our version of?? An omegaverse??? But please someone enlighten me.

Does anyone else think I-pin’s crushes on Fon and Hibari are weird? Like yeah in the source material it’s pretty harmless, but it just rubs me the wrong way, especially with how the series handles age gaps and how Hibari is constantly subjected to being fanservice. Here’s a redesign concept:

▲ I-pin does not have a crush on Hibari. She’s actually afraid of him. He looks like Fon, whom she respects very much as a mentor/guardian figure, and it scares her to see someone resembling him so angry and mean

▲ The Pinzu time bomb is a result of stress instead of infatuation. She’s protective of her friends and tries to confront Hibari because she’s heard how scary he is. Even Hibari isn’t going to fight a five year old so he just stares at her, which would be very intimidating to a little kid

▲ Listen. Listen. Big brother Hibari moments. I-pin eventually gets over her fear of him and they just coexist, but sometimes Hibari will see her in passing and help her order ice cream or get her kite from a tree. He still fervently denies being nice

This is entirely self indulgent because I love this show and I’d like to apply some of my own thoughts - He’s 18, not for any reason other than it’s ridiculous for these crime kids to be 14. He’s on the older side because he got held back. This fucker doesn’t go to class. Reborn tutors him on actual school subjects because ya boi is failing algebra - Gets hair clips to hold his hair up while he fights. Also he’d have eyeliner sometimes just cause his stageplay costume has very pretty eye makeup - Has issues because his parents basically disowned/neglected him. The only time he’d get attention or respect was when he hurt others, so he obsessively fights anyone he can. He stays in an apartment by himself

- I DO NOT ship him with Dino. In canon, Hibari is maybe 15-16 and Dino is 22. Even if I’m aging him up in the redesign, that’s not ok

Tsuna Redesign next 😳 i didnt change much, i just gave him a normal haircut and changed his clothes style/palette a little

Also in my retelling, Tsuna is a transman and is ace

A couple of days ago I decided I wanted to redesign the Carnage boxes. Why? Because A. Their theming was all over the place, saying that they were dinosaurs and then only 3 out of 5 are. B. As a person who’s favourite dinosaur is the Spinosaurus Kikyo is an atrocity to me.

So in redesigning them I have changed the theme to mythical creatures/monsters, since I didn’t have to change that much that way. Plus it goes with Byakuran’s angel wings and dragon box weapon.

This was very fun to do! also down below is what they are and the changes I made.

Daisy - The one with the biggest amount of changes done, I chose the phoenix to fit his unable to die quirk of how powerful his flame is. additionally Phoenixes tend to heal very quickly from injury. Though I didn’t want to fully get rid of his lizard like form, thanks to an earlier suggestion from @neko-mama I took a bit of inspiration from the Cockatrice/Basilisk to keep some of that.

Zakuro - Keeping with his impenetrable skin and general fire abilities, a dragon would have been a shoe in. However since Byakuran already had a dragon box weapon I wanted something very distinct, so I chose a Tarrasque, specifically the old lion/tortoise/bear version of it in myth. Especially since it’s well known for it’s toughness.

Bluebell - Bluebell was very easy since she was pretty much already a mermaid. But I always hated just how plain she looked in comparison to the others so i decided to spruce her up a bit with some bioluminescence, adding some gills, and new fins.

Torikabuto - What was extremely hard to actually decide was what the fuck creature he was. I was starting to get so specific that it wouldn’t be known or at least would be hard to tell what it was. Thankfully @chierry gave me the helpful suggestion of a fairy which broadened the horizon and pulled me out of the narrow scope i put myself in. I did change the design of his wings in addition to adding arms to give him a more moth like feel and give more emphasis to the eyes. The original wings were a little too cluttered at least to me.

Kikyo - Oh man he was a doozy, not in design but he took 2 days to draw. It was obvious that he should be a hydra, since that was of course literally what those heads did. I wanted his design to be more cohesive because I found at least for me personally, there was too much difference between the main body and the actual heads. Random maroon colours splotches on his face, horns that kind of confused me as the why they were there since spinosaurus never had any horns. Green on the dinosaurs despite them being supposedly his teal hair. The whole thing felt like a mess. Hopefully I did fixing it up justice.

don’t get me wrong i personally love fanon harmonization, it’s straight up my favorite part of the khr fanlore. makes for great angst and whatnot, but yeah, like i said it isn’t the healthiest take around.

(not that it has to be of course, if that’s what you want to go with.)

i was thinking it’d be fun to “redesign” it if only for the fun of the exercise alone, from “something so codependent you literally feel physical pain whithout it and also are scarred forever and you can never heal from it” (that’s my experience of fanon harmony anyway?) to,,,Not That lol.

do you guys maybe go with another form of harmony that isn’t canon or fanon? because i’d love to hear about it!

oh I LOVE Bianchi she’s,,, so fucking cool,,, she had such a good design and premise and obviously was tossed aside so that pisses me off!!! she developed her poison cooking on multiple occasions, and was meant to be so strong, and highly ranked in terms of poison users in the mafia, and FOR WHAT?? WHEN WE NEVER REALLY SAW ANY OF IT??????

I also wish her relationship with Reborn was touched on a little more...? did she like, know him before the curse...? the whole “lover” thing confuses me bc idk what part of his life he’s talking about (for my comfort, I’m choosing when he was still an adult lmao). also, more about her and how she was with Hayato when she wasn’t feeding him poison hah.

I also wonder, did she ever meet or know Lavina?? what was their relationship like, as a step-mother/step-daughter?? so many backstories never touched on... godidndjdndk
