19 year old Brakul between bouts at a kickboxing tournament, moping because he got hit in the face (which is a foul!!) and also is getting his ass kicked in general.

He is Bict Urbinnas (literally 'North Erubin Valley Folk') in origin, one of many peoples in the montane regions claimed as northern Wardin collectively referred to as the 'Hill Tribes'. The region has produced multiple homegrown martial arts and wrestling forms as a derivative of local warrior cultures, chiefmost of which are khait wrestling (where mounted combatants attempt to knock their opponents to the ground and gain control of their khait) and a form of kickboxing, shown here.

The particular variant discussed here is unique to the Erubin River peoples, where the sport is of particular significance. All men are expected to participate in at least one tournament upon reaching adulthood. Tournaments are held on a yearly basis, for pure sport, glory, bragging rights, and often as an outlet to diffuse tensions via mock combat (cattle raiding is ubiquitous in this particular region even between allied clans, and these martial sports are acknowledged as a nonlethal means of settling the score).

Boxers score points based on landing blows (both punches and kicks) and knocking their opponents to the ground. Attacks to the face, grappling, and striking a downed opponent are prohibited.

Outfit notes:

-Light padding may be worn over the upper body during practice, but nothing is worn during actual tournaments. Accumulated bruises are part of the spectacle.

-Padded greaves are worn over short trousers. These greaves are a component of armor worn by mounted warriors in the region and signal the martial nature of this sport. The ones worn in sport are lighter and mostly decorative in nature.

-Kickboxing is done barefoot. Sandals are merely being worn between bouts.

-Bandanas mark fighters and keep sweat out of their eyes.

-The loin piece supports a leather cup hidden underneath to protect the groin.

-The belt and khaitsmane skirt is the centerpoint of the outfit. Young men are given such a belt upon reaching adulthood, usually made and decorated by their mothers. The mane is attached to the belt and emphasizes the movements of the fighter, drawing attention to graceful kicks and dodges.

-Fighters braid a section of their skirt for every ten matches won, and winners of tournaments are awarded small bronze bells that are tied into the ends of the braids. Master kickboxers are distinguished by skirts with many strands of braids that jingle with every move. Brakul has not had any such accomplishments.

This week's Disney hotel is the Disney Newport Bay Club at Disneyland Paris. With its nautical New England theme, reminiscent of Disney's Yacht Club at Walt Disney World, creating an appropriate outfit was not difficult.

I paired a classic striped tee with a white skirt for a touch of femininity. Given the seaside vibe of the resort, I opted for sandals. The red, white, and blue sandals were a perfect match for the New England theme.

To complete the seaside New England look, I accessorized with a seashell handbag, earrings featuring a sailboat and an anchor, and a nautical bow for the hair.

Wicked Stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande on Love, Defying Rumors, and Flying High

“We needed real connection,” Erivo says of their friendship, which bloomed just as Grande needed it most: “Tabloids have been trying to destroy me since I was 19.”

A Broadway show based on the novel of the same name by Gregory Maguire, Wicked is a musical prequel to The Wizard of Oz that imagines Elphaba and Glinda as frenemies before Dorothy dropped out of the sky.

It premiered in October 2003 and dazzled audiences thanks to a stunning score by Stephen Schwartz and indelible performances by Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth. After two decades in development hell, director Jon M.

Chu has delivered a film adaptation that’s so confident in its zaniness, so assured in its world-building, and so defiantly big-budget that it sweeps you away like a house in a tornado.

The performances are captivating across the board, but the story rests on Elphaba’s and Glinda’s shoulders.

Fortunately they’re portrayed by Erivo, who’s got an Emmy, a Tony, and a Grammy, and Grande, a pop sensation with two Grammys and nine Billboard Hot 100 number one hits.

“I’ve always said that Wicked was the love story between two girls,” says Chenoweth.

“The three things that I love about it are what I look for in all kinds of art that I do, which is love, forgiveness, and friendship.

That’s what Ariana and Cynthia both have, and that’s why they’re going to be a power couple.”

In the original Oz story, the witches are polar opposites.

Wicked posits that they’re more alike than they appear—much like Grande and Erivo, who crack up when the latter arrives and they discover they’re dressed in similar outfits.

Grande has on a pink Khaite sweater, jeans from Agolde, and Tabis from Maison Margiela.

Erivo is wearing Marni jeans, a blue J.Crew oversized cardigan over a Lunya top, and Bottega green sandals. Both have glasses on as well. “We do this every time,” Grande says.
