Kingdom Hearts 3 - Arendelle

#kingdom hearts 3 #kh3 #arendelle #scenery #my gif #it's nighttime when you first arrive in this world and you get to see the auroras shimmering in the sky #it's very beautiful but once you reach a certain point in the game it becomes daytime and you're not able to view this world at night again #that's pretty unique and i can't think of any other worlds that are like that #except maybe the kingdom of corona when you see the lanterns fly at night but that's just for a short segment #at least san fransokyo gives you a choice to view the city during night or day #anyways i'm glad i had an older save file that i was able to return back to so i could get shots of this world at night #i would have included elsa's castle but every angle i tried looked really awkward and bad lol #i don't use mods when collecting footage so some things are out of my hands when trying to get a nice shot #how sad is it that the interior of her castle is fully modeled (you can see right through the front doors) but you can't go inside #all of the characters stand in a line outside the castle and i wonder why they couldn't just hang out indoors #let me in. let me innnnnn

Long before Frozen was added to the Kingdom Hearts universe, KH fans featured Riku befriending or falling in-love with Elsa. The fan-made Kingdom Hearts III that people came up with (before the official game was finally revealed) was mostly based off the way Dream Drop Distance was laid out, as Riku finds himself following Elsa to the mountain and seeing himself in her has him wanting to save Elsa from falling into darkness.

I focused on the versions of Riku that I have seen in fanworks of the two (that have been dubbed RiElsa). While KH3 Riku is mostly due to the fact that KHIII was the game that Frozen was featured in. I'm hopping that the Kingdom Heart series will allow us to see Elsa again, and that Riku gets to meet her. Since she is revealed to be one of the new Seven Hearts, beside Anna and Rapunzel, and KH fans are hoping that the other three would be revealed in KHIV.

was gonna make a post bitching about how being a princess of heart works but then i remembered the whole union cross 'the 13 darknesses are sentient' thing and came up with my own theories but ive looped back around to being mad again. goddd why does shit actually work when you think about it im so mad

#i was hung up on the singular sentence in kh3 abt them releasing the lights into new vessels (EXPLAIN PLS?)#and ive come to the conclusion that the 7 lights are their own sentient beings like the darknesses who can interact with their hosts #and they explained the situation and all went 'hey jasmine/belle/etc id usually only do this if u died but like #the baddies all know where we are now. can we fuck off to new hosts so they dont find us'#and the princesses all went thumbs up emoji and off they fucked to arendelle #n then that leaves a couple options for kairi #first off her light went 'oh she has a keyblade? im staying here then. no need to ask her'#second off it asked her and she decided to keep it. which is INTERESTING and i will have to think abt to decide what it means #bcos like. im keenly fucking aware that we get Three whole sentences abt the situation in kh3 #and neither kairi nor the former princesses r there for it. so like. This should have been the kingdom hearts 3 plot for Frozen world

Elsa from Frozen was turned into a giant white python with anime eyes and an aggressive number of eyelashes. She tried to change back but got turned into a fire breathing sea dragon that specifically hoarded the treasured collections of children, which as queen she demanded.

In KH2, Sora learns Riku tends to self-isolate and try to deal with his pain on his own... KH3 revisits this, even highlights it by paralleling Elsa the queen of self-isolation with Riku… then Riku self-isolates again when he realizes Kairi is gonna shoot her shot with Sora. Sora notices Riku’s behavior and naturally thinks something might be wrong/Riku’s hiding pain from him, not buying that Riku’s fine or should be left alone here… But Sora doesn’t know WHY Riku is in pain. He’s staring at Riku, wondering what it could be, why Riku wants to be alone again now. Sora can’t figure it out… And it’s because . Riku is in love with him. But Riku thinks Sora is in love with Kairi, and he just wants Sora to be happy. So Riku will keep this to himself forever. He will suffer in silence forever as long as Sora is happy. But Sora’s not happy if Riku’s not happy. But Riku can’t tell him

Let It Go/Love Is An Open Door

Finally, the cover for my favorite Disney world in all of Keys to the Kingdom! I saved the best for last with this one (though this isn't the last one of these world covers I'm gonna do... :3). But yeah, I'm still so proud of the Frozen chapters, because not only did I actually make Frozen good as a Disney world (lookin at you, KH3 T_T) but I also was able to tie in some really strong themes and explore some really fun dynamics, especially the friendship between Elsa and Sora. Boy collects supportive older sibling/parental figures in Keys like crazy, man I love it.

We have seen an "act of true love" bring a person back from "death" (Phillip and Aurora, Eugene and Rapunzel, Anna and Elsa, Snow White and whoever the fuck that guy is, Ash an Pikachu in Pokémon 2000

We have seen "sleep" parallel death before in the series

But what couple have Sora and Riku been paralleled most closely to? Beast and Belle. In the movie, Beast sacrifices himself to protect Belle. This sacrifice makes Belle realize her feelings of true love, breaking the curse and saving him.

And ONLY THEN does Sora use "all his heart" (power of waking) to save Riku and the others.

But hey, don't you also have to use the Power of Waking to enter the Realm of Darkness?

Well suddenly Riku is in trouble and Sora is like, "Oh wait THAT'S where I left my door to Darkness, silly me."

But it GETS BETTER.

These two have been able to get to the Realm if Darkness before in KH2.

But what preceeded that?

Oh.

OH.

Riku gets murked, and then Sora carries him on and theybhave their heart to heart before a light appears and they make it to the Realm of Darkness.

Riku STARTED DDD with already having the Power of Waking as he dived into Sora's Sleep subconsciously to protect him.

Sora has big ol heart and and no clue whats going on with and it just thinks "Riku's always picking up the slack for me" but "what the heck is true love?"
