No. No, thank goodness. It just sucks that some of these characters’ names are so close to each other that my sleep-deprived brain confuses them 🙃

For Disney worlds that appeared in at least 2 Kingdom Hearts games, are there any ones where you feel one particular game's incarnation is the superior one?

Oh, there are multiple cases of that. Neverland, Halloween Town, and Olympus Coliseum are the first three examples that automatically come to my head. In all three cases, they appeared in the first game, and I thought they were fine there...but later games just expanded on those worlds so much and made it a lot more interesting.

In the case of Halloween Town, the first game gave us...well...Halloween Town. And that was cool, probably my favorite World in the game, at least as far as the Disney ones go! But KHII not only added some more added touches to Halloween Town itself, but also took us the Christmas Town and the Hinterlands, which only made things even more interesting! Olympus Coliseum was...okay, in the first game, but it was a surprisingly small world for such an important location. You basically had JUST the Coliseum and its surrounding locality. KHII expanded on things by bringing us into the Underworld, and KHIII expanded things again by making things into "Mount Olympus" with some new characters and areas to explore. And as for Neverland...honestly, the first game's version shouldn't have been CALLED Neverland. It should have been called "The Jolly Roger," because that was basically all we got to explore: Captain Hook's ship and a quick fly-by of Big Ben. And don't get me wrong, those were cool! But later games expanded things and actually brought us to Neverland proper: most notably, "Birth By Sleep," which took us off the pirate ship and let us explore the island itself. I like both, but I definitely prefer the one from BBS.

I got the sudden urge to share about an AU, and I actually think it’s one I’ve never talked about here before?

Anyway, it’s just for fun, but a while ago I decided to make a Pixie Hollow AU. I liked the first couple Tinker Bell movies a lot as a kid, so it’s fun for me to revisit that world now. (The AU takes place in Pixie Hollow/Neverland, but the characters themselves are all from KH. Most of them would be KHUX-style keykids, but they’re not exclusively from any one point on the KH timeline)

As far as world building goes, it’s mostly the same as the movie. The fairies are born from dandelion seeds + children’s laughter (perfect, right?) and end up in Pixie Hollow. There, they choose their talent and work to prepare for the change of the seasons. There’s a minister who oversees each season, in addition to a ruler over all of the fairies. (I think in the later movies they made it so the winter fairies are separate from the rest, but I’m choosing to ignore that since… it wasn’t really a thing back when I was watching them.)

They do still have Keys, but they’re lost keys that become magical when they appear in Neverland. They can all open any lock, but additional abilities will depend on the wielder’s talent.

So now to the fun part—assigning talents! 

First, the seasons: 

Ava is the Minister of Spring, Gula is Minister of Summer, Invi is Minister of Winter, and Aced is Minister of Autumn. Similar to his role in Back Cover, Ira is the king in charge of overseeing them. (And yes, Aced would still prefer to have Ira’s role as leader!) 

I made concept designs for them when I first came up with the AU, but now I’d probably change the masks to make them simpler. Dust-keepers:

Sora

Skuld

Player

Vor

The Dust-keepers store/distribute rations of pixie dust. It’s a somewhat mundane job, but all of the other talents depend on them to keep things running. Sora of course is happy to have a role supporting his friends, and Player and Skuld are known for being dependable helpers as well. Vor is the most unsatisfied with her talent, and will often get in trouble for flying off to do fun things with the others. 

Garden talents:

Kairi

Lauriam

Strelitzia 

Sigrun

These four are chosen for fairly obvious reasons, haha. They help to plant and grow flowers on the ‘mainland’. Lauriam and Strelitzia are still siblings, in the sense that they’re seeds from the same dandelion that were enchanted by the laughter of two human siblings. 

Water talents:

Aqua

Hermod

Xion

Roxas

Water talents are in charge of rain, morning dew, ponds, etc. Xion spends her free time with Roxas looking for seashells around mermaid lagoon.

Frost talents:

Xehanort

Urd

Baldr

Heimdall

Frost talents are in charge of making snowflakes and ice. They’re great at what they do, but have a bit of a rivalry with the garden fairies after an incident of freezing their flowers... Baldr and Hoder are ‘siblings’ like Lauriam and Strelitzia. Hoder chose her talent first, and Baldr almost picked the same to stay with her. However, he ultimately felt more called to be a Frost talent.

Light talents:

Hoder

Vidar

Elrena *

Odin 

Light talents are in charge of storing light, making rainbows, guiding sunbeams, and looking after fireflies. They’re also the ones who melt snow when it’s time for spring to arrive—so there’s a bit of irony in Eraqus and Xehanort’s friendship. Hoder probably would’ve preferred her brother becoming a light fairy, but they still spend plenty of time together outside of their roles. Elrena is something of an odd one out, as she creates lightning and works with the water fairies to make storms. Odin is primarily a ‘supervisor’ figure for them.

*edit—apparently Storm talents are a thing, so Elrena is one of those now 🌩️

Fast-flying talents:

Ventus

Vanitas

Vali

Vala 

The Fast-flying talents use wind to transport seeds and pollen. They make deliveries and send messages thanks to their incredible speed. They also guide newcomers to Pixie Hollow. 

Vala and Vali are close friends, but Vanitas and Ventus don’t get along well. Vanitas is competitive, while Ven is much more easygoing. Sora was a fairy Ven guided, so he got to see him choose his talent.

Tinker talents:

Ephemer

Brain

Naminé

Remus

Tinkers are in charge of everything that needs to be made or designed. Ephemer and Brain are always working together on a new gadget to help the other talents. Naminé is more of an artist, so she’s interested in finding and restoring lost things. She often helps people to remember something they’ve forgotten by returning their lost item. (I put Remus here even though we don’t know much about him, because he seems to have an interest in ‘lost things’ as well.)

Scout talents:

Riku

Terra

Helgi

Bragi

Last but not least—the scouts! They’re in charge of keeping an eye out for hawks, pirates, and any other potential threats. It’s the most dangerous talent by far, but they’re determined to protect their friends. (Bragi in this AU is not ‘Luxu’, he’s just himself!)

Starlight. Where are the animal talent fairies?

So, they exist, but they’re mostly just the generic keykids I mentioned before. I’m honestly not sure who out of the main characters would fit as an animal talent…

Regarding other characters: I’ve limited the fairies to just the Keyblade wielders, excluding Lea. The others exist in the AU, but they’re either mainland humans or pirates, haha. Roxas and Xion would eventually befriend the (human) Lea and Isa, but that’s a story for another time.

Been playing a bit of Kingdom Hearts lately and by a bit I mean 7 hours straight in one day

I'm almost done with KH1! Still have Atlantica, Halloween Town, neverland and whatever comes after (Really curious as to what Hollow Bastion is) So no Spoilers please!!

Also if anything happens to my son Sora I will blame it all on Rikku (＃`Д´) That dude has been making a series of decisions I'm mad about lmao

Fun story, when I was around 8 I followed this youtuber that was a fan of KH and even had his minecraft avatar as sora from KH2. I watched a lot of his let's play including Zelda WW (Fav Loz game) and KH! Fast forward 12 years later, my Vtuber friend starts streaming KH since it finally released on Steam and I've fallen down that rabbit hole since hehe

I started playing KH1 like 3 days ago on a Ps2 emulator and player 8+ hours before a friend of mine gifted my the ENTIRE KH collection on steam (*꒦ິ꒳꒦ີ) I'm super grateful to my friend cuz that wasn't cheap but man,,,, 8 hours down the toilets lmao

I AM SUPER SORRY FOR BOTHERING YOU im trying to get back into Kingdom hearts (your art is really cute btw) im trying to make an AU but i have no fucking idea where Kairi's body went when she lost her heart in KH1 when her heart's with Sora later Riku finds her body and he has it WHERE DID HER BODY GO? i saw a reddit post where somebody said Maleficent found her body and her body probably went to hollow bastion because that was radiant garden BUT HOW DID HER BODY GET THERE?? i forgot a lot of things maybe i can figure it out myself? but if you have an answer that would help me

As for your question:

I truly have no fucking clue 😬 I looked and looked and I couldn't find anything!!!! I looked in the manga, light novel, the wiki, and cross referenced with other kh experts but didn't come up with anything canon. Here's a BEST LOGICAL GUESS...:

Since Maleficent is collecting the princesses of heart she most definitely found Kairi

If it was in Hollow Bastion or Neverland, I don't know. Hollow Bastion used to be Radiant Garden and Kairi is from there so she probably ended up there like Riku did at the beginning of kh1 because, remember, Riku didn't end up in Traverse Town like Sora. The reason I'm thinking Neverland is so Maleficent can manipulate Riku. Again, she's gathering the princesses of heart, Riku wants his friends back together, he's been manipulated into thinking that Sora has replaced him, and he just had a major blow to the ego in Traverse Town. It's possible that Maleficent tells Riku that Kairi is in Neverland so he can play hero and save her, that way he can be more easily controlled. Those are two options.

It's just ... Hard to say. Because they don't really care about Kairi. The only people who care are Shiro Amano (the manga author) and half of the fandom. They really just halfheartedly throw her in the dumpster in every game which is a shame! She could be a great character.

As for how her body got there! I dunno! Kingdom Hearts is weird. Like here's a flow chart that my experts and I discussed:

Both Kairi and Sora are the only people who could keep living along side their nobodies. However when their nobodies "woke up" they were in completely different places than expected, Naminé being at Castle Oblivion and Roxas being in Twilight Town.

Personally! And just personally! I think it has something to do with your heart like how much dark and light it has in it, etc. Depending on that factor, that's where you get spit out. I could be 100% wrong though.

The nice part about AUs is that you can kinda do whatever the fuck you want... I have an AU where I kept the world system and keyblades and changed everything else cause no one can stop me. If you want Kairi in Hollow Bastion, slay! If you want her in Neverland, cool! If you want to ignore this post, even better! Do what you want! I hope you get back into kingdom hearts!

I've been replaying kh recom and a lot of the memory and connection theming is making my brain whirr with what we know leading into the new saga. The bit about sleeping memories never truly being gone in neverland especially.

Ventus sleeping in CO, Marluxia & Larxene not seeming to remember Daybreak until the very end (what did they know anyway? how long were they in the present before they got nobodied and found? presumably a bit before bbs like Ventus and probably Skuld/SubX if that turns out true). @monasticmaestoso Brought up Xion too as the most literal example, disappearing and being forgotten but still coming back because the heart cannot truly forget. What was once there is gone but a void is left in the shape of it.

And all of that is something that extends to KH as a whole. Once something is it will always be for. Things in kh don't stop existing, they can't. Not memories, not hearts, not people, not heartless or Darkness. Nobodies are about the only thing that can and they fall into a weird category of nonexistance because of it, although they still do. They take up space, interact, remember, and all of that returns to the person that's left afterwards, or the person they become in roxas and xions case.

I really underestimated you recom I guess is the point. I played you twice before and didn't really get the card system and didn't really take the story seriously. But I'm different now and I'm older and sleights make sense and Namine's longing for a place to belong and the nature of friendship and memory hit a lot harder now.
