Here's my Pokémon Little Guys team. It's a thematic team where all the Guys get buffs that apply to the Beast, Televised, Chilean Fauna and Brown keywords.
Besides using keyword abilities, the strategy when using this team is pretty straightforward: You chuck (Chuck 3 is useful here) Lipigas Dog (Music) and Pudu (Appeal) to the center of the field to produce Fun and distract the opponent's Guys, while The Dog that Steals Empanadas (Stealth) and Vegan Condor (Flight) move around the flanks to steal the opponent's Snacks and deny them of resources, meanwhile The Sea Lion WDWL (Swim) fights for water control and is ready to pick anything that falls off into the water, and finally Lockdown Puma (Climb) moves around the field in order to exploit any opportunity that arises, moves your Chuck 3 Guys around and keeps your opponent guessing as to whether it is safe to attack your base.
The big weakness of this team is its complete lack of Media Literacy. If you're playing as part of an Alliance this team can synergize with a Brainy, Trickster or Cool Dude team easily. Otherwise, my recommendation is to hit the opponent fast before they can set up any Shenaniganry.
This is a simple team, but it's not for the faint-hearted. Hit fast, hit hard and keep your opponent on the defensive to maximize your advantage.

If a town had their food completely self-sustained, how much farmland would they need? It's a heavily vegetarian community by the way. How much would it depend on the exact crops they're growing i.e. beans vs lentils, rice vs wheat? Let's say 30,000 people for now. If I need to adjust for a different population, would it be linear or not? What if they optimised their fields for most nutrition to land required? The town is in the coastal tropics by the way. Crops that can't be grown there can be greenhoused. Also, I heard about crops being grown in seawater instead. How much land can be saved if some of the crops were there instead? Also, how possible is it for this community to be able to achieve less than 5% food waste?
Tex: So I went and gave “how much farmland is needed per person” a quick search on the internet, and here are the first three results:
How Much Land Does It Take To Feed One Person – Online Calculator by William Swanson | Permaculturism
How much land to feed a person? by The Naked Scientists
Agricultural land use per person by Our World in Data
Now, I do not necessarily claim these are the best search results, only the first search results. (Admittedly, the top result is pretty good for most uses.) Adjusting your keywords and search parameters will likely net you more pertinent results.
For some additional context, here is a list of types of malnutrition (Wikipedia). It has a category for both under- and over-nourishment, which will be useful for your context and as a form of general education in real life.
Humans require a varied diet. If they do not get this, and in proper quantities, they fall ill. Trade has been an enormous supplement for this, in terms of things like preserved produce or meats that cannot be produced locally for various reasons, or preservation agents such as salt (which also fill a spot in the nutritional index).
Land can only produce so much during a growing period, and requires seasonal periods to lay fallow - something which typically requires the use of manure to amend the soil to a useful mineral ratio (you can use chemicals, strictly speaking, if you don’t mind destroying the microbiome in the process). Greenhouses have much the same pitfalls, hence their experimental or ornamental nature compared to the style of agriculture humans have been practicing for thousands of years.
The amount of arable land will dictate how many people can survive healthily in a given area. For this, you’ll probably want to use the calculator linked above, and make sure to account for non-arable, uninhabitable land for other flora, other fauna, and geological features such as rocks or beaches.
It will not be a utopia, and an agriculturally-dependent society that vegetarianism or veganism (an even more stringent diet) demands will necessarily spend the majority of their time tending to their crops and the accessory chores to keep their farms running year-round.
Additionally, food waste is a relatively new concept, and mostly for the Western or adjacent world, because historically most people have been too poor to afford wasting even a single scrap of a mealy vegetable. If it cannot be cooked into edibility, fed to a farm animal, composted, used to insulate crops over winter, converted into a useful craft (see: textiles, manufacturing of non-food goods), or otherwise consumed in a worthwhile manner, it generally is not bothered with as a crop because wasted crop costs money - and money is historically housed by the wealthy who need not worry about such things as where and when their next meal arrives, not the people who produce the food.

Hi! Can you help out? 😭 I'm really struggling to make an underworld/underground type of world, and Idrk where to start
Hi! Thank you for turning to me! <3
Why underground?
I'd start by establishing why is it underground in the first place? Underground worlds usually develop due to extreme conditions on the surface, these could be the following:
Natural causes
Extreme cold
Extreme heat
Extreme pollution due to a natural disaster (eg: "an extreme sun storm destroyed the world's ozone layer", volcano eruption polluted the air)
Storms (typhoons, sandstorms, electrical storms, magical storm, ice storms)
Other beings
Extremely hostile animals or monsters (either developed naturally, man made, aliens, or other races from other planes)
Man made
Polluted air (from either smog, wars, a catastrophe that occurred)
Radiation
Fantasy
(pure rambling and brainstorming)
Maybe a god cursed humanity, that they can't look into the Sun anymore, or it burns them, so people moved underground. On this notion, it can be that everybody was cursed with some sort of vampirism.
A god stole the atmosphere or the light/Sun
The ground is hollow (and there is another sun inside the planet)
Other ideas
A plague occurred, and the cure is from the ground, in a form of a mineral, but it would have been hard to always excavate it, so they eventually just stayed underground.
Undergrounds and Extreme conditions from existing medias
(Some from the top of my head)
Silo (Show, 2023-): "Men and women live in a giant silo underground with several regulations which they believe are in place to protect them from the toxic and ruined world on the surface." - IMDB 8.1/10
Vaults from Fallout (show and video game series): Post-nuclear war America.
Metro 2033 (Video Game, 2010): "Man has fallen, struggling to survive within Moscow's metro." - IMDB 8.0/10
Snowpiercer (Show, and movie): Humanity started cooling the planet to fight global warming, but it failed, and Earth froze completely. The rest live on one train, that goes around and around. Not underground, but still a sealed world.
Matrix: The humans who woke up, live underground, away from hostile robots.
Dwarven Ruins (Elder Scrolls): Dwarves lived underground, and they had machines too.
If not the environment
Maybe your people were a different kind of people (fantasy race, alien race, new types of humans, synth humans, clones, robotic humans, etc), who were forced underground by another group. This would open up a lot of race, nationality, existential questions and politics which are delicate to handle, but I think it can be exciting.
They could be a race that is sensitive to sunlight, either their eyes or skin.
They can only eat a specific type of mineral/stone that is deep in the ground.
They can only eat a specific type of plant , that grows in caves.
They can only drink a specific type of water , that is found in caves.
Underground environment
Their direct environment also plays a factor in how they are shaped as a society. You don't have to apply all of these.
Resources
How much crucial resources do they have? (water, food, air) If they lack any of it, then it'll become a a valuable thing, and it might even become currency. (rambling: Like a world where everybody wears oxygens masks, and you pay by giving some of it to another person, that actually sounds cool.)
Do they have to go up for more? If yes, you already have a job or a faction established. They could rangers, runners, scavengers, etc.
Are they abundant is any of them? If yes, then that resource is not that valuable.
Ecosystem, flora and fauna
Are there any plants, trees, flowers, insects in this world? Here are some keywords:
Herbs, Mosses, Plants, Forests → Trees, Crops, Edible Plants, Medicinal Plans
Bestiary, Birds, Reptiles, Mammals, Insects, Fish, Mounts or familiars (What do they keep as pets?) Livestock, Sacred animals, spiders
Did these animals or plants adapt to underground life in any form?
Transportation and communication
What are the modes of transportation and communication? Some ideas of mine:
Tubes to use for message. Where you put your letter in a cylinder. Or they could use birds or bats too.
Minecarts to move stuff
Or do they use mounts, like donkeys or lamas? Or they could use robots too. (Dwarven Automatons from Elder Scrolls, or classic scifi robots from the surface, or even these could be native species.)
Light sources
They let the light in with mirrors, or windows.
Insects
Glowing trees or flowers
Time
If they are underground how do they tell the time, if it's day or night? What is something that still happen cyclically? Some ideas:
They have a giant clock (steampunk, fantasy os scifi, anything works or Is there an AI that manages this?)
The artificial lights change
The glowing insect or plants change colour based on day and night cycles
Visual Environment
Some ideas for the visuals, how this world can look.
To make it more natural, they made huge gardens in caves.
Is it a cave structure or is it completely artificial (Like the Vaults in Fallout)?
You can play with the proportions too: Like the spaces are narrow and very tall, because they are in fact cracks.
Here are some great visually designed environments I love and could help you too.
Dwemer Ruins from Elder Scrolls, concept art, screenshots and gameplays
Shindaerey North Quarry from Dishonored. Not underground, but there is a section of this location which is is very interesting. Living spaces and libraries between dark stone and huge cracks.
Vaults from Fallout There are good pictures of Vault 33, Vault 81, and amazing concept arts from Vault 87
Structure of Society
How do they view the surface
Do they just not think of it?
Are they brainwashed to believe it's dangerous and there is actually no threat?
How sealed off they are?
How do they think of sunlight? Is it worshipped, or villainized?
Is the surface is in their religion in some way?
I couldn't think of any more underground specific questions today. Here's what I could gather hope it'll helps <3

Themes and Keywords The virtue of restraint. Self-sufficient development. Growth and refinement. Attention to detail. Craft and skill. Patiently growing, ripening. Making and perfecting. Accrual of resources. Tending, vigilance over, and care of small things. Humility and diligence. Astrology/Element The earth sign Virgo is ruled by Mercury, as are the eights. As mutable earth, it is a sign of Earth’s maturing phase. But it is the first decan of the sign, so it is the sowing before the fruition and gathering. The first decan of Virgo is ruled by the Sun. Virgo, the earth’s crust, is being warmed by the sun, encouraging the growth of the secret seed. Virgo is “virginal” in the sense of self-sufficiency. Through Virgo’s patient tending of the fertile soil, resources ripen in anticipation of an eventual plentiful harvest. Mythology/Time of Year Virgo gives us maidens, goddesses of the subtle virtues: grain goddesses like Persephone, Queen of the Underworld, or Astraea, the celestial virgin. Hindu goddess Saraswati is not only pure but also mercurial, as the goddess of wisdom and healing. She was the possessor of purifying knowledge: speech, language, music, and cleansing creative work that flows and purifies the essence and self of a person. Hermes (Mercury) also has a chthonic aspect. He is not only a child of Zeus, but a son of Maia. Maia, Greek mountain nymph with lovely dark eyes, was the eldest of the Pleiades. The Roman Maia was a goddess of growth, associated with Terra (Earth), and the Bona Dea (Good Goddess). The Bona Dea, whose rites of both chastity and fertility were for women only, may be an aspect of nature goddess Fauna. Maia also had ties to Vulcan, god of the forge who may have evolved from the Cretan Velchanos, god of nature and the netherworld, a youthful consort of the Great Goddess. Susan T. Chang

Satpura Tiger Reserve: Community Involvement in Wildlife Protection
Keywords: Satpura Tiger Reserve, community wildlife protection India, wildlife conservation Madhya Pradesh, animal sanctuaries in India, eco-tourism India, Satpura conservation model, wildlife healthcare India
In the heart of Madhya Pradesh, nestled within the central Indian highlands, lies the breathtaking Satpura Tiger Reserve (STR). A lesser-known gem compared to more commercial reserves like Kanha or Bandhavgarh, Satpura is renowned not just for its tranquil wilderness but also for its deeply rooted community involvement in wildlife protection.
Unlike many sanctuaries that rely solely on top-down enforcement, Satpura has pioneered a model of inclusive conservation, where local communities are empowered as protectors, guides, and stakeholders in safeguarding the region’s diverse flora and fauna. It’s a success story of how people and wildlife can thrive together, when given the tools, trust, and training.
In this blog, we explore how Satpura Tiger Reserve is transforming wildlife protection in India through community involvement, and what lessons it offers for conservation across the country.
🐅 About Satpura Tiger Reserve: A Natural Fortress
Established in 1981 and covering over 1,400 sq. km, Satpura is part of the Satpura-Maikal landscape, a vital conservation area for:
Bengal tigers
Leopards, sloth bears, Indian bison (gaur), and wild dogs
Over 300 bird species, including Malabar whistling thrush and crested serpent eagle
Reptiles, amphibians, and rich freshwater ecosystems
What sets Satpura apart is its rugged topography of sandstone peaks, deep gorges, and dense forests—an environment that has remained relatively untouched and ideal for wildlife to flourish.
🤝 The Power of People: Local Communities as Conservation Allies
Satpura's approach is built on the belief that communities living around protected areas must be part of the solution—not the problem. This philosophy is reflected in every layer of the reserve’s management.
Key Community Involvement Strategies:
Eco-Development Committees (EDCs): Formed in villages near the park, these bodies manage community funds from tourism revenue, coordinate patrols, and support conservation education.
Employment as eco-guides and guards: Local youth are trained in wildlife tracking, interpretation, and park surveillance.
Sustainable livelihood programs: From handicrafts to homestays, communities earn income without exploiting forest resources.
This shift from exclusion to inclusion has significantly reduced poaching, illegal grazing, and forest fires in the region.
🛡️ Patrolling With the People: Community Forest Watch Teams
Satpura has adopted a joint patrolling model, where trained villagers, forest guards, and NGOs form foot patrols and observation posts.
Community Rangers Are Involved In:
Monitoring wildlife movement and signs of distress
Removing snares and traps left by poachers
Reporting illegal encroachment or timber cutting
Tracking injured or conflict-prone animals
Locals often possess deep traditional knowledge of animal behavior and forest terrain—making them ideal frontline protectors.
🐘 Human-Wildlife Conflict Mitigation: A Shared Effort
Like many Indian reserves, Satpura faces challenges with elephants, wild boars, and leopards entering villages in search of food. But instead of relying solely on government compensation, Satpura encourages community-based conflict resolution.
Conflict Mitigation Tools:
Installation of solar-powered fencing and early warning systems
Use of bio-fencing (e.g., chili or cactus barriers)
Training communities to safely chase away or deter animals
Compensation schemes managed by village committees, ensuring quicker response times
This fosters greater tolerance toward wildlife and reduces retaliatory killings.
🏥 Wildlife Healthcare: Quick Response Through Community Networks
One of Satpura’s lesser-known strengths is its community-assisted wildlife healthcare model. Locals are trained to identify signs of injury, illness, or abnormal behavior and alert mobile veterinary units.
Healthcare Interventions Include:
Tranquilization and treatment of injured leopards or bears
Rescue and rehab of orphaned cubs or displaced animals
Disease surveillance in ungulate and carnivore populations
Partnerships with veterinary institutions for technical support
In cases of serious injury, animals may be transferred to larger facilities or sanctuaries like Vantara, which offer specialized care.
🚣‍♀️ Community-Led Eco-Tourism: A Sustainable Revenue Model
Satpura is one of the few tiger reserves in India to offer non-motorized safaris, including:
Canoe safaris on the Denwa River
Walking trails with tribal naturalists
Cycling and wilderness camping
These low-impact tourism models are run by local guides, generating income while promoting nature education and conservation ethics.
A portion of tourism revenue is directed back into:
Health and education infrastructure
Forest fire management
Compensation for crop or livestock losses
This feedback loop ensures communities benefit directly from protecting the forest.
🧠 Education and Capacity Building
The long-term success of Satpura’s conservation model depends on changing mindsets and building skills.
Education Programs Include:
School eco-clubs that teach wildlife values to children
Workshops for women on non-forest-based livelihoods
Training forest guards and guides in first aid, camera trapping, and conflict management
Public health awareness for zoonotic diseases and safe forest use
This multifaceted education strategy helps create a conservation-literate community.
🧬 Collaborating With Sanctuaries Like Vantara
While Satpura handles in-situ conservation, there are instances where severely injured, orphaned, or chronically ill animals require longer-term support.
That’s where Vantara, led by Vantara Anant Ambani, becomes an important ally.
How Vantara Complements Satpura’s Efforts:
Offers specialized medical treatment for animals with long-term injuries
Houses non-releasable wildlife in species-appropriate enclosures
Provides training programs in veterinary protocols for forest personnel
Supports data-sharing on wildlife rehabilitation and care outcomes
This synergy creates a national network for wildlife protection, where each organization strengthens the other.
📍 Visiting Satpura Responsibly
Best time to visit: October to April Entry point: Madhai or Pachmarhi Activities: Boat safaris, nature walks, night safaris, camping
🛑 Responsible Travel Tips:
Always hire registered local guides
Avoid demanding tiger sightings—enjoy the full biodiversity
Do not bring or use single-use plastics
Support local products and homestays over commercial chains
Final Thoughts
Satpura Tiger Reserve is more than a wilderness—it’s a living, breathing model of how conservation succeeds when people are included, not excluded. From patrolling to eco-tourism, from healthcare to conflict resolution, Satpura shows that community involvement isn’t just a feel-good strategy—it’s a necessity.
As other reserves in India look to balance biodiversity with social equity, Satpura provides a blueprint rooted in trust, training, and transformation.
In partnership with advanced facilities like Vantara, and guided by the spirit of coexistence, Satpura reminds us that the future of wildlife lies not just in protection—but in participation.
