5. what was your character's dream job as a kid? is it different than what their career ended up being?

Ever since Usagi was little she has had a love for marine life, so she really wanted to be a marine biologist! But her parents wanted her to be a doctor like the rest of her family, so that dream was shot down pretty quickly :( She ended up working as a nurse at Kunugigaoka Junior High, so her current job is pretty different from her dream job (though she was tasked with observing and taking notes on Korosensei, who is an octopus so... close enough?)

14. An embarrassing secret about your OC?

Usagi's a closet otaku! It's really only embarrassing to her though, bc her parents kind of shamed her into thinking that everybody would think she's childish for liking things like that as an adult. But everybody who finds out is just like "Oh that's cool :)" (Fuwa was actually the first person from Class 3-E to find out, after her and Usagi bumped into each other at a bookstore one afternoon after school. She saw her buying a stack of manga and got really excited, asking her what genres she likes and recommending her series to read, and Usagi is just standing there in shock lol. Korosensei is the second person to find out when he comes over to her apartment to return her umbrella to her and take care of her while she's sick ^///^ As Korosensei is walking to her living room, Usagi is just like 'WAIT MY COLLECTION' and she runs in to see Korosensei looking at her shelves full of manga and dvds and figures and then he turns to her and is like "Quite the collection you have!" bc he's like actually impressed and also he's just really excited to be learning something new about Usagi and she's just blushing and is like "Oh um..... thank you......" >///<)

26. least favorite food and color?

Usagi's least favorite food is tofu. She's tried it cooked and flavored a bunch of different ways, she just can't get herself to like it. Her least favorite color is green (not that she hates it, it's just her least favorite out of the whole rainbow)

28. is your OC a dog or cat person?

Usagi likes both! She loves hugging big fluffy buppy dogs and she loves petting soft kity cats ^_^ but of she had to pick one to have as a pet, she would want to have a tuxedo cat :) (though funnily enough Korosensei reminds her more of a dog lol)

3. is your character an indoor or outdoor person?

Ai is more of an indoor person! That's where all her favorite things are (video games, bed, ichimatsu) hehehe ^_^ She doesn't mind hanging out outside sometimes though, she does really like going beach combing and stargazing, and she likes going out with Ichi to feed cats together :)

10. what kind of music do they enjoy?

Ai likes shibuya kei, bossa nova, and jazz!

12. how well does your OC do in school?

Ai was a straight A student in high school, though she never joined any clubs, and just wasn't very social in general. She just did the work and then clocked out so she could just chill (and sometimes either hang out with or be a menace to the matsuno bros lol)

Day 5 of @khoc-week

Today was a little more upbeat than the previous few days, but I gotta say I really like these! They were very fun to write, so enjoy!

Day 5 Aug 5th Gummiship: Favorite and least favorite worlds, and how they handle going to each

✦Lief

Favorite World: Enchanted Dominion

Least Favorite: Dwarf Woodlands

While both worlds are fairly wooded, Lief much prefers the multiple open fields and fairly decent paths of Enchanted Dominion. This is compared to the thick forest and many swamp-like areas that cover the Dwarf Woodlands. If Lief has to take a mission into the Dwarf Woodlands, she tends to wear lighter clothes than her sweater. She also likes to style her hair differently to keep it off of her neck. She will however still bring her sweater with her, just in case she ventures down into the mine. It can get chilly down there!

✦Kiti

Favorite World: Wonderland

Least Favorite: Beast’s Castle

Kiti likes Wonderland because everything is a little bit topsy turvy there, so it makes Kiti feel a little more okay about their own inner turmoil, and a little less topsy turvy themselves. They still love all the fun and wild adventures that can be had in the world though and are a fan of the Cheshire cat. Kiti will refuse to do missions that go to Beast’s Castle, and the world it's in. Not because of the spooky castle, or the beast, or even the talking furniture. It's just too cold. No thank you!

Favorite World: Dwarf Woodlands

Least Favorite: Dwarf Woodlands

Dante has a love-hate relationship with the Dwarf Woodlands. He loves looking at all the old trees, and the interesting shapes they've grown into over their long lives. He also likes picking a flower or two from the meadows for Taffy, when they aren't on missions together. However, he usually ends up sticky and gross from the humid swamp air, and he is definitely not a fan. Dante can handle the dry heat of Agrabah just fine, but the Drawf Woodlands Humidity always does him in.

Favorite World: Daybreak Town

Least Favorite: Olympus Coliseum

Tagen isn't against going to other worlds but any means, but he rather likes it when missions or even just the daily hustle and bustle keeps him close to home. Plus there is lots to see and do around Daybreak Town. Tagen doesn't avoid Olympus, but he doesn't really like how their definition of ‘hero’ makes him feel. He doesn't really know how to put that feeling into words, but he does wonder why there's only one sure-fire way to become and be a hero. Or at least, so it seems. Especially when everyone is so different from each other. Maybe the hero business really isn't for him.

✦Taffy

Favorite World: Castle Of Dreams

Least Favorite: Agrabah

Taffy loves the castle of dreams, and the world it's in. While she has no desire to meet or fall for that world's prince (she's already got her own), when the word about the ball spread among daybreakers, Taffy couldn't help but want to go. She's a romantic. Dante and her did have their own makeshift ‘ball’, at which they learned that, A) Waltzing is a lot harder than it seems, and B) you shouldn't dance romantically, or really even at all, on the rooftops. Luckily neither of them were hurt. When it comes to Agrabah, Taffy just doesn't like the sand in her shoes. Taffy’s shoes can take a lot, but maybe not sand, and definitely not scorching hot sand. On another note, Taffy would have loved the Candy Kingdom, if she ever had been able to see it!

✦Everest

Favorite World: Beast’s Castle

Least Favorite: Wonderland

Everest loves the magical feeling the snow around the Beast’s castle has. Even when it's a raging storm, the castle is one of the few worlds with snow, so Everest likes watching it. By no means does he actually like being outside in it, but it sure is pretty! Everest has a small grudge against, and more specifically the rose maze in it. He's come home to his flat with snags, scrapes, thorns, cuts, you name it, all from that one area! He would rather just avoid the maze altogether now, and save the supplies.

Happy @khoc-week

I’m so excited to participate again. This year I'm using a character that I've previously written about for this event (Tagen, part of kh oc week 2020), and looking into his past! This is mostly going to be a story about a khux party, and how it came to fall apart, and somewhat how they moved on after. I have future plans for both Tagen and Lief in my ongoing fic, so I can't give everything away, but I don't know if I’ll ever use the other four again. Initially, the other four were created for just one part of the fic that is now already published, and two of them were just names mentioned in passing. So I thought it would be fun to give them a bit of a spotlight alongside Tagen and Lief! I should mention that these guys are all Unicornus, so I didn't really feel like writing that six times over. They are all in the same party, anyway!

So without further ado

Day 1 Aug 1st Appearance: Short Profiles

Name: Tagen

Pronouns: He/Him/His

Picture:

Bio: Tagen and his friend Lief were the original founding members of the party, followed by a few friends who sadly didn't stick around once the party started to fall apart. Most of the time Tagen is a pretty chill person. He loves getting into the flow of missions and meeting up with his friends. He's also really passionate about the party and the work he and Lief have put into it. Tagen can be a little hot headed and prideful at times, however, this is mostly because of that passion he feels, for his work and for his friends.

Name: Lief

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

Picture:

Bio: Lief is the other co-founder of the party and best friend to Tagen. She is pretty cool and collected, generally decent at calming others down with her level-headedness, especially Tagen. However, sometimes Lief herself can have a one-track mind when it comes to things, losing track of important stuff along the way. Although she and Tagen are great friends, Lief sometimes wishes he would be a little less stubborn and lend a hand with playing mediator, instead of sometimes being the cause of the problem. Most of the time though, Lief looks forward to meeting up, whether just the two of them or a small group of their friends, as a moments reprieve from the stresses of running a party.

Name: Everest

Pronouns: He/Him/Him, They/Them/Theirs

Picture:

Bio: Everest, while not a founding member, joined during the party's early days, quickly becoming fast friends with both Lief and Tagen. He and Tagen were even partners for a while, however, they ended their relationship on mutual terms. They are still great friends, and really close with each other, as well. Everest is pretty gentle and caring with his friends, making him a great aid to Lief. He does tend to worry about his party members, a little more than he probably should, especially when they take on tougher and more dangerous missions. For the most part, he's pretty good at keeping his over worrying to himself, and approaching things pretty logically.

Name: Kiti

Pronouns: They/Them/Theirs

Picture:

Bio: Kiti is an old friend of Lief’s from days before the party. The two fell out of contact, and it was some of Kiti’s current friends, Dante and Taffy, who convinced them to join the party. Kiti didn't know at the time, however, that it was Lief’s party, and definitely had some mixed feelings about it. Kiti definitely prefers to stick close to their friends but isn't afraid to speak up when they see something is wrong. Being a friend of Lief’s has caused some tension, despite a few perks in some places. Kiti does value being able to speak to at least one of the party leaders on a more real level, however, they also feel the disconnect between leadership and average party wielder more because of this, and is definitely frustrated by it.

Name: Taffy

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers

Picture:

Bio: Taffy is one of Kiti’s closest friends, and one of the reasons they ended up joining the party at all. Much like her name, Taffy is a very sweet and bubbly person, generally bringing a smile to everyone nearby. Some people try to say she's too loud and boisterous, however Kiti, and Dante, Taffy’s partner, always tell her she shouldn't change how she is, no matter what other people say to try and bring her down. Taffy and Dante have been together a good while, and are almost always seen with each other. It's a bit of a running joke in the party, though Kiti says it's really only half of a joke at this point, that those two are proof that soulmates exist.

Name: Dante

Picture:

Bio: Dante is a friend of Kiti’s, and Taffy’s partner. He is pretty kind, but also mischievous, and a goofball. Most of the time he just likes to make people laugh. It makes him and Taffy and great pair. Dante would also do anything for Taffy, she is absolutely his everything. However, he still loves to make time for his friends, especially to bother Kiti. Dante is much like Kiti when it comes to the disconnect between average members and party leadership, but he is not quite as passionate about fighting to make things better. He will of course stand by his friend, but Dante feels that sometimes their methods aren't the best way to approach things, and would rather let things take their course. But Dante has always been a bit more go with the flow than Kiti has.

Day 7, and the final day of @khoc-week

We’ve come to the end of yet another wonderful KH OC Week! Once again I had a lot of fun participating in this event, and it definitely got me writing more than I have in the past few months. I don't know if I’ll end up ever using Everest, Kiti, Taffy, or Dante again in my ongoing fic, but Tagen and Lief I definitely have plans for. Their stories have already been set in motion. Maybe I’ll give the other four a cameo, since i’ve definitely grown more fond of them over the course of this week. If not, it was nice to shine a spotlight on them this week, at least a little.

As for the prompt for today, I always love going into character connections, because it's fun to look at past, present, and future connections they have. While I didn't really tease much, I did leave some hints about what's to come. So, until (hopefully) next year, and enjoy!

Day 7 Aug 7 Wayfinder: Connections between each character, old connections they no longer have, and possible hints at new connections as well

✦Lief had a few friends before she met Tagen, including having known Kiti. But if there’s one friendship that stuck with her from that time, it was her old friend Arour. It was Arour that really ignited the fighting spirit inside Lief, and helped her to trust in, and believe in herself. Arour gave Lief the small metal choker she wears, in the hopes it would always remind her to be tough. Sadly, Arour and Lief drifted apart. Arour joining a party and not having as much time for those outside of it, and Lief meeting Tagen and going on to form a party of her own. Lief wore the choker throughout her time leading her and Tagens old party and still wears it to this day. For Lief, it has a lot of sentiment, and she definitely keeps it close now in her new party, while she searches for her missing party members.

✦Tagen can't remember if he really had any close friends before Lief, but if he did they must not have been worth remembering. He and Lief were fast friends, and in days before they started the party, the two would do everything together. Lief would end up dragging Tagen on missions, introducing him to her friends, and inviting him to do events together. At some point, Lief found out about Tagens, well… lack of other real friends, and wanted to do something for him to make sure he knew they were real friends. She ended up not only getting him what became his signature shades, but also they ended up splitting a pair of heart earrings, Tagen wearing one, and Lief wearing the other. After their ‘falling out’, Tagen no longer wears the earring that matches Lief’s and even left his shades behind at his flat for a stint. However, the day he decided to put them on, mostly because he needed them to help look for rare items, was the day he found his new friends. Or rather, they found him. While Tagen has begun to wear the shade regularly again, the earring sits forgotten somewhere in his flat. The tradition still lives on, however, with Tagen on one of his new friends, who he is really close to, splitting a pair of simple studs between them.

✦Everest is not much for sentimental items, but definitely treasure time and memories the most. During his time in Tagen and Lief’s party, he spent a good amount of time forging friendships and strong bonds with a good bit of his fellow party mates. He also spent a fair bit of time with Lief, Tagen, and Kiti, some of his closest friends within the party. While he is still in touch with a few friends of his from the old party, and he even joined Kiti in their new party, Everest lost contact with a good amount of people when the party fell apart. Now he holds onto those memories, and treasures them even more because it helps ease the ache when he finds he's missing his old pals.

✦During the time between knowing Lief, and joining the party, Kiti had a lot of self-doubt about who they were. They only really started to fight that self-doubt thanks to their friends Taffy and Dante. Kiti was already good friends with them, but Kiti really became close with them as they all grew as people. Taffy really helped Kiti come out of their shell, and encouraged them to embrace who they were. The two became thick as thieves, and Kiti was the first to hear about taffy’s feelings for Dante, and Vise versa, which they thought was funny, but they didn't want to betray either of their friends' trust. Kiti and Taffy now have complimentary chokers, which they both still wear to this day. The choker means a lot to Kiti, not just because it's something to connect her to Taffy, but because it was actually Dante who got the chokers for the two. When they left to find a new party, Kiti was surprised but grateful that Everest wanted to come with them, and now they don't know what they would have done without him, or if they would have been brave enough to actually join another party if he wasn't there. Even though they aren't in the same party anymore, Kiti still meets up with their old friends pretty regularly, even dragging Everest along so they can all catch up.

✦Dante, much like Everest, treasures time and memories more than sentimental items. However, he understands the value other people see in a meaningful gift. Dante actually met Kiti via a mutual friend, before he met Taffy. However, once the two met Taffy, they were all fast friends, with Taffy and Dante becoming partners somewhere down the line. It was actually Kiti the helped him work up the nerve to admit his feelings to Taffy, and if it weren't for them, he and Taffy might not have ever become partners. Now he couldn't imagine his life without her in it. The three friends remained close throughout their time in the old party, and despite being a different party than Kiti now, the three are still great friends. After everything that happened, Dante is very protective of his friend and partner. Most of all it makes him happy that Taffy gets to still see her best friend. He would do anything to see Taffy smile.

✦Taffy couldn't imagine her life without Kiti or Dante in it. Taffy was super shy with them at first, but soon they both helped her come out of her shell, bringing out the joy and happiness in her heart. Taffy found she was always wearing a smile when she was around them and looked forward to seeing them every day. If it hadn't been for Kiti helping her work through her anxiety, Taffy probably would have never tried to talk to Dante about her feelings. Taffy was always happy to help push Kiti to be more confident, and she always appreciated how Kiti returned it in kind. She also always really valued the support Dante would give her. She was both surprised and ecstatic when Dante gave her and Kiti the chokers, and treasures hers a lot. Taffy really valued the friendship she had with those two even more during their time in the old party. She values it even more not that she and Dante are in a different party from Kiti, and looks forward to meeting up to catch up even more, including when Everest comes along. She is just glad both Dante and Kiti are still in her life.

Day 4 of @khoc-week

Today's prompt definitely ties in with yesterday's and takes a deeper look at how everything these six went through affected them. Not much to say on this one, other than the prompts tomorrow are definitely lighter in spirit! Enjoy this one though!

Day 4 Aug 4th Determination: What each of them will fight for, how those things got obscured, lost, and/or changed along the way, and possibly how they all found those things again

Between the six of them, they each have different things they value fighting for. And while somewhere along the way, they all may have thought they were fighting for different things, really their goals never stopped overlapping.

✦ Lief’s main drive in life is her friends and party mates. It was one of the reasons they ended up helping start the party in the first place. However somewhere throughout the stresses of running the party, and the party falling apart, Lief felt as though she lost touch with that part of herself a little. And as sad as it made her feel at first, she didn't really find that drive within herself again until she had joined a new party. Now that she had left the stress of running a party behind, she realized she enjoyed just being just a friend rather than a leader.

✦ Whether he realizes it or not, Tagen can be fiercely protective of his friends, and those he's let into his circle. He often refuses to give up on them, even if the situation is exhausting or frustrating. When the party fell apart, it definitely left Tagen feeling bitter and betrayed. He did his best to keep his emotions in check, but Tagen did lash out at points. After all, was said and done, Tagen was left feeling hurt and lost, a drift in the world for a while. It wasn't until he found new friends that he started to heal and grow. And over time Tagen grew into a better person, but still just protective of his friends.

✦ Dante is very loyal to his close friends and his partner. He will stand by his friend's sides when they are fighting for something they believe in, or standing up for what's right. He feels it's the least he can do, seeing his friends as braver than himself, to actually stand and fight. He will however always fight to protect his friends. From heartless, from bullies, from people who just say nasty things, even the Moogle if he has to. Somewhere along the way, Dante realized he couldn't protect everyone, and not everyone wanted him to. He and Taffy ended up making the decision to leave the party before their friend Kiti did. At first, the party they chose had room for their friend, but by the time Kiti was looking to join there were no spots left. Dante mostly just wants to be there for his partner now.

✦ Everest hates seeing his party mates hurt more than anything. He always did his best to try and ask what was bothering them, help them if they got hurt, or just be there for them if they needed it. It weighed on him when internal issues caused such distress among his friends. He felt practically helpless in those moments. Everest fest both a sense of guilt and a sense of relief when he decided to follow Kiti to their new party. Mostly he didn't want them to be alone, but, but also, he knew deep down it was time to move on from the old party. It took a while, but Everest realized, that sometimes the only way to heal is to move forward. He still misses some of his old friends though.

✦ Taffy won't admit it to anyone, but she always tried to be a source of smiles and laughter in her group of friends. She would rather see them happy than with their spirits down. It's one of the few reasons she always keeps extra candy on her. As time went on, Taffy started to feel as though lifting others spirits up with her own was more of an obligation than something she just wanted to do, especially as the party began to fall apart more. It felt as if she wasn't all happy and smiles herself, she was contributing to the state of things. This also didn't leave her much room to deal with her own emotions towards everything going on. Kiti and Dante tried to help, and reassure her it would be okay if wasn't her normal self, but Taffy just ended up getting more becoming more burnt out. It's what really pushed her and Dante to make the decision to leave. Taffy still struggles with letting herself have down days, but she's getting better about it.

✦ Kiti wanted desperately to believe in the party. For Kiti themself, for their new friends, and for their old ones. It's why they put so much effort into talking and working with party leadership to try and solve issues when they arose. Even if nobody else would try. They were glad when they joined that they would have their two friends alongside them, and they felt welcomed by Everest. Most of all, after some apprehension over Lief being an old friend of theirs, they were relieved that they still got along pretty decently after all this time. So when Tagen wouldn't swallow his pride, and accused the rest of his party mates of doing nothing, Kiti decided it wasn't worth it anymore. They just wish they hadn't been too late to join Taffy and Dante’s new party. They are thankful, however, that Everest came with them. Now, Kiti picks their battles carefully and avoids inner party drama… most of the time.

Day 2 of @khoc-week

Today, I gave a little more insight into each character via their pockets/inventory. I use those two terms interchangeably here. There is also a short fic at the end that ties in with it all! Enjoy!

Day 2 Aug 2nd Inventory: What's in their pockets and/or bags, plus any equipment excluding weapons

Between these six, their inventories are mostly practical, but also pretty varied.

✦ Liefs pockets are mostly filled with practical things, primarily mission oriented. However, she always tends to have a small pad of paper on her person, for writing down mission details, party needs and issues, or anything she needs to remember. She lets Tagen use the pad to write stuff down when he needs to, but she wouldn't mind it if he got his own notepad.

✦ Tagen tends to keep his pockets pretty empty. Not because he's unprepared, but because he is always on the lookout for those rare items when out on missions, and likes to have the extra room. He also never leaves home without his hat or glasses, finding both useful throughout his day, and also feeling like he's missing something when he forgets one of them.

✦ Everest probably has the most extensive inventory, having everything from basic mission supplies to first aid beyond what most would have on them. He finds he likes to be prepared, but at the same time not weighed down. So while he has a good amount of supplies, he doesn't have everything. Good chances are however, he either has it at his flat or knows where to find what you need.

✦ Kiti once again has pretty practical pockets, but they absolutely love to collect new bows, and have a small collection of them. Their friend Taffy helps them keep an eye out for new ones that Kiti doesn't have, and that they can afford, or are willing to enter the event to get. Really it's about the simple pleasures for them, even when things are frustrating.

✦ Taffy’s love of sweets and her sweet inspired name are actually complete coincidence. She always has some form of candies on her, with fruit flavors, floral flavors, and even honey-flavored things being her favorite. Though she does prefer hard candy to any other type of candy. Taffy always has pieces to share, with friends, with party members, or just with people she meets throughout her day.

✦ Dante also keeps his pockets mostly empty. Everyone thinks it's because of one reason or another, but Dante just likes to keep his pockets open so he can hold some of Taffy's things for her. It also means he can mooch off her candy, not that she would actually mind though.

⇾ Story: Un-necessities

The market plaza was bustling, keyblade wielders and shop vendors mingling together going about their day. Kiti, Taffy, and Dante were no different from anyone else there, strolling through the plaza just taking in the afternoon ambiance. Kiti and Taffy were sharing a small bag of clove flavored candies when Kiti suddenly paused midstep and quickly turned to look in the window they had just passed.

“Oh, my, lux. No way!” They said, shielding their eyes so they could get a better look in the window.

“What is it?” Taffy asked, coming to join them, and trying to get a good like. She did her best to combat the glare on the glass, but it was awkward with one hand holding the small bag of hard candies.

“That bow! It freakin’ lights up!!” Kiti pointed, excitement clear on their face.

“Another one?” Dante, who had also stopped when Kiti spotted the window display, casually asked. “Do you really need it? Don't you have quite a few already?”

“Yeah but not one that glows silly!” Taffy pulled away from the window, and playfully shoved her partner.

Kiti nodded in agreement, smiley at their friends. “Exactly! This ones cool. I’ve gotta have it.”

“Heh, alright.” Dante only shook his head with a smile, knowing there was no use arguing with Taffy and Kiti. They had done this silly dance before.

Taffy handed off the bag of candies to Dante, as She and Kiti headed inside the shop with the display. It wasn't long before they reemerged with defeated looks on their faces.

“What up?” Dante inquired, before tossing one of the candies in his mouth.

Kiti slumped against the wall next to him. “Uuuhhg…”

“Something wrong?”

“It's too expensive Dante. Kiti doesn't have enough for it.”

“Maann why do things gotta be so expensive..” Kiti let out an exasperated sigh.

Dante only smiled. “I mean, it is a light up bow.”

Kiti stuck out their lip at him in a mock pout, and giving him a gentle bap on his leg. “That's not the point, Dante. Maybe I just want nice things, and the dang Moogle charges way too much.”

“We could always try and earn enough to get it before it's not for sale anymore.” Taffy piped up.

“But what if I don't want the bow?” Dante teased, only for taffy to stick her tongue out at him, knowing that he was only messing about. “then you can save it for something else doofus.”

Dante only gave her a puppy dog face, which made taffy roll her eyes and grin. “Am I really a doofus, Taffy?”

“Oh shush goofball.”

“Gross guys.” Kiti couldn't help but smile at them. “Though that is a decent idea, Taffy. But taking on missions, and doing events just to afford the moogles stupid prices? Talk about ridiculous.”

“You’re the one who wants the bow.” Taffy only said, taking her candy back from her partner, then turning to help Kiti back onto their feet.

Kiti only laughed, accepting the offer and taking Taffy’s hand. “I know. I say it's ridiculous, but I've done it before and I’ll do it again.”

Dante shook his head, still smiling. “Then how about we get a move on.”

Day 6 of @khoc-week

Today's prompt was very short and sweet. So one thing I love doing when it comes to khux characters is not just including keyblade options, but also incorporating medals into their battles data. While not every character's medal collection would be as extensive as some of ours were, I imagine that they all still had favorites, and did events for that medal they just had to get! It's very fun to imagine! Anyway, enjoy!

Day 6 Aug 6th Coliseum: Keyblade Preference, Medal preference and any favorite medals, and mission tactics

✦ Tagen

Keyblade Preference: Missing Ache, but will switch to other keyblades is necessary

Medal Preference: doesn't really care, but will stock his keyblade with boost and power medals if he can

Mission Tactics: Tagen generally aims to get the maximum amount of damage in before the enemy has a chance to land a blow

✦ Lief

Keyblade Preference: Switches between Fairy Stars and Stroke of Midnight

Medal Preference: Balanced Medals, no real favorites as long as they are useful

Mission Tactics: Lief prefers going into missions able to hit hard, defend well, and offer any support if needed

✦ Kiti

Keyblade Preference: Fenrir

Medal Preference: Loves cool toon and illustrated medals, especially if they are power medals

Mission Tactics: Kiti likes being a heavy hitter on missions, so those unsure of themselves or who aren't as strong can stay safe and take a back seat

✦ Everest

Keyblade Preference: Switches between Counterpoint and Diamond Dust

Medal Preference: Has a good stock of healing and boost medals, but also a few that pack a punch, he has a real fondness for his Illustrated Sora & Pals medal, it just makes his heart warm

Mission Tactics: Everest likes being on support, healing, and boosting his teammates. However, he won't leave himself defenseless and always leave room for hard-hitting medals on his keyblade too.

✦ Dante

Keyblade Preference: Divine Rose

Medal Preference: Speed and Boost medals, also likes copy medals

Mission Tactics: Dante prefers to hit fast, and have the support to back it up. He’s in and out as quick as possible, landing a few fast blows while he’s close to his target

✦ Taffy

Keyblade Preference: Moogle O’ Glory

Medal Preference: Likes anything cute or Unique, and is very fond of her Tama and Jack & Sally medals

Mission Tactics: Taffy likes to be more of a front-running hard hitter, while still able to offer some support when needed. She would rather deal a heavy barrage of blows to her target and dodge when she has to.

Day three of @khoc-week

So the prompts for today I definitely had to play fast and loose with because these are KHuX ocs, and when dealing with khux, that's a whole mess that I also have plans for, and I've already technically written about/set in motion for Tagen specifically (I’ll get to Lief soon hopefully). So I decided I would just write a little more about what happened to start the collapse of the party, and also towards the end of it, which was technically already written but hey!

Day 3 Aud 3rd Data: Events leading up to the party falling apart

⇾ Story: Catalyst

“Tagen!” Lief called across the gardens, panic lacing her voice. Tagen and Everest both as their friend and party mate reached them, both confused by what was up. “We've got a problem.”

Lief stopped in front of the two barely catching her breath, her notepad in hand. Tagen felt a shard of ice creep into his heart, Lief’s words worrying him. She sounded serious, more serious than normal, and his face must have given his emotions away.

“I was just checking numbers and doing rounds, and.. Well, look!” Lief held out her pad scrapped with a few pages of panicked writing. Tagen only parsed a few words of it, before gently putting a hand on Lief’s shoulder.

“Just tell me.”

Lief blinked, a hint of frustration crossing her face, but only let out a puff of breath. “At least three of our members haven't been.. active as of late.”

“Are they okay?” Everest piped up. While he himself wasn't one of the party leaders, he still cared. He was also friends with a decent amount of the party.

“Yeah, I don’t think its.. Its not just their numbers.” Lief nervously scanned her notes.

“Well, we’ve never really been that insistent on numbers, it just wasn't our way.” Tagen said in response, not understanding what Lief was getting at.

“I think that might be part of the problem, Tagen.:

“What do you mean?”

“Well..” It was clear Lief was uncomfortable, but she only took a moment to gather her words. “At least one of them has put in to transfer.”

“What?!” Tagens reaction came out sharper than he intended, but he hadn't been expecting that to be Lief’s response. At least he knew he needed to take moment, taking a breath, and shutting his mouth.

“Did they defect?” Everest dared to ask. Lief looked down at her notepad.

“No, not as far as I can tell. They're just leaving our party.”

“At least it's just one person. The other two probably just needed a break or something like that.” Everest gave Lief an encouraging smile, trying to look on the bright side.

“Mmmm… that's the thing-”

“Who is it.”

“What?”

“Who all was it?” Tagen had suddenly spoken up, startling Lief and interrupting her a little. He was less sharp with his words this time, but his expression was still pretty grim.

“That's what- It’s David, Leon, and Moki. Those three usually stick together..”

“So the other two are as good as gone.” Tagen let out a sigh, crouching down, hanging his head, and resting his arms on his knees. “Couldn’t they have talked to us first?”

“I have this bad feeling they did, or at least tried. It has been an issue in the past.” Lief sat down on the grass next to him, looking just as defeated.

“Couldn't we go talk to them now? Ask them…” Tagen wasn't sure what he wanted at the moment, trailing off as he spoke. He only felt a small ping of betrayal. Everest spoke up as he joined the other two on the ground.

“It might be worth a shot, but if they have already made the decision to leave you two might be disappointed.”

“You’re right. They may just wish to be left alone at this point.”

Tagen couldn't believe how easily Lief was willing to just give in. He couldn't help but feel they should at least try. “But-! Only one of them is for sure leaving! If anything we should at least go and talk to the other two!” Tagen got to his feet. “I’m going to! I..I mean, worst case it's only three people right?” Tagen hoped his voice wouldn't betray just how much he was trying to convince himself of the last part as he said it.

“Yknow what? You’re right, we should try to part on good terms at the very least.” Lief agreed though Tagen felt she had missed the point of what he had meant. He wasn't going to argue, he was just glad for the support, and didn't want to bring the mood down again.

“Tha’ts the spirit!” Everest smiled at them, standing up, and helping Lief up as well. She nodded her thanks.

“We should probably get on it after missions. We need to get to our own mission for the day anyway.” Lief turned a few pages in her notepad to look over the details. “The day is dragging on.”

“Yeah after missions, that sounds like a plan.”

Summary: Parties are an essential part of a keyblade wielder's life. However not every party has the same staying power as others. And when a party member leaves, it can be a stressful thing for everyone involved.

Off to the side of the fountain square under a useless street lamp, Tagen paced back and forth in front of his party members. Around them, friendly chatter filled the air, mixing well with the sound of the fountain itself. Groups of other keyblade wielders gathered together, greeting each other as the day slowly got started. Some huddled around the bulletin boards to look at missions, or events, others hanging out waiting for their friends, and simply chatting to pass the time. No one seemed to pay much mind to the tension that flitted in the air between the small group as they watched Tagen grip his hat tighter in his hands.

"You've been doing this same routine everyday for the past month Tagen. Calm down." A boy in a star cover coat spoke up, letting out a sigh as he leaned against the lamp post.

"Yeah, Everest is right." Another spoke up, and they stepped out of Tagen's path. "At this rate how do you have any energy left for missions? You spend most of it pacing. I mean what's got you in a huff now anyway?" Tagen paused midstep, ready to let all his built up frustration flow. However, he was cut off by their other friend, her hand gently resting on his shoulder.

"He's probably just anxious because Dante and Taffy aren't here yet, Kiti. Leave him alone." Tagen nodded, confirming the statement. Tagen closed his eyes, letting out a quick sigh of "Thanks Lief." And taking a moment to calm down. However, it didn't last long. When he looked back up, Kiti's eyes were wide, making anxiety stab right back into his chest.

"Oh, you guys didn't.. hear?" Kiti asked, after a moment of hesitation. One of their hands reached to nervously play with the back of their pixie cut.

"Hear what?" Tagen asked, voice slightly wavering. Everest stood up from where he was leaning, reaching out to weave his fingers reassuringly with Tagen's. Kiti busied themselves with brushing invisible dirt off their pink striped pants. Tagen clenched his free hand, and pulled away from Everest. He wasn't finding comfort in the gesture at the moment, or at Kiti's clear avoidance of his question. Lief only took a step toward Kiti, giving them a gentle smile, trying to ease the situation. Kiti didn't look up, not wanting to meet any of the others in the eye.

"Well?" Tagen asked again, his harsh tone covering up the warble in his voice. Lief flashed him a glare, as Kiti pinched the bridge of their nose.

"Why do I have to be the bearer of bad news! Taffy and Dante aren't coming." They said, letting out an exasperated huff. Lief and Everest looked at them with shocked expressions, as Tagen only hung his head, anger silencing his voice.

"Why not?" Lief was the first to speak.

"You know why. The two of them went and joined a new party together." Kiti said slumping back against the street lamp, looking dejected.

"... At least the two of them are together...." Everest said, as if trying to find a bright side to the situation. Kiti only looked up, a defeated look in their eyes. Tagen suddenly stomped his foot on the ground, startling his friends.

"There has to be some way we can fix this." He said, choking back the waver in his tone. "We built a party in the first place. Can't we do it again?"

The other three looked at each other with uncertainty.

"I'm not sure that's how it works, Tagen.." Lief spoke up, reaching out for him. He took a step back, willing the tears he could feel pricking his eyes not to be visible.

"Why not then?" Tagen asked. “There has got to be plenty of new wielders out there looking for a party."

"Are we even a party anymore?" Kiti countered "We're more like just a group of friends with delusions of being a party still. Really we should just go to moogle and get stickers again."

Before anymore could be said, Tagen had closed the distance between Kiti and himself, reaching out and hauling them up but the straps of their tank top.

"How dare you say that! Of course we're still a party! We worked hard for these badges, and we deserve to keep them! It's the ones who left us who don't deserve them anymore!" Tagen spat, anger boiling over. Kiti stood there in shock, but only for a moment.

"They don't deserve those anymore? They helped to earn that badge Tagen!" They quickly grabbed Tagen's lapels in return, spitting out their response. "You wouldn't have that badge you're so proud of if it wasn't for them! The only thing you're doing by holding onto it is lying to yourself!" Kiti lifted Tagen onto his toes for just a moment to make their point, before letting him drop back down into his feet. However, when Kiti went to pull back Tagen kept on hand firmly gripped on their top, eyes full of fire.

"Well, at least I haven't given up on trying to rebuild our party before we've even tried, unlike you. There are always wielders looking to switch partie-" Kiti grabbed Tagen's wrist, twisting it upwards.

"And do to other parties what happened to us?! That's exactly how we ended up here! And you're willing to do it right back?"

"I'm at least willing to try something! You're just too upset because your so-called best friends left you behind!" Within a moment Kiti yanked Tagen forward, landing a swift blow on his jaw, before kicking him to the ground.

"EVER CONSIDER THAT MAYBE EVERYONE LEFT BECAUSE OF YOU?!"

Tagen was already on his feet, ready to retaliate, hot fury burning in his veins. His heart shaped glasses barely still sitting on his face.

"Enough! " With a flash of light, Everest was firmly holding his keyblade out in front of him. Lief quickly grabbed Tagen's arm pulling him back.

"Stop it! Both of you! There was no need for any of that!" She said, looking between the two of them. While her expression was angry, Tagen could see the heartbreak clear in her eyes. Guilt started to wash over him. "Everyone who left did so of their own accord, you know that Kiti. It had nothing to do with anyone's leadership." Kiti only looked to the side, begrudgingly nodding.

"And Tagen." Life's grip tightened on his arm, making him wince slightly. "Kiti is missing their friends, just like you have been for the last month. So of course they are upset. You have no right to rub that in their face." Lief let go after that, leaving Tagen to rub at his arm and jaw.

He watched as Everest slowly lowered his keyblade, hesitating, in case either Tagen or Kiti decided to become physical again. The two met eyes for just a moment, Kiti still glaring at Tagen, who quickly turned to collect his hat off the ground.

"... Sorry Kiti... I-"

"Yeah whatever. Let's just go choose a mission or something." Kiti cut Tagen off, already starting to make their way over towards the mission boards.

Tagen gripped his hat tightly once again, before fixing it atop his head, and adjusting his glasses. Lief flashed him a reassuring smile, before following suit of their party members, Everest having already met up with Kiti. The tension Tagen had been carrying settled in his stomach as a knot of anxiety. He shrugged it off, electing to ignore it. This would all be forgotten in a few days, right?

KHuX Week day 2! Today I went with Friendship as the main prompt!

Loosing old friends, but also, finding new ones!

Feat. Two more of my KHuX ocs!

Now for today's bonus! It actually sort of ties into the image above! Again this is a teaser for a much larger multiple part fanfiction I hope to start publishing soon!

This prompt was Divided, the teaser deals with the concept of "dead" parties, parties falling apart, and people leaving them.
