Dumb ship headcanons
Carnelian had a crush on Moon but thought she was too tough and/or undesirable to be in love.
Snowfall thinks Glory is pretty, and tries to sit next to her at every royal meeting.
Pike is the professional 3rd wheel to Anemone and Tamarin.
Sunny and Fatespeaker are in a QPR.
Every night after Kestrel and the dragonets were asleep, Dune and Webs would kiss by the torchlight.
Sequoia and Monarch were making preparations for their wedding when the Tree Wars broke out.
Among Alloromantic mudwings, Polyamory is extremely common. The idea of settling down with just one partner is practically unheard of in mudwing society.
Swordtail has a crush on Hailstorm (post transition) but never says anything about it.
One day Anemone finds an old novel written by Coral when she was an dragonet. The novel is about a seawing princess and a mudwing princess falling in love. The princesses are named “Coral” and “Moorhen” respectively.
There has been confusion on who Thorn was dating. Some said it was six-claws. Others said Smolder. Thorn cleared this confusion with one word. “Both”
Chameleon and Mastermind get put into the sand pit. And they fall in love. (“Two bros, chillin in a sand pit. 0 feet apart cause they gay as hell.”)
And finally:
Arctic very quickly “befriended” Vigilance’s husband.
ANON I LOVE ALL OF THESE SO I WILL GIVE A REACTION TO EVERY ONE !!!!
1: Orghhhhh yes yes yes doomed yuri !!!! I’m always a fan of Moon x Carnelian :3
2: OKAY WAIT THATS KINDA A ADORABLE SHIP 🥺🥺🥺 and even if Glory wouldn’t have feelings for Snowfall back I still think it’s cute :3

4: RAHHHH YES !!!
5: BAHAHA honestly Dune x Webs could be something,,
6: YES YES YES YES I AM SO GLAD IM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO SHIPS SEQUOIA X MONARCH !1!!1!1!!1!1!1!1!!1!1
7: Ooooo honestly Polyamorous mudwings is fire !!!!!!
8: Yessss Swordtail x Hailstorm is fire :D
9: Coral having a crush on Moorhen/dating Moorhen is something I could see lol :3
10: Polyamorous Thorn !!!!

Little Kestrel Stats Page
Hello everyone! Little Kestrel was an interactive story and your choices impacted a lot of it! Please enjoy some statistics about what your choices did in this story!
Routes:
There were 3 normal routes and 1 unlockable special route. These are mostly about Virgil's relationship with adults.
Route 1: King's Watchdog- Focuses on Virgil's relationship with Thomas. Earned 10 points.
Route 2: Future Gardener- Focuses on Virgil's relationship with Mr. Deknis. Earned 7 points.
Route 3: Culinary in Law- Focuses on Virgil's relationship with Ms. Heart. Earned 2 points.
Route 4: A Dead King's Son- The unlockable route (unlocked by picking the leaf hair accessory in chapter 18) Focuses on Virgil's relationship with Thomas again but with the slight twist that Thomas notices Virgil looks and acts a lot like his dead husband. Thomas takes on more of a parental role than in King's Watchdog. Earned 13 points and won!
Relationship Focus:
Logan Focus- Focuses more on the Virgil and Logan relationship and has more chances to unlock books. Earned 12 points
Patton Focus- Focuses more on the Virgil and Patton relationship and has a few more allusions to Virgil and Patton's eventual romantic relationship (one-sided at this point since Virgil is only 14 and Patton wouldn't even consider it.) Earned 7 points.
Virgil Focus- Focuses more on Virgil discovering himself. There is more about him learning to read (separate from Logan) and gardening. Earned 18 points and won!
Book Achievements:
You unlocked 2 books and finished 0 books.
Neverending Garden 2/4 Scenes
Into the Mist 1/4 Scenes
Endings:
There were a total of 27 possible endings. You chose the Empowerment/Magic/Flight Ending.
The choice between the healing, empowerment, and love endings were done in chapter 13 with Virgil's choice of engraving on his protection stone. He chose flames which corresponds to the empowerment ending. This decided who was involved in the end fight.
The choice between the drowned, growth, and flight endings was done in chapter 50 with the choice of where Patton took Virgil on a warm winter day. You chose the dovecote which corresponds to the flight ending. This decided where the end fight took place.
The choice between the knowledge, magic, and wisdom endings was done in chapter 55 with the choice of lesson for Virgil. You chose magic lessons which corresponds to the magic ending. This decided how the end fight ended.
Panic Modifiers:
Most of your decisions were more dedicated to Virgil's panic level. Different choices would make Virgil more or less comfortable in coming scenes This would impact how he acted. There were four panic levels and Virgil being in one panic level verses another would change the chapter of interest.
Calm: [1,4)
Worried: [4,7)
Anxious: [7,10)
Panicked: 10+
You can see the graph of Virgil's panic levels below:

C. Stars (again with purple accents though) Moderate angst. (+0 panic next chapter)
(What would have happened if the stars or feathers had been picked?
All scenes would lead to Logan and Patton leaving him alone in the room and Thomas finding him. He then would always end up under the bed.
For stars, that was Logan’s when he was younger which his dead dad gave to him. (He liked purple just like Virgil!) He would have told Virgil this and been slightly sad, but not nearly as much. Patton would have done Virgil’s hair as he is in general better at hair. (Logan did Virgil’s hair with the leaves because the piece meant a lot to him and he also had been taught to do his Pa’s hair like that when he was really little.) Logan would have left the room to find some of the things he knew matched it and Patton would have excitedly followed him to suggest a piece he was familiar with. Virgil would have still freaked out about wearing Thomas’s son’s hairpiece when he came in but not nearly as much as he was while wearing his dead husband’s. He would have still wanted it out, but wouldn’t have been quite as desperate and practically ripping his own hair out.
For feathers, it was something Thomas wore, but nothing of any significance. Logan would not have told Virgil who it belonged to. So there would have been no sadness for Logan in the start up. Patton would have done Virgil’s hair as he is good at hair. Patton would have left the room first to find some more things and Logan would have followed him to keep him from bringing too much. Virgil would have no reason to freak out about the hairpiece other than that it was expensive and would have left it in in the aftermath.)

B. Helen perspective. She gives the child hot chocolate. Not much more to say about that. His eyes probably dilatate like a cat. (CIL +1)
C. Mr. Deknis. Virgil helps him out with some garden planning stuff. There isn’t really much to do because storing is pretty much done. 2, 6, 12, and 15 :0!!!
2: what dish would you bring to a potluck with all your mutuals?
Answered here!
6: if money and social constructs were no object, what sort of clothes would you wear?
Oh man this stumped me. Idk what style is or how to label it u know. Ig just like. I mainly wear outdoorsy clothes? Very meh on clothes tbh. I would bring back cloaks tho
12: what animal do you know too many things about? Care to share some fun facts?
I am actively running a touch table with bird bones/feathers etc so ur gonna get some random bird trivia!
-If u take a pile of bird bones and a pile of bird feathers, the feathers would weigh more, sometimes by 2 or 3 times
-the biggest bald eagle nest we've found was 8 feet across, 18 feet deep, and weighed 2 tons
-kestrels only weigh 1/4 of a pound, so a stick of butter. Or 34 pennies
-Bald eagles can see a fish in the water from a mile up
-vultures are sometimes used to detect gas leaks- the chemical causing the gas scent is also part of that good carrion smell, so if you see a congregation of vultures around where a gas pipeline is and there's no food, the pipes should probably be checked
-bird eyes are spherical, theyre roundish at the front and flare out at the back & are held in place by a ring of bone. This gives them better eyesight at the expense of being able to look around without moving their head, hence the huge amount of rotation in their necks
-owl feathers have a fringed edge, letting them fly silently (but slowly). Other raptors have a smooth edge, letting them fly quickly (but loudly)
15: what was your first proper job? Do you have any interesting stories from it?
Oh boy it was a kennel tech at a uh. Shitty Vet in alabama. Very much a $ over pets kinda place. I only lasted like 2? 3? Months there. Most of my stories are more like horror stories than fun. I did get to walk a goat around on a leash for a while! That was fun

FebruarOC Day 11: Kestrel
(Just so y'all know what you're getting into with this one, it's mildly spicy (but not explicit) and there's a lot of talking about death. Hence why the mature label, and a lil sample before the read-more)
100%
When you’re twenty-seven, you find out what dying is like.
It’s not quick, fast and painless. It’s long and drawn out, slowly watching your timer tick down, gradually losing oxygen with no way to fight back.
It also tastes like bitter almonds.
99%
Of course, other people have prettier words for it. Magic, they call it. Nova, is what people like you are called.
You don’t care what it’s called. Dying is dying, no matter how it’s dressed up.
97%
The first time you meet him, he teaches you how to shoot a gun. He’s cold, emotionless, detached.
Somehow, that doesn’t discourage you from wanting to know what’s behind those distant walls of his.
94%
The first time you see him smile is when you pick out a new name. Kestrel, to match his Falcon.
“Are you sure you want to join the ranks of the birds of prey?” he asks. You’ve gotten better at reading him, can hear the challenge in his tone.
“I’m sure.”
He grins then, sharp and deadly like his namesake. “Welcome to the club.”
91%
You end up in his bed.
“Just this once,” he murmurs, before stealing your reply from your lips.
87%
He asks you, once, what it feels like, being a Nova.
“It’s like drowning,” you tell him. “Where every second you know you’re running out of air, but no matter how hard you fight, you know you can’t save yourself.”
86%
“And,” you add, “the air tastes like bad almonds for some fucking reason.”
He raises an eyebrow. “You know what that taste is?”
“Nova magic, apparently.”
“Fair. But also,” he wraps an arm around your waist and leans in to murmur the last word in your ear, “cyanide.”
“How the fuck do you know that?”
His only response is to grin, sharp and humorless, and when the light flickers it looks like his teeth are stained red.
83%
You end up in his bed again.
79%
And a third time.
77%
You stop keeping count.
74%
He never acknowledges how often he ends up in your bed, or vice versa.
68%
But you ask him why, once, in the dead of night when the darkness covers you and you both can pretend that nothing else exists.
“Because if I don’t say anything, then it doesn’t exist,” he answers. “And if it’s not real, then it won’t hurt.” He caresses your throat, nails dragging against your skin, then he leans in and steals your breath.
And he’s right, in a way. When all you can taste is coffee and whiskey, breathing in the scent of gunpowder, it’s easy to forget about drowning and cyanide.
61%
So you pretend you don’t hear the silent words, for his sake.
57%
That doesn’t stop you from being selfish, though. After all, if there’s any benefit to this timer on your life, it’s that you won’t be the one hurting when it finally runs out.
So you whisper those words in the dead of night, when his breathing is slow and he can’t hear you, because they can hurt him but they won’t hurt you, and you’re selfish enough to say them but not enough to make sure he hears them.
49%
You never expected him to die first.
42%
Maybe you should have known. Should have expected. Should have done better, been better, helped him, saved him—
37%
All you taste is bitter almonds
35%
cyanide
33%
and his blood on your lips.
24%
You wish it had been you instead, and it’s selfish and awful but at least he had been prepared for it happening, because you’re not and it hurts and you just
13%
can’t.
5%
You’ve spent the last few years resisting your timer, fighting for air so you could have another year, another month, another day, another hour, another minute, another second with him.
2%
You’re done fighting now.
0%
Your timer runs out.
.
.
.
%ERROR%
But you don’t die.
%ERROR%
You come out breathing on the other side, and the air tastes like petrichor.
%ERROR%
It’s is a gift you never expected to have.
%ERROR%
Without him, it feels like a curse.

Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge - DLC Aircraft Ideas
I know some people are gonna look at this and say "WTF man, Crimson Skies came out in 2003... it's not getting any new content!"
True. But there's always a possibility- however small- that the game could be re-released on modern consoles, or (God willing) get a full-blown remake. In which case, the devs could always add new planes.
The original PC game had 17 playable aircraft, most of which did not make it into the Xbox game. Only 2 planes, the Devastator and the Brigand, would ship with the game. 4 others would be added as DLC for online multiplayer only.
I picked out 7 aircraft from the original PC game that I would like to see added if Crimson Skies gets a remake, and outlined what class I think they should be, and what weapons they could have.
It'll probably never happen, but hey... I can dream. And remember, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge was one of the top 5 game on the OG Xbox Live, right alongside Halo 2 and Star Wars: Battlefront II. So I'd say it has a better chance of getting a remake than most.
Whittly & Douglas M210
Tumblr media
Raven
Class: Interceptor
Primary Weapon: Six Machine Guns
Secondary Weapon: RF-Guided "Beeperless" Seeker Rockets
Secondary Ammunition: 20 Rockets
A fast and agile fighter with six machine guns and highly accurate radio-guided Seeker Rockets that track targets aggressively. Seeker Rockets function like the Halo 2 Rocket Launcher; hold down the trigger to lock on to enemies, and release to fire.
The name of the Seeker Rocket is a reference to the "Beeper-Seeker" rocket from Crimson Skies lore. Whereas the Beeper-Seeker uses a two-stage system, firing a high-velocity "Beeper" rocket that emits a radio signal, followed up with a high-explosive "Seeker" rocket that homes in on that signal, these new rockets are able to track their targets without the need for a beeper unit; hence, "Beeperless".
Grumman E-1C
Tumblr media
Avenger
Class: Dogfighter
Primary Weapon: Eight Machine Guns
Secondary Weapon: "Detonator III" Incendiary Rockets
Secondary Ammunition: 15 Rockets
Armed with more machine guns than any other plane in the game, along with a secondary rocket that sets enemy planes on fire for damage over time. So you get the best of the Devastator and the Bandito all in one plane.
Curtiss-Wright P2
Tumblr media
Warhawk
Class: Zep-Killer
Primary Weapon: Four "Scorpion" Cannons
Secondary Weapon: Dual Triggers
Based on Paladin Blake's customized Warhawk from the tie-in novel, this modified Warhawk is outfitted with four standard cannons that fire in pairs, just like the Dauphin and the Bulldog. However, when the Left Trigger is held, all four cannons will fire simultaneously at an increased rate of fire for massive damage.
Hughes Aviation
Tumblr media
Bloodhawk
Class: Interceptor
Primary Weapon: Four Machine Guns
Secondary Weapon: XL-1 "Lancer" Laser Cannon
Secondary Ammunition: 100 Battery Charge
The standout feature of the Bloodhawk is it's secondary laser, which is extremely accurate and has unlimited ammo, but has to recharge it's battery after firing for long periods of time. Ammo starts and 100 and counts down to 0 as you fire. The longer you fire, the longer it takes to fully recharge.
McDonnell S2B
Tumblr media
Kestrel
Class: Zep-Killer
Primary Weapon: Five Cannons
Secondary Weapon: Aerial Torpedoes
Secondary Ammunition: 15 Torpedoes
Turret: Twin Cannons
As pure a Zep-Killer as can be, the Kestrel boasts five rapid-fire cannons, as well as two more cannons in a rear turret a la the Brigand. It's secondary weapon is a rocket-propelled Aerial Torpedo that deals tremendous damage to zeppelins, but has no magnetic lock-on, making it all but useless against enemy planes.
However... if you do somehow manage to score a hit on an enemy plane with the Aerial Torpedo (whether by skill, or dumb luck) it's a 1-hit kill no matter how high your opponents armor rating.
Bell Mk. II
Tumblr media
Valiant
Class: Zep-Killer
Primary Weapons: Six Cannons
Secondary Weapon: Grenade Launcher
Secondary Ammunition: 30 Grenades
An exceptional Zep-Killer with six cannons right out of the box, and a secondary grenade launcher. Grenades deal massive damage to zeppelins and ground targets, but are less useful against enemy planes than other Zep-Killer weapons.
Marquette PR-1
Tumblr media
Defender
Class: Interceptor
Primary Weapons: Six Machine Guns
Secondary Weapon: "Flyswatter" Flak Rockets
Secondary Ammunition: 20 Rockets
A capable fighter in the right hands, the Defender is armed with six machine guns and Flak Rockets. Flak Rockets have the damage of the Devastator's Magnetic Missiles with the projectile speed of the Bandito's Fireball Cannon, making them highly accurate and easy to use.

We will walk the upland trail through longleaf pine habitat. The trail eventually leads down to the lowlands and into a lovely oak hammock. There is a forty-foot change in elevation making for a variety of vegetation and birds. Expect to see many woodpeckers and some songbirds, including possible spring migrants. The walk is about 2 miles. The entrance to the Big Pine Tract is 1 mile north of where Old Crystal River Road intersects with U.S. 41, just north of Brooksville. Meet in the parking lot, which is on the east side of the road, at 8 a.m. Make reservations with Bev: [email protected] or 352-686-0460. Hernando Audubon butterfly walk at Aripeka-Sandhill Preserve, Saturday, April 20.  April is a prime time to view butterflies. Join Don Fraser as he helps us identify butterflies during the two-mile walk. We may see as many as eight species of hairstreak butterflies nectaring on sparkleberry as well as many other butterflies. Bring binoculars (close focusing, if you have them—or your regular binoculars will do). There will be good opportunities for close-up photography of butterflies. At 9 a.m. meet at the parking lot, which is a half mile west of US-19 at 18000 Aripeka Road in Hudson. There is no drinking water or bathroom there. We hope to see migrating birds as they fly north to their breeding grounds. If lucky, we may also see manatees and river otters, which are always a highlight of this trip. Participation is limited so you must reserve a spot, and arrange for a kayak rental, if needed, by contactingTom: [email protected] or 904-303-0919. Hernando Audubon Beginning Birding, Friday, April 26. Meet at 8 a.m. at Chinsegut Conservation Center, 23212 Lake Lindsey Road, Brooksville. Learn to identify birds at feeders and during a short walk. There will be binoculars available for use. Make reservations with Linda: [email protected] or text 352-428-2629. Hernando Audubon birding trip to Fort De Soto County Park, Monday, April 29. Meet at 8 a.m. in front of the bathrooms, at the boat ramp parking lot, which is on the right immediately after you cross the Bunces Pass Bridge on the park entrance road. The park is at 3500 Pinellas Bayway South in Tierra Verde. Fort De Soto Park is one of Florida’s most popular birding spots. Because of its location as the first landfall for many trans-Gulf migratory birds, many birds stop to feed and rest in the 1,136-acre park with a variety of habitats. Since this is the season of migration, we will have a chance of seeing many birds that are migrating to their northern breeding grounds, as well as numerous resident wading birds, gulls and terns, and shorebirds. Park fee: $5, payable at any machine in parking lots. Please note: You will need coins or SunPass for the toll booths on Pinellas Bayway and Pinellas Bayway South. Make reservations with Bev: [email protected] or 352-686-0460. Read the full article

When I was a kid (in the 90s), we had snow storms that dumped four feet of snow at least a couple times a winter. We could usually count on a ground cover of 2 feet+ of snow from December through the end of March. We used to use sleds to haul sap buckets when tapping trees in spring. During the winter, it rarely got above freezing, and generally stayed between about 10-25 degrees Fahrenheit for most of the winter, with frequent descents into the single digits, and a few days below 0 every winter. We used to skate every day on the swamp next to our house, unless there was so much snow we couldn't clear the ice.
This year, we never got more than six inches of snow, and it melted after a day or two. The ground was bare for most of the winter, and the temperature was frequently above freezing. I haven't skated in 2 years; the ice has never gotten thick enough for it.
I remember California sometimes getting wildfires, but you couldn't see/smell the smoke from where I live until a few years ago.
On the other hand:
When my parents were growing up, seeing any type of raptor was rare, and there were no bald eagles in our state, due to use of DDT. DDT was banned, breeding programs started to restore diminished raptor populations, and native raptors reintroduced in areas where they had disappeared. Now, bald eagles fly over our house not infrequently, and there are multiple nests within a 15 minute drive from me. There is also a nesting pair of peregrine falcons not too far from me, as well as a host of other raptors that I see or hear regularly-- marsh hawks, kestrels, great horned owls, screech owls, barred owls, cooper's hawks, red tailed hawks, and more.
Things can get better if we put in the work.
