In hindsight, I shouldn’t have been surprised when the lamp advertised as “the brightest bluest light we make” was so bright and blue that the entire lab was screaming in pain and begging me to cover it from 20 feet away and I (having stared directly at it for several minutes) saw everything as a green-orange blur for a while after finally covering it

Hey! I just saw your red root floater post and it looks fantastic! As a beginning aquarist can I ask how you get yours to grow like that? I can never get mine to grow and it usually decays away 😭😭😭

I've tried keeping it under a fluval plant light, a kessil a80, and a regular old aqueoun plant light, all of those dosing seachem flourish and excel weekly, and I just can't seem to keep it alive!!

tbh ive only started keeping them a few months ago, and i have no idea what im doing. i have a pretty bright light, but its kind of on the cheaper side. and i dont use any fancy chemicals (except for the best dechlorinator i could find).

i have a bunch of animals in this tank, so the plants probably get a lot of nutrients. and the water flow is pretty low, so they dont get moved around.

i also add leaf litter, but im not sure if it affects the plants or not

God I love how often you’re sent to do tasks that probably could be delegated to someone else despite the fact that you are, in theory, responsible for a region and its people and probably shouldn’t be off wandering through swamps fighting trolls and whatnot. I understand that the premise of the game requires that your character be down with this but it’s still really funny whenever I stop and think about it. Except in chapter five, in which case it’s frustrating and ridiculous that for some reason many, many lives can be lost because you... apparently can’t send military aid without being physically present with the backup you’re sending? Is the baron/ess even like... a competent military leader who’s actually directing the flow of battle? I can kind of understand how that went sideways when Lander was my Brevoy emissary and insisted on being in charge of that project, but like... Kessil? Come on...
