Penn’s Store in Kentucky is the oldest Country Store in America still owned and run continuously by the same family...going on 175 years! Located a few miles southeast of Gravel Switch, KY…this little country store opened in 1845, and has been in the Penn family since 1850…still operating as a store today. Set with your classic country store front porch and some old chairs out front, Penn’s Store remains today much as it has throughout its 175 years...even the old outhouse remains. Penn’s Store is usually only open for a few hours each day on the weekends, but driving by it and admiring it any time offers a glimpse into yesterday and the history of small town Kentucky.

This house was built in 1910 and stayed occupied until 1972. Sitting down in the woods off of Haley Ridge in Brooksville, Kentucky. Look from the street you’d never see this gem in the distance.
