1.favorite fic you wrote this year

If you get lost (you can always be found). I'd been planning to write a Farscape au for ages and I finally got around to it and I'm just so proud of how it turned out. It's also the longest fic I've ever written! 

2.Least favorite fic you wrote this year

I already answered this one here. 

3.favorite line/scene you wrote this year

Gosh, this is hard. I kind of want to post if you get lost (you can always be found) in its entirety because seriously, I frelling love this fic. But I've restrained myself and included 3 of my favorite parts. 

The first time Neil and Andrew are honest with each other.

“I’ve never had a home,” Andrew said, voice soft in the quiet air. “The new recruits would come for training, whining about the mothers, fathers, siblings they left behind and I despised them for their weakness.” He paused, fierce pride sharpening the lines of his face. Neil was tempted to reach out his hand to see if touching him would draw blood. He said nothing, seeing the weight of words unsaid in those golden eyes.

“When I go for supplies in my prowler and I return and see Abby hanging there in space, the light shining on her golden skin, sometimes I understand why the children wept.” Andrew glared, daring Neil to say something, to call him weak.

Neil fought it for a while but as Jean went back to ignoring Neil and paying attention to Jeremy and Andrew, Neil could not help but watch Andrew—the way he moved, sensuous and graceful; the way his lips, swollen and pink, wandered over Jean’s skin. This wasn’t Andrew, not really, but Neil felt lost, rudderless in a world with no discernible rules and Andrew had always been so steady.

“See something you like, big boy?” Andrew purred. He detached himself from Jean and crawled seductively across the table. He climbed into Neil’s lap and Neil cursed himself for the weakness but he closed his eyes and leaned in, let Andrew’s arms come around him, let himself find a moment of peace in the chaos.

The illusion was broken when Andrew started sucking bruises up and down Neil’s neck. It wasn’t that it didn’t feel good or he didn’t want Andrew to do it, but the real Andrew would never have done it without permission. It just wasn’t the same.

Neil after a (temporary but devastating) loss.

Neil was flooded with memories of Andrew: their first meeting, the first time Neil told the truth, their first kiss and everything good and beautiful that came after. It broke open a wound that had barely begun to heal. Neil was so tempted to tell the Diagnosan these memories didn’t matter, that he could cut them out and the pain of loss with them. But he didn’t deserve to leave this behind, not when everyone else he loved would still be grieving.

“That’s Andrew. Keep,” he said hoarsely.

5.most popular fic this year

It depends on how you measure it. By hits, it's What We Deserve, which just goes to show how wrong you can be about your own fic. By kudos it's The Shop Across the Street, which was a pinch hit I wrote in less than two hours. 

6. Least popular fic this year

By kudos, it's a tie between Death by Chocolate, an iZombie ficlet featuring Livwell and sexy brains, A Sticky Situation, a Farscape ficlet featuring John/Aeryn tied to a bed and more shenanigans with the English language, and A Love Meant for Shadows, a Musketeers vampire au featuring Constagnan and...well you know what vampires do. 

By hits, it's my newest pinch hit for the AFTG exchange, 5 Times Allison Couldn't Say What She Was Thinking.

ohhh i don’t really read poetry but i have a lot of respect for it? damn last time i remember reading a poem was high school but i always liked the analyzing and annotating process. interpreting and trying to find meaning is fun and there were definitely a few poems in high school that i read that Fucked Me Up. also just the fact that there are so many types of poetry and they could all be used to say the same things differently but still beautifully? goodshit!!!

This is wild but I work at a summer camp and we all have fun camp names and mine is Zest so every time I see your url I have a very brief visceral reaction of “ WHOMST THE FUCK” before I remember that Zest is just like, a word and ur a really cool person with a cool blog

12-jewelry headcanon for Shitty

My boy Shitty, helll yeah.

So, coming from a rich family, I think Shitty has always had like, a nice watch and cuff-links and a tie clip that were all expensive and used for formal occasions. Like that was just normal. That was then, though. 

Shitty totally gets two cartilage piercings on his ears. They’re like studs. He also finds that he really likes bracelets? Like he thinks they’re super nice looking, so Lardo gets him several for Christmas, but his favorite one is this one.

Also, when he and Lardo have been going steady for a while, he wants a promise ring.

I feel like in school, Matt would be that one kid who when you asked him the night before a big essay was due if he had it done, he would be like, lol no, i forgot we had to do that and then he would chug like, 6 Rockstars, write the whole thing in about 4 hours, and when he wakes up the next morning, he has no memory of actually doing it and turning it in but he managed to get a perfect score on it. Everyone hates him.

shiro would work on it all week, barely sleep, stress himself half to death, and finish around the same time as matt. they usually get about the same grades, but the one time matt did significantly better than him, shiro ignored him for a week.
