I got home a few hours ago and my skin has been buzzing ever since. I haven't been to Pride in years, I don't like crowds and I burn after a few minutes in the sun and I have sensory issues and I just generally don't have a good time. But this year I went. I went to see Chappell Roan. And I brought a friend and a parasol and I'm so so so glad I went. I stood in a crowd and felt like I belonged. We screamed ourselves hoarse singing along to the songs we all knew the words to.

I know there has been some grumbling, people saying that locals have been pushed out of Pride so that the cishets could see a cheap concert of an up and coming artist. I hope that isn't the case. I know Pride was sold out for the first time ever this year and I hope it meant as much to everyone else who bought a ticket as it did to me.

I'm not really sure I have a point to this, I just had so many feelings and I wanted to post... something.

Chappell Roan is blowing up. In front of an astounding 25,000 people on the shores of Louisville, Chappell headlined this year's Kentuckiana Pride. Running through a 13 song setlist, Chappell started hot with "Femininomenon," the opening track from her brilliant 2023 album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess.

The energy reverberating through the crowd was unbelievable. It felt like a true star moment, people as far as the eye could see, an assembled crowd on a nearby bridge on the water trying to peer into the madness. It's probably the smallest stage Chappell will ever play again. Go see her on the next stage she plays, she's fantastic.

it means so much to me to see video and povs of a packed kentuckiana pride. living in a southern/red state can feel so isolating for queer people, and seeing a packed pride with people from both sides of the river is healing and makes me feel a little less alone

Very sad today but I can't let that stop me from sharing something that happened this weekend

So my partner and I traveled quite a ways to see miss C/happell R/oan at Kentuckiana Pride. And it was AMAZING. We had a pretty good view of her, there was much screaming, singing, crying. She was ETHEREAL 😭

By the end of the night we were covered in sweat and exhausted from waiting in the sun all day. Got back to the Airbnb and the first thing we did was praise the inventor of air conditioning and get in the shower together.

Don't get me wrong, my mind was horny but my body was tapped out from a day like that. So we mostly just chatted about what we'd just seen, occasionally switching places to get under the water.

When they went to wash their face, they almost instantly got water up their nose. There was some mild coughing, and my light concern, and then they started sneezing of course 🫣

Now I don't know if this is something y'all do if your partners know about your fetish or not, but my default is to act SO NORMAL when these sorts of things happen, even when I'm bright red in the face.

But come on. This is seared into my brain now. Water droplets running down their shoulders, getting to see them sneeze uncovered with the two of us sequestered in a small, steamy space. Hearing my own voice breathe out the words "bless you" when they might as well be "fuck me".

AND TOWARDS THE END?

They turn back towards me, looking a little hesitant, and sneeze on my shoulder and chest. We were too far under the water for me to feel it, but it shocked the life right out of me regardless. Even though I've recently expressed this as an interest again, I never thought they'd just DO that.

I don't think I blessed them or anything. Pretty sure I just stood there with my mouth open.

They said, "there. For the record, now I've sneezed on you."

What?!

I've been horny enough to punch through a brick wall since then. Might die on sight the next time I see them.

If you are not from Kentucky or Indiana and you’re coming to Kentuckiana Pride this weekend, fuck you.

Yall bought all the online tickets for our pride festival to see the Chappell Roan concert to the point where they’re not doing a gate fee this year. Hundreds of queer kids in conservative states have to pay in cash at the gate to attend Pride safely and yall fucked that up.

I don’t care about any fucking circumstance you may have. You chose to travel from a different state to Kentucky because a ticket to pride was cheaper than a concert ticket.

If you are from any other state and you are coming to Kentuckiana Pride just for the concert, you are the problem and I hope you fall in a mud puddle by the river.
