EVERYTHING'S THE SAME
Everything's the same
But different
The body aches
Telling you life's still awake
Your breathing's laboured
Remember when you were born
It was yesterday
I could have sworn
The yells
The push
The blood
The shoes
My dad was wearing
As my mother was swearing
And though it has no bearing
My father was wearing
His Led Zep tee
As my mom did her Robert Plant
To get out
Peace and quiet was all I want.
Think back this cycle of life
Recurring with my wife
As I did my Simba
with Timon and Pumba.
Hakuna Mattata was the mantra
As we go round and round
Like clowns in a perpetual storm
of life
