2.6 thoughts!!!!
Spoilers for anyone who hasn't finished it yet!
It was a freaking blast, a rollercoaster of emotions, I honestly thought that Mr Reca, with how cuckoo he was in the trailer, was gonna be the antagonist, turns out he's a quirky memokeeper (who may still have his motives but for now he was definitely an ally) I guess, much like the galaxy rangers, there is no uniform, because I honestly thought they all would have some resemblance to Black Swan, but I can't wait to see more memokeepers, as well as more galaxy rangers
Speaking of galaxy rangers, ok!! Rappa and Boothill were the real protagonists here!!!! Poor trailblazer became a side character to these two champions and I love it!!! I've already made it clear that I adored Rappa from the moment her drip marketing dropped, I initially found her strange way of referring to everything as ninja stuff hilarious and quirky, I thought "are all galaxy rangers gonna talk funny?" But that was my first impression, now I wanna [forking] cry!!! I was already skeptical of this "Master Kucha" from the way he spoke! I didn't know that he was basically like the only parental figure she had, she's one of Dr Primitive's (Evil Ninja Osaru) test subjects in a hidden lab (Ninja capital) having to undergo harmful tests and torture (Ninja trials) this, coupled with the fact that her only source of free time and entertainment has been a ninja manga, she may have developed some sort of mental/ identity disorder, she's been living in a fabricated reality and no one can help her because they don't see the full picture, even her backstory has been distorted by her own retelling making her some sort of unreliable narrator in her own story. Dr Primitive is truly a despicable monster, torturing people and distorting an innocent girl's mind. There's a bright side to this tragedy though! That innocent girl is now our Rappa, and although her mind has been messed with, she still became a righteous galaxy ranger, kindhearted, unmatched skill, hellbent on hunting down the cruel doctor and she definitely lives up to that title too!!! So I'm rooting for her!!! And the moment we got to fight alongside her at the end after hearing "No Dazzle No Break" was gorgeous (can't wait to finish building her so she can continue to show them the way of the ninja!)
Once I finish reading her character story, I'll make a further analysis
Speaking of which, I'm actually gonna make 2!! One for both of our stars of the show, Rappa and Boothill, two people who had to revisit their past, and come to terms with their present and future, living up to the ways of The Hunt! I already deeply respect these two, the more I get of them, the more I can't help but respect them more!!! And I'm definitely excited to get more of them!! Galaxy rangers are the best!!
Boothill's up first because obviously I've already read his backstory so his POV was like an added 5 course meal!!! But I do wanna talk about his best moments (aside from the obvious highlight that blew me away) Firstly, we got more of Boothill the identity stealer (First Pom Pom now March 7th???) Actual Robinhill moments??? (I'm more of a GunsNRoses person now but it's still really cute) The way he was so relieved that he could "fake swear" again instead of the banana cussing was hilarious, Star Rail don't do this to my man, at least give him the "Ninja slang" treatment, let him swear 😭😭 And Boothill owned the dancefloor in the DJ Robin cutscene!!! We have a rapping ninja and a dancing cowboy, could this get any better!!! And obviously, there's the Lore!!!! Which was actually insane !!! I literally wanted to avoid spoilers in order to experience it blindly and it was worth it!!!! I wanted to [fudging] cry, it was so well done!! Andrew Russell and Kendell Byrd knocked it out of the park with their scenes!!! I freaking love Boothill and Rappa so much 😭😭😭 they're both life my dude!!!
This is just what I needed!!!

LIARS & LEECHES - #BIPOCtober Day 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Your fear. It’s so delicious!
Grief. Anxiety. Terror. Tonya Wright felt it all after the tragic murders of her sister and brother-in-law in a random act of gun violence. Struggling to travel outside of her home, she now lives constantly on edge about perceived threats that seem to surround her. Retreating to the house her sister and brother-in-law once shared to process her grief, Tonya soon discovers that someone — or something — has followed her there. With the help of her best friend Natalie, and others she meets along the way, can Tonya overcome her fears before they completely consume her? The first original audio drama from Hemlock Creek Productions, “Liars & Leeches” delves deep into the complicated horrors of grief, trauma, resilience, and steadfast human determination to uncover the truth.
Tumblr media
From @liarsandleechespod
I think the summary on the website does a decent job of describing what the main character Tonya goes through, but she is a black woman who loses her sister and brother in law unexpectedly in a mass shooting. As she struggles to overcome her grief, she discovers someone-or something- is following her.
She really goes through it over the course of the story, but through it all she is incredibly brave, insightful, and curious, and although she knows the importance of relying on her friends (both new and old) through the season, she is also incredibly tough, resilient and can stand up for herself.
Tumblr media
The actor playing her (Kendell Byrd) won best leading performance in an audio drama at the New Jersey Web Fest in 2023 for her role as Tonya.
-
Grief, trauma, horror, and a protagonist going through it, I know how much many of you love that sort of a story~
Follow Liars and Leeches here on Tumblr and check them out wherever you listen to podcasts! Linking their site in the replies.
Hope you've been enjoying #BIPOCtober so far, show some love to your faves in the tags! We'll be slowly reblogging some posts over the week, but will reblog most of them at the end to give these features more attention.
Cheers!

Hey, thanks for putting this together, we'd love to participate! We're Liars & Leeches, a supernatural horror and BIPOC created audio drama made by @the-sassy-composer and @hemcreekprod. Our lead character Tonya is also a black woman voiced by the amazing Kendell Byrd!
Planning to host a week called #BIPOCtober where we celebrate BIPOC audio dramas!
More info soon, but if you're a BIPOC led or BIPOC majority audio drama that we can spotlight for that week, feel free to drop your titles and @ in the replies or reblogs.
Inspiration taken from @podcastgirlsweek ! The tag will be used for posts, fanart, fanfic, etc, of your favourite BIPOC characters or audio dramas. We'll use it to hype BIPOC audio dramas that don't get as much attention and traction as their White counterparts.
Cheers!
P.S. will likely make a sideblog specifically for this! Will link it when ready.

Happy @podcastgirlsweek! Today's prompt is to highlight a podcast starring women in leading roles, so we wanted to highlight the main character of our supernatural horror audio drama "Liars & Leeches," Tonya Wright!
Tonya is a woman who is processing extreme grief after the tragic murders of her sister and brother-in-law in a random act of gun violence. Struggling to travel outside of her home, she now lives constantly on edge about perceived threats that seem to surround her. Retreating to the house her sister and brother-in-law once shared to process her grief, Tonya soon discovers that someone — or something — has followed her there. Her story is about grief, trauma, resilience, and steadfast human determination to uncover the truth.
And of course, we can't mention Tonya without also shouting out Kendell Byrd, the absolutely amazing voice actress for Tonya. She won an award for best leading performer in an audio drama for her work as Tonya, and will be returning for season two!
Tumblr media
Next week!
Tumblr media
We've got one week to go, and I'm so excited! Podcast Girls Week is a week long prompt-based event where fans are encouraged to create works celebrating their favorite podcast women. The event will take place on July 8-14.
Ready to post? We'll be using the #podcastgirlsweek tag here on tumblr, and you can already start adding works to the currently unrevealed 2024 Podcast Girls Week collection  on Ao3.
Monday: What about sad wet cat women? Highlight a podcast starring women in the leading role(s).
Tuesday: This too is yuri... Spotlight a F/F ship (or platonic or familial relationship between women if that’s your preference).
Wednesday: WIP Wednesday! We all have art/fic/meta we’ve been meaning to get to. This is your day to finally commit (as long as your WIP is about podcast women, of course.)
Thursday: Nobody understands her like I do… Recognize a woman from a podcast you think is niche and/or underappreciated.
Friday: God forbid women do anything. Celebrate a female villain. Defend your #problematic fave.
Saturday: Self-indulgence Saturday! Make something you’ve really wanted to make but haven’t because you thought it was too self-indulgent, niche, or silly.
Sunday: Free space!
Have questions? Check out the FAQ. Join the Discord while you wait!
Finally, you are always welcome to tag or @ this blog if you’re posting content about podcast ladies, and I will happily reblog it!

NFL draft grades 2017: Falcons’ picks could keep them atop of the NFC South
All four teams made great selections, but some picks were questionable.
The 2017 NFL Draft came to a close yesterday, and all four teams from the NFC South selected solid prospects who could one day morph into NFL superstars.
The Atlanta Falcons, last year’s Super Bowl runner-ups, already have a first-rate offense led by quarterback Matt Ryan and receiver Julio Jones. So, Atlanta didn't need to draft offensive players. However, its defense needed some major upgrades at linebacker and in the secondary.
The Carolina Panthers need help in the secondary. Last season, opposing offenses shredded Carolina’s defense with ease, as the Panthers finished with the 29th-ranked pass defense. While the Panthers’ front seven, led by linebacker Luke Kuechly, is still one of the best in the league, the secondary is holding this defense back from returning to its 2015 form.
After signing DeSean Jackson in the offseason, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL. Mike Evans and Jackson should be able to wreak havoc on opposing secondaries. Speaking of secondaries, the Buccaneers need playmakers in theirs. Tampa Bay surrendered 250.8 pass yards per game in 2016.
Lastly, as long as Drew Brees is lining up under center in the Big Easy, the New Orleans Saints will light up scoreboards. The only question concerning New Orleans is can it stop opposing offenses from lighting up the scoreboard. The team cut ties with safety Jairus Byrd over the offseason, which left a huge whole in the Saints’ secondary.
Did each team address their needs in the 2017 NFL Draft? Let’s take a look.
Atlanta Falcons
Overall, analysts thought the Falcons performed well in the draft. Atlanta used the No. 26 pick on UCLA defense end Takkarist McKinley, who is a lethal pass rusher with size and speed. The Falcons strengthened their linebacker corps on Day 2 by drafting LSU linebacker Duke Riley in the third round. On Day 3, Atlanta drafted guard Sean Harlow, a solid corner in Damonte Kazee, and tight end Eric Saubert.

Carolina Panthers
Carolina used the No. 8 pick in the first round on Stanford running back Christian McCaffrey, who is a versatile player with speed and reliable hands as a pass-catcher. Carolina followed up that big-time selection on Day 2 by drafting receiver Curtis Samuel and offensive tackle Taylor Moton in the second round. The Panthers also added pass-rusher Daeshon Hall in the third. On Day 3, Carolina drafted cornerback Corn Elder, fullback Alex Arma, and kicker Harrison Butker. Carolina failed to draft a top-notch corner to help boost the secondary.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Just when you though Tampa Bay’s offense couldn't get better, it certainly did. The Buccaneers used a first-round selection on O.J. Howard, who was considered the best tight end in the draft. Tampa Bay bolstered its secondary by selecting safety Justin Evans in the second round. Evans isn't a sure tackler, but he is great in coverage. Third-round pick Chris Godwin is an exciting receiver, but it didn't make sense because Tampa Bay had more pressing needs, especially at cornerback. The Buccaneers’ final picks were linebacker Kendell Beckwith, running back Jeremy McNichols, and defensive tackle Stevie Tu'ikolovatu.

New Orleans Saints
The Saints did a good job of addressing their needs early. They used the No. 11 pick on cornerback Marshon Lattimore, a shutdown corner who loves to get physical with receivers. Later in the first round, New Orleans beefed up its offensive line by drafting tackle Ryan Ramczyk at No. 32. Drafting Marcus Williams on Day 2 was a smart move by the Saints because he is a hard-hitting safety who can defend the pass. New Orleans also selected running back Alvin Kamara, linebacker Alex Anzalone, and defensive end Trey Hendrickson on Day 2. The Saints only had one Day 3 pick, and they used that on pass rusher Al-Quadin Muhammad.
