All of these are self explanatory, except James White, who I need to add has made great contributions to meaningful communication between Christians and Muslims.
I also should add that Ken Nwadike Jr. went out to the riots that occurred in 2016 and he and his hand picked team personally stopped violent encounters by talking down rioters.
Feel free to add

Into the Wilderness - History -GENERAL LEE IN THE WILDERNESS CAMPAIGN
Into the Wilderness - History
GENERAL LEE IN THE WILDERNESS CAMPAIGN BY CHARLES S. VERNABLE, LIEUTENANT-COLONEL, C. S. A., OF GENERAL LEE'S STAFF
DURING the winter of 1863-64 General Lee's headquarters were near Orange Court House. They were marked by the same bare simplicity and absence of military form and display which always characterized them.  Three or four tents of ordinary size, situated on the steep hillside, made the winter home of himself and his personal staff. It was without sentinels or guards. He used during the winter every exertion for filling up the thin ranks of his army and for obtaining the necessary supplies for his men.
There were times in which the situation seemed to be critical in regard to the commissariat. The supplies of meat were brought mainly from the states south of Virginia, and on some days the Army of Northern Virginia had not more than twenty-four hours' rations ahead. On one occasion the general received by mail an anonymous communication from a private soldier containing a very small slice of salt pork, carefully packed between two oak chips, and accompanied by a letter saying that this was the daily ration of meat, and that the writer having found it impossible to live on it had been, though he was a gentleman, reduced by the cravings of hunger to the necessity of stealing. The incident gave the commanding general great pain and anxiety, and led to some strong interviews and correspondence with the Commissary Department. During the winter General Lee neglected no interest of his soldiers. He consulted with their chaplains and attended their meetings, in which plans for the promotion of special religious services among the men were discussed and adopted.          While he was accessible at all times, and rarely had even one orderly before his tent, General Lee had certain wishes which his aides-d they must conform to. They did not allow any friend of soldiers condemned by court-martial (when once the decree of the court had been confirmed by him) to reach his tent for personal appeal, asking reprieve or remission of sentence.

Free Hugs, Anyone?
I don’t spend much time on Facebook these days … it mostly annoys me and I haven’t time to waste anyway.  But, I pop in a time or two a day, and one of the pages I typically check out is the Jon S. Randall Peace Page.  I was working on a post for this afternoon at the time, my usual political fare, but when I saw this, I just had to share.
FREE HUGS for anyone who may need it.

People & Programs Working To Make 2017 Better That You Can Help
Let’s avoid a repeat of 2016!!
People Working To End Police Brutality:
Officer Norman: This policeman is taking a stand against police misusing their powers by going door to door and asking people how they have been hurt or helped by police, showing them how to report bad cops, befriending local homeless to end stigmatization, and working with mental illness advocates so that there is better communication between police and caregivers.
Ken Nwadike:  A peace activist who started the Free Hugs Project to bring awareness to social justice issues of all types, but particularly BLM and All Lives Matter campaigns.
Those Trying To Eradicate Human Trafficking:
Dressember: What can an ordinary, broke college student do to end something as huge as human trafficking? Blythe Hill decided to collect donations for every day she wore a dress, and then donate the funds. Thus #dressember was born! (it can be any article of clothing - some people have worn ties, crazy socks, and kilts to name a few)
End It 2017: End it is working to make 2017 the year that begins the decline of human trafficking. They work in four groups-  awareness, prevention, rescue, and restoration. The restoration part is super important because many times those rescued have no way of earning funds and turn back to traffickers.
Promoting Literacy/Education:
Little Free Library Stewards are putting weatherproof boxes filled with free books in places without libraries. I’m a steward of one in my rural area and I love seeing people reading!
Everybody Wins:  From reading books to kids during school lunches, free tutoring,  storytime readings, one-on-one mentoring, performances based on books and book clubs for kids, Everybody Wins wants to make education available for those who might not get a chance.
Humanitarian Aid to Countries Fighting ISIS
Global Surgical Medical Group:  “ Most aid organizations simply offer material support, substandard medical advise, or transient expertise.  GSMSG is the only organization capable of routinely bringing the highest qualified medical personnel from the US directly to front-line areas in an effort to thwart humanitarian disasters right at the source. “ Staffed with former military medical professionals, EMTS, and more,  GSMG is boots on the ground providing medical care to anyone affected by ISIS.
Hand in Hand for Syria: Another great program that works directly with affected people. Located in Syria, they provide meals, housing, and more to refugees and displaced persons.
Help Homeless:
The Homeless Period (UK) and Distributing Dignity (USA): It’s terrible for anyone to be homeless, but for people with periods it’s particularly bad. Products like tampons, pads, and even a change of underwear or a bra can be too expensive to afford, and some have to make do with wadded up towels from public restrooms, or even nothing at all. These two organizations provide hygiene products (distributing dignity also gives out bras) for those in need, and you can help by collecting products, signing petitions, and more!
Located in L.A but hoping to spread all over the US, Shelter Partnerships distributed $11.4 million worth of new goods to 247 homeless shelters and projects in Los Angeles County in their first year, 2015-16. They hope to go bigger this year.
Some more important links:
The Suicide Hotline now includes an online chat feature, so don’t let a fear of talking on the phone keep you from getting help!!
Free Rice:  for every right answer, sponsors donate 10 grains of rice. practice language vocab ( I use it to study for Spanish!) or pick a category such as science or literature.
This link takes you to a masterpost of websites to calm down if you feel a panic attack coming on or if someone you know is freaking out.
The Fresh Air Fund sends inner city kids to host farms/ranches for the summer where they get to have a free camp experience like gathering eggs, stargazing, and  just enjoy the outdoors. Whether you’ve been wondering how to send your city kid to an expensive camp OR you live on a large farm and want to host, check it out!
Feel free to add more sites, these are just ones I have experience with!! Love y’all.

Affectionately known as the “free hugs guy”, Ken E. Nwadike Jr. is spreading love and affection like it’s his job—in fact, it totally is. Ken works as a documentary filmmaker, peace activist, motivational speaker, and founder of the Free Hugs Project, an initiative that promotes peace, inspires change, and draws awareness toward social issues through radical affection. The efforts of the Free Hugs Project have helped aid in the de-escalation of violence during numerous protests, riots, and political rallies.
We were lucky enough to have Ken share his talk, “The Power of Positive Human Interaction” at a variety of Wanderlust festivals. In his lecture, Ken encouraged a discussion surrounding understanding and compassion during a time of rampant hate and racism. His goal is to create unity through community, reminding us that we’re all humans who are simply craving some love. And based on the feedback from the talk’s participants, we can see he’s well on his way to making this dream a reality.
From Wanderlust Snowshoe in West Virginia
“Such a great surprise! I wasn’t sure what this would be about, but Ken’s story and his work are incredible. Loved seeing him around the festival afterwards too!” – Jennifer Smither
“Ken’s talk blew me away. He is such an impressive person and hearing his story was hopeful and inspiring. Loved this experience and thanks for giving me the opportunity to hear him. Plus I got a free hug!” – Jaclyn Wood
“Beautiful presentation. You are helping to create a better world through action, which I love. I can tell you love what you do and are embodying the change you want to see!!” – Jordan Smith
From Wanderlust Stratton in Vermont
“Ken is one of the most amazing people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.  His Free Hugs campaign is wonderful and he truly is an amazing come from behind story.  I had tears in my eyes while he was telling his story. Made me want to get out and make a difference in my community!  I will be following him on social media from this day forward.” – Leslie Zedlovich
“Excellent talk! Inspiring and motivating speaker! So positive and uplifting.” – Jennifer Rossi
“Inspiring. This guy is a superhero.” – Corinne Potvin-Oriol
“Ken’s talk was inspiring and incredibly hopeful, especially in today’s social and political climate. Hearing his story made me realize how important little acts of kindness and love are for humanity.”  – Megan Fuqua
From Wanderlust Squaw Valley in California
“Awesome human being. We need more like him in the world!” – Fancy Thompson
“Absolutely the best thing I experienced at any Wanderlust.  I cried and was so inspired. I appreciate Ken’s willingness to share in response to incredibly personal questions from the audience. He was the most articulate, natural speaker I have ever heard. I also appreciate him saying and answering questions. I spoke with him one on one later and was the recipient of TWO hugs.”  – Laura Kemp
“Amazing! Ken’s work is absolutely astounding! We need more hugs. ” -Brenna Iversen
Have you seen Ken speak? What was your takeaway?
