Wedding bells—
Quinn Hughes x reader
Request: 🌼 Quinn - he’s drunk and you have you take care of him, I feel like he’d be a cute cuddly drunk
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Captain Huggy Celly
Brady's wedding was beautiful, in every sense of the word. Every detail felt so intimate and romantic, from the ceremony and reception, even down to the colour of the tablecloth. The moment the Hughes family stepped foot on the venue, Y/n knew it would be an amazing day, and she was right.
That same sense of love seeped into the night as the sunset and the drinking started. Quinn was the centre of Y/n's attention all day, looking as handsome as ever in his groomsman suit, with a fresh haircut for the big day, and a wide-lopsided grin.
He watched as his best friend, his brother more or less, became a husband. The realization that they were adults was heavy as Brady kissed his bride. Nostalgia filled his senses as he looked down at the crowd to look at Y/n watching him, tears in her eyes at the love in the air as he smirked at her.
As the night rolled in so did the party, everyone found themselves inside the reception hall, live music playing as the drinks poured and the dancing started.
A wide smile found its way onto Quinn's face as Ellen pulled him out to the dance floor. Luke looked at her with a grin and extended his hand, "my mom stole your man," he joked as she took his hand and let him lead her to the dance floor. "He is her son," the girl shrugged as Luke and she kept a friendly distance as they danced around the floor, giggling at Jack who was stuck dancing with the flower girl, a face full of what seemed embarrassment and adoration as the little girl made him twirl around.
She loved this family, she thought to herself as Luke spun her around and Jim took pictures from the sidelines.
"Your wedding will be nicer than this," Luke mused as she looked at him with an amused look. "It'll be pretty hard to beat this," she shrugged. Luke shook his head, "I don't think so, no one loves like you and Quinn love each other," the boy said sweetly making the woman's face soften.
Y/n smiled softly at the thought of her wedding day. She would be happy just eloping if that's what Quinn wanted, but the fuss would be nice, the intimacy, the romanticism of it all was something she had dreamed of since she was a little girl. Marriage wasn't a foreign subject to her mind, Quinn and her had discussed the subject frequently, both agreeing on a small wedding on some vineyard in Kelowna, wanting the homey feeling of summer to surround them on their special day, very Quinn and Y/n-esque.
Her brows furrowed as she pulled away from her thoughts, searching the crowd for Quinn. Ellen was now sat at a table with Jim and the Tkachuk parents, and Quinn was nowhere to be found.
"Do you see Q?" the girl mumbled to Luke who was quietly laughing at the scene unfolding in front of his eyes. Brady, Josh, and Quinn were going shot for shot at the bar as the band started to play some more upbeat songs. "Oh god," Y/n laughed as she and Luke approached the bar. "Have fun with that," he patted his sister-in-law on the back and left in search of his other brother.
Quinn grinned shyly at his girlfriend as she approached the bar, "Looks like you three are reliving the university days," her brows raised as Josh laughed. "Learn to live a little Y/n/n," Brady joked as he set off to look for his wife. The woman's jaw dropped as Josh mumbled his agreeance with Brady, "your friends love to hate me Q." "Fuck 'em Dove, they suck," he said with a sickeningly sweet smile as his arm found its way around her torso, hugging her closely to his side as she looked at Josh and stuck her tongue out at him.
The girl turned to look up at her boyfriend, a hazy drunk look taking over his face as he dipped down and kissed her on the cheek, something he'd practically been dying to do all day, missing her touch, her warmth.
His hands squeezed her hips as she grinned at the attention, "you look a little drunk my love," he grinned and nodded. "Drunk on your love," he whispered smoothly into her ear before kissing her on the neck, her face heated up as she melted into his hold, "Sorry, that was cheesy," he admitted. "I liked it," she grinned and took one of the hands on her hip and kissed his knuckle, the two of them swayed to the music as they watched the newlyweds family come together to dance.
"I want our wedding to be like this," she mumbled as he grinned into her shoulder. "With fewer people?" he asked, smiling as she nodded, "we should get married soon," he suggested followed by a hiccup, her eyes widening at his nonchalant idea. "You need to propose first my love," she said cooly, her fingers intertwining with his. Quinn chuckled and placed another kiss on the sweet spot on her neck, "I'm working on it Dove, promise," The smell of whiskey hit her senses as she spun around and captured his lips with hers.
Perfect, her life was perfect in every sense of the word.

[ad_1] Jaclyn and Brennen McConnell had planned their elopement in the Alberta Rockies a year ago, but they hadn't prepared to spend their wedding night sleeping on the floor in a building on the top of a mountain. The couple from Kelowna, B.C., got married Monday before taking the Banff Gondola up to the summit of Sulphur Mountain to have wedding pictures taken by photographer Pala Kovacs."We only planned to be up there for an hour. Pala took the most unreal photos," Jaclyn McConnell said Wednesday in an interview."We were getting ready to go and the power went out. So, we took some more photos and then nothing was happening and we stayed there for 13 hours."A couple from Kelowna, B.C., had just finished having their wedding photos taken at the top of Sulphur Mountain on Monday when the gondola broke down. Jaclyn, top and Brennen McConnell, middle, from Kelowna, B.C. had eloped in the Banff townsite earlier that day, and were planning to head back down on the gondola. (Pala Kovacs/The Canadian Press)The popular tourist attraction in Banff National Park had stopped working due to a power outage caused by a lightning storm. Both McConnell and Kovacs said there didn't seem to be much of a plan in place."We waited around and we were told over different intervals what they were doing, but it was super obvious that they didn't have any kind of contingency plan," Kovacs said. "However, the staff working up there was really great."WATCH | Visitor describes what happened with Banff gondola: Hundreds helped off mountain after Banff gondola outageHundreds of people were stranded overnight Monday after a power outage shut down the Banff gondola. At the time power was cut, there were between 400 and 500 people on top of Sulphur Mountain, says Mark Hendrikse, a spokesperson with Pursuit, the company that runs the operation in the mountain town. Everyone had been helped off the mountain by late Tuesday morning.A spokeswoman for Pursuit, which runs the gondola, said they do have stringent procedures in place for such incidents."But we will always look for ways to enhance our guest communications response," Tanya Otis said in an email. She said the gondola has an auxiliary generator that allowed the company to bring guests who were in the gondola cabins down safely when the outage occurred."In accordance with the Canadian Standards Association's rules for passenger ropeways, backup emergency drive systems are used exclusively for deboarding guests in gondola cabins in the case of a stoppage," she said. "It is not for unloading guests off the mountain."The company has said that several hundred guests had to be helped down from the summit after the gondola was shut down. Parks Canada said its visitor safety team was involved and all guests were brought down Tuesday. Some of the guests hiked the 5 1/2-kilometre trail that switchbacks down the mountain at night, while others waited until Tuesday morning to go down.McConnell said people were told they could walk down at about 2 a.m. but that it would be at their own risk."It had been storming, there was lightning all over the place, plus it's dark," she said. "It's pitch black and you've got bears everywhere. A lot of us were not comfortable walking down."They also didn't have proper footwear, she said, so they ended up spending the night in the building at the top."We slept on the floor," said McConnell. "My husband slept in his suit on the floor. I slept in my wedding dress on the floor."It was almost like sleeping in an airport."Hundreds of people were stranded after a power outage shut down the Banff gondola and some had to be airlifted by helicopter, in Banff, Alta., from the interpretive centre on the mountaintop on Aug. 8, 2023. (Jeff McIntosh/The Canadian Press)Kovacs said there were about 100 guests, including children and seniors, who opted to get a helicopter ride down."I couldn't hike down if I wanted to," she said. "I had a suitcase full of photography gear and all my lighting and stuff, so we waited until the morning and we got helicoptered down."They were pretty efficient about it, we just had to wait until daylight."Kovacs said it wasn't as stressful as she expected, but it was tough on the children and seniors who got stuck."Because it's a gondola, it's the easiest way and an accessible way for people to experience (the) alpine," she said. "So, I felt really bad for them because there weren't comfy spaces. They were cold and they were hungry."She said staff opened a restaurant at about 3 a.m. Tuesday and prepared some food once it was clear the remaining guests would be spending the night at the top.Kovacs said there was a child who needed medication and the first aid kit wasn't fully stocked, but one of McConnell's friends is a pediatric doctor and was able to help that family."There were definitely some people who were more stressed and taking it out on the staff," she said. "But for the most part, people were pretty understanding that it was out of their hands." [ad_2] Source link

Kelowna Wedding at Cedar Creek Estate
Outdoor Summer Sikh Wedding
Akshita & Chad
Kelowna Wedding at Cedar Creek Estate
This Kelowna wedding at Cedar Creek Estate Winery was such a beautifully planned intimate celebration. We first met Akshita and Chad and their pup Zara in Canmore for their amazing sunrise hiking engagement session. You can see more about this adventure on our blog here.
While hiking with Akshita she told us all about her childhood dreams of having an outdoor Sikh wedding, filled with flowers and surrounded by her loved ones. With the unpredictable nature of the year, she was unsure what their wedding would look like later that year. They were both exploring the idea of eloping in the mountains and possibly planning a helicopter ceremony in the Banff area.
As the pandemic restrictions began to ease throughout the summer Akshita’s dreams of having her outdoor ceremony started to become possible again. They both found a perfect venue in Chad’s hometown of Kelowna perched high above Okanogan Lake and surrounded by vineyards. Cedar Creek Estate had all the features to make their dream wedding possible and we were thrilled when they asked us to be a part of it all.
Royally Dressed Bride and Groom Surrounded by an Incredible Landscape
Akshita planned her day with a modern and relaxed take on her Indian heritage. She wore a stunning gold dress with red accents matching Chad’s accessories. It was so dramatic against the yellow grasses and rocky landscapes. We spent the morning exploring some beautiful spots around the lake for their portraits. Taking time to explore the windswept golden fields and rugged lookouts of this unique area.
This day was all about the details. The carefully selected jewellery and intricate textures in their fabrics, the flowers scattered throughout the setting and the ever-changing weather. All of these elements came together to make for such a beautiful day and this made it so much fun to photograph.
An Outdoor Sikh Ceremony Filled with Flowers and Sun Showers
We are fairly inexperienced with Indian weddings and we were so grateful to have the opportunity to photograph this amazing ceremony. Akshita sent us through some information on what to expect for a Sikh ceremony so we knew what important moments not to miss. To be honest, every second was so beautiful that we didn’t put our cameras down at all!
Rain clouds blew through the sky creating the most beautiful changes in light as Akshita and Chad made their way through each ritual. One of the main events of the ceremony is the Palla Rasam where the father of the bride places the rose scarf of the groom onto the bride, symbolising that he is giving his daughter away. The Guru Granth Sahib (Holy Scripture) a key focus of the ceremony. The bride and groom circle it four times at set intervals, bowing at the beginning and end of each stanza. Each stanza is accompanied by a hymn which embodies a promise or declaration of marriage. When completed the bride and groom are devoted to one another as two bodies, one light.
After the ceremony, everyone celebrated with food and drinks while exploring the stunning setting of Cedar Creek Winery. We wondered through the vineyards picking grapes and enjoying a beautiful sunset. We hope you enjoy looking through this amazing wedding and we are so thankful to be able to have told Akshita and Chad’s story.

Send My Love (To Your New Lover) Part Nineteen
Summary: Jake and Y/N book a venue.
Warnings: Fluff, tiny bit of awkward angst.
A/N: Here is part 19. We are moving along! Things are coming together and this ending. Oh boy! Enjoy, guys!
Tumblr media
After you chose your dress, everything else seemed to fall in place. You and Jake visited the ski lodge a few weeks later but weren’t able to book any of their spots for your big day. The resort manager did give you a list of different ones in the area, that he thought would be good for what you wanted. You took your time visiting them, seeing as a lot of them were hours apart from each other. Today, you both were headed to Kelowna to visit the Big White Ski Resort. You were nervous. It was one of the last locations and you were worried that it wouldn’t be what you had dreamed of.
Jake pulled the rental truck into a parking spot just outside of the resort. You look over at him and can tell he’s nervous too. You both want this so bad, but if it doesn’t you don’t know what to do. It’ll set your planning schedule back and both of you don’t have too much time to spare. He was getting ready to go and film a new movie and would be gone for a few months.
“You ready?” He asks. You just nod. Both of you climbing out of the vehicle and walking up the path. You walked into the main building and were greeted by the desk clerk. You told them you were meeting with Marsha and they called her down. You both looked through the big windows, examining the view.
“The view is nice. The mountains will look beautiful covered in snow.” You tell Jake.
“Yeah, they will. Except I’m not sure there will be an indoor venue for the ceremony. I was looking online and only found pictures of an archway overlooking the mountains.”
“Well, if we decide this is the place, then we will just have to make sure to include a note on the invitations about wearing warm coats. I don’t mind being out in the snow. Just so I can marry you. That’s all I want.” You look over at him and take his hand, leaning into him.
He smiles and kisses your forehead, giving your hand a squeeze. “That’s all I can ask for. As long as you’re happy. If you told me that you wanted to elope, I would do it today.”
“You’re such a cheeseball, Bubby.”
“You love cheese.” He tells you, making you laugh.
You hear footsteps behind you, so you both turn to see who is coming. You’re guessing that it’s Marsha. She’s got a big smile on her face and you can see the greeting forming on her lips as she draws closer.
“You must be Y/N and Jake. I’m Marsha. If you could follow me, I would like to show you the area that we have reserved for weddings.”
+++
She guides you and Jake through the venue. Jake was right about there only being an outdoor area for the ceremony. The reception would be help indoors though, which is fine with both of you. You view of the mountains behind the ceremony spot, was beautiful and you couldn’t wait to see if covered in the December snow. She guided you back through and into her office. You and Jake sat in the chairs in front of her desk, as she sat behind it. She pulled out a calendar.
“Now, what did you think?”
You and Jake both looked at each other, staring for a moment before nodding together. You look back at Marsha and smile. “It’s perfect. That view is amazing.”
She smiles back. “Perfect.” She opens the calendar and begins to flip through it. “Now, when were you wanting to get married?”
“We were hoping some time in December. Preferably before any time before Christmas.”
“Okay.” She flips to December and looks over the events going on. “We have the second weekend open. We would be able to offer you full access to the ceremony and reception areas starting that Thursday through Monday. That should give you enough time to decorate how you would like and your family could help us get everything cleaned up after.”
You look at Jake again. “What do you think?” You ask.
He smiles. “Let’s do it. Let’s book it.”
You both look at Marsha and nod with big grins. “We’ll do it.”
“Wonderful! December 13th, you will officially be husband and wife! We can discuss price and I can answer any questions that you have and then we can sign some papers. Let me go get everything!” She stands and moves through her office, leaving you and Jake to yourselves for a few moments.
You look at him and you both reach out to grip the other’s hand. “This is it. We’re doing this.” You tell him excitedly.
“Hell, yeah we are.” You both lean in for a gentle kiss. “I can’t wait for you to be my wife.” He tells you as you pull apart, reaching up with his other hand to stroke your cheek.
“I’m so ready for this.” You put your forehead against his and close your eyes. “I love you.”
“I love you too, Smalls.”
+++
One Month Later
Jared is sitting in his trailer with Jensen, when someone knocks on his door. They were done filming for the day, so he figured it was Misha. He opens the door and is surprised when he sees you standing outside the door.
“Hey! What are you doing here?” He rushes out the door to hug you.
“I just finished finalizing some paperwork at the venue,” Jensen’s ears perk up at the sound of your voice, “figured I’d take a three-hour drive to see my best friend. I made sure you were done filming for the day or at least ready for break before stopping by. I figured we could get some food.”
He sees Jared look behind him, “Uh, yeah. I’m done for the day, nothing else until midnight.”
“Well, let’s go. I’m starving!” You rush him, having no idea that Jensen is in the trailer behind Jared. “Oh, but here! Let me give you this! I already sent one to Gen but figured you could have one here as a reminder. Since you’re getting old, I figured you could put it on the fridge where you would see it every day.”
“Oh, you’re so funny. Just for that, you’re buying lunch and I’m an expensive date!” Jensen hears you both laugh. He forgot how much he missed your laugh, it makes his chest tighten. You sound so happy. So, free. “Let me just put this in the trailer and we can go.” Jensen hears the hesitation in Jared’s voice. “Uh, you can come in, but Jensen is in there.”
No response. Just a big empty space, full of sudden tension. Jensen can feel his heart race. He hopes you’ll come in. He wants to see you. He hasn’t seen you since he showed up at your apartment, pouring his heart out.
“Uh,” He hears the fight in your voice. “Sure, I’ll come in and say hi.”
He hears you and Jared move up the steps and he looks towards the doorway, he spots Jared’s tall frame moving through it and then you’re smaller one following behind him. He stops breathing, anxious to see your face. He can feel the slight hum of his nerves within his body. Jared steps to the small kitchen to put whatever you had given him, on the counter.
Jensen can’t focus on him, all he can see is your face. Your long hair, longer than he’s ever seen it. Your beautiful face, happier. Your eyes, brighter. You look exactly the same and yet, completely different.
“Hi, Jense.” You bring your left hand up to tuck some hair behind your ear. Your big engagement ring, shining under the lights of the trailer. You’re nervous.
“Uh, hey, Y/N/N. How are you?”
You give him a small smile. “I’m doing really good. You?”
He nods. “Yeah, I’m good.”
Your smile grows a little more. “That’s good. I’m glad.”
Another nod. “I didn’t know you were in town.”
“Oh uh, yeah. I was actually in Kelowna but figured I would come see Jared.”
“Right.”
You turn to Jared, “Well, we better get going. I feel like I could eat a moose.” You let out an awkward laugh.
Jared clears his throat. “Right. Yeah, let’s go.”
You look back at Jensen. “It was good to see you.”
“You too. You look good.” He internally smacks his head. You smile, falters.
“Yeah, you too. Uh, see ya.”
“See ya.” And with that, you and Jared are gone. Leaving him alone in Jared’s trailer. Jensen stands from his spot on the couch and moves through the trailer. He’s almost to the door when he spots the thing that Jared placed on the counter. He doesn’t want to be nosy, but he has to know what it is.
Picking it up and turning it over, he feels his heart drop into his stomach. It’s your wedding invitation. That’s why you were here. You and Jake were getting married in Kelowna. He takes his phoned out of his pocket and opens the camera. Snapping a picture of the invitation, before placing it back on the counter and walking out of the trailer.

Seriously Romantic Cabin Elopement
From the clear, glassy lake to the tall pine trees, this romantic cabin elopement is not only stunning, but also sustainable. Sydney and Mark, and a few other couples, worked with pop-up elopement team Elope BC to split the cost and waste of a traditional wedding. However, the split didn’t take away their ability to personalize their day. To add that personal, sentimental touch to their sustainable elopement, Sydney and Mark included their children. On top of that, their 5 guests warmed the rings with their blessings and warm wishes.
To further cut down on waste, the design of this elopement only used local and sustainable ingredients, including a foam-free floral design. If you’re looking for eco-friendly inspiration, keep scrolling to see this romantic cabin elopement captured by Junebug member Joelsview Photography.

The Wedding:

Eloping With Little Ones In Tow
We included our children that day. Our son was 18-months-old at the time and we were five months pregnant with our daughter. Pregnancy and toddlers created some unique challenges, but it was worth it to have the entire family included. We cherish those memories and photos.

September 8, 2023 As the warm sun began its descent behind the majestic mountains of British Columbia, casting a golden glow over the rugged landscape, I couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement. This was no ordinary photography assignment - it was a helicopter elopement to a mountain called Little White, nestled within the heart of the stunning Big White region.
Elopements have always held a special place in my heart. There's something incredibly intimate and raw about these quiet celebrations of love, where couples embrace the freedom to exchange vows in unconventional settings. It is a privilege for me as a photographer to document these profoundly personal moments, encapsulating the emotions and memories that will last a lifetime.
The notion of eloping has evolved over time, shedding its earlier connotations of secrecy and rebellion. Today, it symbolizes a deliberate choice to break away from tradition and immerse oneself in the beauty of nature, proclaiming love without societal expectations. And what better backdrop than the breathtaking landscapes of British Columbia to amplify this sense of freedom?
As we soared above the picturesque landscape in the helicopter, it felt like the world had faded away, leaving only the couple, their love, and the wild beauty that surrounded us. The energy in the air was palpable, a blend of anticipation, joy, and a touch of nervousness. It was an honor to witness these emotions intertwine, creating a unique tapestry of love.
Little White Mountain, with its undulating peaks and valleys, served as the perfect canvas for this romantic journey. The soft hues of pink and orange, painted by the setting sun, brushed against the granite cliffs, breathing a sense of magic into the scene. It was as if nature itself had conspired to add an ethereal touch to this heartfelt exchange of vows.
As a photographer, I am not merely an observer; instead, I become a storyteller, capturing fleeting moments that unfold before me. Guided by my instinct, I frame each shot carefully, weaving together elements of composition, light, and emotion to create visual narratives that transcend time.
During my journey as a photographer, I have learned that my own growth is intertwined with every couple I have the privilege to photograph. Each unique love story leaves an indelible mark on my creative spirit, shaping and sculpting me as an artist. The trust and vulnerability shared during an elopement push me to explore deeper within myself, harnessing not just technical skills but also emotional sensitivity.
It is within these intimate celebrations that I have found solace and inspiration, reminding myself why I chose this path in the first place. The lure of adventure, the thrill of capturing moments suspended in time, and the shared human experience have all shaped my evolution as a photographer. The photographs are not just images; they represent a piece of my journey, a testament to my growth and passion.
As the helicopter descended back to solid ground, and the couple's laughter-filled the air, I couldn't help but marvel at the transformative power of love and nature. The elopement to Little White Mountain had spawned a kaleidoscope of emotions within me - a mixture of joy, gratitude, and awe. And in that moment, I knew that my own journey had taken another step forward, reaffirming my connection with this craft I adore.
So here's to elopements, to British Columbia, and to the incredible privilege of being a storyteller. Each experience, like this helicopter elopement to Little White Mountain, continues to redefine my sense of purpose and reminds me of the remarkable beauty that lies within every love story. Helicopter Service: Valhalla Helcipters I recently had the pleasure of experiencing an incredible adventure with a certain helicopter service that ensured an extraordinary journey. During the flight, I realized that the pilots were not only highly skilled but also remarkably knowledgeable about the surrounding areas. Canmore Sunrise Hike
Akshita & Chad
Canmore Engagement Photographers
As Canmore engagement photographers we love finding amazing mountain top locations for hiking adventure shoots. This one was nothing short of incredible! All the right elements came together to make for such a beautiful morning. A fun adventurous couple, an amazing clear morning and some wild scenery!
Akshita and Chad first got in contact with us when they were planning a road trip out to Banff National Park. They wanted to make the most of the incredible scenery and get some engagement photos done while they were out this way. They decided on a sunrise hike and we began the search for the perfect mountain! They wanted to find a dramatic lookout that would compliment the golden outfit she had brought. With a larger snowpack this year, the challenge was to find something clear of snow so their photos were rugged and rocky. Together we found the perfect trail and started making plans!
Sunrise Hiking Adventure
Our alarms went off at 1:30 am. We made some coffee, gathered our camera gear, headlamps and took off for the trailhead. Akshita, Chad and their pup Zara met us at the parking lot, we tied up our boots, gathered our things and headed off on our adventure! The sky was clear and the stars were incredible. We even watched the sliver of the moon rise over the mountains while we took a break and Akshita did her makeup.
As we watched the glow begin to appear on the horizon we made the final push to our destination. Akshita pulled out her stunning golden dress and  matching jewellery from her backpack and threw it on just as the peaks were beginning to light up. We couldn’t believe how perfect the scene was and excitedly ran around the dramatic cliffs, playing in the perfect light. We had so much fun with these two and can’t wait to celebrate with them again at their wedding in Kelowna later this year.
