The Buydown program is available for Conventional (primary and 2nd home), FHA and VA primary home purchases. What exactly is a 2-1 Temporary Buydown? It is a loan option for the buyer(s) to lower their interest rate for the first two years that is paid for by the seller. 2% in the first year, 1% in the second year and by the third year, they will be at a regular rate.
