Maryse Elizabeth Patricia Kerrigan (Kim) was a British model during the 1960s. She married Keith Moon in the mid sixties and left him with their daughter in the mid seventies, when she could take no more of his erratic behaviour.. She found support from Small Face lan McLagan and became Kim McLagan in 1978 following Keith's death. She tragically died in a traffic accident at the age of 57🌷🌷🌷

We then proceeded to the Kings Head to put the world to rights... as we did most Sundays. But there were occasions when we would put in an appearance midweek. It was on one such occasion that, what can only be described as a Keith Moon moment occurred... but then it was inevitably going to happen one day!

Poor old Steve was demonstrating a windmill on air guitar from his tall bar stool, imitating The Who's Pete Townsend. However, after a few too many, he lost it completely and fell off, plunging into a whole table full of be-suited office workers on a lunch break... landing straight in their dinners. Steve was suddenly covered in meat pie and chips.

What a wonderful moment!

From this I expected a total ban, but it didn't happen, much to my surprise. Steve and I spent so much money in there... we were only banned from windmilling- and only at dinner times!

The office boys and girls were reimbursed and returned to work, happily covered in their dinners, with a story to tell about having met a bit of Rock and Roll celeb, which I'm sure they'll dine out on for years to come... after all it's not every day a million dollars' worth of guitarist lands in your Shepherd's Pie!

The next time we arrived at the pub we were told, "No windmilling, lads." Steve agreed and another peaceful happy day was had by all.

April 25th 1710 saw the birth of James Ferguson at Rothiemay near Keith in Banffshire.

James Ferguson is almost forgotten about nowadays, yes he gets a mention from me a couple of times a year and a limited audince on my Facebook group and Tumblr page, but in the 18th century he was a phenomenon, a self-educated astronomer and philosopher whose books sold widely and whose lectures on various subjects were the equivalent of the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures today.

His father was a farm labourer, but Ferguson rose from abject poverty to become the greatest populariser of science of his day, and much of his success derived from the fact that he was able to explain complex matters such as Newton’s laws in language that was clear and easily understood, perhaps a legacy of his own self-taught, which is much more than me, I’ve said before much of Mathematics is way over my head, don’t even start me on algebra or logarithms! 

Sometimes referred to as the “wheelwright of the heavens”, showing remarkable intelligence and keen interest in all things mechanical, his only formal education was at the age of seven for three months to the grammar school at Keith. 

In 1734 he went to Edinburgh, where he began to make portraits in miniature, by which means, while engaged in his scientific studies, he supported himself and his family for many years. Subsequently, he settled at Inverness, where he drew up his Astronomical Rotula for showing the motions of the planets, and places of the sun and moon. 

He went to London in 1743, making mechanical devices and publishing the odd paper in the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society , of which he became a Fellow in November 1763. Throughout his life, he devised astronomical and mechanical models.  His breakthrough came with the publication of Astronomy explained upon Sir Isaac Newton’s Principles in 1756,, which was so popular it required a second edition a year later. 

James Fergusson  died aged 66 in London on 17th November 1776 and was buried in St Marylebone churchyard, find out a wee bit more ablout him at the link below

I don't know what's happened to my Facebook account. It's happened gradually so I can't really remember how or when, but gone are the days of seeing an intermittent stream of posts from friends and family, now it's a steady diet of Beatles clips, Game of Thrones posts, and posts about female bass players in heavy metal bands.

I guess I must have fed that last beast out of curiosity once by clicking on a female bass player and now FB gives me a constant supply. But one of the posts caught my eye since I had heard about them on local radio here -- The Warning, three sisters from Mexico who play heavy metal.

Now, heavy metal and I have never been friends, but a quick YouTube search for The Warning yielded "Pau Cam", an isolated view of Paulina (the drummer) from behind. It's easy to see why Kirk Hammett (Metallica) said she 'kicks maximum ass'.

At just 21 she plays with a frenetic style reminiscent of Keith Moon (The Who). Oh, and she sings at the same time. This video clip is an iso from behind with not much audio of the rest of the band, but you'll sure get her energy. Go to 25:15 or so to catch the best part.

Narada Michael Walden Live on Game Changers With Vicki Abelson 

Wow! I’ve seen hundreds of photos, loads of videos - I’ve never seen Narada  Michael Walden in an orange bowler. When was the last time I wore orange? InSync! From the first moment to the last, what a glorious, grateful, exuberant lovefest. Narada is as passionate, fun, inviting, and accessible as his music. 

We talked about his first paper drumkit at 5, how he watched, listened, and learned from his heroes. How the soul sounds of Detroit shaped him, how it’s all soul sounds. From his first band at 11 to the Mahavishnu Orchestra, which would change his life in all ways… adding prayer. mediation, service, and Narada to his name, gifted by his guru, Sri Chinmoy, thanks to John McLaughlin, and of course, the music, following in Billy Cobham’s big footsteps, touring with Jeff Beck, then recording Wired with him, writing “material” for the album, the full circle back to Beck a decade ago and the story behind their masterpiece version of Little Wing. Ah me! How playing transitioned to producing, inspired by Quincy Jones to service other artists, and the superstar women he championed to great heights - Aretha with their Grammy Song of The Year, Freeway of Love, Whitney with their 6 number one hits including their Grammy Winning Album of the Year, Mariah, with musical knowledge to match her musical chops. We talked our friend, Allee Willis, Keith Moon, Ringo, Jaco, Carlos, Sting, Trudy, Stevie, Marvin, Cissy, his last tour with Journey, and how his devotion to his wife and children brought him home. This very morning Narada was up at 6 readying his kids for school and then driving them there. This interview was held early so that he’d be home when they got home. Quite a man. Respect.

URL Meaning - I've made a tiny change to it since the last year. So! "Lil" comes from the fact that I saw this tiny form a few times and thought it was cute. Added "melody" to that because I always wanted to be called Melody online. Thought that it was too cringy when I was younger, but I went like: "Fuck it" in the last year, changing my URL to "lil-melody". Now the third part was added recently, "moon" just to have a piece of Keith in my url if I ever put someone else on header or icon.

Blog Title Meaning - Nothing much, I just wanted to write "Moonie" in there and I did. That was a cute nickname for him actually

Blog title meaning: Steal Away is also from the lyrics to How Many More Times, where Robert sings “ Oh Rosie...oh girl, Oh Rosie...oh girl, Steal Away now. Steal away...steal away baby steal away…. Little Robert Anthony wants to come and play, why don’t you come to me baby, Steal Away”.... (gets me every time)

Sexy Sex Ed Inc.’s  Ability to Make Waves Among American Conservatives

The nonprofit’s official name is Sexy Sex Ed Inc. The entity was setup on October 16, 2020[1]. Three people have officer’s status with the organization: Tanya Turner, Shaylan Clark and Emily Baldridge[2].  

The address tied to the nonprofits website and the State comptrollers website  is 420 East Main St. Hazard, Kentucky 41701. The owner of this building is the Foundation For Appalachian Kentucky, Inc. The chairman for this organization is Joel Brashear. The vice chairman is Kathy Atkins. The secretary is Alison F. Davis. The following people are directors for the nonprofit:  Danny Maggard, Keith Gabbard, Maria Braman, Josh Howard, Janet Smith, Crissy Fiscus, Ellen Williams and Sandi Curd. The foundational articles for Hazaard-Perry County Community Ministries Endowment, Inc, which became Foundation For Appalachian Kentucky, Inc., point this organization in a much different direction then where it finds itself today.  The Facebook account tied to Sexy Sex Ed Inc. is very liberal and open-minded. Shaylan Clark can be seen holding a sign stating Bans Off Our Bodies. Additionally, pro abortion is openly accepted by the masses that support the nonprofit’s core value. [3] Tanya Turner poses on the Facebook account with a horse whip in her hand and a book titled “Pleasure Activism” in the other.[4] Concerns with the age threshold of teaching minors about BDSM, masturbation and other sex while using drugs is raising a lot of eyes.  

 Tanya Turner - Tanya is a femme, fat, queer, magical pleasure worker, educator, & artist. She was raised in rural Kentucky by a host of witchy women alongside sisters and cousins. A coven-like mountain matriarchy, if you will, on Stoney Fork. Her craft tools are candles, crystals, oils, plants, music, sex toys, tarot, the moon, and instincts of a triple water sign (Cancer Sun - Scorpio Moon & Rising). In 2012, Tanya started this Appalachian sex ed collect called Sexy Sex Ed and co-founded the party podcast known as Trillbillies in 2017. With over a decade of rural organizing practice toward healing, abolition, & liberation, she fantasizes about a whole other world. Tanya lives high on a Kentucky mountaintop with lots of plants, a steamy hot tub, and several furry familiars You can join her coven at patreon.com/HaintT.[5]

 Many questions are rising regarding the need to introduce the topic of masturbation to toddlers. In the video Turner explains that when her nephews were able to talk, she starting to talk with them about masturbation.[6] She does state that the ability to explore one’s body does need to be in a consensual way. Some are asking if this is a self admission to grooming.

 Caitlin Cummings – Caitlin Cummings is a 23 year old radical queer mountain woman that grew up in the hollers of Vicco, KY. She grew up always hearing about the injustices of the world and wanting to do things to help. She is currently working on a degree in Human Services where she plans to expand her sex ed work to help people understand the with proper sex ed and body love, you can heal in a lot of different ways, as she has herself. She’s worked with All Access EKY through Appalshop making media to raise awareness about reproductive Healthcare issues in Appalachia. Caitlin has volunteered with different organizations through her college life including WMMT’s Girls Rock Camp in Whitesburg, KY which is a camp made to empower girls, gender non-conforming, and trans youth with music, self-expression, and self-love, as well as The Cottage, a child abuse advocacy center that handles cases of child abuse in ages one to seventeen years old. She’s also volunteered with The New Opportunity School for Women which is a program out of Berea, KY that helps women in Appalachia with educational, financial and personal circumstance in their life. Caitlin loves her plants, social justice and good food.[7]

Larah Helayne – Larah Helayne is an eighteen year old musician, songwriter, and activist, based in Mount Sterling, Kentucky. Growing up in the Appalachian foothills, Larah’s life and work have been greatly impacted by the magnificence of the mountains. Their songs and activism reflect both the beauty and struggles of living in Eastern Kentucky, while weaving in the story of her own wild and wonderful life. Larah places great value and focus on the rich musical heritage of her home, especially in regards to banjo, dance calling, and protest songs. As a young, nonbinary queer in Appalachia, Larah strives to use their songs, voice, and life to fight for human rights and systematic change in the region, through music, community, organizing, and nonprofit work.  Larah founded their school’s first Gender Sexuality Alliance, “Open Light,” which now has over 45 members. They are proud alumni and intern of Girls Rock Whitesburg, and a member of the Family Folk Week Steering committee at Hindman Settlement School. Larah is a sex educator with Sexy Sex Ed, and spends time co-facilitating sex education workshops for fellow Appalachian youth.[8]

 Kirstyn Ooten – Kirstyn is a young, fat, differently-abled, queer community organizer and college student from southern West Virginia. She works as a VISTA in Charleston, and works with kids! She has always dreamt of a space where fat folks are appreciated, normalized, and safe, so she created it. Kirstyn led West Virginia’s first Body Positive Party in 2019, and that has led her into a world of fighting for inclusivity for people like her. She has also worked with Planned Parenthood to secure period products for students across southern WV. Although Kirstyn has take a step back in the last 6 months to focus on health, she is back and better than ever! She uses the same techniques from the Sexy Sex Ed platform in her daily job, and is very passionate about sexuality education. Kirstyn loves all things plants and body love![9]

 The next steps for this group are yet to be determined. Will conservatives rise enough questions regarding the group to cause an investigation to take place? These are just a few of the questions that are going through the minds of many people who are asking their selves if Sexy Sex Ed Inc. crossed the line.
