Is it just me or is there way less fanart being made for this game than the previous ones? Kind of makes me sad, I remember with dai I could check the tags every few hours and find something new weeks after launch, now I only can get away with only looking a few times and week and miss nothing.

I don't think that's Veilguard exclusive.

Things I and my mutuals draw now are getting less notes/reblogs than they did even one year ago, regardless of the fandom. Fanfiction is getting less comments and kudos on ao3 too (not that they were getting many comments in the first place) Less gifs are being made because gif makers weren't getting reblogs. Hell, most of the post I make have a huge discrepancy between likes and reblogs and add polls into that? A thousand people voted on something and only a dozen people reblog it. It's a hollowing feeling when you realise you're calling out to an empty void, I don't blame people for creating less art because of that.

I don't see a vast majority of the people who follow me in my notes because I have likes disabled. Multiple times someone has sent me an ask apologizing for spamming me with likes and I don't understand it? That is not a bad thing And unless you reblogged anything along the way, I didn't even realise you were doing it in the first place. And the people whose notes I do see are not annoying in the slightest, I love the tags you add and I'm sure the original poster does even more so

I'm not trying to shame anyone Into interacting with the fandom spaces they're in but the whole point of Tumblr and what makes it a blogging platform and not social media is that this is a show and tell website. You're supposed to look at something you think is cool and then wave it around for your followers to see and then they pick it up and do the same regardless of how old it is

When you reblog an ask game from someone it used to be common courtesy to send that person one of the asks from it. Folks used to leave comments analysing paragraphs from stories people wrote and theorising about what would happen next on every chapter. We used to send each other asks just asking about our ocs unprompted

If there's no interaction or community when you create something, then what's the point of creating it? It sucks that fandom is morphing into something to be consumed and thrown away the second it's more than a week old unless you're one of a handful of blogs that got lucky and picked up traction at just the right moment

I'm sorry for the rant but I get emotional when I think about the decay of fandom spaces for too long. And this goes without saying, but you guys can reblog anything on my dash if the button isn't disabled on it

Hey guys I have a favour to ask

Please do not reblog Jojos post about the patreon with complaints and disappointment.

Everything everyone is saying is valid. Your fears and concerns- the disappointment because you can't afford it- is so important

Your thoughts are important and so are you

It is very unfair to Jojo, however, to see those reblogs- with half support and half negativity.

Everyone is worried about the fandom- what it means that we might not be able to see some content- that we won't know how to handle some people knowing things before others can

But I would ask that you express those concerns on your own blogs, perhaps not even under the Lu tags.

I know your intentions are good. There is no denying that we all care. But these statements are inherently negative no matter how well meant.

No problems will go away by ignoring it- by just shutting up about it.

What I fear right now is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Most concerns are about the fandom- about there being division, a sense of "elitism".

But if we're worried about division, then we will only make it happen by arguing about it.

We should turn to unity. We can work to make this positive.

Obviously no one will share what is on the patreon before it is public. But we can still share in the wonderful excitement and discussions following updates! We should agree to have just as much joy in what we love.

We should agree for there to be no bragging- only excitement when everyone can see it, that we can share our thoughts just as well as we always could.

This is a huge step for Jojo. In motivation and getting rewarded for years of hard work. In helping her to continue what takes so much time.

We've all read big project fanfictions where the author had to stop. I find this extremely reassuring as to an underlying fear I know we've all had.

Linkeduniverse is wonderful and loved. Now we have more certainty that Jojo means to see this through- to carry out what was never intended to be a story starting out.

I get it. I am so scared too. I'm scared for the fandom and I'm scared for me. There is no way I can afford it. I may not ever be able to.

I'm scared to even make this post- to say my opinion and ask something of others

This is amazing and wonderful. I think everyone agrees that we are so proud of Jojo for taking such a big step for herself.

Reblogging her post with disappointment and rants in the tags- do not show her it's not worth it- that she will only be met with disapproval.

Let's be kind- and make this positive.

This is a good thing. Every worry and concern is valid, it shows how much we care. Let's keep this something we love.

every time I notice artists' (whose art I adore) notice like, "proshippers don't interact", I feel like I have been slapped in the face and personally insulted. you love my favourite character. I love my favourite character. we might even have the same otp. so what are you afraid of?

I mean, I thought we're all adults here? and can see that fiction is fiction and people get to explore things in fiction without harming anybody? and that's the point of fiction because it's fiction? and as long as it's tagged and can be blacklisted, it's fine? also, I thought we had an understanding on our fav character's personality, because they wouldn't discriminate like that?

She remembers sharing her bed with Anne at Henry's behest, remembers the nights of tossing and turning and trying not to think about Anne asleep next to her-- remembers waking up to dark hair spilling across her pillow and the press of blood-warm bosoms against her own, softer than sin, as hot as the Devil, remembers lying still as death, mouthing prayers into the heat of Anne's neck like an act of penance.

seeing ppl talking about mythal and solas - in any kind of relationship, platonic, romantic, familial, whatever - and it's just a constant refrain of "oh the abuse-" "well what about the abuse-" "but she was so abusive-" "so obviously he was abused-"

listen. yes, women can abuse men. that's a thing. i'm not denying that. but nowhere in the canon was it shown that she was anything like abusive to him. nowhere. i've played all the games. i played davg. i saw the murals and i saw the ending

that's an interpretation. you're allowed to have it! but it's not stated in canon. in fact, i've heard that trick weekes clarified that she was not releasing him from a binding

she used his wisdom as a weapon. yes, she did! y'know who else used someone as a weapon? let's see. duncan. king cailan. cassandra. cullen. leliana. josephine. divine justinia. arguably divine victoria as well (i'm fuzzier on da2 so i'm skipping that). solas. but cassandra / inquisitor is a fine ship, right? (note: i truly think it is a fine ship, it's a good ship! i'm just using it as an example) even though cassandra locked the inquisitor up? even though she pinned all the blame for the events of the conclave on them? even though she used them as a weapon to seal the breach?

oh but mythal seeking solas' aid in stopping elgar'nan... well, yeah, of course that's unforgiveable 🙄

solas went willingly. he joined her willingly. she asked, he came, and they did what they did together. he was with her every step of the way, until he wasn't, and even then he never stopped caring about her... and she never stopped caring about him

hurting someone does not necessarily equal abuse. by which i mean... people who care for each other can hurt each other. it can be by accident, or through circumstance. it can happen when ppl are pushed to a brink and they lash out. hurt can happen for many reasons. but calling it abuse implies a level of intent or carelessness which is decidedly not present in anything we've been shown of their relationship

and it's not like i don't notice how so many ppl love the idea of solas treating lavellan with smth akin to worship but when he does it to mythal it's because she's an abusive monster

also he killed her??? that was a thing. that happened. look i'm not saying two wrongs make a right or whatever, but i find it noticeable that it's never, EVER about solas abusing her, using her, nothing like that. she is eternally the villain, her own complexity sanded down to fit into a nice Evil Evanuris box

god. i wouldn't mind so much if it wasn't all i was seeing. it's a fine interpretation but treating it like it's 100% canon and that anyone who doesn't view it that way is Wrong is weird. i am getting so tired of the absolutist statements
