I think I just made a mistake °~°;

A classmate is coming to town to meet up with me, saying that he needs help with directions.

The problem is, he makes me so damn uncomfortable. He's nice but... I just feel uncomfortable around him. Like awkward smiles and all if I interact with him (partially because he admitted that he liked me, but he's a bit older than me; I'm still a minor and he's already 21 years old, as I've heard T T)

And maybe it's just me being paranoid, but my gut keeps telling me that something would happen if I went through with the plan.

Now I'm trying not to open my inbox and see his message, and contemplating if I should make up an excuse (a valid one at that) to not meet up with him.

I wanna tell him off but he never did anything wrong though, so I can't.

I'm at a loss T T

okay cookie listen to me. if your gut is telling you something, PLEASE listen to it. for the love of god listen to it. my gut has gotten very good at recognizing shitty people and bad situations so i can say with confidence that its a good resource. PLEASE don't go.

creeping on a minor when hes 21 IS something wrong. you dont ahve to tell him off and put yourself in a dangerous situation since you dont know what he will do, but just telling him you dont want to meet up should be enough. do you have a guardian that could protect you if he did anything? a friend maybe?

i get feeling uncomfortable and its a really difficult situation to deal with, but being a truthfully as possible might be your best bet since he cant get the wrong idea.

but again, to reiterate, please do not go if your gut is saying DANGER!!! your gut instinct is very credible and mine has been extremely reliable.

Denial: This game I've cherished for so long isn't declining, it's just hit a dry spot. People will come back once the devs finish this massive update, I know it! Anger: Why do people only care for stuff that's "Rare"!? And why is it the "Rare" stuff that gets so overpriced in trading? This game is about getting items you like and using them for roleplay!!! This game was made so that people could play without having to spend any money for additional ingame currency!!! Why is that changing now!? Bargaining: Maybe if I just play a bunch and be a good person, people will remember what the game used to be. Maybe if I keep playing, I'll get those rare items that I only want because they look good (regardless of the "rarity"), I can get those expensive items as F2P, and then I'll prove that this game is still good! Right?

Depression: They've come out with... toys. Irl merch. I should be happy, right? But- not considering the politics behind the company they're using- it just hurts. You buy a toy and you get an exclusive item. But guess what? It's tradable!!! How much is the community trading it for? More in-game currency than a f2p can get by farming in a healthy way, let alone casually. The exclusive items don't even look that good or valuable.

Acceptance: Maybe it was time. This game I've played for half a decade is reaching it's end. I've seen it happen before, that kingdom builder game I loved, that dress up mobile game I loved, and so many others. I suppose it had to happen eventually. I always prided myself on being F2P, even if I spent a little money every now and then as a personal birthday gift or reward for milestones like passing my driving test or graduating. I thought I was better than those P2Ws, so I got so upset when they always came out on top. When they got all the best rewards. But in reality, that's just the way it was going to happen from the start. That's what happens to all games with real money purchases. They're doomed from the start. Maybe I'll return someday. After all, the trading economy will crash eventually, even if it takes years, but it's time for me to truly leave. It's sad, and I'm going to miss it, but there's nothing left for me. It went from a roleplay game to a collection game, and that's sapped all the fun out of it. So this is a bittersweet goodbye. I sunk so many hours into this game and it hurts. And it's silly, grieving for a roleplay game of all things, but that's okay. It's okay that it hurts.
