I love Aemondsa and I got worried with Jon’s pov in the epilogue I know you like Jonsa but I’m lowkey hoping you don’t make it a love triangle (it’s your story tho and I love your writing so I trust your decisions!)

First of all, thank you so much! I am happy you love the story. I've updated several Firesteel contents since you left this ask in my ask box, included the trailer of the second installment of the trilogy! Hope it serves as a consolation for my tardiness in replying to your lovely message.

Don't you worry, I am not a big fan of triangles, so you won't get a love triangle.

This is pretty forward, of course Jon's love for Sansa and Sansa's love for Jon will play — and has played — an important part on her choices and how things happened. It was mostly due Aemond's sour resemblance to Jon's brooding that Sansa took the chance to see beyond history where he was concerned, and it was mainly taking a leaf from her brother's book that Sansa started to play the game a certain way, implementing Jon's ways to her own.

There will be a romantic hue?, yes, but, will it cause a triangle? Nope. Not happening. I may be a little gremlin of an author but there will be enough pining and angst and mooning over each other without the interjection of a third, future party in the whole deal. Nope, no Jon/Aemond/Sansa triangle. Not for me.

Thou hast winter in thy eyes, the part I of the first installment of the KBF~KBS’ world has come to an end with the new chapter just updated (short and sweet) as we follow through the next part — when dragons danced [wolves stalked in the snow]— will begin with next chapter!

Was it a testament of how noble she actually was? What did her signet ring mean? He had never dared to ask her, to confront her about it and now it laid almost forgotten into one his chests. He had took it off his neck purposefully the day she had kissed him and he had decided to trust whatever truth was in between them but it still burned into his mind from time to time.

She looked as if cut from stone, a queen of old, standing against the coming cold with all the determination that only stone could replicate.

“I believe you,” he said not knowing how else to respond.

It seemed to settle some kind of raw hurt in her and she smiled at him and the world shone brightly, little did he know the entire world was about to shift on its ax and never be the same around them with one simple thing.

Ringing bells.

I’m in a mood, so guess what I’ve done?

I’ve written half of the next chapter of Wind of Ice — for anyone still waiting for that fic’s update — which should be up in the next few days. A Ned’ chapter taking place in Harrenhal 😉 I’ll post a sneak-peek of it tomorrow or even tonight, depends on how busy I’ll be.

And yeah, I’ve not yet replied to your asks, but tbh I’ve been hyper fixated on the new chapter of Wind of Ice and the trailer of next instalment of KBF~KBS… so I hope that it will be consolation enough for having to wait a little bit more for my reply. I swear that as soon as I post the new chapter of Wind of Ice I’ll get around to reply to you!

has a fantastic aemondsa story that has great team green dynamics where they actually love each other. It has politics that the show just ignores in favor of lifting up their girlboss rhaenyra stu. Go give it a read if you like @fadingstudentbananacookie it actually feels like a war instead of everybody vs aemond and Aegon.

Can someone atp write a fix-it fanfic for Team Green, pls?? I’m begging you?? Like, I don’t fucking care if Rhaenyra or Aegon II wins at the end of your story, but actually make the Greens worthy opponents that are loyal to each other and an Alicent who doesn’t think about sucking Rhaneyra’s dick 24/7.

Make Alicent ambitious, sympathetic, loving to her children, dysfunctional, greedy, hateful to those who treated her unfairly, witty, cunning, spiteful, remorseful, who loves her grandchildren and sons and even Otto (because wtf does she care more about her rapist than her father who is trying to help save her children's lives???), who believes she deserves power because she did her duty, and is capable of silencing a room full of the most powerful men in the continent because she can. You can show her intelligence that Rhaenyra and Viserys do not see, but the rest of the small council does. You can show her inferiority complex (vs Rhaenyra's superiority complex) seeping in when she is surrounded by powerful people despite having a brilliant mind. Because—why would intelligence in a broodmare matter when you're in the same room full of Targaryen dragon-riders or a bunch of powerful, rich men?

Not everything about her arch has to revolve around her ex-bsf/lover. Show her relationship with her father, her children, her pedophilic husband, her grandchildren, her brothers, her sworn shield—HERSELF without any of it going back to Rhaenyra. Show how Otto and Viserys molded her into what she is. Show her sacrifices! Be willing to show her trauma, and not just connect it to "how better her life had been with Rhaenyra" type of shit! Show her fears without sugarcoating them by making Rhaenyra a more grey character who isn't afraid to do awful things! Show how Alicent hides her ambition in the name of Westerosi custom, but finds herself reluctantly acknowledging and then fully accepting it by the end of the Dance, without having to humiliate the fuck out of her!

Most people say they don’t want Alicent’s arch to revolve around her children and motherhood only, although it’s such an integral part of her characterization—and I somewhat agree with that! Yet, those same people do a complete 360 and want her to just simp and envy Rhaenyra. You can do both without making her look like a stuck-up!

AND YES, HER FAMILY IS IMPORTANT TO HER EVEN IN THE END. She does not need to think only about Rhaenyra on her deathbed. She is ALLOWED to mourn her dead children and father while grieving her childhood friend/love interest.

This woman literally has main character energy, and I dare say, more than the main character herself. Go read the book, I’m begging you 😭 Use the books and HOTD season 1 as inspiration.

I am considering of cutting the first instalment of the main story short. I had anticipated and brainstormed around 38/40chapters (plot wise they are ready too) — adding some Vale arc as well as more Kings Landing and Dragonstone — but it feels better to put all of that in the next instalment with what will remain of the North arc of the story.

The fit’d be cleaner especially considering how the third instalment is going to be divided, and plot-wise it makes more sense because it’d give us:

mainstory one: kissed by fire~kissed by steel, part I — Thou hast winter in thy eyes/when the dragons danced -> happening from Sansa being thrown back in time, to her gathering her bearings, creating her new environment and growing stronger within it, the beginning of her love story with Aemond, and her getting more agency.

mainstory two: kissed by fire~kissed by steel, part II, speak some sense to me -> the Dance of Dragons in all of its complexity (which is why I feel that the arc I had originally planned for the first instalment is better suited at the beginning of this one instead)

mainstory three: kissed by fire~kissed by steel, part III, Infinity -> some after the Dance of Dragons and how the rest is going to go now that the civil war has ended, exploring the consequences of the changes Sansa has caused.

This way it (the first main story of three) still has breath to be read gracefully without becoming too stilted and it feels better for the whole arc that is coming in the next instalment. It also makes more logical sense in my mind.
