kevin moon is on a never-ending, infinite hunt for all things red. it’s how you met him actually, somehow only humored by when he approached you, a stranger, on the street and asked for a picture of your red trench coat. you had complied. he took the picture, fiddled with the phone in his hand, and then more shamefully asked if he could have your red coat too. you almost walked away right then.

it’s an annoying habit most days, when he stops whatever you’re both doing to take a picture of a red umbrella or spends twenty minutes debating whether or not he should buy a red mug at the flea market. but on other days, it’s cute, comforting even. when he shows up at your doorstep with two red roses explaining that he saw them at the side of the road and decided to take one for you too, you just laugh at him, happy to have such an odd friend with an even odder hobby. you’re a little bit embarrassed to admit how sad you got when the rose started to wilt away.

“why do you do it?” you ask one day, as he orders some red colored desert solely to take a picture of it.

he shrugs. “no real reason.”

“oh.”

“what? did you expect there to be some deep backstory to the whole thing?”

you laugh. “i mean, well, yea. sort of.”

“nah.” he shakes his head, swirling his red straw. “i just like the color red.”

february is a particularly fun time for kevin. there’s red in everything. you aren’t sure how it started, but at some point in the month, he started texting you pictures of every especially interesting red thing he found. although when he sends you a picture of fire hydrant, you learn that ‘especially interesting’ has a loose meaning. no, this one was cool he had told you over text i actually saw a dog pee on it. you had left him on read. but still, the texts continue, even after valentines day passes. and even you can’t deny the smile that appears from every notification you get with his name and the every-growing churning in your gut when you open a text from him.

Ive watched kurokos's basketball in my native language, and then tried to search for other alternatives (aka english sub and dub) and it ruined my experience, the native language ver, they changed all of the names to give them more "american" names, and the whole translation was utter shit, the whole plot was weird in the native language.. i hated it and i couldnt continue watching it in English sub or dub, they did the same with sailor moon, usagi was named SABRINA for some fucking reason..

Loki: Best Shows to Watch If You’re Missing the God of Mischief

The God of mischief might be off in a different timeline prepping for a second season but we still need something to put in our eyes. Assuming you’ve already binged the MCU shows WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, we’ve rounded up some other great series that could scratch that Loki-shaped itch. Some of these are spiritually similar, some are great showcases of Loki’s cast and others explore similar themes. All are crackers though and well worth setting your tempad for. 

Flowers

This Brit black comedy which aired on Channel 4 in the UK ran for two seasons, each equally special. Is it similar to Loki? Not at face value, but it does feature a stand out turn from Sophia Di Martino who stole the show as female Loki, Sylvie. Written by Will Sharpe, it’s the story of a highly dysfunctional family, with Julian Barrett and Olivia Coleman as parents on the verge of separation and Di Martino and Daniel Rigby as their troubled twins. Flowers is surreal, magical realistic, gothic and often bleak while remaining funny and moving at all times. Not a big world-hopping show like Loki, then, but it does tackle existential crisis head on, and it’ll only make you love Di Martino more. RF

Lovecraft Country

Like many Marvel projects, the Loki TV series has a deep bench of impressive acting talent. One of the most undersung (and honestly underutilized) members of the first season’s cast was Wunmi Mosaku, aka Hunter B-15, who was asked to depict a deep and abrupt change in loyalties over the course of six episodes. Mosaku pulls it off, mostly because she is a phenomenal actress. If you’re looking to see more of her work, look no further than HBO’s Lovecraft Country (but also watch In the Flesh, in which Mosaku plays the Season 2 antagonist), which also features He Who Remains’ Jonathan Majors in the main cast. (A two-fer!) Mosaku plays Ruby Baptiste, a Black singer living in 1950s Southside Chicago in this social horror. Come for Wunmi Mosaku and Jonathan Majors, stay for… Wunmi Mosaku and Jonathan Majors, but also for a TV series that has more supernatural twists than even the most bonkers episode of Loki. KB

Rick and Morty

If your favorite part of Loki was the existence of a thriving multiverse, then we’ve got some good news. Beloved Adult Swim series Rick and Morty (that also admittedly can have an overzealous fandom) is all about the storytelling joy that multiverses can provide. Mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his grandson Morty Smith reside in a plane of infinite universes and therefore infinite possibilities for bizarre adventure. Rick and Morty alum Michael Waldron served as Loki‘s head writer and the writing staff consisted of several more vets of the animated hit. Fans of Loki’s many variants will certainly enjoy encountering the countless versions of Rick, Morty, and their family. Just wait until you meet Lawyer Morty. Look at the little guy go! AB

Doctor Who

Not an original comparison, but one that absolutely stands up. After all, what was Loki episode three if not Doctor Who gifted a Disney budget? Nexus Events, the Sacred Timeline, doomed moons, memory reactivation… almost everything about Loki has one foot in the world of Doctor Who. The Marvel series may have had Time Keepers instead of Time Lords,  variants instead of regenerations, and an alligator in place of… well, which Doctor would be the most likely to eat a cat? (Troughton’s, obviously), but there’s common DNA here. The really good news for the Loki fan who hasn’t already travelled with the Doctor(s) through space and time is that instead of just six episodes, there are roughly 10 billion of them plus novelisations, audio adventures, comic strips, videogames and a TV movie. The Night Manager

Tom Hiddleston’s bum. But also this is an excellent series adapted from the novel of the same name by John le Carré and directed by Oscar winner Susanne Bier. Hiddleston plays Jonathan Pine, manager of a luxury hotel who gets recruited to infiltrate the inner sanctum of Hugh Laurie’s violent and volatile arms dealer. Olivia Colman co-stars once again (Hiddleston, Laurie and Colman all won Golden Globes for their performances) with a supporting role for Elizabeth Debicki which was very much a precursor for her part in Tenet. Post-Night Manager, Hiddleston was top billed to be the next Bond, so given Tenet basically was Bond but on another timeline, and featured time travel as an integral part, Loki and The Night Manager are basically the same show… RF

Timeless

If you wish Loki had been a bit more of a time-hopping procedural, then we have a show for you. Timeless, which aired on NBC for two too-short seasons from 2016-2018, stars Abigail Spencer as Lucy Preston, a historian who gets recruited by a secret department within U.S. Homeland Security in order to stop a mysterious organization that has stolen a time machine. Lucy teams up with scientist Rufus and soldier Wyatt, and the three unlikely bedfellows must learn to work together in high-stakes settings like the Hindenburg, Ford’s Theatre, and the Alamo. Co-created by The Boys showrunner Erik Kripke, Timeless has tons of character-driven twists that make the time travel personal, tying together these characters and settings in unexpected ways. KB

Legion

Loki is such a bold, creative superhero series that it’s hard to imagine that there’s every been anything quite like it. Believe or not – that’s not entirely true! While Loki is one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first big heady sci-fi TV swing, it’s not Marvel’s first overall on television. From 2017 to 2019, Marvel-adjacent property Legion enjoyed a bizarre, colorful three-season run on FX. This series is based on the X-Men character David Haller a.k.a. Legion. Diagnosed with schizophrenia at a young age, David also just happens to be a mutant with nigh-omnipotent powers. This show from Fargo‘s Noah Hawley revels in the strange potential of its premise. Legion is often confusing, but always intriguing. It’s a show that largely replaces superhero battles with dance offs. It’s well worth watching the entire run while you wait for Loki season 2. AB

The OA

Very different to Loki in tone but very similar in head-messing inter-dimensional WTF-ness, The OA is a strange and beautiful beast. If you could follow the Marvel show’s timeline hopping, then you’ve a strong chance of grasping the madness at play in Netflix’s The OA. It starts off as a story about the return of a woman (played by co-creator Brit Marling) who’s been missing for seven years, and ends up as a story about… parallel dimensions, arcane rituals, experimental physics, sci-fi magic and a kind-of-haunted house. It’s a total trip, in short, and should scratch any itch Loki fans are experiencing for TV of the weird variety. Speaking of which, give us season three, Netflix, you cowards. LM

Quantum Leap

Before the TVA there was Doctor Sam Beckett. Played by puppy-faced Scott Bakula, Sam is a scientist who invented a “quantum accelerator” (time machine) that randomly transports him back in time to put right events which once went wrong. In each episode of Quantum Leap, Sam wakes up in the body of someone else at a distinct point in history and has to figure out his mission with the help of his best mate, in hologram form, Al (Dean Stockwell). Sam is essentially maintaining the sacred timeline at the expense of his own life and free will, which would make Al…. Miss Minutes? Either way, it’s a hugely good natured show which ran for five seasons and it’s well worth a visit. RF

Continuum

Continuum protagonist Kiera (Rachel Nichols) has serious Sylvie energy. While they might not have much in common when it comes to their background—Sylvie is trying to take down the time authorities while Kiera, a cop from the corporate-controlled future, is an authority—they’re both incredibly focused women who will do what they have to in order to achieve their goals. Continuum follows Kiera, when she is unexpectedly stranded in our present. Desperate to get back to her family and her life in the future, Kiera teams up with a teen genius, as well as local detective Carlos Fonnegra. Filled with complex character arcs and alternate timelines, Continuum is a must for any fan of time travel TV. KB

Life on Mars

Loki’s crime procedural/time-hopping/fantasy cocktail may have been made famous by Quantum Leap, but it achieved its apotheosis (that’s right, five syllables, count ‘em) in BBC One’s Life on Mars. That’s the story of Sam Tyler (John Simm), a Manchester police officer who’s hit by a car in 2006 and wakes up in 1973. Like Loki, Tyler has to piece together what’s really going on behind-the-scenes while running his own investigations. Tyler may not be a God, or have magical powers and other planets to visit, but Life on Mars still took him to some odd and captivating places. It ended prematurely after two seasons (at the request of Simm, who said he wanted to spend more time with his family), after which the tale continued with sequel Ashes to Ashes starring Keeley Hawes. Currently, plans are afoot for a belated third series. LM

Symptoms

When you open your Calendar in Microsoft Outlook 2016 for Mac, the Open Shared Calendar button on the ribbon is unavailable.

Additionally, when you point to Open on the File menu, the Calendar option is unavailable.

Cause

This issue occurs if the Group similar folders, such as Inboxes, from different accounts check box is selected and the Hide On My Computer folders check box is cleared in General Preferences.

Workaround

To work around this issue, use one of the following methods:

Select the Exchange folder in My Calendars.

Open the calendar.

Expand My Calendars to display the Exchange mailbox calendar, the On My Computer calendar, and calendars that are associated with any other accounts that are open in Outlook for Mac.

Select the Exchange check box.

After you do this, the Open Shared Calendar button on the ribbon is available.

Open another user's Calendar.

On the File menu, point to Open, and then select Other Users Folder.

Search for and then select the user whose calendar you want to open.

In the Folder Type box, select Calendar.

Select Open.

Change the preferences settings that are related to the On My Computer folders.

On the Outlook menu, select Preferences.

Select General.

Clear the Group similar folders, such as Inboxes, from different accounts check box.

If you want, select the Hide On My Computer folders check box.

Right click on “This PC” or “My Computer” icon and select Manage and then “Device Manager“.

Right click on those devices and select “Properties“.

In Properties, go to “Details” Tab.

In Details tab, locate “Hardware ID” (3rd option) from dropdown list.

Device ID can be single line, or even 2 or of 3 lines. But notable thing is every detail of “Device ID” would have VEN and DEV in it. If it’s not, then keep looking, until you locate details similar as above.

“The Creature” is, obviously, from an alternative dimension. It was the designated Eclipse in its dimension, and had an upbringing that played more to the tune of canon Eclipse than my own KB rendition. It sees itself in KB Eclipse in a lot of ways, but knows that, morally, they are drastically different.

In its dimension, it had just managed to start making amends with the others when things started…going wrong. Lunar went missing first. His body turned up only days later, torn to shreds without a single trace of his attacker. It was like the air itself had stolen him away and ripped him apart. It began as a mystery- no one knew what could’ve done that to Lunar. Some didn’t WANT to know.

But, when Sun’s turn came…it was no mystery what happened to him. A rugged endoskeleton, distorted and horrifically twisted into less of a robot and more of a monster. Huge teeth, large, razor sharp claws, and empty eyes. Sun was gone before anyone even had the chance to scream. As time went on, more and more of these things turned up.

The last to go was Blood Moon. “The Creature” tried to save them, just as it had done for Moon only weeks before. It tried to pry them free of those jaws, even as it paid heavy prices in what would later turn into irreversible scars.

But nothing compared to the sound of those teeth clamping down on Blood Moon, their screams fading off into the distance as all attempts to follow are proved futile in the face of yet more beasts.

Claiming that “The Creature” went mad would be an understatement. The last safe room it claimed as its own looks more like a cell than a safe haven, littered with claw marks and splattered with oil. Eclipse no longer felt like a name, but a title, the weight of saving his dimension too much to bear on his own.

He abandoned his name. Abandoned his identity and sense of self. Took up the name “Ex,” instead. Crossing out who he once was, afraid his former name would bring back all those awful memories he tries so hard to hide from.

Then this group shows up, wearing the faces of the bodies he remembers burying a long, long time ago. Curious.

Even more so when he sees his own.

He feels safest around Eclipse, since all the others appear as corpses in his mind. So many bodies. Bodies of those he loved.

That’s why he has to get these newcomers home before they become bodies, too.

Or, even worse, before he starts to love them.

“The Creature” is a name given to him by Eclipse and the others, as he doesn’t talk much and hasn’t said his name as of yet. So they just…call him “The Creature.”

A stretch of woods southeast of Gloomy Manor, where the Broken Mansion is located.

Where KB and all the other Boos currently live. It’s run-down and older than the other mansions.

Sobsalot Forest

A thick selection of trees that seems to keep out all sunlight. Also very heavy in flowering plants. It earned its name due to setting off so many allergies and making people look like they’re crying.

Village of Yelp

Karolyn’s home village. Pretty quiet, and has a primarily Koopa population.

Serenade City

A bustling city and the place that draws the most tourists. Known for having a large portion of musical talent.

Screaming Shores

A port town that is on the decline. Used to handle trading, but recently closed its docks.

Yawning Caverns

A series of caves and tunnels. Nothing is known to live in there, but it has a large variety of gemstones.

Grumble Mountain

A large mountain range next to Whisperwind Valley. The tallest mountain is actually a dormant volcano.

Whisperwind Valley

A quiet valley with a few villages in it. The locals prefer things stay quiet.

Big Toppin'

Last night was back to Launch Pad class at The Big Top. The movement of the night was deadlifts. I dread deads because of my extensive back injury history. But I've slowly been working on it and I've been using the Jefferson lift so it's a lot like a big squat and helps protect the back. I also do two sets of each weight alternating my straddle and grip. 

5 sets of 3 w/ warm-up: Warm-up: 135, 135, 155 Sets: 155, 165, 165, 175, 175 

175 is a new PR for me! It may not sound like a lot, but given my history of back injuries, I'm happy with the progress.  After deads was the workout of the night.

11 min amrap split into 3 couplets; 5 min, 3 min, and 3 min w/ no rest built in: 5 min: -10 kb swings (53#) -10 rev renegade lunges (53#) Completed 4 rounds 3 min: -10 kneeling half moon w/ plate (35#) -10 scissor lunges Completed 3 rounds 3 min: -10 halos w/ plate (35#) -10 chest to plate pushups Completed 4 rounds

Tonight was our team night and it was a sufferfest!

We started with one person on the rower.  Once they got the rower up to 150 watts the timer started and they had to keep it above 150 for a full minute.  When their time was up there was a 30 sec switch and the next person had to get the rower up to 175 watts before the 30 sec was over and keep it there for the next full min.  At the end of that time, the next person had to get it to 200 and keep it there, and so on until we got to 400 watts.

For every person that failed keeping the wattage up, the team had to do 10 burpees for each team member split however was needed (there were 11 of us and did the workout as one big team).

While the one person was on the rower, everyone else was doing an amrap: -20 pushups -50 mtn climbers -20 situps -50 air squats -20 kb swings (53#) -50 jump rope -20 single arm ring row Completed 1 full rd and pushups and mtn climbers from the 2nd rd

We ended up having to do burpees for the people at 175 watts, 275, 375, and 400.  We played a little strategy with it worked enough to keep it down to 40 burpees per person.

Enjoyed a high school basketball game after class and then dinner.  Now we’re relaxing, hitting the sack, and getting ready to get up for the 6a class tomorrow morning!
