ok so prefacing by saying that all of the events that befall my poor dnd character today have the rough comedic timing of This Video.

that's a good sign. anyway our team gets ambushed by goblins, this is our second actual combat encounter.

we all roll initiative. that guy gets a Two.

because they do not have time to distance themself (they are a ranged fighter generally) the closest goblin hits them with OVER HALF THEIR HP.

they distance themself and try to fire back. MISS with a fucking. 12. best roll that session.

their next turn they use arcane weapon to give their pistol a buff and roll to fire. They Roll A One.

this guy's pistol misfires, blowing up Straight In Their Face for not only 1d10 (+2!) piercing but ALSO 1d6 lightning damage from the spell they just fucking used. killing them instantly (they were fine)

i actually hate being an artist with free will sometimes. on one hand i can sit down and draw something and spend hours on details and end up with something pretty like this

and then on the otherhand i use all my skills to bullshit something as a joke, put a little too much detail in it and end up with shit like this

i cannot tell you how many times this has happened and how many times my friends have fallen witness to these events. everytime i start laughing at my shitposts, collective “uh oh”s and “oh no”s are heard. i am being 100% serious

i personally believe it is NEVER okay to gatekeep music. It's for everyone, it's universal, it comes in all pretty little shapes and sizes. There's no mold to fit, music is music. There's the good, the bad, the ugly, the amazing, there's every genre every taste every sound and beep bop bwop beep-

It's okay to find a song popularized In a certain fanbase and you suddenly really like that artist and listen to more of their music. It's okay if you like the songs and not the artist, it's okay if you like the artist and not the songs. It's okay to only like a few songs from an artist or like every single one the point every song from that creator is in your playlist all day!

Its okay to be into music, never let anyone take that from you just because they think you "don't deserve it" or "they were here first". And it's never okay to Gatekeep Music. If you really did enjoy the songs / artist, you should be encouraging their work to others instead of hiding it away! It's how you help them grow and earn! And it also gives you an opportunity to teach about song meanings or beats or what's passionate to you about said music. You don't have to gatekeep it because you wanna feel special or original, being a fan of someone since they started or since their first album doesn't make you special, it makes you a fan, a fan who's happened to be there for a while and you really enjoy what they make.

So go! Go out there and tell someone to listen to this song your favourite band made because you love them and you want others to enjoy it too! Go put that song request in the restaurant boombox machine, go share your headphones with a friend, GO! Stop gatekeeping and gooo
