Bringing back a blast from the past, considering I made this nearly 10 years ago, I think it's held up pretty well! Love getting to be one of my fave Ghibli heroines! I still kinda wanna make a plushie Ohmu for her

Burdened by what she knows and what she must do, Nausicaa can’t fly freely anymore…

Hey so remember that drawing I made of bird Nausicaa? The idea struck me how as time goes on in the manga, she loses her innocence, getting more and more tangled in difficult and complex situations. She realizes she can’t save everyone, especially with no casualties. I wanted to draw this idea in metaphor :)
