Okay, I'm not actually good with numbers so I'm going to ask you as you seem like you'd know: with Kayla and Skye out of the picture, if Shilese is injured, how possible is for Brazil or China to best the US in TF without the US having a complete meltdown? (I don't mind if Simone goes out of bounds or falls on vault, but I don't actually want to wish them a kidney disease flareup or a panic attack)

Again these teams assume the best possible outcome for the US team and counts on everyone hitting everything. Which on that team I think I would only trust Biles to do. It also assumes a Biles Cheng instead of a YDP because that's what she did in the team final last year.

And this uses all US domestic scoring.

I'm still inclined to say they win... but if they have a (non injury disaster) ... a couple of falls, Lee is getting more realistic E scores, they get hit by the floor artistry truck... and the Brazilians might get close. But the problem is the Brazilians have to hit too.

No but a group of 6-8 are the front runners for that spot and i would be shocked if main team members come outside of them.

"3rd AAer" - jordan / leanne / Kayla / skye

FX/VT - Jade, maybe jordan if she has an upgrade

BB/?UB - Suni (even without a 15 UB routine, that beam is hard to leave) ; MAYBE Skye if she gets it together but suni would be the "taken for BB" girl if they decide to do that

FX - Kaliya if Jade doesnt upgrade (its hard for her will just 1 event with Shi looking so good there)

Needs something big to happen to have a chance - Gabby NEEDS a big UB at this point, i really think her BB composition is terrible and isnt getting her on the team and VT is her best rn and good DTYs are a dime a dozen among the contenders; Trinity (FTY hurts her, and she isnt getting on the team with 3-5th ranked UB), Josc (her ankles may no longer exist) ; Tiana looks like a prime alt candidate along with Katelyn Jong

So barring injury or something catastrophic, I think Simone and Shilese are locks for the 5 member team. Do we think anyone else is a lock?

If the team is going to be 3 AAers plus 1 VT/FX and 1 BB/UB and assuming Simone and Shilese have the first two AA slots locked down, I actually think Jordan makes more sense as the VT/FX gymnast than either Jade or Josc. Jordan has a tendency to falter in the AA but do well on individual events. Her DTY is really nice and really consistent and I'd be perfectly comfortable having that instead of Jade's Cheng in a team final. That leaves the third AA spot open for someone like Leanne or Kayla who is maybe not a very interesting gymnast but can provide four solid scores across the board. Then who fuckin' knows for the UB/BB slot. That would have been nice for Konnor (sobs). But it would be nice for Skye I suppose because her balance beam has good potential. And I have my doubts that Suni will be bars ready in time.

I think we can have a good US team without either Jade or Josc. Can someone tell NBC that?

in kindergarten, bc my parents were always working, i usually didn’t have anyone around to pack me a school lunch. so i used to go to school everyday with two lil packets of chips (in USD, i think it cost like 25-30 cents to buy both?) and i’d give them to other kids in exchange for proper snacks like sandwiches or granola bars 😌  (yes, what i’m saying is that fetus izzy invented the barter system 😤 )

i can read two non-Latin language scripts (Hindi and Arabic). my Hindi isn’t perfect, but i can usually get by in conversation. as for Arabic, i know the alphabet and can read the words out loud, but i’ll have no idea what i’m saying 🤡

i really like indie music + cinema! my music playlists usually have a lot of riot grrrl, dark house, synthpop and some 90s stuff. as for cinema, i find a lot of random shit on reddit (a couple of Bollywood ones too) and often drag my friends into watching them with me (they hate me for it but idc 🥰 )

I was writing your appreciation post but I’m gonna write it here instead because you don’t deserve to wait any longer!!

1. You can make anyone smile. There hasn’t been a day that has gone by where I don’t light up at your presence. You’re always saying the right things to cheer me up and make me feel worthy of praise. I never frown when I’m talking to you because every word I read from you is like a shot of love.

2. You’re extremely loyal. Any time I tell you something, I know you’ll be there to back me up. I always feel like I have someone by my side: a protector and a friend. You always come back to check up on me regardless of how busy you are.

3. Talking with you is so easy. Have you seen all our tags? Yes, I love you to the moon and back. Yes I love you in this universe and all the rest. YES, I’m always 💗👄💗 when I see you. We literally talk about the dumbest shit but we always make it extra and chaotic and that’s why I love us.

4. You’re caring to the fullest extent. I love that we say good morning and good night to each everyday. I love how it’s become a habit. It’s been a few months now and we’re still doing that. Isn’t that amazing?? It’s those little things that show that we care about each other and will continue to look after one another.

5. Everything you put out is a masterpiece. You never rush a request or an indulgent piece. You’re careful with how you write it depending on whether it’s a hc or fic and that’s what makes each piece turn out so eloquent and well-written. I’ve never once been disappointed in something you’ve written. How could I? You are perfection in human form.
