Day 30 • Tim Truman This is Truman's Scout, apparently a comic run from the late 80s featuring a Native American battling against the government in a post apocalyptic world! - - - - - - - - Had to sketch this one quick because of the day job slowly approaching 🕰️ I know my creators with day jobs feel that! Made me realize one of the coolest aspects of my IG is I don't mind (too much) showing the flaws/growth in my work. Hopefully it inspires... #Kayfabetober Day 27 was #manga! I have not read much manga honestly, but do have a small must-read list. This summer I was fortunate enough to have a buddy donate a sizable collection of comics to me and in there was a nice run of “Lone Wolf and Cub”, which is definitely on the list. I was looking at artwork from #LoneWolfAndCub and started thinking about my short story “WOLFBAIT: KOSWALSKI” (featured in @northsidecomicartists Hallowzine2; DM me for a copy) and how I could very nicely parallel a key scene from my story with an iconic image from the manga. #Kayfabetober Day26 is #TMNT! I don’t think I’ve drawn a turtle since maybe the sixth grade. My introduction to the Heroes in a Halfshell was through the original late 80s-early 90s cartoon show. I was aware of the action figures but was not into them and the only one I remember having was Baxter Stockman, oddly enough. I don’t know when I realized TMNT was originally a DIY black and white comic book series, but was pretty blown away by that fact. Admittedly to this day I have to admit I’ve only read an issue or two of that original run, which I need to remedy. When @erikjonlarsen included them in issue no2 of his regular ongoing #SavageDragon run they regained some serious cred with me. It’s #Kayfabetober Day25, and I have decided to play the #TomScioli WILD CARD! What can I say, Tom, other than I would love to see you on the channel more often. But it’s precisely that scarcity, that rarity, that keeps us longing for more! We can all agree the Ed and Jimmy hold down the fort exquisitely, but when you show up there is an electricity in the air. You complete the Triad, the Triune, the Trinity, the Trifecta, the Tri-Force! I really dig on your esoteric and occult knowledge and wisdom and would love to get metaphysical and mythological in person one day day, Tommy Boy! Keep firing on all cylinders and being your big bad self. It’s difficult for me to put into words how much the Cartoonist Kayfabe YouTube channel and now community has meant to me the past year and a half or so (has it only been that long??). It came at the perfect time in my life both personally and creatively, and has proven to be an immense inspirational and motivational force.
