When New Romantics was written?

Hi thank you, I love these asks today! We don't really know. It’s often linked to this Cosmo quote about wanting to stay single. However this quote from on stage in Glasgow is more helpful:

It’s a very painful moment for me because I still loved him, but I felt like our relationship had been this kind of bubble world. I was never going to let anybody in. I was never going to allow myself to feel anything. But then I started thinking about all the people I have in my life who I love and I care about and I want to keep them close, and I realized that the lines that you write, they don’t have to be real. They don’t have to be “what happened last week.” They could be what you wish would happen.”

An ex on a trip to Japan you say? How about two of them together, (with Katy Perry) being widely publicised in Tokyo on 1 November 2013! Taylor has seemed to like partners being there for her, I imagine she would have liked John to come to her shows which I don't believe he did - I would guess him travelling to Japan for Katy would annoy her. Add photos backstage with One Direction and, well you have some bad blood.

Maybe they were already in contact, or maybe Taylor contacted Harry as he was quoted talking about getting back together with an ex later that month. And just because I love this:

I don't think Taylor was still in love with JM, I think she may have combined John and Harry to be more relatable and less messy. That said, Shake it off also refers to JM and Katy with "My ex-man brought his new girlfriend". We know from the Secret Message (she danced to forget him) referring to the 2014 Grammys where KP and JM were loud and she was mocked for dancing.

Finally, why say this in Glasglow on the 1989 tour?

As in why is she talking about she was in love with Harry and thinking about John Mayer in Calvin's home country while they were dating? Why indeed.
