. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁only star ✮ manon bannerman

She may be the reason I survive
pairing.ᐟ actress!manon bannerman x reader
about.ᐟ when actress Manon Bannerman walks into your record store searching for a rare vinyl, she doesn’t expect you to be clueless about her fame. the brief encounter turns intriguing when a fan outs Manon’s identity, leading you to chase after her and get her number, but the connection is quickly tested—paparazzi ambush the both of you, forcing an escape to your apartment, where you bond in private. As you get a glimpse of Manon’s chaotic world, the reality of dating someone famous becomes overwhelming and just when things start to feel real, Manon’s girlfriend returns from L.A., ready to reclaim her place.
genre.ᐟ fluff, kind of angsty
wc.ᐟ 1094 words
a/n.ᐟ the song isn't really necessary, but i just want to appreciate this song cuz it just make me feel something, also i might not post or i'll try to post another angst today (thesis been biting me in the fuckin ass). anyways, happy valentines, my lovely peepz!
The why and wherefore I'm alive
The bell above the door chimed as Manon Bannerman stepped into the vinyl shop, the scent of old records and dust filling her senses. She wasn’t sure why she chose this particular store—maybe it was instinct, or just blind luck—but she was searching for something rare. Something special.
Rows upon rows of vinyl stretched before her, a collector’s dream. As she made her way to the rare collections section, she was greeted by the shop’s owner, a charming individual with a welcoming smile.
“Looking for something special?” a warm voice called out.
She looked up to see the owner behind the counter. You had an easy confidence about you, a quiet charm. Not someone who immediately recognized her, and that was refreshing.
“Yes, actually,” Manon replied, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. “Do you happen to have The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, signed by all four Beatles?”
You frowned, tapping your fingers against the counter. “That’s a deep cut. Let me check.”
As you sifted through your catalog, Manon watched you. There was something about the way you moved—calm, deliberate, unaffected. She could tell you weren’t used to dealing with celebrities, and for some reason, she liked that.
“No luck,” you finally said, glancing up. “But I can put out feelers.”
Her lips twitched in amusement. “You really don’t know who I am, do you?”
You shrugged. “Should I?”
Before she could respond, a high-pitched squeal rang through the shop. “Oh my God, Manon Bannerman?” A young woman clutching a stack of records gawked at her. “I love Uncharted! Your performance was unreal!”
Manon stiffened slightly, her expression flickering between amusement and frustration. That was when it hit you—she was famous. Like, really famous.
A beat of silence stretched between you before she sighed, muttering, “Well, that answers that.” Then, with an apologetic half-smile, she turned and slipped out the door
You hesitated only a second before following. “Hey, Manon!” you called, jogging after her.
She glanced back, surprised.
“At least let me get your number for when I find that record.”
She studied you, lips quirking. Then, as if making a decision, she plucked the pen from behind your ear, grabbed your wrist, and scrawled a number across your skin.
“Good luck,” she said before disappearing into the city.
A week later, you were sitting in your apartment, sipping whiskey with Manon while hiding from a pack of paparazzi who had caught you outside a café. What started as a casual text about the record had spiraled into something else entirely.
She sat cross-legged on your worn-out couch, flipping through your vinyl collection with a lazy smile. “You really don’t care about all this, do you?”
“The flashing cameras? The tabloid buzz?” you mused. “Not really. I mean, it’s a little surreal, but you’re just… you.”
She exhaled, relaxing. “I like that.”
And for a while, it was good. Until reality crept in.
So it went, an unusual romance blooming between a quiet vinyl shop owner and a Hollywood star, but dating someone famous wasn’t all stolen moments and whispered secrets. It was dodging paparazzi in alleyways, waking up to your face in gossip columns, strangers dissecting your relationship online.
Just last night, you had booked a secluded part of a restaurant—minimal windows, barely any people. Yet somehow, the paparazzi still got in and if that wasn’t enough, a waiter had kept pestering Manon for a picture, completely ignoring the fact that you were trying to have a normal evening.
The night was ruined.
Afterward, you hadn’t spoken much. She tried to explain, insisting this was inevitable, that she couldn’t escape the spotlight.
“I just want a goddamn normal life and a non-showbiz girlfriend,” you had snapped in frustration.
Her face fell, the words cutting deeper than you had intended. Without another word, she walked out, leaving you alone with your regret.
The next day, armed with a bouquet, you knocked on her hotel door, ready to apologize. But instead of Manon, another woman answered—wearing Manon’s shirt.
Your heart clenched. “Hi, is Manon here?”
Before the woman could respond, Manon appeared, eyes widening when she saw you. She quickly pulled the other woman back inside and stepped into the hallway with you.
“Who the hell was that?” you demanded.
She hesitated. “That was my ex. She showed up causing a scene, and I let her in to calm her down.”
You didn’t believe it. “Really? Wearing your shirt?”
She sighed, exasperated. “It’s not what you think.”
You exhaled sharply and shoved the bouquet into her hands. “You know what? I give up.”
“No!” She grabbed your wrist. “Please, can we just talk?”
You contemplated, then shook your head. “I need to think this through. Can we take a break?”
She swallowed hard but nodded, stepping back into her room.
That night, you found yourself at your sister’s house, breaking down in her arms.
“Oh, darling, everything’s going to be fine,” she soothed.
You sniffled. “It doesn’t feel fine.”
She sighed. “You either accept her for who she is or find someone who fits your idea of normal.”
The words lingered in your mind.
The next day, you dragged yourself to work. It was quiet, save for the occasional customer. As you searched for Manon’s record, someone cleared their throat.
Looking up, you found her standing there—natural hair, no makeup, a soft, hopeful smile.
“Hi,” she said. “Can we talk?”
You led her to the back office.
“So, how was your weekend?” you asked lightly.
“Spent it in my hotel,” she admitted. “Thinking about how I messed up.”
Silence stretched between you before she continued, “I’m leaving today, but I wanted to see you—maybe to remind you that I still like you. A lot.”
You stared at her, heart pounding. “Manon…”
She bit her lip. “I know I come with baggage, but I don’t want to lose you. Maybe we can find a way to make this work?”
You hesitated, but then you thought of her smile, her laugh, the way she felt like home despite the chaos. Maybe your sister was right—you either accept someone for who they are or you walk away.
You reached into the drawer, pulling out a package. “I found something.”
Her brows lifted as she unwrapped it—The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, not signed, but still pristine.
She laughed, teary-eyed. “It’s perfect.”
You grinned. “So, should we give this another shot?”
She nodded, stepping closer. “Yeah. Let’s try.”
And as she kissed you, soft and slow, you knew—you were all in.

જ⁀➴°⋆ Love Me Like A Friend
When Katseye’s main dancer, Daniela Avanzini makes her debut, no one is aware of her secret friends-with-benefits arrangement with chart-topping producer and singer Y/N L/N—a relationship they’ve kept under wraps due to Daniela’s strict no-dating rule. However, as rumors circulate about Y/N’s supposed affairs with other women, and her enigmatic song lyrics appear to reflect Daniela’s mixed signals, tension starts to build. With public speculation intensifying and jealousy brewing behind closed doors, their closely guarded secret is on the verge of unraveling, compelling them to face what they truly mean to one another.
chapter 32 - echo (wc: 1409)
Y/N had never known love the way others did. It came in fragments—applause from fans, praise from friends, fleeting moments of closeness that never quite filled the void her family had left behind. Since the age of seventeen, she had understood that affection was conditional, given in measured doses to her siblings. At the same time, she was left with nothing but silence and occasional material offerings. Love was a transaction she never fully understood until she met Daniela.
Daniela was different. Clingy was affectionate and unafraid to hold Y/N close even when they barely knew each other. It was unfamiliar, but Y/N let it happen, and let Daniela in. With time, the two grew close, and Y/N found comfort in the warmth of her presence. It wasn’t until she visited Daniela’s home that she realized what had been missing all along.
That night, when Daniela invited her over, Y/N had sat at the dining table and watched in quiet astonishment as Daniela’s parents twirled to an old song playing softly in the background. They danced as if nothing outside their little world existed, as if their love had been stitched into their very bones. The warmth in the room was suffocating in a way Y/N wasn’t used to. Watching Daniela lean into her mother’s embrace, laughing as her father ruffled her hair, made something in her chest crack open. It made her realize something she had spent years trying to ignore: she had never been loved like that. And maybe, just maybe, she never would be.
When they graduated, they separated. Y/N went to LA for university, while Daniela auditioned for Dream Academy. They didn’t lose contact—Daniela still texted, still sent videos, still called at ungodly hours just to tell Y/N about her day. But they were worlds apart now, and for the first time since meeting Daniela, Y/N had to learn how to be without her.
College was a blur of reckless indulgence. Y/N’s friends dragged her into a life of parties, of pouring alcohol down her throat just because she could, of late nights spent in strangers’ beds with lips she would never remember. She let herself drown in it. In the thrill, the adrenaline, the way it made her feel like she was something more than just a girl who was never loved enough. Smoking when the stress got too much, making out with half the university when loneliness clawed at her throat. It was easier this way. Easier than wanting something she could never have.
Then Daniela returned.
They fell into old habits, playful teasing with an undertone that had never been there before. Y/N reveled in Daniela’s attention, the way she touched her, and looked at her. It was everything she had never been given before, and it made her ache for more. Their dynamic shifted, from unspoken affection to something physical. No labels. No promises. Just stolen moments in dimly lit rooms, hands tracing familiar paths, lips speaking a language of desire neither dared to name.
But love was never simple.
Y/N stared at the screen, heart hammering against her ribs, fingers tightening around the edges of her phone. Every frame of Daniela’s Instagram story played out like a slow, calculated betrayal. She didn’t even know what to feel. Anger? Sadness? Nothing at all? Maybe she should’ve expected this. Maybe she was foolish to think Daniela would ever keep their deal the way she did. It had always been her, hadn’t it? Always the one dropping everything, rearranging her world just to be where Daniela needed her to be.
But tonight, as she watched Daniela’s carefree smile light up someone else’s apartment, she realized it was never mutual. Maybe it never was.
She shut her phone off and exhaled sharply.
“Fuck this,” she muttered, tossing the device onto the couch beside her.
Her chest ached in a way she refused to acknowledge. It wasn’t supposed to be like this. It was just sex. Just two people meeting at inconvenient hours to fill a void neither of them wanted to name.
It wasn’t supposed to hurt.
It wasn’t supposed to feel like losing something she never even had.
But it did.
And she hated herself for it.
Daniela showed up at her door past midnight, eyes wide, desperate.
“Y/N, please,” she whispered, stepping inside before Y/N could decide whether she wanted to let her in. She smelled like rain and something faintly sweet, a scent Y/N had grown too used to, one she wanted to forget.
Y/N took a step back, arms crossing over her chest. “What do you want, Dani?”
Daniela swallowed, shifting on her feet. “I need to talk to you.”
A bitter laugh left Y/N’s lips. “Right. Now you want to talk.”
Daniela flinched. “Don’t do that. Don’t—don’t act like what we had meant nothing.”
Y/N scoffed, shaking her head. “What we had? You mean this—this fucked up arrangement where I drop everything for you and you get to pretend I don’t exist when it’s convenient?”
“That’s not fair,” Daniela argued. “I never meant to—”
“Never meant to what?” Y/N cut in, voice sharp. “Never meant to make me feel like shit? Never meant to make me fall for you?”
Daniela’s breath hitched.
Silence. Heavy and suffocating.
Then, barely a whisper, “I like you.”
Y/N let out a slow exhale, something in her chest cracking open. But she held herself together, forcing her walls higher. “No, you don’t.”
Daniela’s brows furrowed. “What?”
“You don’t like me, Dani,” Y/N repeated, voice firmer this time. “You just don’t want me to leave.”
Daniela took a step closer, eyes pleading. “That’s not true.”
Y/N shook her head. “What about all the songs, huh? What about the time you broke your own rules?”
Daniela’s lips parted, words dying before they even had a chance to surface.
“They were all platonic,” Y/N continued, voice devoid of emotion. “All friendly, because I didn’t want to cause any drama. And as you said, we’re just friends that please each other.”
Daniela’s hands curled into fists at her sides. “So that’s it? Us just being that? No more than that? Just friends who—who make love to each other from time to time?”
Y/N swallowed the lump in her throat. “Dani, you said it yourself. We don’t love each other. I just fuck you, and you fuck me over.”
The words landed like a slap, Daniela recoiling as if she’d been physically struck.
Tears welled in her eyes, but Y/N didn’t waver. She couldn’t. Not this time. Not when she’d spent too many nights waiting for something that was never coming.
“We both know this situation is out of control,” Y/N said softly, voice gentler now, but still resolute. “Maybe we should break this off.”
Daniela’s head snapped up, panic flashing across her face. “No,” she choked out. “No, please. Y/N, you’re the only one I need.”
Y/N let out a humorless laugh. “Do you even hear yourself?”
“I mean it,” Daniela insisted, stepping forward again, hands reaching for Y/N’s. But Y/N pulled away, a firm barrier between them.
“You only need me when it’s convenient,” Y/N said, voice steady despite the storm raging inside her. “You only want me when you’re scared of being alone.”
“That’s not true,” Daniela whispered.
Y/N gave her a small, sad smile. “It is. And you know it.”
A beat of silence. Then another.
Finally, Daniela exhaled shakily. “So that’s it? You’re just gonna—gonna let me go?”
Y/N nodded. “Yeah.”
Daniela’s eyes searched hers, desperate for something—anything—to hold onto. But Y/N had nothing left to give.
“Please don’t do this,” Daniela begged, voice barely above a whisper. “I don’t know what to do without you.”
Y/N sighed, stepping aside and gesturing toward the door. “Then maybe it’s time you figure it out.”
Daniela stood frozen for a moment, as if waiting for Y/N to change her mind. But she didn’t. She wouldn’t.
With a trembling breath, Daniela turned and walked out of the apartment.
The door clicked shut behind her, and Y/N stood there, exhaling deeply, the weight of everything finally settling onto her shoulders.
It hurt. God, it hurt.
But for the first time in a long time, she chose herself.

In the morning when the day is new?

Summer has always been a time of nostalgia for you, a season of warm breezes and golden memories. This year is no different, except for the weight of anticipation settling in your chest. You are finally back in your hometown, ready to spend your summer with your grandparents, but more than that, you are eager to see your childhood best friend, Sophia Laforteza. It has been years since the two of you last met—busy schedules, distance, and life pulling you in different directions. But now, you have the chance to change that.
The drive is long—ten hours of endless road and fleeting thoughts of what could have been. Your grandparents greet you with warm hugs, the scent of cinnamon rolls filling the air as you step into their home.
"How was your trip, darling?" your grandfather asks, noticing the exhaustion written all over your face.
You sink into the couch, sighing deeply. "Long. Really long."
Your grandmother places a plate of cinnamon rolls in front of you, along with a cold soda—your childhood favorite. The simple gesture brings a sense of home rushing back. You talk for a while, but your mind drifts to Sophia. You haven’t seen her in years, your once constant communication fading under the weight of distance and responsibilities.
The nostalgia hits instantly—your old room is just as you left it, filled with books, posters, and memories frozen in time. Your gaze lands on the bulletin board, eyes lingering on a Polaroid of you and Sophia at your high school graduation. You had wanted to confess to her that day, but fear held you back. Now, you aren’t sure if you still like her in that way or if you just miss her.
The next morning, you ask about the Lafortezas and learn they have moved to another neighborhood closer to Sophia’s college. Determined, you gather small gifts—a bouquet of her favorite flowers, a six-pack for Mr. Laforteza, and your grandmother’s famous banana cake for Mrs. Laforteza. With a mix of nerves and excitement, you knock on their front door.
When the door swings open, you find yourself staring at a breathtakingly matured Sophia—her long hair falling in waves, her features more refined yet still carrying the warmth you remember.
"Hi, Soph! These are for you!" you say, grinning as you extend the bouquet.
Sophia’s brows furrowed in confusion. She doesn’t accept the flowers, nor does she return the expected warm embrace. Instead, she takes a step back, her expression blank.
"MOM! There's some stranger at the door trying to hug me!" she calls out, her voice laced with panic.
Your heart drops.
Mrs. Laforteza comes rushing over, her face lighting up the moment she sees you. “Y/N! Oh my goodness, you should’ve told us you were visiting!” She pulls you into a tight embrace, leaving Sophia to watch, bewildered.
Uhm, can someone explain what’s going on?” Sophia asks, frustration evident in her tone. “And who is she?”
Your heart sinks. You weren’t expecting this.
Sophia’s father sighs. “Sophia, go to your room. We’ll explain everything.”
As she leaves, Mrs. Laforteza leads you to the living room, sympathy in her eyes. “Y/N, I’m so sorry,” she says, voice heavy with emotion. “Sophia had an accident a few years ago. She was actually on her way to surprise you for your 20th birthday when a drunk driver hit them. She suffered a brain injury and lost the ability to make new memories.”
You feel like the floor has been ripped from under you. “But…shouldn’t she still remember me? We grew up together.”
Mrs. Laforteza nods solemnly. “She struggles with accessing older memories, especially the ones she hasn’t revisited in a long time.”
Tears burn at the back of your eyes as you excuse yourself. That night, you cry into your grandmother’s arms, feeling the weight of the past and the helplessness of the present. You lie in bed, staring at old Polaroids of you together, memories that mean everything to you but nothing to Sophia, but as your grandmother’s words echo in your mind—"There’s always a way to make her remember"—an idea sparks.
The next morning, you return to the Lafortezas, a laptop in hand, filled with videos, letters, and keepsakes documenting every moment of your friendship. You sit beside Sophia as her mother plays the footage.
"Hi, Soph! I’m Y/N L/N. Sometimes you call me dork," your recorded voice fills the room.
Sophia watches with wide eyes as the clips play—laughing at your childhood antics, rolling her eyes at your attempts to be funny, and tearing up at the raw sincerity of your shared past.
“That’s you running at me because I threw a volleyball at you,” you narrate. “You were being annoying.”
Sophia lets out a soft chuckle, eyes misty.
“And this was prom night. I brought you ice cream because I punched your date.”
“You what?” she gasps, making you laugh.
“And this,” you say, tapping a Polaroid, “was our graduation. You begged me not to move away.”
"I don’t remember any of this..." she whispers, but you see something flicker in her eyes—an ember of familiarity.
From that day on, you make it your mission to remind Sophia of your bond. Each morning, you reintroduce yourself, showing her your diary, your old letters, your favorite songs. You bring her to your childhood spots—the ice cream parlor where you had your first fight, the lake where you skipped stones for hours.
One day, as you sit by the water, Sophia turns to you. "How many times have I watched that video?"
"Fifteen," you admit with a chuckle.
Sophia hums thoughtfully. "I don’t remember you, but I feel like I should. I feel safe with you."
Those words give you hope.
Weeks pass, and slowly, things start changing. Sophia begins jotting down notes in a journal, reminding herself of you. "Had lunch with Y/N today. She knows exactly how I like my coffee. How?"
Then one evening, as she flips through your old journal, her eyes widen. “Y/N… you liked me?”
Panic surges through you. Shit, I forgot to take that part out.
Before you can respond, she hugs you tightly. “You know, I wouldn’t have minded,” she murmurs. Then, as if it were the most natural thing in the world, she kisses you.
Your brain short-circuits. “Wait—what?”
She grins. “Just saying.”
"You know... I’ve never been against you being my lover," she whispers.
Your brain short-circuits again. "W-What?"
Then, before you can process anything, Sophia kisses you again, but deeper this time.
The next morning, she forgets again, but this time, she wakes up to the sight of a diary filled with her own handwriting and a video waiting for her and every day, you are there, ready to remind her.
Then, one ordinary afternoon, something shifts. You are at the bakery when Sophia frowns, stirring her coffee.
"We were here yesterday."
Your heart pounds. "What?"
Sophia taps her spoon, deep in thought. "I don’t remember much...but I remember this. I remember you."
Tears well in your eyes. "Sophia... do you know who I am?"
Sophia hesitates before reaching across the table, fingers grazing yours. "No...but I want to."
It isn’t perfect. Some days are still blank slates, but now there are threads of continuity, little moments that carry over. And one day, Sophia looks at you, recognition lighting up her eyes.
"I know you," she whispers.
You let out a watery laugh. "Yeah. Yeah, you do."
Sophia holds your hand tighter. "Don’t stop reminding me."
And you never do.
Because love is worth fighting for, even if it has to begin again every morning.
And maybe—just maybe—one day, she won’t forget at all.

With public speculation intensifying and jealousy brewing behind closed doors, their closely guarded secret is on the verge of unraveling, compelling them to face what they truly mean to one another.
chapter 37 - tsunami
Daniela had never been good at saying no. It was in her nature to say yes—to managers, to friends, to strangers who barely knew her name but wanted a piece of her anyway. It was easier that way, easier than disappointing people, easier than explaining why she hesitated when commitment knocked on her door.
But somehow, the one person she could never say yes to was Y/N.
Maybe because saying yes meant giving in to feelings she wasn’t ready to acknowledge. Maybe because letting Y/N in meant watching her leave one day. Maybe because Daniela had never been good at love, at holding on to something real, and she didn’t want to hurt Y/N the way she knew she would.
But she did anyway.
And now, Y/N was gone.
It shouldn’t hurt this much. They were never supposed to be serious—just friends with benefits, just stolen nights and unspoken words. But somewhere along the way, things got messy. Somewhere along the way, Y/N started looking at her like she was something more, and Daniela let her. She let her, knowing she could never offer the same in return.
And yet, when she saw the cold finality in Y/N’s expression that night, it was like the air had been sucked out of her lungs.
Daniela wished she had just stayed in her room. She wished she had ignored the invite, had kept her phone tucked away instead of letting her face be captured in that one picture—the picture that ruined everything. She never knew how powerful the media could be, how a simple misunderstanding could tear her life apart. She had been caught at the park, someone was walking beside her, a guy reaching out to hold her hand, it was nothing, just a friend leading the way, but the internet didn’t see it that way. Neither did Y/N.
But it was never just about that one night.
Daniela had always known Y/N was patient—more patient than she deserved. Y/N had endured every whisper, every grainy instagram story, every moment that should have sent her running. Because Y/N believed in her. Believed in the unspoken explanations, the quiet reassurances, the idea that Daniela would always come back.
And she had.
Until Y/N had enough.
She had never felt this kind of loneliness before.
And the worst part? She hadn’t even realized how much she had been hurting Y/N all along. How every mixed signal, every hesitation, every night spent pretending their feelings weren’t real had chipped away at something fragile.
Y/N had always been good at understanding her. At waiting. But patience had its limits, and Daniela had taken too much for granted.
She didn’t even know if there was a way back.
Her fingers hovered over her messages, muscle memory tempting her to type out something—anything—that could fix this.
But Y/N wouldn’t see it.
Not anymore.
Maybe that was the part that hurt the most.
Daniela had spent so long running from the idea of love, convincing herself that keeping things casual meant she wouldn’t have to lose anything. That keeping Y/N at arm’s length would somehow protect them both.
But now she knew better.
Love wasn’t just about holding on—it was about showing up.
And she had failed.
The city outside her window blurred as she fought back tears, her mind looping the same memories over and over—late-night drives, shared laughter, Y/N’s hand on hers, the way she always knew when Daniela needed comfort without her having to say a word.
There was no one else she wanted.
No one else who made her feel the way Y/N did.
She had been a coward.
Daniela had spent so much time convincing herself she didn’t need Y/N.
Now, she wasn’t sure how to exist without her.
She let out a breath, shaky and uneven, gripping her phone tighter. Y/N was done with her. That much was clear.
But Daniela had never been the kind of person to give up easily.
And she wasn’t about to start now.

chapter 39 - make me fall in love again (wc: 970)

The song was so loud it rattled the glass of her window.
Y/N blinked, torn from the soft melody of her own cover, the reverb of the outside music pounding through her walls. She reached for her phone, heart-stopping when she saw the notification.
Manon replied to your tweet: "DANI’S THE ONE PLAYING THAT DUMBASS, GO OUT!"
Y/N shot up from her bed, pulse thrumming. Dani? Here? Now? The same Dani who had broken her heart, who had sent every mixed signal imaginable? The same Dani who had spent weeks making it clear that Y/N was nothing more than a passing fling?
The song was deafening, even through the walls of her apartment. Y/N clenched her jaw. She had told Daniela she was done, that she was moving on.
But there she was outside.
Standing in the pouring rain, making a scene like a lovesick idiot, a speaker cradled in her arms, drenched from head to toe. Rainwater dripped from her clothes, soaking the concrete beneath her feet, but she didn’t care.
The song played on repeat, the one Y/N used to hum under her breath when she thought no one was listening—the one Daniela teased her about, called their song. Y/N swallowed down the lump rising in her throat, grip tightening on the door handle.
Y/N yanked open the door, her breath catching in her throat at the sight before her.
Daniela stood there, drenched to the bone, rainwater dripping from her lashes, her grip tight around a speaker blaring the song that had once been theirs. The chorus played on repeat, each lyric a gut punch, a reminder of everything they’d lost.
“Are you fucking crazy? It’s raining! You’ll get sick!”
“I don’t care,” Daniela said, her voice hoarse, raw. “I need to talk to you.”
Y/N exhaled sharply, glancing at the way Daniela’s arms shook, the way her lips quivered from the cold. “You’re already shaking, Dani. Can you at least come inside?”
Daniela shook her head, hair clinging to her forehead in wet strands. “This is more romantic.”
Y/N scoffed. “You look like a drowned cat. This is insane.”
“Then let me be insane,” Daniela said, stepping closer, rainwater dripping from her lashes as she locked eyes with Y/N. “Let me be a mess. Let me tell you what I should’ve told you before.”
Y/N didn’t move, didn’t stop her. Didn’t look away.
Daniela inhaled shakily. “I was an idiot, Y/N. A selfish, careless idiot. I took you for granted, I gave you every mixed signal possible because I thought if I pushed you away first, it wouldn’t hurt so bad when you left.” She clenched her jaw, exhaling sharply. “But you did leave. And it hurt like hell anyway.”
Y/N swallowed hard, the weight of Daniela’s words pressing against her chest.
Y/N’s chest tightened, memories clawing their way back—late nights tangled in sheets, words unspoken between them, the way Daniela’s touch lingered long after she was gone.
“All those times I made you feel like you weren’t enough like you were just some temporary thing—I hate myself for that. I was scared, Y/N. I was terrified of how much you meant to me. So I ran. I convinced myself I could keep things simple, but you were never just something simple.” Daniela’s voice cracked, her hands trembling around the waterlogged speaker. “I tried to push my feelings down, tried to pretend like this wasn’t real, but it was. It is.”
Daniela swallowed. “Those IG stories? They were just friends. I was asking for advice. Because I didn’t know what to do with this—” she gestured between them, voice breaking. “I was so scared of losing you that I ended up pushing you away instead. And that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever done.”
The song looped again, crackling from the rain-soaked speaker, but neither of them moved to stop it.
“I don’t expect you to forgive me,” Daniela said, her voice softer now, heavy with the weight of everything she had left unsaid. “But I had to tell you. Because I do like you, Y/N. I always have. And if there’s even the smallest part of you that still feels the same, tell me.”
Y/N exhaled shakily, the cold pressing in around her, but Daniela’s words burned through, warm and desperate. She wanted to be angry. She wanted to slam the door, make her feel the ache she had felt when Daniela let her walk away. But she couldn’t. Not when Daniela was standing there, drenched and vulnerable, for the first time truly letting herself be seen.
Y/N’s lips parted, her voice barely above a whisper. “Make me fall in love again.”
Daniela’s breath hitched, hope flickering in her eyes like a flame against the storm. And then, before Y/N could say another word, she stepped forward, closing the space between them in a heartbeat.
The kiss was soft, tentative at first—then deeper, hungrier, the taste of rain and salt and everything Daniela had been too afraid to say before. Y/N felt herself melt, fingers curling into the damp fabric of Daniela’s sweater, pulling her in like she was afraid to let go.
Daniela sighed against her lips, whispering between kisses, “I won’t mess this up again. I swear.”
Y/N pulled back just enough to look at her, a small smile breaking through. “You’re still an idiot.”
Daniela let out a breathless laugh. “Yeah. But I’m your idiot.”
Y/N rolled her eyes, but she didn’t pull away. Instead, she grabbed Daniela’s wrist, tugging her inside. “Come in before you get hypothermia.”
As the door shut behind them, the storm raged on outside—but inside, for the first time in a long time, there was warmth.

chapter 14 - JEALOUS DANI + semi-written ( wc: 632 )
cw: suggestive

The tension between y/n and daniela had been brewing all night, each of them poking at the raw edges of the other's insecurities. Sabrina's name had been thrown around too many times, and the shadow of daniela's ex-boyfriend loomed over the conversation like a storm cloud, soaking every word in bitterness.
y/n barely got the door unlocked before daniela pushed her way inside, her expression an electric mix of anger and something else—something far more dangerous. Her hair framed her flushed face, and her eyes gleamed with an intensity that made y/n's chest tighten.
daniela closed the distance in a heartbeat, her lips crashing against y/n's with a force that stole her breath. It wasn’t gentle, and it wasn’t soft—it was a collision of frustration, longing, and unspoken words. The heat of her kiss melted through the anger, and y/n's hands instinctively found her waist, steadying her.
Her fingers curled into the fabric of y/n's shirt, tugging her closer as though proximity alone could drown out the storm that had brought them both here. Her lips were insistent, demanding, and when she pulled back for a brief second, her breath came in short, uneven bursts.
“You’re mad at me,” she whispered, her voice low and ragged, her eyes searching yours.
“And you’re impossible,” y/n shot back, but the edge in her voice was softened by the way her hands tightened around daniela's waist, pulling her closer instead of pushing her away. “You can’t keep doing this, dani.”
Her gaze faltered for a split second before she leaned in again, her lips finding yours in a kiss that was almost desperate. It wasn’t just passion—it was a plea, a silent apology, and a challenge all at once. y/n felt her fingers slip beneath her shirt, grazing the bare skin of her back, and a shiver ran through her.
“Do you ever stop being a brat?” y/n muttered against her lips, but the words lacked venom. They came out breathless, y/n's voice betraying the war between her anger and her desire.
“Do you ever stop being so stubborn?” daniela shot back, her lips brushing y/n's even as she spoke.
y/n hated how much she wanted her right now—hated the way daniela unraveled her with a single look, a single touch. The anger simmered beneath the surface, but it was quickly being consumed by something deeper, something hotter.
y/n's hands slid to daniela's hips, gripping her tightly as she pushed her back a step until she hit the edge of the kitchen counter. Her breath hitched, and for a moment, the only sound in the room was the rapid cadence of their breathing. y/n leaned in, her forehead resting against hers, her voice a low, possessive murmur.
“Is this what you want, Dani?” y/n asked, her thumb brushing over her cheek. “Or are you going to run back to him the second this gets hard?”
daniela's eyes widened at the question, and for a split second, vulnerability flickered across her face. But instead of pulling away, she grabbed y/n's shirt, her fingers curling into the fabric as she pulled you closer.
“I’m here, aren’t I?” she whispered, her voice breaking slightly. “I’m here with you.”
That was all the answer y/n needed. The frustration, the jealousy, the lingering doubt—it all melted away as y/n kissed her again, deeper this time, her hands slipping beneath the hem of daniela's shirt to feel the warmth of her skin. y/n wanted to claim every inch of her, to replace every touch, every memory that wasn’t yours.
Her breath hitched as y/n lips trailed along her jaw, down to her neck, where y/n pressed a kiss that was both tender and possessive. Her hands tightened around y/n, and y/n could feel the way she trembled beneath her touch.
