So I've decided to continue writing in the universe I've set up in a previous story. This time, it's a little exploration of what it looks like when Janeway and Seven got their shit together, but someone's head has to catch up to their heart.

Smut, Fluff, Angst, we got it all. Also featuring some supreme daftness from our Captain and Seven being her usual witty self. Kathryn's gotta figure some stuff out, ok? But she gets to figure it out with Seven, so it's alright. They'll just have to fuck about it.

Reverse Psychology by Wonko Seven has a crush. Janeway is aware of it. Seven knows they could never be together. Kathryn takes slight offense to that. As I Lay Me Down To Sleep by Virago (explicit) After losing a few crewmen, Kathryn finds sleep ever elusive, with the constant threat of thundering nightmares. Seven offers her services to watch over her and wake her if anything happens. The Captain's Hands by Virago Seven finds herself hyper-aware of the Captain's hands.

I love this moment so much! I still remember seeing it for the first time when the episode first aired on TV. As J7 shipper it was so incredible getting a scene like this, Kathryn and Seven sitting so closely and intimately together on Janeway's sofa in her quarters. Even with other in the room didn't diminish their intimacy in any way, oddly enough it only enhanced it. Because they were comfortable enough with each other (if you believed them to be in a romantic relationship by this point or not) to allow basically their friends/family to see the open affection they have for each other. I love how Kathryn is relaxed, lounging next Seven almost close enough to lay her head on Seven's shoulder. Damn it they just look so spectacular together.

I especially like the end when their taking the Voyager family picture, where Seven just happens to place herself and how Janeway look up at her before she turns and smiles at the camera. I don't care what anyone said their canon.

I deeply dislike the voyager fandom trope where Kathryn is everyone's mom and Chakotay is the dad. (I love found family, I hate "nuclearized" found family) That woman is NOT everyone's mother. She is however Harry's mother. Which is even funnier because from what we know, Harry seems to have a perfectly healthy and good relationship with his actual mom. He did NOT need to be adopted by an insane middle-aged woman but BOOM now he's got mommy issues and it's literally his boss.
