"Do you even know what this means?"
This is a continuation of "Just in case this doesn't work," where I explore bisexual Dana Scully and the possible throuple. Sorry to the hardcore MSR shippers out there. This is just for fun and I hope some of you like it.
Or you can find it here. Yay for ao3!
Prompt #4 - "Do you even know what this means?"
Tumblr media
4.
The simple fact is that Jenna is perfect for them. She is sexy and confident, well-spoken, the top in her field in cancer research, and craves the privacy that both Mulder and Scully desire from this particular arrangement.
The couple had agreed on a sign if things were going badly. A pull on the earlobe and clearing of the throat means “this is not working out! Abort mission immediately!” But instead of needing the signal, the drive home was filled with talk about how wonderful Jenna is, how they couldn’t have found a more perfect third.
The next day they call Jenna.
“Hi, it’s Katherine.” They had decided on using middle names.
“Oh, hi Katherine. I’m so glad you called,” Jenna’s  voice says on the other end. “I had a very nice time with you and William yesterday.”
“So did we, Jenna,” Scully agrees. “We were wondering if you’d like to meet next weekend. Maybe we could all have some fun together.”
Scully had thought that inviting a woman into their bed would be more difficult, filled with anxiety and a stomach full of butterflies, like your very first kiss on a first date. But she found that this was surprisingly easy. Or, that perhaps, she would feel jealous at the thought of Mulder touching another woman. She wasn’t sure if it was Mulder’s firm hand on her back, the maturity that comes with age and experience, or the way Jenna made her feel at ease. Scully wanted this. Wanted Jenna and to watch Mulder fuck her.
“I would love that,” Jenna says, and Scully could hear the smile in her voice.
Scully nods at Mulder, who is planting soft kisses on her neck and pushing his erect penis into her thigh. They are both so ready.
5.
The hotel room is small, tasteful. Mulder used an alias when booking and will pay cash at check out. Scully is wearing only a satin robe, for ease once their activities start.
Mulder is in a white t-shirt and jeans, hoping to not seem too eager or deviant when Jenna arrives. He lays on the bed next to Scully, rubbing a teasing finger between her legs, her thighs falling to the side with each stroke.
“You’re going to make me finish before we’ve even started,” Scully rasps.
“What’s wrong with that?” Mulder asks. “It’d be sexy. A little preview of what’s to come… so to speak.”
“Do you even know what this means?” Scully asked. Off Mulder’s confused look she said, “We might be in a throuple.”
“No,” Mulder chuckled, kissing the top of her head. “I only have room in my heart for one woman.”
His fingers continued to spread her slickness over his finger and around her pussy, making her arch slightly off the bed. She was already so turned on and ready for more. Scully reached up to kiss Mulder while she palmed his erection.
That’s when there came a knock at the door. Mulder stood and crossed the room while Scully arranged herself, wanting to appear somewhat propper before she and Mulder make love to this woman. First appearances, sexual or otherwise, are important.
Jenna walks into the room with a sense of calm and confidence that makes Scully sure she has done this before. It’s comforting to know that she has some experience, isn’t a novice, and, hopefully, won’t become too attached to either her or Mulder. Among many things, they had agreed that leaving feelings at the door is one of their top priorities. This is, after all, about sexual pleasure and only that.
“Hello,” she says in her sultry voice. “Are we ready to get started?”
“I think so,” Mulder says with equal parts excitement and nervousness in his voice.
Scully smiles, and crosses the room to meet them, says, “Absolutely,” and reaches up to give Jenna a lingering kiss.
Jenna’s hands land on Scully’s hips, massaging through the soft fabric of the robe. Scully moans softly and pulls away. She bites her lip, looking into Jenna’s eyes. Then she looks at Mulder, guiding Jenna to him. Mulder takes the hint and meets Jenna the rest of the way, bending to brush his lips over Jenna’s plush mouth.
To be continued...

🍼🌼🔪👑 + Katherine?
and thank you again for the ones for kat!!!
🍼 Does your OC have any children or want children? What names would they pick? Are they good with kids or a complete disaster?
she doesn’t have kids within the timeline of rdr2 and as often as she fantasizes about settling down with arthur and raising some little munchkins, the two are never financially stable enough to actually do that...and then arthur dies...after she leaves the van der linde gang she might go on and find someone to settle with, but i haven’t really flushed out that part of her story yet lmao. but she is good with kids! if she weren’t running with a gang of criminals she probably would be a schoolteacher or music tutor.
🌼 Write a short drabble from your OCs POV meeting their LI (or if they don’t have a love interest, their best friend. If you don’t want to do a drabble, describe their first meeting instead!)
oogh i don’t have the brain-power atm to do a propper minific, but their first meeting arthur held a gun to her head.
she had sweet-talked her way into acting as a tutor for a rich cattle baron’s children, and she was slowly schmoozing him into giving her at least some of his money. she wasn’t quite at mistress levels yet (but she was getting close, at which point she would duck and run with whatever fancy gifts/jewelry/silverware he had), but when dutch and arthur had robbed the man, they assumed she was. they held her hostage, and upon realizing the man wasn’t home, kidnapped her for ransom. she knew they weren’t going to hurt her though. she didn’t pose a threat to dutch and she could tell that arthur was too good a man to just shoot a lady. what they didn’t expect was her to help them rob the guy. if they let her help and give her a cut, she’d show them where his safes and lockboxes are and she’ll open them up. the ransom/robbery ends up successful and after riding off into the night with their pockets and purses much heavier, she and dutch negotiate a place for her within the gang. she rides back to camp with arthur on his horse and he helps get her set up and apologizes rather awkwardly for pointing a gun at her, but she just smiles at him and is just like “oh, it’s quite alright, herr morgan. i knew you weren’t going to shoot me.”
and then sometime later hosea comes in to speak with her because after talking with dutch about the circumstances under which she joined, he saw her for what she is (a con artist). and while he’s not sure what her motivations are exactly,  he gives her a very stern talking to about him not tolerating any kind of funny business.
🔪 Has your OC ever killed someone? Ever had to defend themselves against violence? How did this make them feel? Or, alternatively, has your OC ever attacked someone? Seen someone die?
she has! it’s almost exclusively been in self defense (save for at least one...maybe two poisonings), but she’s got blood on her hands, just the same as most of the vdl gang. she’d much rather talk her way out of a given situation rather than stab or shoot someone, but sometimes luck doesn’t go her way and she’s had to hurt some people (but in her defense, they’re usually bad men and deserve it)
👑 If your OC was made royal (or is royal) how would they use their power? Are they a good leader or bad? Do their subjects like them or is it ‘off with their head’? Do they enjoy being royal?
ohhhh i mean she’d probably use at least a little of that power selfishly to be honest...nice dresses, a big home that’s lavishly furnished, a library and high end instruments, daily baths...she would treat herself to all the luxurious frivolity she would otherwise never be able to afford. but she isn’t without compassion and i think she would at the very least try to rule well. she knows firsthand the kind of suffering that can happen under a monarchy and i think she’d try to work to make sure others don’t suffer the same kind of hardships she had as a child/young adult, but also i think having so much power would stress her out. she doesn’t want to be responsible for that many people, and even though i think for the most part she’d be well liked, there will always be those who oppose the crown, and she would rather die than have someone not like her :/

The Fall Guy

He’s a stuntman, and like everyone in the stunt community, he gets blown up, shot, crashed, thrown through windows and dropped from the highest of heights, all for our entertainment. And now, fresh off an almost career-ending accident, this working-class hero has to track down a missing movie star, solve a conspiracy and try to win back the love of his life while still doing his day job. What could possibly go right?
I Saw The TV Glow
I Saw The TV Glow, the new movie from Jane Schoenbrun, is out today.
Teenager Owen is just trying to make it through life in the suburbs when his classmate introduces him to a mysterious late-night TV show — a vision of a supernatural world beneath their own. In the pale glow of the television, Owen’s view of reality begins to crack.
The Roundup: Punishment
The Roundup: Punishment, the new movie from Heo Myeong Haeng, is out today.
Detective Ma Seok-do joins the Cyber Investigation Team to nab Baek Chang-ki, a former mercenary and the head of an online gambling organization.
Evil Does Not Exist
Evil Does Not Exist, the new movie from Ryûsuke Hamaguchi, is out today.
In the rural alpine hamlet of Mizubiki, not far from Tokyo, Takumi and his daughter, Hana, lead a modest life gathering water, wood, and wild wasabi for the local udon restaurant. Increasingly, the townsfolk become aware of a talent agency’s plan to build an opulent glamping site nearby, offering city residents a comfortable “escape” to the snowy wilderness. When two company representatives arrive and ask for local guidance, Takumi becomes conflicted in his involvement, as it becomes clear that the project will have a pernicious impact on the community.
Lost Soulz
Lost Soulz, the new movie from Katherine Propper, is out today.
When aspiring rapper Sol is discovered by a group of Gen-Z musicians after performing at a house party, he joins their tour through the heart of Texas and embarks on a once-in-a-lifetime road trip. Sol and his new collaborators bond over their shared pains and longings from the lives they left behind. Bold and brash, yet surprisingly sensitive and vulnerable, these young artists pour their souls into the music they create together. The novelty of Sol’s newfound family fades as the demons Sol left behind come back to haunt him, including his guilt over abandoning his ailing friend. His sense of self is put to the ultimate test as he seeks refuge from the rootlessness and loss that has defined his existence.
Slow
Slow, the new movie from Marija Kavtaradze, is out today.
Dancer Elena and sign language interpreter Dovydas meet and form a beautiful bond. As they dive into their new relationship, the dynamic changes when Dovydas reveals that he is asexual. Slow is the story of two people exploring how to build their own kind of intimacy.
Tarot
Tarot, the new movie from Spenser Cohen and Anna Halberg, is out today.
When a group of friends recklessly violates the sacred rule of Tarot readings – never use someone else’s deck – they unknowingly unleash an unspeakable evil trapped within the cursed cards. One by one, they come face to face with fate and end up in a race against death to escape the future foretold in their readings.
Wildcat
Wildcat, the new movie from Ethan Hawke, is out today.
Directed and co-written by four-time Academy Award nominee Ethan Hawke, WILDCAT invites the audience to weave in and out of celebrated Southern Gothic writer Flannery O’Connor’s mind as she ponders the great questions of her writing: Can scandalous art still serve God? Does suffering precede all greatness? Can illness be a blessing? In 1950, Flannery (Maya Hawke) visits her mother Regina (Laura Linney) in Georgia when she is diagnosed with lupus at twenty-four years old. Struggling with the same disease that took her father’s life when she was a child and desperate to make her mark as a great writer, this crisis pitches her imagination into a feverish exploration of belief. As she dives deeper into her craft, the lines between reality, imagination, and faith begin to blur, allowing Flannery to ultimately come to peace with her situation and heal a strained relationship with her mother.
Unfrosted
Unfrosted, the new movie from Jerry Seinfeld, is out today.
Michigan, 1963. Kellogg’s and Post, sworn cereal rivals, race to create a pastry that will change the face of breakfast. A tale of ambition, betrayal, sugar, and menacing milkmen, Unfrosted stars Jerry Seinfeld in his directorial debut.
Mars Express
Mars Express, the new movie from Jérémie Périn, is out today.
In 2200, private detective Aline Ruby and her android partner Carlos Rivera are hired by a wealthy businessman to track down a notorious hacker.
On Mars, they descend deep into the underbelly of the planet’s capital city where they uncover a darker story of brain farms, corruption, and a missing girl who holds a secret about the robots that threatens to change the face of the universe.
Fearless Movement
Fearless Movement, the new album from Kamasi Washington, is out today.

Berkreviews LOST SOULZ @ Tribeca 2023
#tribeca2023
Lost Soulz is director Katherine Propper’s debut feature film that shines at times and suffers from a consistent film language. Sol (Suave Sidle) is an up-and-coming rapper who is showcasing his talent at a party. His performance catches the attention of Nina (Krystall Poppin) who manages a band of other rappers and performers who are currently heading to a big show in Texas. When cops bust up…

Festivals : Indie Grits 2019 - Southern Scenes Block (2019)
Tumblr media
As a cast member of I AM TX, it’s a good feeling to know that your film has been accepted into multiple festivals.  Your friends and collaborators will more than likely always have something positive to say about your work, but getting an impartial and honest opinion from those without personal investment is always a bonus.  I AM TX found itself in the Indie Grits Fest block dedicated to short films made by directors based in the south, and I could not have been happier to be grouped with such high quality work.
Tumblr media
The Derby, directed by Remington Smith, focuses on the 2017 Kentucky Derby and its impact on both attendees and locals.  The behind the scenes look is one that Churchill Downs does not normally share, as we get the chance to talk to vendors, those who care for the grounds and animals, attendees who spend their time in the infield, and the crowd that hangs out in Millionaire’s Row on the 6th floor.  The film ultimately serves as a brief microcosm of America itself, with the distinction between the haves and the have-nots being painfully clear.  The documentary is wonderfully shot, with a handful of memorable moments that will stick with you long after your viewing is complete.
Tumblr media
Shannon Silva’s Shoot The Duck is a lighthearted short film focused on a skating competition where competitors see who can ‘shoot the duck’ the longest.  The cast is almost entirely made up of children and young teenagers, the skating rink location lends itself to colorful backgrounds and expressive lighting, and the anticipation of taking part in a competition is captured without being overly dramatic.  While not a piece that could be extrapolated into feature length, Shoot The Duck is perfectly fine being what it is as a short narrative, and could easily find itself placed on television or in tandem with a major network that makes content for young people.
Tumblr media
Of all the shorts in this block, Street Flame really and truly spoke to me.  Austin-based director Katherine Propper took a group of young Austin skaters and graffiti writers, gave them a platform to be themselves, and added a story about loss and dealing with the grieving process that accompanies losing someone close to you.  The film felt incredibly natural, the story hit me right in the feels, and at the conclusion of the short, I felt like wanting to watch it again.  Definitely one I’ll be keeping tabs on well after I leave the Indie Grits Fest.
Tumblr media
Will Berry’s Nashedonia, at just four short minutes, was a pure rush of blood to the head.  The humor of the film was incredibly sharp, the non-native perspective of a place as cherished as Nashville, Tennessee was refreshing, and the compisition of the film being shot in frame with an innovate captioning style all stood out amongst the rest of the films in the block.  This is the kind of short that would make Jim Jarmusch jealous.
Tumblr media
To West End, With Love is director/writer Melissa Alexander’s love letter to the West End of Atlanta, Georgia, done in a style that, while echoing films like Slacker, manages to have its own unique flare and energy.  Told in three parts with minimal spoken dialogue, the film stands as a line in the sand against the practice of gentrification that is erasing similar neighborhoods nationwide.  The visual diary presentation puts you square in the passenger seat with the subjects of the film, and the three stories are all unique enough to show the range and diversity that exists in the West End, while being connected enough to stand together as parts of a greater whole.  Black and white was also a great choice, as it gives the film a timeless feel.
Tumblr media
As In Death, a documentary by Mark Raafat Kammel, focuses on former 911 operator Sidney Brodie and the Durham Homicide & Memorial Quilt, a project he started in 1996 that (sadly) continues to this day.  Whenever a homicide occurs in the Durham area, Brodie sews a new piece onto the quilt with the victim’s name, and the quilt is often presented at funerals and community gatherings to put a visual representation to the senseless violence that plagues not only Durham, but the nation at large.  The true heartbreak of the story, outside of the violence, is what the quilt did to Brodie’s marriage, and how his commitment to bettering life for everyone has locked in his commitment to the quilt.  Quite the compelling and thought-provoking documentary, if I do say so myself.
Tumblr media
Whistle Down Wind, a collaborative effort between Julia Christgau and Andie Morgenlander, is a love story about being unafraid to untether yourself from the things that hold you back from following your passions.  The story is an extremely personal one, told mostly in close-ups and intimate moments between the two principal actors, with a narrative arc that finds itself to be uplifting, heartbreaking, uplifting again, and heartbreaking again all in the span of a few minutes.  The love story between the two women is a painful one, as they are forced to hide their love, only for the moment they can embrace to be subverted by the status quo.  The final shot and its subtlety will stick with me for a long, long time.
youtube
Charlotte Taylor was handed the extremely tough task of rounding out the Southern Scenes block, but she more than stood up to the task with The Fields Lay Fallow, a music video in the form of a short film for artist Nomadic War Machine.  The piece focuses on a group of mysterious women performing a set of rituals deep in the woods, capped off by a celebration of wildness when a stranger unfortunately stumbles into their midst.  The music is strong, the visuals are stark, and the impression the piece leaves on you was pitch perfect as a way to end out a round of incredibly strong material.
If the Southern Scenes block is any indication of what I am in for in terms of overall quality, then I cannot put the excitement of anticipation I feel into words.  There is quite a bit on my schedule for the next few days, so stay tuned for my thoughts on all that I have the pleasure to view while at Indie Grits Fest 2019.

Note
did you see patriots day? you seem to know more than me, but was the Katherine Russell (the one portrayed by melissa benoist) white/christian and converted or did the movie just door an entirely poor casting job and not seek out someone who was the propper race? i know they mention in the film being christian earlier in life & couldn't find a lot of stuff on google to satisfy my curiousity
i def did not see patriots day and have no desire to. the character melissa is playing was indeed a white woman who converted, but that still doesn’t make it okay. she still put on a hijab and played a muslim woman when she’s NOT. and even if we deemed that to be acceptable, the whole point is that the movie should’ve never been made in the first place. we keep making these bullshit movies and in the current climate, everyone who’s part of that project should be ashamed that they contributed to the islamophobia in this country. like!!! why did we need this movie!!! hint!!! we didn’t!!!
