Ok so maybe it’s just me but I have a lot of thoughts about specifically Annleigh + Kateva post-canon

For one thing, I love Annleigh but I also think that she definitely showed some signs in the show of having some homophobic beliefs that she needs to fix, but bc I say so she gets over it eventually, it just maybe takes a bit (but it helps now that she’s actually friends with the rest of the squad, all of whom are queer in some capacity)

So she’s going on this arc of overcoming her homophobic beliefs, and in the meantime, Kateva is being gay and falling in love, and Annleigh is sort of uncomfortable with it for a while, but she starts to get over it and her friendship really blossoms with both of them (mostly Eva imo but that’s another story)

She really starts getting close to them second semester of their senior year, at which point they’ve been together for roughly 6 months (I get why PMA had them be together in Finale but also I think realistically it took longer than that, you cannot tell me that Kate was stable enough for a relationship if she still had a bandage on her leg [also something I have thoughts on], I think they got together at the earliest late July) and they’re at the point of “I love you” and they’re planning on going to college together and all that fun stuff, and Annleigh is happy for them but also she’s kind of sad when she sees them and it takes her a while to realize why-

But it’s because of Clark, because that was supposed to be them, high school sweethearts who are so in love and are so happy and are going to spend the rest of their lives together

I have no other actual thoughts with this, this is just my long winded way of saying: I think post canon, Kate and Eva’s relationship is really really bittersweet for Annleigh (something she never tells them, they don’t deserve to have to deal with her complicated thoughts about their relationship) because that was supposed to be her and Clark

i have a lot thoughts about annleigh! (but i don't think post-canon a lot because i usually i think a lot about the stabs happened but nobody dies au)

controversial take i think annleigh isn't homophobic but she thinks she has to hate the beautiful love some people have because people told her to but she doesn't want to (and i headcanon her to autistic as well as several other characters) so she is very conflicted about what to do. and that's what the scene in the musical is to me after several times of watching it is to me. cause she never answers cairo besides the 'i mean-' and the script says she is struggling to word her response.

sorry ranting about the cheer stepsisters incoming: also i feel she started trying to unlearning those beliefs when/if farrah came out to her (since pma said farrah is unlabeled) and annleigh is the 1st person farrah came out to especially in their family. and it happened when annleigh asking farrah if she a crush anyone (iykyk who it is i have farrah have a crush on) which would be like a month before the sleepover. end of rant. so with that in play in my mind she was already trying to unlearn the beliefs during the events of the show.

annleigh becoming friends with kate and eva is something i love so much! i get what you mean with kateva getting together. but ouch kateva reminding annleigh about her and clark. i feel if she told them that they remind her of her and clark they would understand especially kate that its going to hurt annleigh a lil bit to see them happy but also annleigh tries to tell them she is so happy for them
