Can't believe people say that you can't make an interesting lawful good character as if Kate Littlejohn doesn't exist

Kate Littlejohn was an especially great character!
I liked how reserved she was at first. A typical perfectionist/workaholic who only cared about justice and rules. And how over the top organised Kate's office ( and everything about her ) was!! A. MA. ZING. Never got old. Also, Jay being afraid of defending a case against Littlejohn because of her eye for detail combined with her brutal honesty, that was fun. But the best part: Kate still giving Jay good, earnest advice. Her attitude to coworkers and her disciple were intriguing.
Kate really was the best lawyer of them all.
When Kate told Sandra why she chose the career she has, that was the exact moment I decided Kate Littlejohn was my favourite character from the show. It was in my opinion one of the best scenes that showcased Littlejohn as a person instead of as a caricature of a well organised workaholic. This scene made Kate a lot more lovable or at least understandable for the audience.
Littlejohn went from sending Seth and Lennard out of her office, to voluntarily entering Seth's office to talk, a big difference which showcases an emotional growth. Kate's dedication to her job still never wavered (which paid off in the end).
Kate also kept her (very early) morning routine dedicated to her job until the end. But she has been known to skip it from time to time to have fun with her girlfriend. This showcases the groth again. But not once was Littlejohn not actually on time, which I happily note because it shows that the writers did not change her into a completely other person.
I really enjoyed the character of Kate Littlejohn. And again, Kate Littlejohn was just the best lawyer of them all.
I love For the People because it is written like an early 2000s police drama, but it was made in 2018 so they just casually have gay characters and donât make entire episode revolving around sexuality

First Meetings
(Well I said I'd do it and I'm doing it. Kyvis Origin story, starting now. I've posted one or two other parts of this story here and there, so I'm gonna do a master post at some point! But for now, here's a link to the second part, and here's the first story! Set in a semi-futuristic world, but not so futuristic as to be unfamiliar)
Kate Davis considered herself a professional of her trade. Not necessarily the best, of courseânot yet. Sheâd never done a job that was truly legendary, that would have others talking about it for years to come. But she was quick and smart, and hadnât been really caught or seen for years.
Which was a good thing in her trade, which was that of a thief.
Frankly, Kate had never considered herself much good at anything else. Sheâd tried other things, and was currently barely holding down a job at the Starbucks near her house. But, as with the others, she knew she wasnât long for it. If for no other reasons than she was terrible at customer service, and tended to blow off work for her real job. And truth be told, nothing made her light up like the thrill of cracking a safe, slipping past guards, breaking into a house that was far too fancy for her to ever set foot in otherwise.
It helped that her targets were almost exclusively the rich, arrogant, and corrupt. There was something satisfying about taking from people like that. Her boyfriend, Derek, didnât seem to see it the same way. Heâd told her on many occasions that she should do jobs with his gang, that he was working where the money was. Kate had just laughed at himâshe didnât let other people choose her jobs.
Hence why she was currently picking the lock on the office door of a senator who was not only the proud owner of three houses, but was a bit of a creep as well. Heâd been at the Starbucks where sheâd worked a few days back, and Kate had seen him hitting on her co-workerâa shy girl who was just out of high school, making her easily a quarter of the senatorâs age. Sheâd gotten his name off of the order, and it hadnât taken long to formulate a plan against him.
The lock clicked, and Kate let herself into the office. Getting into the building had been embarrassingly easy, and she knew for a fact that the senator was out on a lunch break. That didnât mean she was going to sit around and wait for him to return, though. She had too much professional pride for that.
The safe was situated at the back corner of his office, not obscured by a thing. Kate rolled her eyes and knelt next to it. âYour owner is a moron,â she muttered to it, getting to work on the lock.
A few minutes later, it clicked open, revealing the contents. Allowing herself a smirk, Kate unzipped one of the pockets in her backpack and began filling it with stacks of cash.
She was halfway finished when she heard voices outside the door. Oh, noâheâs not supposed to be back yet. Smacking the safe door shut, Kate yanked the zipper closed. Slinging the backpack over her shoulder, she made a snap decision and darted forward just as the door opened.
She made it behind the door as it swung open, admitting two men. Neither of them was the senator, but both were talking animatedly, and didnât notice as Kate moved. âYeah, apparently thereâs supposed to be some kind of robbery here today. Thatâs why all those law enforcement guys are here. Weird, right?â
âYou can say that again,â agreed the other man as Kate caught hold of the door knob before it could fall closed. Silently, she eased it open again. âCanât imagine what theyâd steal from here.â
The first man snorted. âTry not to make it so obvious that youâre new. Now, what did Senator Littlejohn want from here again?â
Kate didnât wait to hear the response. Slipping through the doorway, she let the door drop closed as she turnedâand ran smack into someone.
Stumbling backwards, she caught a brief impression of a man wearing a button down shirt and a frown. Oh, crap.
âYouâre not supposed to be up hereââ he started, and Kate cut him off by doing the only thing she could think of. She punched him in the face with a satisfying crack, and took off down the hall.
She heard shouts behind her, but didnât stop. At least, she didnât stop until she careened around the corner and came face to face with another man. This one, unfortunately, was holding a gun.
âGood afternoon, miss,â he said, his voice mild and polite, with what sounded like a British accent. âWould you mind putting your hands in the air? Iâm afraid youâre under arrest.â
Kate held back a groan, but did what he said. Double crap. Just when I say what I did about not getting caught.
Her backpack was taken, and she handcuffed and led down the hall to a meeting room, empty except for a table and two chairs. Kate was cuffed to one of them, while the man whoâd stopped her took the one across from her.
âIâll admit, it was mostly good luck we caught you,â he said conversationally. He was older, with graying brown hair, and was dressed in a neat, inexpensive suit. âNone of us had the faintest clue you were already in the building. It was just bad luck for you that had us sweeping this floor when you were sneaking out. Bad luck for Chambers, as well,â he added as Kate heard the door behind her open. âHowâs the nose, Chambers?â
âCould be worse, sir,â came the reply, and Kate glanced up as the man who sheâd punched stepped into view. His nose was swollen and crooked, and he wore a frown that deepened as he met her gaze. Folding his arms, he settled behind the older man, like he was waiting for judgment to be passed on her.
Kate already disliked him.
The sound of a throat being cleared pulled her attention back to the older man, who was flipping through a file. âWe also didnât know it was you comingâwell, not for sure,â he said. âWe had a list of thieves that were known to hit targets like this, but we very nearly took your name off the list. We would have if Chambers hadnât brought it to my attention that you work at one of those American coffee shops the good senator likes to frequent.â
Kate couldnât hold back a scoff, and the man glanced up at her. âYou disagree?â
âWith the good part, yeah,â Kate said flatly. âHeâs a creep, and if youâre here defending him that makes you just as bad.â
âWeâre not defending his actions, weâre preventing you from breaking the law,â the other manâChambers, Kate thoughtâspoke up. âHis wrongdoings donât make yours right.â
âI disagree,â Kate said. âI think anyone who takes payoffs from drug cartels and worse deserves to have his money taken.â
âA sentiment Iâm sure youâre not alone in,â the first man cut in. âHowever, thatâs not what weâre here to discuss, MissâDavis, isnât it? Kate Davis?â
Kate didnât answer. The less you give them, the better, she thought. Because things could only get worse from here.
âWell, Miss Davis, Iâm Agent Andersen. And Iâm here to offer you a chance to escape from your otherwise unpleasant fate.â
That got Kateâs attention. Frowning at him, she said, âI was just caught robbing a senator. If Iâm lucky, Iâm going away for that. But most likely, youâre going to take me out to some back alley and get rid of me.â
âThatâs what you think of us?â Chambers said, a look of disgust crossing his face.
âThatâs how law enforcement works these days,â Kate shot back. âSurprising that you donât know that, Officer. Or maybe you are as dumb as you look. I did think I heard an echoing sound when I punched your stupid faceâis it actually hollow in there?â
He frowned even more deeply, and Andersen spoke up. âMiss Davis, we are not going to kill you. Youâre quite right in your assessmentâmost government agencies are corrupt these days in the States. Luckily for you, Iâm not from the States. And catching criminals is something of a passion for me. So your deal is as followsâyou hand over the person we ask for, someone more valuable, and you go free. Otherwise, you go to prison. Simple as that.â
Kate felt her gut plummet. âBut itâs not,â she said. âAnd you know it. Because prison is a death sentence for almost everyone these days.â
âIn most situations, yes,â Andersen agreed calmly. Meeting her gaze squarely, he asked, âSo. Would you like a way out?â
Oh, she hated this. She hated the idea that this man with his accent and his strange manner, to say nothing of his scowling sycophant, were in control of her life.
But she didnât have much of a choice.
âWhat do I have to do?â she asked.

The Sunnydale Herald Newsletter, Thursday, March 21
Willow: âHey! I was in the library during the quake, almost got buried under some 19th century literature. And I donât have to tell you how hard it is to dig through some of that stuff. You okay?â Buffy: âYeah. A couple of broken knick-knacks, but no biggies.â Willow: âWell, Porter dorm is completely blacked out. So naturally they are dealing with the crisis the only way they know how: âAftershock Partyâ.â Buffy: âAh, this from the dorm that brought us the âSomebody Sneezedâ party and the âDay That Ends in Yâ party.â

Don't hold your breath on my account!
By Stanley Collymore
All those vociferously and quite aggressively shouting leave Kate alone are the same bloody ones, the identical odious and vile hypocrites that quite obsessively in rightwing rags, like the Daily Mail and also, their similarly, likeminded electronic media counterparts quite customarily; aggressively; naturally distinctively vitriolically and crucially essentially, undeniably, obsessively berate Meghan, Harry, and equally their children very unwarrantedly even when these published stories or reported by these biased media have absolutely nothing whatever to do with Meghan and her family. But hey thatâs perfectly OK as it's simply, a naturally, rather lawfully revenue generating, through such numerous clickbait responses, for the media firms actually involved and equally allows the Karen and Gammon racists, to quite lawfully and harmlessly spout off publicly their evilly and obsessive racism!
But when their stalker, gold digger bitch turned saint by them and through her own deception is found out to be the odious, dishonest cunt which she is and has always been, and furthermore, makes it abundantly obvious, by her cowardly actions, that she has been a primary force through her personal stooges, and British rags in quite purposely denigrating Harry, Meghan and their children; and very specifically, and also literally racially so Archie, when he was undoubtedly a mere embryo in Meghan's woman; yet really pathetically, but obviously clearly according to Kate's distinctly brainwashed and simply braindead very noxious sycophants, the actual world, literally including Harry and Meghan, must simply generally feel sorry for and essentially empathize with Kate Middleton! You're clearly literally free to do so, of course; but don't actually hold your breath that I personally, will effectively ever be numbered among such sycophants!
(C) Stanley V. Collymore 19 March 2024.
Author's Remarks: I truly couldn't be any more indifferent to this gold digger, white Karen racist's welfare or otherwise, than I effectively am about the actual life span or, undoubtedly, the actually impending demise of similar white scum unquestionably, like: Tom Bauer, Sarah Vine, Rebecca English, Maureen Callaghan, Jeremy Clarkson, Amanda Platell, Frank Hester, Piers Morgan, or Richard Littlejohn, to name just a few of these walking deads.

I was thinking about âFor the people todayâ and god i wish the show had gone on longer. things it had:
-a law show i was actually interested in
-a Rory Gilmore and Paris Geller type dynamic between Littlejohn and Sandra
-the Paris character was actually gay (sadly no relationship with Rory character)
-did manage to go for two seasons
-had the guy off Bridgerton everyone was going crazy for (if thatâs your thing)
-interesting cases
