Can you give us your opinion about every F1 couple?

Max & Kelly: the sooner he sees a therapist who explains Freud to him and why he has mommy issues the better. Ick ick ick.

Charles & Alexandra: the timeline on when they really started dating is suspicious. They are very calculated with their image and I feel it's empty and vein. But they both are like that so it works somehow. What I do hate is how F1 media promotes them constantly. Royal couple of F1 on the official F1 page really? Hell no. I don't need to see wags on F1 media.

George & Carmen: how the hell was he 3rd in the sexiest driver list? And Carmen turned into a huge disappointment. Typical influencer and her clearly fake Q&As and GR this GR that is very performative. What was that Kate Middleton cos play this week? They definitely try to be aristocratic but it's like a Halloween costume. It's creepy because we don't know what's behind the mask.

Checo & Carola: I know they are very religious but honey if he cheats on you 3 weeks after you gave birth RUN! I doubt it's the only time.

Carlos and Rebecca: early midlife crisis? After his family pushed for marriage with Isa a rebellious streak with the opposite of her was expected. Didn't think it would last this long. She tries real hard to portray the good girl but I don't buy it. What's up with the white clothes recently? Virgin Rebecca. Far far from it. I think in the end he will marry a "good" Spanish woman his family will like (probably more than himself) so Rebecca is on a timetable.

Oscar & Lily: love them. Enough sad.

Alex & Lily: same. Love them. Waiting for engagement news.

Bottas & Tiffany: they are both weird and on the same page supporting each other. It seems very stable with them.

Lance & Marilou: no.

Alonso & Melissa: seems a great match. Really like them together even if I think it started while he was maybe still with Andrea.

Hulk & Egle: don't care for either. Works I guess.

Kmag & wife: same thing. Don't really care either way but I read some cheating rumors last year. Just local Danish rumors so it never really made the gossip rounds much.

Liam & Hannah: no.

Yuki and Zhou are very secretive so can't judge what we don't know. Not sure Yuki is still with Jana to be honest.

Esteban & Flavy: not a fan of him but he has the prettiest girlfriends who seem unproblematic.

Pierre & Kika: ick. From the age difference when it started I'm not a fan. But they both seem up for drama and attention so weirdly it works.

Prologue

“This way, quickly.”

“Are you alright? You…”

“I’m fine”, the man huffed, tightly clutching the little bundle in his arms. “We need to go.”

His legs weak, he climbed out the little boat, helped out his wife and very heavily shaking daughter. He was still so sorry about putting the little one through this. They were so close. He’d rescue them, even if it would kill him.

“Kloitz”, his wife said softly, holding him once again by the arm. He knew she could tell. He wouldn’t be able to go on much further. But this place, this Otherwordly Gate, was their last chance to get away from their followers.

Breathing heavily, his little daughter by the hand and son in his arms, he walked over to a cluster of small pillars, some of them engraved with ancient glyphs and words in the angelic language. He looked into the sky, looking for the moon. He hoped with all his heart the legend was right. That there was a different world where his children could live in peace.

Gasping suddenly, his daughter stopped in her tracks, leaving his hands and running back towards the boat.

“Raine!”, his wife screamed, quickly hurrying after her and grabbing her by the shoulder. “Don’t! What do you think you’re doing?”

“My books!”

“You can get new books!”

“No!”

“Raine!”

“Virginia, leave her. A few moments don’t change anything”, he said softly, exchanging a gaze with his wife. He knew she was scared, but Raine’s constant questions when they’d go home again told him she wasn’t understanding all of this. On the one hand, she was already reading and understanding things way ahead of her age, on the other, she stared at some trees and asking to go home. Not that he could blame her. She was hardly 10 years old after all.

Raine quickly hurried over to the boat, joined by her mother since she was still hesitant to go near water, in order to get the books they picked up along the way. He didn’t blame her clinging to them. She loved reading up about ancient history, wars and conflicts that somehow always turned out fine. Then again, she was probably not quite old enough to grasp the concept of history being dictated by winners.

A harsh light and the feeling of magic in the air made him turn around. Energy crackled around the tips of the largest pillars, lit up and in the middle, the light pooled up to an almost painful amount. But with this, he noticed the humming from above. Kloitz paled.

“Virginia!”, he screamed, turning to face the second part of his family. Virginia was still busy picking out the books, yet when she noticed his point, took Raine’s hand and just dragged her along. With the Rheairds already so close, his wife pushed their daughter ahead.

“Go!”

“Mum!”

“Please, Raine! Just go!”

His eyes met those of Virginia for a moment. They didn’t need any words. She wouldn’t come with them. She nodded at him and they exchanged a small smile. Seeing Raine running towards him, Kloitz turned and walked into the light.

“Get them!”, a guard called just as he felt something pulling on his being. He turned, watched Virginia channeling the last bit of her mana to fight off as many of them as she could. Being on the run for so long however wouldn’t let her go on for long. She was knocked aside rather quickly.

Kloitz watched in horror as Raine stopped running halfway over to him and turning by the sound of her mother hitting the ground.

“Raine!”, he screamed, unable to move. The child stood there, paralyzed. She didn’t even move when a soldier approached her, simply stared at her bleeding mother.

Once again, he screamed out for her, so much so that Genis in his arms woke and started crying. Kloitz held almost desperately to his son. The sound of her brother finally made her head turn to him.

As the light swallowed him, the last thing he saw were the terrified eyes of his daughter.

Hey I don’t know how to say this but like... if you’re more scandalized by people criticizing drivers for breaching quarantine than by the breach itself then YIKES. The drivers will ultimately be the least impacted if worst comes to worst; they’re all young, able bodied, healthy and rich. But F1 isn’t just about the drivers, it’s an interdependent ecosystem made up of thousands of people who are currently relying on each other to do there right thing so this precarious balance lasts. There are engineers and chefs and paddock hands and strategists and cleaners and photographers and catering staff and mechanics and a thousand others who’s health and income rests on everyone, particularly the drivers, doing the right thing.

Defending people for blatantly doing the wrong thing? What a terribly, terribly, terribly tone deaf position to take.
