I don't have any prose written yet, but the story is a canon divergence from Season 5 ep Evolution. What if Gabriel had given his past self that set of instructions on how to fix the peacock? When there is no impetus to save Emilie, everything changes... but sometimes the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Weight of a Soul!! Tell me more!

I've talked a little bit about this WIP here but I can give a little more on it.

It was written before the S5 finale aired, so its a oneshot that is mostly exploring a possible response for Adrien when he finds out that not only was his father Monarch, but also that Adrien is a sentibeing.

Adrien has to find out his origins at some point, and I am nervously awaiting how the show will handle it. Until then, I'm exploring my own ideas for it and the kind of devastating emotional response Adrien could have.

With the meagre minutes he had left on his transformation, he had run. He couldn't take the fear. He couldn't take what her decision would be - what he knew it should be. He was a sentimonster. Sentimonsters were monsters that shouldn't exist. But even though Adrien knew he should have handed both rings over to Ladybug then and there, he'd still fled. Because running away was how he'd always handled his problems. Because he'd always been a selfish coward.

we are the foxes is another partially published wip that is on temporary hiatus while i focus on other fics... and i think almost everything i have written for it that's polished enough to be shown has already been used in an ask game, rip. so here's a quick summary of a moment that i've planned for one of the next chapters

Alya will post a picture on her instagram of Adrien in front of the Le mur des je t'aime, with the caption saying he’s looking for the languages he knows. In reality, Adrien just stared at it and got really emotional about Marinette.... 250 ways to say I love you and he hadn't used any of them.

Since you’re other one was already done, may i inquire about the Adrino one?!!!!!!!! I can’t believe I missed that on the list!

Sure!! So, my Adrino wip is mostly me playing with the idea of Nino finding out Chat Noir's secret identity, but without Adrien knowing that he knows. It would be set sometime after Rocketear (and I've been toying with setting it after Collusion, but I'm not as sure about that yet). There's not much written for it because I've been trying to focus on finishing my wips that are partially published, but I am excited to work more on it later!

Oh, and the (&) part of the title is just a signal to me that it's a platonic Adrino idea, not a romantic one. In case I start one of those and get confused 😅

Rose tilted her head as she considered his outfit. “Wait, you’re a Chat Noir fan?” she asked. “I thought you didn’t trust him as much as the other heroes. That’s why you got akumatized, right?”

Heart racing, Nino swallowed hard and offered the girls a weak smile.  “We’ve, uh, grown closer since then,” he said, his voice trembling ever so slightly. “I know a lot more about him now. And I don’t think I’ll ever make the same mistake again, to misjudge him like that. He’s a really cool dude,” Nino said, gaze flickering to Adrien for a moment. “And I hope he knows that.”

Marinette wiped her tears with her sleeve, and pulled away just enough to reach into her pocket. She gripped the pregnancy test and held it out to her mother.

Sabine's eyes widened as she took in the results of the test in her hand. Her gaze flashed back up to Marinette's.

“You're pregnant.” And it wasn't a question, but it was enough to send Marinette into devastated tears once again.

Her mother pulled her back into the hug and just held her. “It's going to be okay.”

Here's a deleted scene from the adrinette zine fic I wrote where Adrien gets jealous of the cat Marinette adopted WHICH I JUST REALIZED I NEVER POSTED ON AO3 FUCK SKJFSHFXGHJFSGHJ

The one saving grace of Parisian sewers is its relative peace and quiet. No civilians or bloggers, no cameras or gossip. Just sewage and a gross smell that, frankly, is forgotten after a while. Especially when at this moment, all Adrien can allow himself to notice is {placeholder for smelly smells} Indeed, the stench is all but forgotten  And right now, Adrien loves the sewers, especially with his lady pressing him against the walls, lips gliding over his even as the last of their transformation falls away and the magic is drowned out by the echo of her sighs. He barely even notices their kwami flutter away, too enthralled by the sweet softness of his girlfriend (his girlfriend! What a thought!) and the faint sensation of her petite fingers tickling against the collar of his shirt.  Yes, though many might disagree he thinks this corner is the most romantic spot in all of Paris. At the very least, it’s theirs. So when Marinette pulls away, a distracted wrinkle between her brows and plump lips in a frown, Adrien is somewhat taken aback.  Surely, after these past weeks he wasn’t that bad of a kisser? Right? Maybe? But before he can ask, bright blue eyes that manage light up the dark sewers and his entire world blink up at him and say, “Did you hear that?” Adrien, who isn’t at all distracted by thoughts of how absolutely adorable she is, elegantly replies, “Huh…what?” She smiles fondly at him and shakes her head. Lifting her hand to his chin and guiding him to look towards the right. “That sound, chaton.” In his civilian form it takes a second for his eyes to adjust to the darkness, but he can still hear the sound of something scratching against the walls Except that scattering, haunting yowl bouncing off the walls. Im no scaredy cat Marinette I never said you were chaton Grumble grumble you implied it

and then they find a little black kitten and adrien gets jealous but its a very sweet fic i swear

this was a very rough rough draft before i realized there was no way i could keep this scene to fit with the word count but i kept it because i was like one day i will post the zine fic to ao3 and i can add it as a treat BUT THEN I FORGOT TO POST IT SDKJGHSD

8. do you change into specific clothes for the house when you get home?

YES ABSOLUTELY. honestly if i had it my way i would wear a hazmat suit outside and still shower every time i enter the house but my mom would flip out. i've always been a germaphobe but covid (and becoming hyperaware just how DISGUSTING the average person is DESPITE a dangerous disease going around) has just. really accelerated that.

11. anything from your childhood you’ve held on to?

i actually have a lot of old books, like 98% of the books (excluding textbooks) i have are from when i was 10 or younger. i started reading ebooks at 12 and never looked back. apart from that not really a lot of stuff, we moved around a lot when i was very young and didn't keep much and then our final house move was when i was 11 and had outgrown all my toys anyway so we donated everything then

20. favorite disney princess movie?

does the entire ml show count since adrien is officially a disney princess now that disney owns the streaming rights 🥺

if not, i really loved the little mermaid in middle school and though it's been a While since i've watched a disney princess movie, my favorite right now would probably be a tie between mulan and princess and the frog

Part 27. Safely Seen (Oni-Chan 2.0, part D)

Description below the cut

Astrowalker flies toward a mountain, near the base of which is a small clearing at the top of a sheer cliff.

Astrowalker (internally): Good, she's not here yet.

Adrien detransforms as he drops to the ground and reaches for the shoe that he previously cut a hole in.

Adrien: Claws in.

Adrien puts on his hat, pulls up the hood of his hoodie, and pulls out Rolland’s knife.  Plagg gestures towards the knife incredulously.

Plagg: A knife?  You came all the way out here to pull out a knife?

Adrien: I'm here because this is where Cosmobug is going to be.

Adrien peeks from behind the tree towards the sky, where Cosmobug is flying in.

Adrien: And there she is.

Adrien holds up the knife, where he looks at his own reflection.

Adrien: So here I am.

Adrien walks out from behind the tree as Oni-Chan teleports in.

Adrien starts to petrify as he grabs Oni-Chan’s sword and stabs his knife between the branches in the sword, locking it in place.

Adrien: Gotcha.

Oni-Chan tries to jiggle the sword out of the frozen Adrien’s grasp.

Oni-Chan: Some boy seizing my sword isn't going to stop me from...

Oni-Chan reaches a hand towards Adrien’s frozen face.

Oni-Chan: You're...

Cosmobug (wearing the red glove side of her Lucky Charm, still attached to the black glove part) flies towards the akuma and throws her yo-yo.

Cosmobug: Get away from him!

Oni-Chan teleports behind Cosmobug, attacking her with her sword.  Cosmobug, her yo-yo having gone too far to immediately be of use, blocks the strike with her Lucky Charm gloves.

Oni-Chan: Ladybug, you don't understand!  That boy down there is—

Cosmobug slips the black glove of the Lucky Charm into Adrien’s frozen hand so that they’re holding hands together.

Cosmobug: Adrien Agreste!  I know!

Cosmobug uses her grasp on Adrien to give her leverage as she simultaneously kicks Oni-Chan in the chest and uses her yo-yo to grab the sword and (using Adrien's arm as a way to redirect the yo-yo string) and yank it away.

Cosmobug: I figured out he was going to be here!  And I'm going to save him!

Oni-Chan goes flying off the cliff and into the trees below.

Oni-Chan: Aaahhhh!

Cosmobug: No more evil doing for you, little akuma!

Cosmobug breaks the sword with her yo-yo and captures the akuma in one smooth motion, then throws the Lucky Charm gloves into the sky to cast her cure.

Cosmobug: Time to de-evilize!  Miraculous Ladybug!

As the magical ladybugs restore Adrien to normal, he is startled (to the point to dropping his knife) as Cosmobug jumps on him, hugging him with her arms and legs as she wears a ginormous grin on her face.

Cosmobug: Adrien!!!!!!!  I found you!

As Adrien and Cosmobug fall together, he lets himself wrap his arms around her, relishing this moment where he can accept her embrace again.

Cosmobug: I can't even explain how worried I've been, Adrien!  I'm just so glad that you're alive!  I searched everywhere trying to find out where you'd really gone!  And now you're here!

Adrien: I'm here.

Adrien smiles sheepishly as Cosmobug pins him to the ground.  Cosmobug’s eyes bug out in embarrassment at the position she has him in.

Adrien: But, uh, Cosmobug?  Can I sit up please?

Cosmobug: Waaahh...?

Adrien: I don't mind being like this!  But I think I fell on something pointy...?

Cosmobug jolts up and flings the knife straight behind her.  Adrien holds up his hands and tries to laugh off his situation.

Cosmobug: Eep!  Sorry!  I didn't mean—!

Adrien: It's fine!  No harm done!

Cosmobug: It's not all fine!

Adrien leans into Cosmobug’s touch as she caresses his cheek, wiping her thumb at the tears that have started forming in his eyes.  With her other hand, she points her fingers towards the bruise on his neck, stopping short of touching it.

Cosmobug: I can't bear the thought of you getting hurt, Adrien.  Whatever you've been through?  You didn't deserve it.  None of your suffering was okay.  Which is why I refuse to let it happen again.

Cosmobug holds up her hands theatrically as she starts dreaming up the perfect plan.  Adrien is shown from behind, expression unseen.

Cosmobug: I'll personally see to it that you have someone who cares about you by your side 24/7, so you'll be completely safe!  I know you have some amazing friends who would do anything for you!

Adrien (talked over): Cosmobug, I don't think I—

Cosmobug: And since I know it can be hard to ask people for help, I'll ask them for you!

Cosmobug smiles and raises her hand towards her earring as it starts beeping loudly.

Cosmobug: I just know Marinette would love to—

Adrien (talked over): Really, I—

*BEEP BEEP BEEP*

Cosmobug: Sorry!  I'm about to detransform!  Be right back!

Cosmobug hovers off the edge of the cliff, giving a wave and a thumbs up.  Adrien kneels, reaching his finger towards the ring he stashed through the hole in his shoe.

Cosmobug: The end is in sight!  Just sit tight for a second and you'll be home free!

Marinette, all starry-eyed, touches the sides of her face in glee.  Tikki is mostly focused on eating the space power up cookie.

Marinette: Adrien's here, Tikki!  Thank you thank you thank you for giving me that Lucky Charm!  It led me right to him!

Tikki: Lucky Charms are more the universe providing you what you need than me...

Marinette: Close enough!  If it weren't for you, I'd still be powerless to help Adrien.  But now I can protect him!

Tikki, halfway through her cookie, looks away uneasily.

Tikki: Aren't you forgetting to ask Adrien what he wants?

Marinette: I know what he wants: to be with the people he cares about.  His friends are all dying to help, so we'll be perfect for giving Adrien everything he needs to feel that he's safely home!

Tikki: I guess... but maybe you should first make sure that your other friend gets home too?

Marinette grabs the side of her head in distress at the reminder.

Marinette: I FORGOT ALL ABOUT KAGAMI!

Somewhere in the trees at the bottom of the cliff, Cosmobug finds Kagami and waves to her.  Kagami shows Cosmobug the knife she found.

Cosmobug: Hey, Kagami!  I totally didn't forget to come get you!  I've just got a... surprise for you!

Kagami: Was the surprise this knife that almost hit me in the head?

Cosmobug: No!  I mean... The real surprise is going to be much better than a knife, ha ha!  Let me show you!

Cosmobug, having picked up Kagami to bring her to the clearing at the top of the cliff, gestures in front of them cheerfully.  Kagami looks confused.

Cosmobug: Tada!

Kagami: ...I am confused.  There seems to be nothing here?

Cosmobug turns her head in shock.

Cosmobug: What?  No!

Cosmobug kneels prone on the ground of the empty clearing, Kagami watching from behind at the cliff’s edge.

Cosmobug: Adrien was right here...  He was...

I’m sure I’m being super predictable here:

Third wheel Nino fic!!!!!

haha i thought you'd be interested in this one! i can't remember exactly what/how much i've said about this fic in the past, but the main premise is that post-djwifi break-up (alya's moving away for school or a job or something), adrien and marinette invite nino to stay with them for company, thinking it'll be for a day or two. But, uh...nino seems to have taken their "stay as long as you like!" quite literally. And they don't know how to ask him to leave, and like, sure. He's a great roommate! But he's also very THERE. all the time. being SUPER enthusiastic in cheering on their relationship, but maybe not being the best at always remembering to knock. Which eventually leads to Marinette snapping at him over something, and then they talk, and from there...well, he's not a third wheel by the end of the fic I guess we can just say that 😂

I think a lot of the focus would be on the Ninette part of developing the throuple, because like, Adrino always feels very natural and like it doesn't need a lot of explanation. And Adrinette's already together. But I really want to write SOMETHING at some point that delves more into ninette.

Also there's a B-plot featuring Marinette dropping out of school, because that's something I've wanted to write for a while but haven't gotten around to.

Buuuuuuuut I don't really have an outline yet, just a bunch of loose ideas. And I want to somehow incorporate the superhero aspect, but haven't figured out how to do that. The AU lives in my mind and not so much on the page 😂

oh gosh i really don't know how to choose this one. maybe this from oh look now there you go with hope again, because this one little sentence from adrien has so much weight:

“As long as I’m willing to play the victim, they don’t see me as a villain.”

though i have other lines that i like because they're funny or sweet, so depending on what mood i'm in my favorite might change!

Nope! But through coincidence, I have the same name as one of my not-too-distant relatives. (she moved to the US from Ireland)

2. When was the last time you cried?

Good question. I felt like crying last week but I'm not sure if I actually did or not :D

3. Do you have kids?

No, but I do have a cat!

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

When I feel like it, sure. It's not my defining trait

5. What sports do you play/have played?

I did one year of track in middle school and that was enough for me. I also did 4 years of marching band in high school, but some people count that as a sport and others don't, which I get.

6. What’s the first thing you notice about someone?

As an unobservant person, it really depends, but hair color, clothing, and accent/dialect usually stand out the most.

7. What’s your eye color?

Green!

8. Scary movies or happy endings?

I will always choose happy endings. I scared myself too much as a kid and now I avoid horror like the plague

9. Any special talents?

I'm decent at cooking, baking, and I guess writing, too

10. Where were you born?

in the USA

11. What are your hobbies?

writing, cooking/baking, and singing along to my favorite songs (in private)

Yes! I already mentioned my kitty, whose name is Mira, and I share two more cats with my family. We also have two goldfish and a handful of snails, and there's a bunny that's been visiting our garden a lot lately, but unfortunately we can't adopt it :(

5 feet, 6 1/2 inches (or 169-ish cm)

14. Favorite subject in school?

It was always a toss-up between English, history, and band/choir for me. They were all such fun classes!
