FARRAGOTOBER DAYS 22-25: BETCHU THOUGHT I WAS DEAD HUH???? Anyways I was itching SO long to get these guys drawn i had to stare at their sprites but no computer each day (;´д`)ゞ(;´д`)ゞ
TREFAH- One of the top security trolls for the 6th sector grub cavern. She takes her job seriously maybe too seriously since she has attacked nursery drones who enter wrong area on accident. She is also one of the few if only midblooded trolls that can say they survived an encounter the heriess.
DARJAH- The Styx's top helmsman. She'd prefer to be the only one but with support laws it's been deemed too "dangerous" and "Outdated" for one gold to power a whole empirical ship. Though her complaints are not heard often as she is medically induced into coma's most of her flights.
ACARDI- "If bookworms were real I'd be the physical manifestation of one," is what she always says about herself. When she is not working as a ledger keeper you can always find her within the library or her own respit block buried in a fantasy book. That is if she isn't writing one of her own. She despises her empirical uniform and lavishes every moment she gets to take it off.
MORTIS- An odd one out for one of his caste. Instead of following the usual law and or detective branch he has risen in the ranks on the path of Executioners. He has made it his duty to be the loyal sword of the heir and protect the dream of the empire. The lowbloods just don't know their path yet is all, He will show them.

About me
I go by Amara or Ghost. She/He/They.
Most of my stories include queer characters because, well, I am.
I'm an old person with a big kid job who's working towards getting a grown-up job (aka I work full time and go to college. Someone help me!)
I'm central timezone, but work overnights, so that's when I'll be most active. It's strange, I know.
While I'm not new to Tumblr, I am new to the writing and reading communities here.
I got into writing like most people I know my age, through roleplaying stories with friends back in the golden days of Gaia Online (my age is showing , huh?)
I am. Super dyslexic. Feel free to kindly point out any spelling or grammatical errors I make. I try my best, but nothing is ever perfect.
I love meeting, and talking to, new friends! Community is very important to me whether it's my local queer community, or my many online communities. Let's get to know each other! My inbox is always open 💙
My WIPs
The Whimsical World of Tobias James Barton.
His name was Tobias James Barton, born the 31st day of October in the year of 1830. All Hallows Eve as it was. He was turning 13 this year, though he couldn't for the life of him recall a single thing from before he was 12 years of age .
A boy with terrifying strength and a mysterious past meets a man with a book and a secret. Together, they solve mysteries, fight magical beasts, and cause general chaos wherever they go.
The Prize Fighter of Iskana (link to Wattpad)
Ferris is an untouchable. Bred for war and a life of violence. A beast who was only good for their strength and obedience. It was all they knew. When they are whisked away to the desert country of Iskana as punishment for stepping out of line, they are sure it would be the end for them. The universe, however, had much different plans. It's in the palace of Iskana where they meet the rather strange demon prince that turns all that they knew about life, and love, upside down.
Pandora
War is coming to them, but the people living peacefully on the planet of Pandora can't feel it. Skye Wilder is on the cusp of adulthood. He'll be graduating high-school soon, moving into an apartment with his cousin, Karul-An, and his off and on boyfriend, Justin, while joining the engineering program at the community college just two star systems over.
Or at least he thinks he will.
Things take a turn when his estranged older brother, Vincente, shows up with some plans of his own.

Image nº 1, seated human figure recently found during excavations at Karahan Tepe. 2.3 m high, it seems to represent a dead person, his ribs, spine and bones in general are represented in detail.
In 2019, archaeologist Necmi Karul from Istanbul University would discover at the site of Karahan Tepe (a few km from Göbekli Tepe) Turkey, a city that has been considered by many scholars to be the first settlement in history, dating back to approximately the year 9400. B.C.
Excavation campaigns have unearthed more than 300 steles, pillars and sculptures of all kinds carved in limestone. As happened with its neighbor and twin Göbekli Tepe, the inhabitants buried and covered it in a ritual manner before leaving the place. As a curiosity, the humanoid statues were decapitated, their noses were cut off and their heads were turned upside down, facing the walls.

Peace
"Kar'ul," called Yol, in Yol's voice. It didn't occur to Carol that the codename would be so easily spoken by the Acolyte, that was perfect. "Karul," she tried again. Carol didn't sigh, and instead she edged out of her shelter to see Yol waiting on her where she stood, gesturing at a door near her own, a different little dugout. Several items, mostly statuettes from around the area, littered the space near the door, apparently having been dug out of the space.
The dugout, lit by a crystal near the door, had been cleaned out completely. The dust and leaves had been cleared from the corners, and at least one more light came from inside. "Home," Yol said then.
The Acolyte looked at the shack that, for what it was, stood strong, but was certainly not a hollowed out statue base made of stone and lined by spikes.
Carol didn't know what to say.
Yol didn't seem to care, as she lumbered to the previous shelter. She didn't remove the top but pulled the shrouds from inside to deliver to Carol, who took them from her absently as she tried to decide what to do.
The hesitation made her decision– before she could say 'no thank you', the previous shelter sat empty, reduced to simple planes of stone tilted against a statue.
The vegetation made for decent padding, and Yol did try but couldn't actually fit inside the hovel herself. Carol held the shrouds, watching Yol struggle for several long moments with her white, chitinous arm in the small space, shoulder planes and spikes catching on the ground and top of the opening, until she finally allowed herself to fall flat on her stomach with a groan of frustration.
"Thank you, Yol," Carol finally managed. The Acolyte sat back and looked up to Carol, and she started talking, but Jinx waited for a few sentences before she started speaking.
"So, there's a lot of ideas here that don't really jive for her, so I'm going to do my best with the words she's using. She said, I want your house to be safe, only 'house' is more like 'bed' but isn't really either of those things, and isn't quite 'home', either. And 'safe' is, of course, relative, and it more means like she wants you to live a long time and become strong. She wants you to have a space here, this house-bed-home idea, and for you to know that she'll have it here for you when you leave."
Yol then gestured at the seats she'd put together for Freija and Three.
"It's kind of a strange idea to her to have friends or a fireteam, but she likes it a lot and wants to make the spaces for it," Jinx said, no longer translating. "This is kinda… literal, I guess, but this is her way of showing she's friends, she makes a space for you in her space."
Carol nodded slowly.
"You showing up is the first time they stayed the night, too," said Jinx softly. "They normally leave after a few hours. Three showed up by herself for the first time, yesterday. It's been really lonely."
Carol's nod finally stopped. "That does sound very lonely, yes," she agreed. "I didn't expect an invitation so quickly," she admitted, cocking her head to a side. "Not to be ungrateful."
Jinx wheeled and Yol grunted with a crooked grin, and she got to her feet. "I like you," she said. "Me, too," said Jinx in her own voice. "We like the company, but you're really quiet," she explained. "It's exactly what we needed. Freija only being here a few hours is a good thing. She's too much for Yol. Three is good help, but she feels like she doesn't like us? She doesn't like turning her back on Yol much, and it's probably more Hunter than Hive, but it's still been…. But you're studying. And learning. And quiet. And we're happy to have someone but not need to take care of them or worry about them, you know?"
Yol grunted at Jinx, apparently unhappy with the chatter, and she batted at the Ghost. "Quiet," she said and nodded firmly, then she lumbered back into her 'house' and closed the door.
Carol wanted to meditate, but this was actually better.
"That was disturbing," said Ghost as he emerged, lighting the shelter more effectively so that she could spread the leaves and shrouds over them neatly. The small space would be better for keeping in warmth, too, and she might even have a space blanket in her ship, that would make this downright homey.
"What was disturbing?" asked Carol.
"And you're just going to dive right in?" he pressed, not answering.
"You still don't trust Yol?"
Ghost wheeled with frustration and his comm buzzed when he turned it back on. "No, I do not. They can have all the sparks they want, I do not trust them."
"I do," huffed Carol. "She got tired of the other two before I did, and she still kept them around for the company. She's had numerous opportunities, and reasons, to rescind the peace offering she's made to the Vanguard, and she has not because she has faith in the Traveler, in her Ghost, and in that idiot Titan's goodness. And now in me, because she's trusting me not to kill her as much as I'm trusting her not to kill me. In fact, she gave me a space she can't get into!"
Ghost spun to look at the door, not having been paying attention, she supposed, and he buzzed again, but didn't speak.
"So calm down. I understand. However, the danger here is not Yol, but other Guardians and Hive that feel betrayed by their kin." She looked to her Ghost and rocked her forehead toward him, gently easing into his bubble of Light. "It's okay."
"I don't like it," he replied. "This is ridiculously foolhardy. Let the Titan do this and observe like we were doing."
"The Titan was being a Titan," Carol said with a wry smile. "She was going to hurt someone."
"Herself, maybe." The Ghost settled close to Carol's shoulder. "You're going to tell her your name, soon, aren't you?"
"When I'm confident the Titan and Hunter are done interfering," Carol admitted. "I don't need them knowing, but I do feel I will need to open up at least that much to her if I expect to have any kind of friendship."
"Why do you expect to have any sort of friendship?!" demanded Ghost.
"Because that was part of why I was chosen. Any of the others would treat her as an experiment. I am seeing the person she is." She finished her work on the bed and ventured back into the open. "And I am done having this conversation. I have made my decision to take the mission, as Ikora made hers to give it to me."
Yol was cleaning up her courtyard, piling the brush back into its tomb-like pots, collecting bones and chitin from corners she had apparently been neglecting, and Carol recognized the embarrassed cleanup of someone who didn't expect guests, and so stepped back into her den near the door, and she pulled the slab half-over it, leaving a space to look through and hopefully showing herself to be here without being obtrusive.
She looked to her datapad and took the notes while she thought about it. Everything she just yelled at Ghost, everything the Titan had said, the vanishing of the Hunter…
The den…?
For some reason, she wanted to keep her little gifted hideout a secret. She wasn't even sure why.
"Why are you hesitating?" asked Ghost.
"I'm… not sure." She frowned and stared at the datapad. She sent the report as it was, then continued to stare.
What would be the benefit in hiding? Having a safe place to go to. Preventing anyone in the Vanguard from sabotage or plain murder after finding out this was the plan…
Dangers of hiding? She would not be rescued, either, which was more likely a threat.
Except…
"I think I will tell Ikora, and only Ikora," she finally decided, holding the datapad up to Ghost for him to hack.
"A private channel?" asked Ikora. "Is something wrong?"
"I… am being irrational," she admitted. "However, I have a feeling that I should allow this irrationality to a degree, and therefore, I am telling you privately, that I have been granted a small hiding place in the courtyard where she lives, at the foot of a statue."
Ikora's warm voice relieved Carol to hear when she said, "I appreciate your discretion, and I'll be mindful of it," she promised. "Are there any other details you wished to report privately?"
"All other items are in the submitted report," she declared.
"Are you making friends?" Ikora asked.
Carol knew she was here because she would, indeed, try to make friends, but it still felt like Ikora was making fun. "Yes."
"Good. Excellent," the Vanguard said, a clear note of triumph that made Carol smile. "Keep it up," she said then. "I've got my faith in you."
Carol often wondered if she learned those kinds of lines from Zavala when she became Vanguard. They never sounded natural. "Thank you. I'll report back in twenty-four hours, unless something significant happens."
Peering out, Yol seemed to have finished and was now carving into a bone with another bone, whittling patterns into the skull of a Knight. "Yol?"
"Karul?" replied Yol.
The Warlock emerged from her hiding place and approached, making an attempt to look like she was doing exactly what she was doing, an irritatingly difficult task sometimes. The carvings were neatly done, grinding away at the surface a little at a time, and looked like make-up over the brows and along the top of the skull, with jagged edges and rounded horns coming off and arching around each other hypnotically.
"Impressive," she said, hoping she sounded sincere.
Yol happily replied and offered her the other side to show the work she'd already completed, with what looked to be flames as carved in, layers and layers of individual tongues of fire overlaid into each other. It was smoothly done and easily identifiable. She was quite a sculptor.
She rattled at her and Jinx didn't bother translating, but she didn't need the translation. Yol went back to her room and brought out three more, and Acolyte and two Wizards, one Lucent and the other not.
Carol pointed at the Lucent head and frowned curiously, hoping the expression carried over.
"We didn't kill them," said Jinx simply. "Just harvested."
Carol nodded, then lifted the skull to better examine the crown of spines on the head, and the way the bones had been whittled into tiny shapes. Closer, she realized, they were each tiny clawed hands grasping the wrist of the hand above it, in a chain up the center and around each rib.
"Very well done," admitted Ghost over Carol's shoulder. "I think I'm more impressed by the crafting of the tools than the sculpture, but this is some skill. She must be quite bored."
Carol didn't even think of that. Yeah, with such limited roaming space, she would likely get very bored indeed.
Sniffing closer, Carol recognized the scent of Light coming off it, and not from the arc. "I take it you used your knife?" she asked. Jinx translated for her.
Yol lifted her own claws and said, "I learned to put the Light in my hands like when I make the bombs, but I stop it on the inside." She demonstrated again, illuminating the area with her purple glow. "My claw serves as a point to hone."
Carol nodded and placed the skull reverently on the nearest surface, the side of a statue base, and she picked up the Acolyte's.
This one was far more personal, not practice nor play. The skull had a huge blooming flower reminiscent of the red leaves all over the place here, but more open, almost a rose of a cabbage head; with tendrils of smoky spikes weaving out from under it and breaking into smaller tendrils that encircled the eyes and spread like fingers eerily. A set of symbols rested on the back, near the bottom opening for the spine. "This was a friend?" she asked.
"We killed him," clarified Jinx. "He did not like me," she added, drifting low. "She was protecting me."
"You say we?" asked Carol, examining the skull further. With that in mind, the carving looked far more sinister– grabbing the eyes and holding them open or closed.
"She wouldn't be fighting if not for me," Jinx said.
"I think you can blame the Titan, if you'd like," Ghost suggested ruefully. "I certainly am."
"You don't like Freija?" asked Jinx. "She's only annoying, she's still the best person I've ever encountered."
"Ghost thinks that being annoying makes you a bad person," teased Carol, nudging him with a finger as he dodged away. "He's being mean," she added, stabbing at him with the finger again.
"We noticed. What's his problem, anyway?" asked Jinx.
"He's worried," Carol explained, but Ghost flapped at her and buzzed irritably.
"I am not worried!"
"He is worried," Carol insisted. "He gets that way when he can't predict the future."
Ghost buzzed at her in what Carol assumed was some subsonic drone language, and she placed the skull down to pick up the third. "You're really good at this," she said. This one simply used the skull as a canvas, just little etchings in patches over the bone. Why this one got such irreverent treatment was a question, but if they were simply harvested, a lowly acolyte would likely not get much respect, she supposed.
Yol was subtly watching Carol when she looked up, and pretended she wasn't when Carol lifted her head. It was cute. "These are great," she said to Yol, who cheered softly and took them back, carting them back into her hut. The statuettes had been placed in rows in front of it, Carol noticed. It looked far more homey with that addition, though a little… insane. As this whole thing was, she supposed.
"Thank you for the shelter," Carol said to Yol. Jinx translated, and Yol bowed reverently.
"Why are you only translating sometimes?" asked Carol, looking to Jinx. "Since mine isn't?"
"First– that is his job. He's being mean, as you said. But also, she only sort of needs the translations. A lot of the time, we're using the ideas anyway, so words aren't always helpful."
Ghost buzzed at Jinx, who seemed to ignore him. "That's fine," Carol said. "I'm glad we can communicate that way."
Yol grunted at her, and then said, "Food?"
Carol didn't have any more field rations, and she shrugged. "Hunt?" she offered.
"Those words are the same thing to her," Jinx said, and the Acolyte picked up her blaster as Carol checked her ammunition and put on her helmet.

One of the more bizarrh customs of the Karull is the roll of the Mortot. Part medicine man, part battlefield surgeon, these individuals harvest limbs from the living and the dead for later grafting. Far from macabre, the practice of recycling body parts is celebrated in Karull society as evidence of their hardiness and commitment to making the most of limited resources. In combat situations the Mortot will treat injury through wholesale amputation and switching of anatomy. The wounded body part will be treated outside of the combat zone and become part of the Mortot’s stock of parts to be used in a future emergency. Through this process a karull tribe is bonded as everything, even down to the individuals body, becomes the communal property of the tribe. members pride themselves on the number of parts they have given and acquired.

So some of you who've followed me for some time might remember that, around five years ago, I played an Arcana hack called Seal of Rimsala. Ultimately back then I decided that it had good ideas but was held back by how hard the reduced rate of enemies made it to grind. Well, I've been occasionally checking back on the updates and learned recently that 3.0 got released earlier in the year. And am happy to say it has greatly improved from what I played in 2019!
(note I'm using terminology from vanilla when applicable, not because name changes aren't good or correct, but in case someone who knows Arcana but hasn't played the hack is reading so they know what I'm talking about)
The grinding issue is somewhat mitigated by the maps that come with this release showing places with higher than normal monster concentration. Now, I'm not sure if these existed in vanilla or not since I'm not a hacker (though since Stavery 12F is one of them and I always thought I got into more random fights than normal...). But it definitely helped me to get into my groove in several places. Also, I've readjusted strategies and found perfect grind spots thanks to said maps including ones with the enemy domains so I can grab places with high EXP enemies.
There's now people credited with translation work, properly fixing early 90s censorship and things that were just plain wrong in the original. Which is what I'd been looking for in a text cleanup patch when I first checked the hack out of curiosity. I was also happy to find out that 99% of the things they said were how I interpreted the Japanese dialog when I looked into it...remember, I'm not a skilled translator, just an idiot with a kanji dictionary app. The biggest exception was a line I'd thrown my hands up figuring out anyway after trying to look up what the sentence meant when my app failed (so did Google Translate but that's not a surprise).
The new updates to the equipment makes it so much easier to make choices on what to equip and when. Like, I kept the Crystal Sword on over the Spirit Sword for much of Chapter 5 because it was doing more damage to the non-elemental Minotaurs and Jotuns while Teefa and the Spirits handled the elemental stuff. This also applied to figuring out what Attribute spell to cast between better labeling of Elements and the power level. Also...A+ names for the new spell names that better describe what human attack spells do. It also helped me to realize that I'd written Salah's Attributes 6 and 3 backwards in my lists...but a quick peak into Vanilla ENG and JP shows it was reversed and I was too dunderheaded to look at the MP costs.
Was a bit of a challenge starting Chapter 5 since all Teefa's equipment and Darwin's sword were moved till after the Karul fight. Money got tight and I didn't get Rooks a Kaiser Shield until after escaping the tunnel with Darwin's free gear (the darn thing is only 20,000 off max money and I needed to add a sword, a staff, and a robe to the shopping list). Though that let us punch dragons down for a bit till we were down to shields.
Gonna go back sometime with the Level Select which I tried out while doing my checks on Salah's spells in all three versions of the game I've access to. Probably run Chapter 1, then after starting the scenes in Chapter 2 reset and do the Level Select instead so I can amass as much cash as possible for Run 1, then try it again with Chapter 5 due to the listed changes in the readme file (which I won't spoil if anyone wants to play for themselves).
All in all, thanks to Autumn Shinespark and the team for improving this game so much!

"Gangabawada : Beauty in the midst of Ghats"
Tumblr media
Gaganbawada is situated on the Sahyadri range or the western ghats likewise has an acclaimed stronghold Gagangad close to it. Gaganbawada, however, is just 55 km from Kolhapur, which is a non-developed and bumpy space of the region. Gaganbawada gets the most extreme precipitation during the blustery season. Gaganbawada is on the edge of the acclaimed Karul Ghat and Bhuibawada Ghat.
Maybe the lone spot having two ghats beginning at a solitary spot yet going towards various bearings, one towards Talere-Kankavali (Karul Ghat) and another towards Kharepatan-Rajapur (Bhuibawada Ghat).
Each season the view will be unique and wonderful. The foggy mountains and rich green slopes of Gaganbawada are a treat to the eyes. It's tranquil and quiet environmental factors are a genuine enjoyment. Gaganbawada has a rich authentic and fanciful foundation. It additionally has an endowment of assorted biodiversity. The vegetation in the backwoods around Gaganbawada will hypnotize any nature sweetheart.
Significance of Gaganbawada
