I had an au of a one piece and dsmp crossover at like 2023 or 2022
Where bench trio becomes like cabin boys for the straw hats but were picked up randomly
Tubbo was first found at whiskey peak but he just snuck into the going merry before the entire vivi situation happens so he basically stowed away
Tommy was found in skypiea cuz he got lost in the sky and ended up there, saw tubbo with them and kinda got along with the crew
Ranboo was at enies lobby at least, captured due to his interesting teleporting species but was not sent yet to anywhere so when the straw hats came, it was an opportunity to escape
All of them are unnatural humans, hybrids, tommy having a pair of huge wings on his back, tubbo and goat hybrid and ranboo as an enderman or enderian at this case
They were from an island where unnatural beings live in piece since they were either the last of their kind or shunned out and hunted down. A hidden island that can survive the future events about to happen in the one piece, can be found with an eternal pose
The people who leaves are those who are suitable for fighting and surviving, they mostly just deliver cargo and do exchanges, bench trio wanted to come with them to explore the grandline(the island exists somewhere in the grandline, at least in the calm belt)
Despite dream being in charge its mostly karl and Callahan who manages things if dream cant

Prologue
-
Techno is at the prison, staring at it near Tommy’s tower. He has the blueprints. He spots Ranboo at the prison entrance being punched by Sam and runs over, only for the portal to break just as he gets there.
-
1 DAY LATER
-
- Niki is in her underground city, several potions in her hotbar. Techno has called her. She starts running through the Nether, confused. Why would Techno call at this time? She makes her way to the Syndicate meeting room
- Boomer is in his cave. He has another feeling and starts traveling through the Nether...he goes to the bank, where he meets Hannah there. Boomer was meditating when he had a feeling...he tells Hannah about his hat talking to him
- Michael starts in his radio room. He makes his way into town and finds Callahan there
- Techno is with Phil in the Syndicate meeting room. Somebody is at the door: Niki! There’s a new sixth member of the Syndicate, a little dog who followed Techno there
- Techno tells them about Ranboo being punched into the prison. They need to break Ranboo out as well
- Sapnap is with Punz at the Community House
- Michael sees Tommy at Tommy’s house
- They name the dog Apollo and the Syndicate sets off through the secret tunnel
- Boomer builds a penis and Sapnap and Punz come to kill him
- The Wither Vault has been decorated wall-to-wall with the prison blueprints
- Sapnap tells them that Callahan is the immortal god of the server. Hannah is mad about Sapnap stealing Puffy’s horse
- Hannah almost kills Beckerson, and Sapnap tells them if Beckerson dies Hannah will lose everything
- Tommy is standing on the bench
- Techno fills Phil and Niki in on what he learned about the prison. Sapnap tells Hannah and Boomer that he was born in fire
- A fight breaks out at the bank while the Syndicate gathers their items. Eryn is at the bank now too. They talk about NFTs, which Sapnap hates
- The bank crew goes to Punz’s tower to argue about apartments
- Sapnap runs off with Cottonball, who he calls Jeoffrey, with Eryn
- Boomer’s hat wants him to seek out someone who’s locked away in prison, as they have a power that could help them find their family. The hat doesn’t know what the power is, just that it’s strong. The hat has felt this power before
- Sapnap brings Eryn to Tommy’s house to teach him about the “dickhead’s house.” They realize that Tommy is there, but Tommy disappears and they freak out and run away
- Karl is here. Bad messages Sapnap on his canonical phone to clean his room, and Sapnap rides Cottonball over to Kinoko
- The power has been used twice before. But this person who’s locked away is bad, everyone’s told Boomer this. But the hat insists that it has felt this same power before from Boomer’s family. Not exactly the same, but similar
- Eryn and Sapnap meet Karl at the mushroom house
- Punz sees Foolish and Fundy, cloaked and riding on horseback, racing by
- With two armored horses in tow on leads, the Syndicate heads off
- Punz and Sapnap get a panda, which Punz says he will happily help Sapnap transport to Kinoko Kingdom. Sapnap is attached to the panda
- The Syndicate reaches the prison, where Phil has set up a hole in the hill for the horses. Phil warns Techno that if the alarm goes off, everyone is coming here. Niki needs to prepare a distraction
- Techno is bringing Apollo with him. They don’t have high hopes for his survival
- Techno leaves the others and goes to the prison entrance. Meanwhile, Boomer and Hannah are roleplaying at the bank
- Sapnap tells Eryn the story of why Dream is locked away in prison as they go to Bad’s mansion. Sapnap shows Michael and Eryn Beckerson, telling them about how Dream tried to take Beckerson away from him to control him, but he still cares for him
-
The Break-In
-
- Techno digs deep underneath the prison, beneath the lava
- Michael says if Dream got fucked up from being in prison, maybe he should be let out. Sapnap tells him Dream was already fucked up, he just got more fucked up after
- Sapnap insists that Dream has to stay in there, because if he comes out...
(Michael asks if Dream should have therapy instead of the prison)
- Techno swims through the lava with Fire Resistance, finally making it to Dream’s cell. There’s a glass wall in front of him. Dream is shocked that Techno came back. Techno even brought a dog
Dream: “I can’t believe you came.”
Techno: “Listen man, I repay favors. Those who treat me with kindness shall see it repaid tenfold, yada yada, previous quote.”
- Techno brought TNT. If he breaks a single block, the alarm is going, so he might as well set it off in style! He tells Dream that Ranboo is also in the prison from Sam, so Dream is going to have to help Techno break him out too
The explosion is set off and the alarm starts to sound. Dream gets out of the cell and Techno hands him things.
- They swim through the lava. Sam shouts at them to go back into the cell. Sam kills Apollo
- Punz tells Hannah and Boomer about how he betrayed Dream and got Dream locked up in prison because Tommy paid him more, and since then Punz hasn’t been around as much as his presence hasn’t been needed
- Punz leaves on Bumpkin to go check his tower
- As Dream and Techno swim, Sam pearls ahead of them. Sam and Bad are there to fight them as they enter the chamber with the documents
---
BAD IS KILLED BY TECHNO.
(But Bad’s canon lives are tied to Skeppy’s, so he did not lose a life)
---
- Sam disappears. Bad is coming back for another try as Techno and Dream continue
- Techno kills Bad a second time and he and Dream swim through the water tunnel
- Sam and Bad block off the entrance and move to the next place
- Dream starts freaking out, insisting that they don’t need Ranboo and can come back for him later. Techno disagrees. They need to get Ranboo too
- Boomer tells Hannah that he can sense things from far away, and he had a vision...blocks in the world are being broken or shifted right now. Important blocks. He keeps looking in the direction of the prison, but...there’s no way
- They break into the lower cells and find Connor there. Connor apparently stole a fake military ID and was caught in a Chik-Fil-A. They find Ranboo in the cells too
- Somebody’s coming, Boomer senses. He’s coming. Sam. Sam is on his way
- Sam shouts at everyone else that Dream is breaking out of the prison and the alarms are sounding, including Tommy. They all come racing over to the prison
- Ranboo and Connor get armored up and join the team
- Boomer and Hannah are still at the bank. Boomer tells Hannah that his hat said that this “Dream” person used a power that was similar to the powers used in Boomer’s homeland. Hannah tells Boomer that Dream is a horrible person, but Boomer still needs to see Dream someday
- Eryn and Michael tell Tommy that they aren’t sure that Dream is all bad. Tommy starts ranting at them about all that Dream has done
- Hannah warns him against seeking Dream out, and Boomer cannot tell Sam about this. Hannah tells Boomer that Warden Sam is different, not to be messed with
- Tina logs on
-
The Escape
-
- Techno and Dream start swimming up and the group starts shooting at them. A fight breaks out. Withers are spawned
- Sam threatens to kill Ranboo if Dream doesn’t come back. Ranboo takes off his armor in front of Sam and drops a picture to Techno. Sam says Ranboo is just a hostage
Ranboo: “He has Michael...”
- Dream shouts that they have to get away, but Techno needs to save Ranboo
Technoblade: (to Sam) “Dream doesn’t care! He does not care! You have the wrong hostage –”
---
CANON DEATH: RANBOO
Cause: Slain by Sam
---
Technoblade: “– I CARE! NO!”
- Techno has had enough. He attacks Sam. Dream shouts that he’ll follow Techno and they need to get out
- The two run away, racing on horseback as Phil joins them and the Wither attacks. Techno shouts that Ranboo died
- Boomer and Hannah see Jack racing by and he tells them that Dream escaped
- Boomer backs away to the bank away from the others. He asks the hat what to do, and the hat says that this is an opportunity. Boomer has to go find Dream
- Sapnap makes it to the Nether portal and chases after Dream and Techno, but he and the other pursuers lose sight of them
- Sam comes running over to Boomer, saying Dream is gone with Techno. Boomer asks why Sam killed Ranboo. Sam simply says that Ranboo was a hostage, and that he was trying to escape. Ranboo was supposed to be in prison. Before Boomer can ask more, Sam runs away
- Dream, Techno and Phil make it to the Arctic portal
- Techno asks Dream how it feels to be a free man. Dream laughs and says he feels great, happy. Techno isn’t happy about Ranboo dying. He wants to go after Sam
- Hannah finds Tina at Kinoko. Tina isn’t sure about her alliances. Boomer tells Hannah about what Sam said
- Techno tells Dream to give the armor back, so Dream does. Techno lets Dream keep the sword and shield as a favor. Dream thanks him – he owes Techno one – and runs off into the snowy wilderness
- Bad, Boomer, Eryn and Hannah gather at the prison. Bad tells Boomer what happened in the prison. Hannah tells Eryn she saw the shrine that he built and tells Eryn that Dream isn’t the person Eryn thinks he is. Sapnap comes over
- Techno speaks with Phil – and Connor comes over! He made it!
-
Punz’s Reunion
-
- Meanwhile, Punz breaks away from the group and travels across the ocean
Punz: “It’s been a long time coming...that took him way longer than it should’ve to uh, break out of that prison. That was not the plan at all.”
...
Punz: (sighs) “I finally get to see Dream again. I was holding off the prison visit ‘cause uh, that’s not where we wanted to meet up again, but...”
- The two reunite in the snowy land, excited to see one another
Dream: “YES! Long time no see, buddy!”
Punz: “I thought the plan was to meet here ages ago! I’ve been waiting for so long to finally see you again!”
- The two laugh, and Punz gives Dream armor. Punz says that being in isolation for so long does a number on people, and he hopes Dream is alright. Dream originally wanted them to meet at the island, but it was too far
- Dream’s time in the prison didn’t go as it should have, but he’s finally out. He doesn’t want the two of them to be seen together, but they’ll talk soon
Dream tells Punz that if he ever sees a sign of some sorts (he didn’t specify what it was), then it would mean that Dream is at Punz’s tower.
- The two part ways, Punz happy as he heads back. Nobody suspects a thing
Punz: “It’s good to finally see him. That green fuckin’ slimeball, dude.”
...
Punz: “The server will finally be back to normal.”
(He ends stream)
- Sapnap needs to go kill Dream. He runs off to keep looking
- Techno, Connor and Niki ring the sell-out bell while Techno tells Niki that Ranboo died
- Techno asks Connor if he wants to join the Anarchists. Connor is down to join and goes to build a house
-
Tommy Goes to Logsted
-
- Tommy is at his house. Dream has broken out, and he’s in a panic. Ranboo comes running by, looking...different?
- Tubbo logs in. Sapnap whispers to Tubbo. He meets the others and tells them he hasn’t been able to find Dream
- Techno has a picture of Michael_Beloved that Ranboo dropped when he died. Phil and Niki know who Michael is, but Techno is confused at why Ranboo and Tubbo are in the painting behind. Techno has to speak to Tubbo
- Sam comes over and the group at the prison confronts Sam about why Dream escaped from Sam’s “impenetrable” prison. Punz rejoins them
- Tommy reaches Logsted to get the Axe of Peace...but Dream is already there with the Axe and full Netherite
- Dream taunts him about Exile and threatens to kill him again and again forever, to revive him each time, asking where Tommy’s friends are now. He starts to attack and Tommy runs for his life
(Dream kills Tommy but it’s a blooper)
- Dream continues chasing Tommy. Tommy spots the Arctic beacons in the distance and makes a break for them
-
Confrontation at Snowchester
-
- Techno reaches the _Beloveds’ house, but Michael is not there
- Ranboo comes over to Hannah and Boomer, who are still at the Dreamon Hunters campsite. Ranboo is dead now, but that’s great! Bad asks him if he wants to go back into the prison. Ranboo wants to walk around, get a lay of the land and make a little shack – maybe out of obsidian! Except this time he doesn’t have to question his sanity
- Tommy gets to the fence and tells Phil what happened, and Phil believes him. Dream is nowhere to be seen. If Dream crosses the border, Phil will defend Tommy. Phil tells Tommy, though, that he helped break Dream out because of the favor Techno owed
- Sapnap makes it to Snowchester and steals the Nightmare armor from the vault
- Phil walks Tommy back to his base to keep him safe. Phil tells Tommy his reasoning for destroying L’manburg, to which Tommy replies that L’manburg was about more than just the materials, but what it stood for – just like the discs stand for victory
- Techno meets Tubbo at Snowchester, saying he comes in peace. He asks if Tubbo knew Ranboo and tells him about Ranboo being taken into the prison, and that Ranboo is now dead. He gives Tubbo the image of Michael
- Tubbo is silent for a long time, then asks how this has happened. The two of them spot Dream running into Snowchester and decide to go watch him and Sapnap fight in the basement
- Karl and Tina gather with Boomer, Bad and Hannah on the Prime Path. Tina got lost on the way there, but they tell her that the fight is already over and Dream has escaped
- In the Snowchester Vault, Dream reunites with Sapnap. Sapnap asks why he got out. Dream tells Sapnap that Quackity was torturing him
- Dream is planning on leaving and getting away from everyone. He turns to Techno, who is there with Tubbo, and says he doesn’t owe Techno a favor anymore. He gives Techno the Axe of Peace
- Techno and Tubbo leave and Dream turns back to Sapnap, asking for his armor. Sapnap tells him that if he wants the armor, Dream will have to take it from him. Dream doesn’t want to fight, he just wants to start over their relationship here
Sapnap: “Bet you George misses you a whole lot...”
Dream: “Yeah, he probably does...”
Sapnap: “Definitely never talks about you, I’ll tell you that much.”
-  Tommy speaks with Ranboo at Tommy’s house, who tells Tommy he died. Tommy is confused and hands Ranboo’s ghost an allium. The ghost is happy, relieved that he doesn’t have to worry about sides and books anymore
- Away from Dream and Sapnap, Techno and Tubbo continue talking about Michael_Beloved. They go into Michael’s house only for Tubbo to realize that Michael isn’t there. Tubbo is in disbelief that Ranboo is dead
- Tubbo tells Techno that Michael is his and Ranboo’s adopted son. Techno and Tubbo need to go on an arc together to save Ranboo’s son while putting aside their differences
- Dream doesn’t even need the armor, it’s sentimental. Sapnap tells him to pay a visit to Kinoko if he even makes it out of this room. Dream pearls out and Sapnap loses him. He tells Karl to get to Kinoko and runs over there himself. Sapnap tells Karl about Dream’s escape
-
Quackity’s Ladder
-
- “Ghostboo” gives Tommy a Rapple. Quackity whispers to Tommy to meet him at the Holy Land and not to bring anyone with him. Quackity speaks with Tommy in the Vape Tower
- Karl is struggling to remember why Sapnap took the armor
- Quackity tells Tommy it’s not about Wilbur, it’s not about Las Nevadas...it’s like the cartel they made when Quackity first joined. Tommy needs to build walls, get armor, put up a fight
- Boomer walks back to his house away from the others. Whatever is going on, he needs to ask Dream about the power. That’s their next move: finding Dream before anyone else does
- Sapnap ends stream in the Kinoko military base
- Quackity tells Tommy not to let his brain be clouded by revenge and hatred
- He hands Tommy black and yellow concrete. This feels familiar, doesn’t it?
Quackity: “Tommy...it doesn’t hurt for someone to have your back. I don’t trust anyone, but I think...I think I’ve learned something, and it’s that if someone’s looking out for you, at least one person, it doesn’t hurt to have that person around, okay?”
- Tommy tells Quackity that their symbol can be a “friendship ladder” that they hold in their hands. Quackity gives him armor
- Tommy hugs Quackity and says goodbye, leaving to go build walls at his base
- Sam meets him there and Tommy shouts at him. Sam gives Tommy an extra guard set and tells him to not die, and to promise that Tommy won’t try and find Dream. Tommy promises (though he had his fingers crossed). He gets to his base and talks to Ranboo’s ghost again
- Tommy canonically looks at a VOD to remember the original walls
- Tommy talks to Ranboo’s ghost some more as he builds the wall, asking why Ranboo was in the prison
- Sam apparently came up to Ranboo saying he knew what Ranboo did, and that he had Michael, then threatened to kill Ranboo if Ranboo didn’t take off his armor, and then he killed Ranboo. Ranboo’s ghost highly recommends it, as death is very freeing
- Ranboo saw Ghostbur in the afterlife, but he was just crying so Ranboo didn’t know how to start up a conversation. He talks about the afterlife as a mushy ball
- They play the Mellohi disc and Tommy sits on the bench
- Hannah decorates for Christmas
-
Jack and Niki
-
- Jack is outside the prison. He monologues about Dream getting out while he walks down the path to L’manburg. Despite everything, he can’t stand back and let people fall victim to their own poor choices
- He doesn’t feel fulfilled, just stupid. He’s come out here and lost everything again. He watches Phil, Ghostboo and Tommy from afar
Jack: “No one sees him like I do. Everyone sees him as the victim. And sure, you can see him as a victim to what Dream did to him, y’know, whatever he did, but the thing is, Tommy took on an entire nation of people who didn’t know what they were getting into, into a war that he couldn’t win, over two pieces of vinyl.”
- He’ll get dragged into the next battle with Dream, he already knows it. Tommy can always gather up an army of people. He just wishes those two would leave everyone else out of their fight, that no one else should have to deal with it
- And yet, even with all that...in that moment, when Tommy turned around and told Jack he needed help...he still doesn’t know if he’s not wrong in not saying yes. There’s still something drawing him back
- He thinks about Niki. When he went off to exile, he’d kind of hoped that Niki would notice that he was gone...and now he hears that Niki was the one who set off the Withers to help Dream
- Jack goes to speak to Niki at her city, asking what she was doing. Niki did what she was told and helped Techno, tried to save Ranboo
Jack: “Nothing is more important than keeping Dream in there and you know that! You know that! If you were with me with Tommy, then of course you’ve gotta be with me on Dream!”
Niki: “...Who knows if we were right with Tommy?”
- Jack asks if she knows where he’s been the past three months. Niki says she’s been waiting. Niki had no way of finding him – but she didn’t even try
- Niki tells him that Jack thinks everyone else are the selfish ones, but Niki has friends now and she’s had to do things too to protect them. Jack could have been there, but he wasn’t
- Niki tells Jack that he can be here, in the safe haven city, where there doesn’t have to be war
- Jack is trying to just be him and not part of a group, but Niki tells him he can’t be himself when he keeps running away from it
- These are the people who took Niki in when she had nobody else. Jack wasn’t there. But Jack has a place here too, and Niki is sorry that she hurt him. Jack will always be her best friend
- Niki walks through the city with Jack following. She gives him some cookies, then hands Jack a book and quill, telling him to write his coordinates there so that she will know where he is and they don’t have to be separate
- Jack thanks her and leaves the city, returning to Manifoldland, but he can’t find Jessbee...he writes down his coordinates, goes back to the city and gives Niki the book
-
Foolish’s Clubs
-
- Later on, Foolish is at the summer home working on the DreamXD statue when he spots Bad approaching far below, making jabs at his work
- He invites Bad to DreamXD’s “friendship club.” Bad is open to the idea, as the last club Bad was in is kicking him out for letting someone dangerous escape. Foolish reminds him of the Egg club, which didn’t go too well either
- Foolish tells Bad that this is different from worshipping the Egg. This time it’s more like a DreamXD fan club! He gives Bad the book to sign
- Foolish says he can tell DreamXD that Bad was the one to come up with the statue idea. Bad is excited by the idea
- After hanging out at the summer home from more, the two leave to go back to Bad’s house to get Foolish some more snow
- Bad shows Foolish his vault of trinkets
- They travel through mining tunnels and come up at Tommy’s summer home Mining Shack. They follow Tommy’s coaster to the safehouse and find the sign Quackity left on Doomsday telling people to let the horse free if Quackity is dead
- The two wander over to Pogtopia because Bad hid little statues of armor everywhere. Bad reminisces on how when everyone was discussing the buttons, he was there watching, how the cobblestone tower outside was supposed to intimidate but Bad and Ant came over and put pink stripes on it
- They find Techno’s old hidden base from his rebel days. Bad has lots of vaults of his own
- They go back to Bad’s house with all of Bad’s secret rooms, then another secret vault deep underground
- Foolish is impressed by Bad’s resoursefulness and drive. He would be a perfect new member for Las Nevadas
- Bad is excited by the idea. He can join another club! He’s open to negotiations. Foolish tells him that the huge casino is about to open up, and that means profit
- As soon as he can, Foolish will let Quackity know. He asks if Bad is enemies with Quackity. Bad says they’re on good terms now. The Egg is in the past
- Callahan appears to slap Foolish and then disappears
- Bad shows Foolish another mini vault, and a hidden chest at Eret’s castle. Bad could make a knowledgable spy. They return to Foolish’s summer home and say goodnight.
---
END OF WEEK RECAP:
11/23 - Foolish recruits HBomb, Corpse, Tina and Hannah for the DreamXD club
11/24 - Foolish works on the statue
11/25 - Friendsgiving
11/26 - Michael’s Radio Broadcast
11/27 - Quackity’s Betrayal (Las Nevadas Finale)
11/28 - JAILBREAK FINALE
---
What happens now?
With Dream now free, Tommy is preparing for a possible attack. Boomer’s hat told him to seek Dream out and that’s exactly what he plans to do.
Quackity has lost Charlie and Purpled betrayed him, but Bad may be a new recruit for the country, with the grand opening of the casino more imminent than ever.
Sapnap needs to defend Kinoko from everything the world has to offer as Karl’s memory continues to deteriorate, with Season Two of Tales in the near future.
Techno is furious at Sam for killing Ranboo. He and Tubbo need to find out where Michael is, for Ranboo’s sake.
Jack may have lost again, but this time he has a friend who knows where he is.
The Syndicate has gained a new member with a fantastic house.
Ghostboo seems to be having a wonderful time.
Dream’s plan certainly did not go as expected, but now that he’s free, he and Punz are back in town, with nobody suspecting Punz’s allegiances. The two have plans to speak with one another again soon...

Finally Home (c!Sapnap x Reader)
I let my twitter followers decide who I wrote a oneshot for, and they wanted c!Sapnap, so here it is :) Written in the span of like... Idk 2 hours?? It’s a soulmate AU where you can feel everything your soulmate feels when you get in a certain distance of them and it gets stronger the closer you get to them. I hope yall like it!!
Word count :  2,701
^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^
There it was again. That burning sensation on the palms of your hands. You didn’t understand where it came from or why it was happening, but it hurt like hell. You wondered if it would ever stop, but you doubted it would. You knew the stories all too well but figured it would never happen to you, and slowly your fears confirmed it as all of your friends got theirs and eventually found their person. A soulmate. The way they talked about how they could feel what their soulmate felt on a physical level. They would feel light brushes against their arms or bumps when the other person would be somewhere busy. All of your friends had found their other halves years ago, explaining that when it happened there was a jolt like electricity in their bodies. After all of your friends had abandoned you, you had given up hope in ever finding your person. So you travelled. For miles and miles and miles, seeing every country, village, and kingdom your empty heart desired. You had lost everyone you loved and couldn’t even find your soulmate.
Then it happened all too suddenly. If you had to guess, it happened when you got within range of the person, so you kept up your pace and travelled. It was an unpleasant sensation. It felt like fire all over your body. At first it was a small stinging, then the farther you travelled, the closer you got to this person, it grew. You would wake up in the middle of the night screaming because of cuts and wounds your other half would experience. You wished it was something as simple as the things your friends had gone through, but this was a nightmare. You wished you could meet this person once and for all just so you could give them a strong right hook to the jaw, then changed your mind as you remembered that you would also feel it.
You knew by the things you were going through that this person was crazy and potentially dangerous with the amount of wounds this person was accumulating through the weeks of you travelling, so you did your best to be delicate. Whenever you would feel a new pain, you would prepare healing potions and drink them in hopes that the other person would also feel the effects. Either that or, if it didn’t feel like a gash or deep cut, you would trace your fingers over the spot gently to sooth the other person to let them know you would comfort them. What you couldn’t stand, though, was the feeling of fire dancing around your fingers. You eventually learned to tune it out and numb yourself to it, so it wasn’t nearly as bad as it was when it started, but it was still painful and annoying.
Then it stopped as suddenly as it started. For three whole days. Three. Days. After the first couple hours of the first day you started to worry. It was rare that you got a single second of rest from this crazy asshole, but three days? Part of you hoped he wasn’t dead, but the other part was happy you didn’t have to deal with scratches, bruises, and burning. But you missed it so much that you wished the burning in your palms returned. Nothing stopped you from continuing on though, even though you had no idea if you were going the right way anymore or not. You used the pain as a guide for weeks to lead you closer, but when it stopped, you lost your physical compass. Something in your heart told you that you were still heading towards them though, so you kept on, this time faster and without much sleep. You wanted to make sure this person was ok, and fast. You watched all of your friends leave you, you couldn’t have your literal soulmate leave you as well.
When the third day ended and you were about to fall asleep, you felt it. The smallest little touch to your cheek you had ever felt. It was out of the blue and you had never felt such a touch come from the other person, so it woke you up instantly. You laid there for a moment, the stroking on your cheek so soft and faint that you wondered if it was even the person at all. Slowly, you lifted your hand to your other cheek and caressed it. The feeling on your other cheek stopped, but the feeling of a hand still stayed there. That’s when you knew it was them. They knew you would feel it, but probably weren’t expecting you to return the feeling to them. The stroking started again, so you stroked your other cheek for them as well. Then it hit you. Why had you never thought of it before? After weeks of knowing you had a soulmate out there, it just now hit you. You sat up from your bed in the little hotel you were staying at and tapped your leg. The feeling on your cheek stopped then you felt the same tap on your leg again. You smiled and pressed your hand down for a second and felt more pressure a couple seconds later.
Then you started. At first it was a smiley face, then letters one at a time to write to the person. You asked their age first. Then you felt the pressure of the person writing back. “20”. You drew yours back, then they drew a smile to confirm they got it. You asked their name. “Nick” they wrote back. Then you wrote yours. You got as much information as you could from this small communication as possible so you could find him easier. After your small exchange, you got up, got dressed, packed your things and headed towards a location called “Dream SMP”. You had seen it on maps before, but it was so far away that you thought you would never get there. You had already crossed oceans, rivers, and mountains for this man, but now you had a new fire to feel. A fire burning so deep in you that it ignited in your eyes. You used all the money and resources you had to get there. You bought boats and horses for the days leading up to your arrival.
After over a month of travelling, you finally made it to the outside borders of what was known as the DreamSMP. The streets were full and bustling with life. Most people smiled and greeted you as a new member, fully accepting you the second you set foot on the land, others scowled or threw hateful words your way, possibly thinking you wouldn’t hear, or maybe they hoped you would so you would leave. You asked around about this person “Nick” and got an overwhelming response of happy chatter and protests of anger, so you left as politely as you could to search on your own.
You felt like it would take forever to find this other person if all of the streets and businesses would be this crowded and overwhelming, until you came across one man standing at the edge of a river with his eyes closed and a smile on his face. His fluffy brown hair flipped up in the front and slightly waved in the breeze, the colors he wore matching his vibe completely. You approached him cautiously at first, but felt comforted by the aura he gave off. You cleared your throat quietly, so as not to startle him, and he opened his eyes slowly to greet you, the lightest shade of blue you had ever seen. He gave you a soft smile and waved you over, so you complied.
For a second, you wondered if this was him, but you took note of his soft, clear looking skin and the lack of electricity as you neared him. When you got next to him, he pointed across the river to a very ornate village sitting on the hills surrounded by flower forests. “Have you ever seen anything so beautiful?” You stared in awe at the mushroom buildings and statue and smiled at him. “I’ve travelled a long way to get here and passed hundreds of kingdoms, but this tops them all,” you replied. He made a noise of agreement and smiled, content with your answer. “Well, tell me, new face, how did you make your way to Kinoko Kingdom, and why are you here?” There was no malice in his voice as he asked and you could tell he was being friendly so you knew you wasn’t being standoffish. “I came to meet my soulmate,” you answered. His eyes went wide and met yours, a look of shock on his face. “Th-that’s you?!” You looked at him, furrowing your brows. How did he know? As if to read your mind, he continued. “I knew he was expecting someone, but, wow… I mean… He’s gonna want to meet you now. He literally hasn’t shut up for weeks about you.” You stammered for a second as he grabbed your hand and started running, barely giving you any reaction time to keep up with him. He was fast and energetic and you liked it. He seemed friendly and bubbly and his touch was comforting.
He weaved in and out of streets and occasional bystanders watching the two of you with wide eyes and gaping mouths. You took it these people didn’t see many new faces, seeing as they were small in numbers. He didn’t slow down until both of you were panting in front of a giant cherry blossom tree in front of the biggest library you had seen. You could hear a loud voice echoing out of the open hole, acting as a doorway. The man next to you put a hand on your shoulder and you looked over at his grinning face. “I should explain before you get in there… My name is Karl and Sapnap, or Nick, is my fiancé. Now before you get worried, we’re in an open, poly relationship and he’s talked to me about all of this and I am 100% welcoming you into our little family.” He gave you a warm smile that reached his eyes so you knew he was being sincere.
A booming shout broke your thoughts and you felt a pain in your toe that almost made you fall over, then loud laughter erupted. You smiled and shook off your foot as Karl motioned you inside, and that’s all you needed to run inside. The space inside was open with books lining the high walls. There was a staircase to your right, a mushroom in the far back, and a balcony above your head. There you saw him. At first he stood there laughing with the other man in front of him, not realizing you were inside, so you stared. You felt something like fire dancing across your skin lightly as you watched him with wide eyes. He was more beautiful than anyone you had ever seen. He had his jet black hair tied into a messy, low bun at the back of his head, a scar across the length of his face that went across the bridge of his nose. He had a light dusting of freckles across his rosy cheeks and the most piercing eyes. The man in front of him caught onto your stare and nudged the man, pointing down at you from their spot on the balcony. When his eyes met yours, a shiver went up your spine and your skin felt hot, like you were now encased in a cocoon of fire. For a moment you both just stared at each other, not being able to move, until you felt a pair of hands push you gently from behind.
That’s all it took to move you. You took off towards the stairs and took them two at a time as he ran to meet you on the landing. You collided into the biggest hug that knocked the wind out of your lungs and almost sent you flying backwards, but he kept you steady. Your eyes welled up for a moment and you laughed into his chest. He smelled like a campfire, fir trees, and old books. He was so warm and your body fit his so perfectly under his arms. You heard footsteps coming up the stairs and a soft touch to your shoulder, a small hum coming from Karl behind you. “Thank god you’re finally here. Sapnap literally would not shut up. He always talked about how soft you were with him when he knew how hard it must have been for you. Weeks. Weeks.” Sapnap reached an arm out to punch Karl, but he dodged easily since Sapnap still hadn’t let you go. You chuckled and closed his eyes as he put his arm back over your shoulder and squeezed you closer to him.
“I can’t believe you’re real,” he whispered into your hair. He squeezed him and smiled. “You thought I wasn’t?” He sighed and relaxed his shoulders. “I thought you would hate me. I’m so reckless and get hurt all the time. How could anyone want me if they feel what I feel?” You pulled back to look him in the eyes and you gave him the most genuine smile you had ever had on your face. “You’re stupid. Of course I would be here. And I will stay here. I’ll take care of all your bumps, scrapes, and stabs. The pain means nothing so long as I know you’re ok.” His pointed ears turn a bright red and he averts his gaze to the floor, so you bring your hand to his cheek gently. At first he flinches, but soon closes his eyes, sighs, and leans into your hand, his lip slightly quivering from such tenderness.
“I do have one question, though.” He hums, not opening his eyes. “Why do my palms always burn? Do you just, like, constantly sit around a campfire?” He chuckles and slowly lifts his head, eyes opening to look at you. He pulls back from you slightly, keeping one arm around your waist as he watches his hand, then back to your face to watch your eyes on his hand. In an instant, his hand is surrounded by fire, the burning in your hand starting up. He must have liked the look on your face because he lets out a snort and then starts laughing, all while you stand there in awe at the power he held. “Holy shit… And… And that’s real fire? Just like that?” You look back at him and he gives you a shy smile and a nod of his head as the fire goes out. There was a sparkle in your eyes that he was absolutely enchanted by and he hoped he would get to see that for the rest of his life. You let out a small huff of amazement and smile brightly. “You are the most amazing person I have ever met,” you say quietly as you watch his features soften as he’s left speechless.
“Oh get a room,” the guy behind Sapnap says, his voice thick with an accent and sarcasm, the sound of a smile in his words. Sapnap looks at the man and points at him, shooting off a mini fire at him. His shirt catches for a second before the man screams and smacks himself to put it out. You laugh as you watch the exchange and Sapnap looks back at you, thinking of how beautiful your laugh sounds. “Well,” Karl starts. “We have a lot to talk about! Ooooooh this is so exciting! We need to know more about you!!” He grabs both of you and pulls you down the stairs and out to the pond next to the tree out front, the sun finally setting over the hills, casting a gorgeous, fiery glow on your soulmate’s features. You couldn’t wait to see what their life was like. To kiss all of his scars and tell him how amazing he was. To run your fingers through his raven feather-looking hair. Oh how you loved this.

*sighs*
Okay, I know it's been over a week since the Red Banquet, but it's been a little less than that since BBH's semi-lore stream where he was really cryptic when asked about if Sapnap, his son, (who was explicitly shown to have recieved not one, but three invites to the banquet), had a canon, important-to-the-lore reason for not being there.
For reference, here's the transcript:
Dono: For the Red Banquet, was Sapnap absent on purpose for the sake of the story? Or was he just not able to make the stream?
Bad: *gasp* Ohh, you're stumbling upon something canon. Some lore.... That very few people picked up on. Think about it, guys. I kept seeing people saying 'Gasp! Bad was gonna sacrifice his son! He invited him to the, uh, the Banquet and he was gonna sacrifice his canonical son!' *stares into camera* ...Was he? Did Sapnap show up? *small gasp* Did Sapnap not show up because he forgot? Or was there another reason why Sapnap didn't show up?
Something that's interesting to me, but probably not important for anything other than dramatic effect, is: cc!Bad changed the perspective for this so that he was facing the camera (I'll embed the clip once I figure out how to. Forgive me I am bad with tech.)
Now, I think we all know that infamous screenshot of Bad liking a tweet where someone talked about c!Bad being willing to sacrifice his own son to the Egg. But I rewatched the transcribed clip from the semi-lore stream just now and a few theories sprang into my mind. The first two are rather sad, but the last one is sweet and puts the father-son relationship on sloghtly better terms.
Theory Numero Uno: What if Bad... Has already sacrificed his son to the Egg?
Being dead is an excellent excuse not to come to a party, after all, and even though he still has all three canon lives (as far as we know), we've seen that those sacrificed to the Egg can take some time to respawn. As for motivation, I could imagine the Egg might have promised to give Bad Skeppy back at the price of Sapnap.
In Bad's current state... I wouldn't put him above this.
Especially since it seems he really is prepared to sacrifice his own son to the Egg (judging by the tweet).
The "Did Sapnap show up?" prompts me to think Sapnap might have been there for the Banquet. If he'd arrived just a half-hour beforehand (aka an entire irl hour before the stream began) that probably would've been time enough to successfully sacrifice him.
TL; DR: He was there that day, only not when we were.
Or, even worse: He was there, but not where we were.
And thus we arrive at my second theory: Sapnap was sacrificed to the Egg, but in a vastly different way than we've previously assumed
He could've been there at the same time as us, and we never noticed.
Maybe it's a Ranboo "blink and you'll miss them walk right by"-kinda thing. Maybe he was lurking about and we just didn't see him, because he was crouched and hiding really well. Maybe he's stuck in/under the Egg, or within the surroundng walls, or the "maze" down there. Maybe he's alone with the Egg's whispers, missing his father, his fiancés, his friends, and wondering why everyone's abandoning him.
He is probably an ideal target for the Eggpire, feeling abandoned and alone. The Eggpire would promise him community and a close-knit family connection.
And Bad, or maybe even just Ponk or Ant, sees an ideal target first and Bad's son second, thanks to the Egg's fiendish whispers.
This theory is supported not only by cc!Bad's cryptic "Was he [going to sacrifice his own son]?" and the whole "Did Sapnap show up?"-thing, but also by the amount of plot-twists in the Red Banquet stream. This twist would fit right in.
Of course, Egged!Sapnap would've been one just waiting in the wings, but I think they purposefully kept him away. - If the Eggpire had Sapnap, one of the best fighters, on their side, they would've wanted to keep him hidden, maybe even unaware of his own "egginess", as a sort of hidden weapon or sleeper agent for dire times, right? Maybe they sent him to assassinate someone. They most probably would've kept him hidden or even sent him away.
Of course, it was a stupid move because they were defenseless when Quackity showed up (imagine the Karlnapity angst if Sapnap were to be egged!), but having Sapnap waiting in your arsenal for your hostile takeover later as a "secret weapon" is a pretty good idea.
And egged!Sapnap doesn't change that the Eggpire would've felt broken and defeated after the Banquet.
But it would open the option of Sapnap granting his father refuge in Kinoko Kingdom.
Which opens up a whole host of other problems.
Side-note: If you are looking for a good fic with Egged!Sapnap (and Sapnap pre-Bad backstory feat. demon!Sapnap - RIP that headcanon, but it'll probably thrive anyways a la the decanonised SBI family dynamic and thank God for that), go read "The Prince clothed in Blood Vines" by RavenFire2908 and the consequent sequels.
Now, for the nice, family-friendly theory: Bad told his son not to come
You might be thinking: "Wait, what? Wouldn't Karl do that? He's seen the Egg's evils first hand at the Masquerade!"
To that I say: You are correct.
BUT: Karl has amnesia and might have been off time travelling to God-knows-when and -where at the time of the banquet. The last lore stream he was on was George's dream post-banquet. (The same goes for Sapnap, btw.) And Karl's not the only person Sapnap's close to who knows the dangers of the Egg.
You see, some of cc!Bad's wording (The slow, ominous "...Was he [going to sacrifice his own son]?" and "Or was there another reason why Sapnap didn't show up?") has led me to believe that there is a possibility c!Bad might have actually warned Sapnap to stay away.
Karl obviously would've supported this venture, but we can only say that for sure when we know how his memory's doing and where c!Karl actually is right now - in his current state, it might just be that Karl doesn't remember the dangers of the Egg and is thusly unable to warn Sapnap.
But Bad still can.
Bad, who maybe, just maybe, doesn't want to lose another loved one to the Egg. Sweet, kind, paternal Bad, who absolutely adores his son.
Maybe he just couldn't sacrifice his son *that* way. He might even have thought death a better fate than being egged, which is why he was willing to sacrifice his son to the Egg by killing him.
(Less-friendly theory: Depending on when Sapnap's segment of the invite stream is set in proportion to the "The Egg is a homewrecker"-stream, it also leaves open the possibility of Sapnap being amongst the referenced things Bad has sacrificed for the sake of Skeppy/the Egg. Ow.)

Lies Travel Faster: Chapter 12
Summary: Sophia Murphy’s life seems to be on the upswing when she takes a job with Birmingham’s notorious Shelby Company Ltd. But when she falls for her boss, CEO and ruthless gangster, Tommy Shelby, she finds herself wrapped up in a tangled web of danger and deceit. After all, lies travel faster than the truth.

The warnings are there, folks, but I feel the need to let you know that this chapter does include explicit mentions to domestic violence.
CHAPTER 12 (read Chapter 11 or start at the beginning with Chapter 1)
Sophie felt his presence before she heard him. She’d come to Arrow House to visit the horses, to get away from the bustle of the city and spend some time in the fresh air. She genuinely thought she wouldn’t see Tommy--assuming she’d be in and out before he returned home. But as soon as she realized he was behind her, she was grateful he’d come earlier than she expected. She needed to see him. Needed to know they were alright.
He cleared his throat as he stood over her.
“Hi,” was all she said, turning slightly and smiling from her seated position.
Tommy sat on the grass beside her, letting out a huff as he lowered himself to the ground. It struck Sophie that Tommy probably didn’t sit on the ground often and she couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight of him in the grass, like a small boy. He placed his forearms on his knees and leaned into her shoulder with his own.
“Hi,” he returned, without looking at her.
They sat there, side by side, for longer than either realized. The air started to fall colder as the sun dipped and Sophie finally spoke up.
“I just miss it, you know? And you said I could visit--”
“Yea, I did, and I meant it,” Tommy interrupted. After a few more moments, he made his move to stand again. “Well,” he said, placing his hands on his knees and forcing himself off the ground. “We better get on with it before it’s too late.” He held a hand out to help her up.
They mounted their horses and started on the path back to the house. About halfway through the ride, Sophie pulled ahead and led them on the scenic route, wanting to stay in that moment with him, freely riding, worries behind her, as long as possible.
____________________
Robert was home when she finally entered the house at half ten.
It was late.
She’d stayed far longer than she’d planned, but she’d had a hard time pulling herself back into the reality that awaited her in London.
“It’s about time,” he said from the dark.
Sophie switched on the lights in the parlor to find Robert lazily smoking a cigar, still dressed but a bit disheveled. Clearly he’d been waiting for hours.
“I wasn’t expecting you home,” she said, as she removed her gloves and hat.
“I’m sure you weren’t.”
Sophie chose not to respond to the obvious jab. She wasn’t going to apologize for having spent time with a friend. She was an adult and could make her own decisions. As far as Sophie was concerned, Robert was going to have to find a way to accept her relationship with the Shelby family.
“Did you know he’s running for parliament?” He asked.
“Wha--Who?” she responded, pretending to be uninterested in the information.
Robert just scoffed.
“Thomas fucking Shelby,” he spat. “Can you imagine? Thomas Shelby, MP? Thomas Shelby in the house of fucking commons?”
“Is that really so radical?” Sophie said, crossing the room now and placing a hand on his shoulder. She hadn’t seen her husband in a week and thought he’d have missed her. She opted to play nice--to give him the benefit of the doubt and allow him an opportunity to say the right things. She bent down to give him a kiss on the forehead, but Robert pulled away--almost disgusted by her presence.
“He’s a criminal.”
“Well that’s nothing new,” she continued, reaching for the whiskey on the sideboard. “So are others.”
“He won’t win.” Robert stood and moved toward her.
“Is that a threat?” She asked without turning to see his face.
He moved close enough to whisper in her ear and moved her hair away from her neck. For a moment, Sophie thought it may be a romantic gesture, but that was quickly shattered.
“And just what the fuck does it matter to you, eh?” He asked in her ear, hatefully.
Sophie didn’t react, despite the elevation of her heart rate and the thoughts racing through her mind.
After she didn’t answer, Robert eventually retired upstairs, slamming the bedroom door behind him.
She stayed up for a few more hours, thinking about Tommy. Parliament? She wondered. Why would he keep something like that a secret?
Then it struck her. Perhaps he was using her. Perhaps his reemergence in her life aligned with his plans to take parliament for a reason. Perhaps his interest in her was really an attempt to disarm Robert. She had known him for nearly a year and had seen him do much worse.
But she was tired of constantly doubting him.
______________________
The names and counts roared out through the hall. Sophie waited on a bench at the bottom of the stairs, conflicted. She knew that one side of her, as his wife, should hope for Robert’s victory. But she’d never been particularly drawn to the idea of playing “dutiful wife.” The other side, the louder one, knew Tommy would come out victorious.
“Ronald Carr, Conservative, 3,412. Bernard Hall, Liberal, 4,015. Robert Ross, Communist, 6,406.”
After a pause, she heard it, “Thomas Shelby, Labor Party, 48,564.” Then uproar and celebration.
The doors to parliament swung open and she watched Tommy emerge victorious.
“I now declare Thomas Shelby to be the new Labor Member of Parliament for the constituency of Birmingham South.”
Most of what followed was a blur.
She remembered Tommy descending the stairs, his friends and family following closely behind.
She remembered that he looked different--like he was ready for the challenge she knew he’d be facing. Tommy Shelby was a lot of things, but stupid was not one of them. He had a plan, she was sure of it, she just didn't know what it could be.
She was pulled from her wandering thoughts when she saw Robert. He followed the other candidates, but quickly pushed through the crowd, clearly taking the loss less gracefully than the others. He violently took her hand and pulled her toward the exit.
Sophie caught Tommy's eyes just as she turned to follow her husband. She mentally steeled herself for what was sure to be a difficult evening.
__________________
At first, Ada incorporated the knock into her dream.
She’d fallen asleep on the sofa after wrestling Karl to bed, not ready to admit that she was tired herself at that point. After the knocking grew to a loud banging, however, she could no longer ignore it.
She opened the front door to find Sophie standing in the rain, large hat pulled down over her face and suitcase in hand.
Ada simply moved back and opened the door for Sophie to enter.
This wasn’t the first time she’d ended up on Ada’s doorstep after a fight with Robert, but it was the first time she’d shown up with bags.
They moved into the parlor without saying a word, Ada heading straight for the bottle of whiskey and two glasses. Sophie sat at the small table while Ada poured them each a drink. When she finally removed her hat, Ada slumped into the chair beside her and let out an exasperated sigh.
“Are you’re leaving him?” She asked, nodding to Sophie’s suitcase.
Sophie just nodded and downed the glass of whiskey in one take, hanging her head back in the chair to allow the fiery liquid a full burn all the way down.
“It’s about time,” Ada said.
Ada was fully aware of Robert’s growing temper, Sophie sharing on more than one occasion about how her new husband was growing more aggressive. She hadn’t however, actually seen the remnants of his temper on her friends skin. Sophie was wearing a large gash above her left temple and a small cut on her right cheekbone. A bruise was blossoming there as well.
Ada tipped up the bottle of whiskey, wetting a napkin from the table and pressed it to the cut on Sophie’s head, eliciting a sharp inhale as she did so.
“What was it?” She asked.
“He backhanded me slamming my head into the wall” Sophie responded, explaining the placement of the injuries.
“Bastard.” Ada shook her head.
Sophie’s response was cut short by another knock on the door, but Tommy entered the parlor before Ada could answer it. He entered the room quickly, lecturing her, once again, to keep her door locked. He’d told her many times before that anyone could come into her home if she didn’t lock the fucking door. He entered prepared for a fight but stopped when he saw Sophie sitting at the table, back turned to him.
She recognized his steps and made eye contact with Ada, shaking her head slightly to signal that she didn’t want to talk to him.
She should have known that Tommy would end up at Ada’s house. He’d just won his seat in parliament and had, no doubt, spent the night celebrating at a number of clubs and pubs. She’d gotten lucky that Ada was even home, and not out celebrating as well. She couldn’t be so lucky as to avoid Tommy as well.
“Sophie just stopped by for a quick visit. What do you need, Tommy?” Ada asked, trying to keep his attention from her friend.
Tommy just looked back and forth between them. Of course he knew something wasn’t right. Sophie had no reason to be at Ada’s house so late at night. And she certainly had no reason to ignore him so boldly.
“Turn around,” he said.
But Sophie didn’t.
“Sophie, turn around.”
This time she turned, standing from the chair as she did so and holding her face high.
“Jesus,” he muttered as he closed the distance between them and reached his hand up to her injured cheek.
The bastard had struck her. Had hurt her. That fucker. Sophie watched his expression change from shock to anger.
“Where is he?”
Sophie tried to look away, but Tommy’s hand held her face steady.
“Where the fuck is he, eh? Tell me,” he continued. “Is he home?”
When she still wouldn’t answer him, Tommy just turned on his heel and headed back for the door. He hadn’t removed his coat, so he moved quickly without anything to slow him. Sophie grabbed at his arm and Ada called for him to stop, but he was determined to find Robert and make him pay.
“Tommy please,” Sophie begged as they moved into the hallway toward the door.
Turning and pointing in her face Tommy said, “Don’t you dare defend him, Sophie.”
She held tightly to his arm, and felt his pulse racing.
No one had ever cared for her so fiercely. No one since Henry had vowed to take care of her so unabashedly. For all his flaws, Tommy had kept his promise to protect her, to avenge her, to care for her, always.
“I’m not. I wouldn’t,” she responded. She reached her own hand to his cheek and stroked it softly. “Tommy,” she said, “I’m leaving him”
“Good,” he said and turned back toward the door. He would pay.
“Don’t do this,” she said, desperately trying to hold onto any part of him.
“Tommy, I need you.”
He took her in fully for the first time since walking into the house. Her face was battered, but her resolve was strong.
She really is leaving him, he thought.
“Please,” she begged. “Stay.”

Summer love – Stephan Leyhe & Andreas Wellinger
I can’t believe I’m posting my first Lellinger fanfiction. But after enjoying all the amazing stories from @loving-sports (which everyone should read ❤️ ), I got inspired to try writing one myself. I hope it’s not too bad. 😝
! I changed their sport careers to make the plot work. Stephan and Markus are in the A-team, Andi and Karl in the B-team.
Summer love – Stephan Leyhe & Andreas Wellinger
Andreas felt pretty lucky. Even though he was only on the B-team, this year he was flying to Spain for the pre-season camp.
Usually, only the A-team got to go abroad to prepare for the next year’s competitions. The rest spent weeks in a hardly posh hotel in a German country where nothing ever happened. After the training sessions, your free time activities were limited to reading, movies or cards if your teammates were feeling adventurous. Which wasn’t as often as one might think.
Suffice it to say that the Bavarian often had to go as far as bribery in order not to die of boredom. His pride and the sneaked-in chocolate stash had suffered. It was ridiculous how utterly boring his friends were.
That’s why he literally jumped from joy upon hearing the news. His head coach was going to miss this year’s camp, and as they were supposed to be leaving in two days there was only one option. The B-team was going to be temporarily supervised by Werner Schuster.
It was most likely only a formality and their assistant coach was going to be running everything, but it didn’t change the fact that Schuster and his boys were going to Spain. Therefore Andreas Wellinger, an eighteen-year-old ski jumper from Rupholding, was going to finally live a little.
Carelessly throwing his clothes into the suitcase, he was imagining all the afternoon surfing that awaited him and hoping the gossip about the famous parties thrown by the star team was true. After all, there was no way he was wasting another summer playing Schafkopf.
Two months later
Okay, so the late night parties turned out to be a total bogus. The A-team, though more eager to chat or go out after the gym, didn’t differ that much from his own teammates.
Still, Andi couldn’t care less if they had watched soap operas all day. He didn’t plan to spend any more time with them than it took to say hello. No, all his free time was reserved for one person. Stephan Leyhe, a twenty-one-year-old Hessian, who was still waiting for his first big success in the World Cup.
Their first meeting was a total cliché.
The B-team has just arrived and was finishing checking in at the reception when the more accomplished sportsmen showed up. Only half-listening to his roommate Karl, as the two walked to the elevator, Andreas was too busy posting his latest selfie on Instagram to notice the man coming from the opposite direction. Until they bumped into each other and his phone fell out of his hands.
“I’m sorry, I got lost in thought,” he heard someone say as he bent down to pick it up.
“It’s all fine, I should have watched where I was…“ he started to answer before lifting his head to find a pair of brown eyes, belonging to a handsome man, staring straight at him. Only after noticing a growing smirk on the older one’s face did he snap out of it with a blush and finished his sentence. “…going.”
“Stephan,” introduced himself the brunette and extended his hand.
“Andi,” responded Andreas, shaking his hand and feeling mortified when his voice came out much higher than normal.
Suddenly, they heard someone yelling: “Stephan! Hurry up or I’m leaving and good luck finding our room.”
“I better go, I wouldn’t put it past Markus to leave me stranded here. It was nice to meet you. Sorry again for running into you,” said Stephan with a grin and started to walk towards his waiting roommate.
Andreas continued to stare stupidly after him until he heard his friend laughing.
“Man, you should have seen yourself. Somebody has a crush!” teased Karl.
“Shut up,” spat out the blond grabbing his suitcase and setting off towards the elevator, not waiting for his teammate.
So, it wasn’t by any means the smoothest introduction he could imagine. Fortunately, he was soon given the opportunity to make a better impression.
After spending the evening unpacking and listening to Geiger’s further mocking, Andreas decided to go to bed early. Having spent the night dreaming about a certain ski jumper with the sweetest smile in the world, he woke up an hour before the alarm. He knew he wasn’t going to fall back asleep and decided to get dressed and head to breakfast.
Having grabbed something to eat, he sat down at an empty table. This early the place was almost deserted with the exception of the hotel staff and an older couple in the corner.
A few minutes later, he was startled from his thoughts by the very person he has been daydreaming about.
“Mind if I sit here?” asked someone stopping by his table.
Andreas looked up from his plate and saw the guy from yesterday staring at him with a friendly grin.
“Go ahead,” he replied quickly.
Muttering “thanks”, Stephan took the place opposite him and began to eat his sandwich.
“So, how are you? Excited to start the season?” asked the older one after a moment of silence.
Andi was a little surprised that the man, who was basically a stranger, decided to join him and wanted to talk. It was far more common for the jumpers from the A and B teams to keep to themselves during the competitions or the rare combined trainings.
On the other hand, the only other option was sitting alone. He silently thanked Karl for annoying him enough to make him go to sleep early yesterday.
“Of course but mainly I’m thrilled to be here. There’s really no comparison to our usual location.”
“Yeah, I remember it all too well,” chuckled the brunette. “Have you just joined your team? I’m sure I would have remembered seeing you during a competition.”
Andreas felt his face turn red for the second time since arriving in Spain. He wondered why his body was betraying him all of a sudden. All the blushing and nerves, when he was usually the loudest person in the room making others feel intimidated not the other way around.
“It’s my second season on the B-team but last year I got injured before I had the chance to earn a spot in a World Cup competition.”
“I’m sorry, that’s always tough. I’m sure you’ll have better luck this year.”
“I hope so. I’m so over the kids' team.”
“Come on now, you’ve got time. How old are you? Seventeen?” asked Stephan laughing.
“Eighteen,” mumbled Andi reluctantly. Did he have to look so young? There goes any chance he had with the brunette.
“Sorry, my mistake,” said ironically Leyhe, sending him a smile to show that he’s joking. “Ok, tell me if Muller is still the physiotherapist…”
When the others started to gather in the room, Andreas looked at his watch and was surprised to see that they have been talking for over an hour. It didn’t matter that they had just met or that Stephan was a little older. They hadn’t brought up any heavy topics, but Andi felt that he could tell him anything and not be judged or mocked.
In the following eight weeks you could rarely see one without the other. As soon as their respective trainings were over, they would meet up and spend their free time together much to the annoyance of their other friends.
Most often they would stroll along the beach, sharing stories and secrets. They talked some more about Andi’s injury and his fear of missing out on a successful career because of the forced break. Stephan admitted to feeling frustrated with his slow progress and insecure about his position on the team during the upcoming World Championships.
Sometimes they didn’t say a word and just enjoyed each other’s company. When Stephan was in a good mood, he would let his new friend teach him surfing despite being pretty terrible at it.
Today was their last day together. Tomorrow the B-team was going to travel home while the others stayed on for another week.
Andreas had finished a few hours earlier than usual at the gym, their coach giving them some time to pack, and was now waiting for his friend in his room.
He tried not to think about the inevitably approaching moment when they will have to say goodbye. At last he had to admit, at least to himself, what he had denied all this time. He has fallen for Stephan. There was no other way to explain his feelings lately.
He wanted to spend every possible moment with his older friend and missed him like crazy on the rare occasions when they went out with their separate teams. His heart was slowly breaking at the thought that after today they may go back to being strangers, sporadically exchanging hellos when passing each other during the competitions.
Of course, there are phone calls and e-mails. They will probably meet at some point during the winter if his results are good enough to start in the World Cup. But how often do long distance relationships work out?
And it wasn’t even a romantic one, just a friendship. As much as he felt like they have known each other for years, the truth was they had met two months ago. Andi felt deep inside that something was ending forever.
Anyhow, his feelings for Stephan were going to stay a secret. He couldn’t imagine telling him. He knew that the brunette, despite his kindness and compassion, didn’t see in him a potential partner but rather a kid brother.
Shaking off his wistful thoughts, he decided to focus on enjoying the evening and after quickly choosing an outfit went to the bathroom to prepare.
Soon they were sitting in a café, eating ice-cream and laughing after Stephan told him about Markus’s another crazy idea. It was almost midnight when they finally got back to the hotel after taking a final walk on the beach.
“I’m gonna miss you,” whispered Andreas, hoping that in these simple words his friend will hear everything he wasn’t ready to say.
They were standing in front of his room, quietly saying their goodbyes so as not to wake up Karl. The blonde tried hard not to cry, not wanting to look like a child again.
“I’m going to miss you too, Andi,” said Stephan and cupped Andi’s face in his hands, pulling the younger one closer and kissing him hard.
Andreas returned the kiss and felt a few tears escape his eyes. They stayed locked together for what felt like hours. Finally, Stephan slowly broke the kiss and wiped the tears from his face.
Not saying anything else, the older man took a step back and left with a sad smile.
Andi entered his room, not bothering to try and stop the tears. All he wanted was to hide under the covers and cry, but he quickly put on his pajamas to avoid any questions from Karl in the morning. He spent the next few hours staring at the ceiling, trying not to think about what happened.
He must have fallen asleep sometime during the night because the next thing he heard was his roommate, yelling at him to get up as they were leaving in half an hour. Feeling numb he got dressed, finished packing and before long they were on the bus waiting for everyone to turn up.
Having chosen a seat with a view of the hotel, he spent the minutes before their departure staring at the main entrance but the one person he wanted to see was nowhere to be found.

How Kaley Cuoco moved on from sitcom past to serve up racy sex scene in 'Flight Attendant'
For Kaley Cuoco, HBO Max's "The Flight Attendant" is 10,000 frequent-flyer miles away from CBS' "The Big Bang Theory." That was apparent during an intimate scene in the limited series involving her title character, Cassie Bowden, and a passenger-turned-lover (Michiel Huisman).
"Network 8 o'clock TV is a little different than HBO Max all hours of the night. I had scenes like that on 'Big Bang,' but this was like a true sex scene. I told Michiel, 'I've never done this before. Have you done it before?' He goes, 'Yeah, like 30, 40 times.' And I was like, 'WHAT?' " Cuoco says during a Zoom interview from the airy suburban Los Angeles home she shares with her husband, equestrian Karl Cook.
To maintain decorum between bedroom takes, Cuoco contorted herself above Huisman, who played Daenerys Targaryen's lover in "Game of Thrones."
"So when they called action, I still wasn't really giving my all," she says. "Michiel finally goes, 'It looks like you're hovering over a public toilet. What are you doing?' I'm like, 'I don't know what I'm doing.' So he had to awkwardly teach me how to have fake sex."
It should be obvious we're not in Leonard and Sheldon's apartment anymore. That's OK with Cuoco, 34, who takes a huge post-"Big Bang" leap as central star and executive producer of the eight-episode, darkly comedic thriller (the first three episodes stream Thanksgiving Day) based on Chris Bohjalian's 2018 novel of the same name.
Although her "Big Bang" character Penny and free-spirited Cassie share traits ("They both love to party"), the flight attendant has more troubling issues: a serious alcohol problem and disturbing childhood memories. And, oh, yeah, a bloody corpse in her bed.
"This is definitely my coming-out party in the sense of showing everyone I can do something other than comedy. It gets quite dark, quite emotional," she says. "This is my way of pushing the door down and going, 'I can do more and I love doing more.' "
She doesn't worry about the enormous shadow cast by Chuck Lorre-produced "Big Bang," a cultural touchstone and ratings blockbuster that ended its 12-season run last year.
" 'Big Bang' is so its own planet, own dimension, own lane. It takes the pressure off because I can never compare anything to that," Cuoco says, acknowledging how "special" the show is to her.
Steven Molaro, executive producer of "Big Bang" and spinoff "Young Sheldon," watched the first two episodes of "Flight Attendant" and was "blown away" by Cuoco's transition.
"It doesn't feel like you're watching Penny. She's a different person," he says, recalling a "Big Bang" scene where her unscripted tears added poignancy. "Between making incredible choices as an actor and being in the moment at the same time, I've never seen anything quite like it."
Nevertheless, fans can't always separate an actor from a career-making role. California native Cuoco considers that with wisdom developed in a long career that includes her first movie credit at age 6; playing childhood versions of Claire Danes' and Ellen DeGeneres' characters in their '90s TV series; working with John Ritter on "8 Simple Rules" as a teen; and joining the final season of "Charmed" a year before her "Big Bang" debut at 21.
"I know that for every person that loves you, there's like 20 that don't. So, I'm very aware of that and I'm ready," she says.
Cuoco started preparing for her future when "Big Bang" was still going strong, creating Yes, Norman Productions (named for her 14-year-old rescue pit bull mix, one of her seven dogs) in 2017 and acquiring the rights to "Flight Attendant."
Cassie's enjoyment of alcohol first plays comically but signals darker underlying issues. (The character chugs airline-size bottles of vodka as if they were water – which, fortunately for Cuoco, they were. She drank so many during the shoot, "I was constantly running to pee.")
A romantic romp through Bangkok turns nightmare when a drunk Cassie blacks out and awakens next to Alex's bloody corpse. That propels her on a roller coaster ride of mistakes and brave but foolhardy risks to avoid arrest, remember what happened and not get killed in the process.
As her life unravels, Cassie relies on fellow flight attendant Megan (Rosie Perez) and attorney Annie (Zosia Mamet), friends who have their own secrets.
Cuoco, who describes her acting approach as "fly by the seat of my pants," asked director Susanna Fogel if she should ditch her "wing it" style and prepare more studiously to play a character dealing with trauma.
"And she said, 'Do not change one thing that has gotten you to this point,' " Cuoco remembers. "I almost cried. It was so freeing."
Cuoco has the skills for the complex role and a personality that lets viewers know they're "in good hands" as she tries something new, says "Flight Attendant" executive producer Steve Yockey, who has story ideas that go beyond the book if the show gets a second season. "She has this effervescence and charm and is very open. But at the same time, she's shrewd in her decision-making. And she isn't afraid to take chances."
Besides "Flight Attendant," Cuoco voices the ribald title character of HBO Max's animated "Harley Quinn," now heading toward Season 3, and she will produce and star in "America's Sweetheart," a half-hour comedy being developed for Apple TV+.
Cuoco, who mentions Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon and Regina King as acting/producing role models, squeezed in a movie, "The Man from Toronto," after "Flight Attendant" wrapped this fall.
When the COVID-19 pandemic shut down "Flight Attendant" filming in March, stalling "workaholic" Cuoco for five months, it provided a personal benefit: She and Cook, whom she met nearly five years ago at a horse show and married in 2018, finally moved in together.
"We bought our dream house a while ago and just with our work schedules – he's traveling with the horses – we couldn't move in," says Cuoco, who has discussed living apart from her husband after more than a year of marriage in past interviews. "With the pandemic, we got to nest and do that whole thing. So it was actually a gift to both of us."
With "Flight Attendant" and "Toronto" completed, Cuoco is home again with plans for more horseback riding, which "keeps me very sane and normal," especially during the pandemic.
Some day, Cuoco envisions making a full go of ranch life with Cook.
"A big part of our relationship is the bond we have with our horses, that lifestyle that we really love. I could see us living in, like, Kentucky or somewhere where we could have a big ranch," she says. "That would be a dream."

Dream SMP Recap (December 6/2020) - End of Week
What started as a sad but calm day ended with a revolution where morality was questioned and blood was shed. The server’s first canon death since the three lives rule was implemented occurred, and all hell broke loose.
Dream’s motivations have started to be laid bare, but whether or not he’s in the wrong or right remains foggy as ever in a world where everyone’s morals are gray.
Also, the prison’s construction continues and some strange red corruptions called “Blood Vines” have sprouted up on the server.
A short summary of the week’s total events is at the end of the post.
---
- HBomb hosts Niki and Wilbur’s L’Cast
- Fundy continues work on the chess board
- Ranboo is leaving a book with messages to communicate with Tommy
- Fundy and Ranboo visit Tommy and help him through the Nether to find blaze rods. It’s a very...interesting...time... Fundy fills Tommy in on the fact that Dream is officially recognizing L’manburg as a country.
- Tommy falls in lava and loses all his stuff
- Then he burns to death
- Then he falls in lava and loses all his stuff again
- He FINALLY gets an ender chest
- Lazar asks him for help since he’d fallen in lava and needed help getting out. As Tommy does so, Lazar questions why Tommy hasn’t turned against L’manburg. Tommy says it’s because Tubbo is there, but Lazar points out that Tubbo was the one who exiled him.
- Ghostbur comes on and says he has a gift.
- Tommy attempts to rescue Lazar from the depths of the lava pit. Techno starts arguing with him.
- Tommy falls in lava and loses all his stuff again. He gives up on helping Lazar, who is understandably annoyed at him.
- Philza joins the call wondering wtf is happening and why Tommy keeps dying, but Tommy just ends stream
- Psyche! After credits scene. Ghostbur asks Tommy to return to Logstedshire so he dies in lava to fast-travel back. Ghostbur gives Tommy a lodestone compass named “Your Tubbo” that points back to L’manburg at all times. Tommy puts the compass in his ender chest right next to the discs, saying he’ll keep it close to his heart.
- Thunder’s frustrated that Tommy got exiled exiled because the Prank War he was setting up between Dream and Tommy can no longer happen and Thunder’s great villain arc has been cancelled - he is no longer a villain now.
- Now, he wants to do the clay prank to George instead to try and get Dream and George to turn on each other as revenge for Dream burning his house.
- Puffy builds Tommy a second Christmas Tree.
--- Note: From this point on I tried to include more specific details than normal since it’s an important and confusing event ---
- Quackity declares war on the Dream SMP from Mexican L’manburg. He gets George, Sapnap and Karl on to help. He’s rigged TNT under Eret’s castle bridge and wants to invoke the same ideas as the Mexican Revolution. He wants to put M.L. on the map by staging an assassination and using George’s dethronement as an excuse to start a political movement.
- Sapnap wants to take on Technoblade but Quackity tells him that they have to take things step by step and that it’s an extremely bad idea to do it now.
- Eret asks Hbomb to be one of his knights. HBomb agrees.
- George wants his kingship back
The explosion goes to plan with H and Puffy as witnesses.
--- ---
CANON DEATH: KARL
Cause: Death by explosion and falling
--- ---
- George distracts Eret while Quackity, Sapnap and Karl steal his throne. Punz joins Eret’s side as one of his other knights.
 - The M.L. side reconvenes in L’manburg and drink invisibility potions. Dream is in Mexican L’manburg. He is tearing the dirt to shreds. Meanwhile, Eret gives a speech to his Knights as they head to Party Island. Dream, alone, is invisible in Boomerville.
- Sapnap gets Dream to log (he says it’s lag). The Dream SMP faction blows up M.L. with TNT. The Mexican L’manburgians kill Puffy.
- They want to head to the Holy Land. Dream says he wants to talk. They collect at the Church.
- They argue. Dream threatens to kill Quackity permanently and make sure Mexican L’manburg can never rise again. (Also Karl’s acting is genuinely good holy shit)
- Sapnap tells George that he thinks Dream has completely turned against them, and that they’re better off disowning him.
---
Dream: “You’re painting me as this tyrant when I’m just trying to maintain peace.”
He refers to it as his castle, his throne. He calls the people of M.L. “terrorists.”
---
He says that in his eyes, Mexican L’manburg does not even exist, and that he’ll speak to Tubbo about making sure he sees that it doesn’t exist as well.
M.L. argues that putting a human life above a few blocks of gold is more important.
Dream refers to himself as the “ruler” of the Dream SMP, the “leader,” letting it slip that “king” is a meaningless title.
He says that Quackity is causing the most problems, the number one “enemy” of the SMP right now. Similar to how he referred to Tommy defying him.
He says that Quackity is not like Tubbo, who is a “fair, just ruler” and that is why New L’manburg is recognized and Mexican L’manburg is not. Tubbo would never do what Quackity did. Wilbur and Jschlatt and Tommy would. He says that he waited until New L’manburg had a reasonable leader to recognize it.
- “Un-killing” is implied to be a thing, where the person who gave you your canon death can take it back.
---
Dream: “The king is a figurehead and he knows that!”
Eret: “I do.”
Quackity: “So that’s what you are Eret -- a puppet--”
Dream: “Yes! -- no he’s not a puppet-- h-he has no power and I have - and - it’s the same thing and--”
(Dream proceeds to deny Eret being a “puppet”)
---
- Quackity decides to dissolve Mexican L’manburg for a clean slate and call it something else. He wants the server to have a precedent of establishing new countries without having to go to Dream for recognition every time.
- Eret agrees to recognize Quackity’s new country if they apologize and return the throne.
--- ---
CANON UNDEATHING: KARL (?)*
* Dream says that the death is still canon later since plot was based around it. I don’t know what Karl considers his death count to be?
--- ---
- Sapnap declares that he no longer wants to fight Techno but Dream instead. He says he wants to slay Dream in front of everyone.
- Overall, Dream and Eret declare it a “failed coup” and say that the destruction is just a consequence of “what happens when you don’t plan anything” but Quackity is satisfied that his new country has been “put on the map.”
- Quackity declares the country to be named “El Rapids” in honor of Cedar Rapids.
- Punz no longer wants to be an official Knight.
- Quackity misses Ghostbur and wants to speak with him. He tells Ghostbur about the war. Ghostbur asks if it was a revolution - Quackity says yes! Ghostbur also informs Quackity that he burnt the sacred texts - How to Sex 2 - in lava.
- Karl streams with the intention of rebuilding and preparing for Pokimane’s visit
- Karl steals Eret’s Museum Llamas and gets caught in the act. Fortunately this doesn’t spark up the war again. They take a llama to Party Island.
- They get into trouble at Boomerville and Lazar joins.
- Dream comes online and asks Sam about the prison’s progress. Bad gets annoyed at Sam for destroying the beachfront property value, and he didn’t authorize the seizure of the land. Dream is there helping to shovel but Bad wants him to stop. Bad is angry about the prison being built and starts shouting at Sam.
- Bad tries to negotiate with Dream. Dream refers to the prison as containing a “prisoner.” Singular. And that the prisoner would have nothing, and Bad would be in charge of helping to guard it. There are going to be multiple “layers.”
- The prison will be in the middle of the ocean bit, and Bad would have a terraformed beachfront property. All of the land would be considered property of the Badlands - including the prison.
- People are going to have to go through PORTALS to escape the prison.
- Bad starts to come around to the prison idea. Dream tells Sam he thinks they need more hands to help, potentially Ant and Eret.
- A strange, giant red “egg” has appeared in the corner of Bad’s statue room. He feels a strange aura coming from it, and he’s unable to bring himself to break it.
- Dream says Eret can’t help with the prison but he can help make the beach nicer. Bad says he might want to put Tommy in the prison but Dream says no, Tommy’s already exiled. So the prison isn’t for Tommy.
- Once the prisoner is in there, Dream says they would only be able to be let out “by the server.” It’s got certain secrets that only Dream and Sam know about. Sam says that he could potentially escape from it, but it will be so impenetrable that even if you know the secrets it would still be difficult to escape from.
- Bad shows Dream the Egg. Dream gets creeped out by it.
- Another Red Corruption has appeared near Hutt’s Pizza, and another at the Mansion. Everyone swears that it wasn’t there before, and there wasn’t enough time for someone to place all of it manually in the time that they were down there.
- Bad stabs Dream for trying to “hurt it.” He likes it for some reason.
- Bad asks Dream about who the prison’s for. Dream says “if you can’t kill somebody, you need to lock them up.” He mentions that it’s one of the more powerful people on the server, someone who either provides a threat now or in the future. He has someone in mind.
--- ---
Dream explains to Bad and Sam that the reason he switched sides in the Manberg-Pogtopia War was because Schlatt gave him something.
And that thing is “a card up his sleeve” until he needs it.
A book of great value.
It puts Dream in danger if people know of it, but also gives Dream power.
The “most valuable thing on the server.”
Something pertaining to the prison.
Something where they wouldn’t believe Dream if he told them what he was given.
--- ---
- The corruption grows AGAIN despite Dream, Sam and Bad all being in the middle of the ocean
- Another corruption appears on Tommy’s Power Tower
- The water level in New L’manburg has risen again, covering George and Quackity’s mushroom house
- The prison is going to be as tall as a MOUNTAIN
- Dream proposes the idea of Bad giving him the disc to piss off Tommy. Bad says that Skeppy has it so he’ll have to ask some other time. He might trade some information about Schlatt’s book in return for the disc.
- Bad says he likes the name a dono came up with for the corruption -- “Blood Vines”
- Dream and Sam removed the Blood Vines on the Mansion to Bad’s dismay. Sam burns the Vines and Bad goes on a murderous rampage against him.
- Technoblade got a “Bee our guest” achievement
- Dream burns down the Eiffel Tower again.
- The prison will be reinforced with 15 layers of obsidian, and the guards will have Ender Pearl Stasis Chambers that are alarm-activated.
- The Blood Vines have sprouted up from Schlatt’s Grave.
The prison’s unofficial name as of right now is “Pandora’s Vault,” but it is subject to change.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media

What now? Migrants disembark in Europe to uncertain future
As the weary passengers aboard a rescue ship approached Sicily at the end of an agonizing journey from North Africa, 30-year-old Seke Awa called a friend back in Libya the moment she got cellphone reception.
“I told her we are on the big boat and sent her courage, that she needs to have hope. One day her suffering may end,” said Awa, a native of Cameroon. “She was crying.”
A total of 182 people, rescued a week ago from fragile boats off Libya’s coast, arrived in Italy on Tuesday, filled with excitement and hope, but also myriad questions about what comes next.
Will they be allowed to stay in Europe? If so, in which country? And will they have a choice? Can they go to school even if they are adults? How much does a SIM card cost?
Nelson Oyedele, 37, said he fled violence and poverty in Nigeria with his wife and four small children.
“I don’t know where I’m going to end up, I’m just going,” he told an Associated Press reporter on the Ocean Viking, a Norwegian-flagged rescue ship run by the humanitarian organizations Doctors Without Borders and SOS Mediterranee. “My daughter says she wants to become a doctor. She could never become a doctor back in our country. Maybe here she will.”
Oyedele was the only man on the ship traveling as part of a complete family. The rest had left behind wives, husbands, children and parents in their home countries, mostly in sub-Saharan Africa.
Abdul Kerim, 20, said he fled persecution in Togo and wants to reunite with brothers and aunts living in Germany. He hopes to be granted asylum and is open to any kind of work, though he dreams of having his own construction company.
“I will work for Europe and give all I have,” he said. “If possible I would like my family to join me.” His wife and 2-year-old son are still in Togo.
However, Kerim and others disembarking in Messina will have no control over where they end up. Their fate will be decided in negotiations among a few European countries that agreed to take them in.
Asylum is typically reserved for people fleeing war and persecution. People escaping poverty in West Africa rarely qualify. In Germany, only 6.5% of Nigerians whose asylum cases have been decided this year received some sort of protection. For Syrians, it was nearly 84%.
The migrants on the Ocean Viking came from a number of countries, including Sudan, Cameroon, Guinea, Mali, Egypt, Morocco and Bangladesh. As they arrived in Messina, their immediate worry was contacting loved ones for the first time since they left Libya, where rape, torture and abuse are widespread at the hands of smugglers demanding ransom payments from the migrants’ families.
The Ocean Viking docked in Messina after receiving permission to enter Italy, a country that until a change of governments this month had closed its ports to humanitarian rescue ships, saying their activities encouraged human smuggling. Police and Red Cross workers waited for the migrants on shore.
As they approached Sicily, the passengers marveled at a gargantuan cruise ship docked on the Italian mainland across the Strait of Messina.
“Is there a hotel inside?” asked one of the men watching the floating behemoth from the deck of the much smaller rescue ship. “It’s so amazing,” said another. The children waved incessantly.
Halfway across the world, on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly in New York, members of the Italian government said most of the migrants on the Ocean Viking would be sent to other European countries.
They called for a permanent European solution to migrant arrivals, instead of the current practice of dealing with the issue ship by ship. They said they also intend to make it easier to return migrants who don’t qualify for protection in Europe.
Premier Giuseppe Conte said Italy will soon deliver “good news about a much more effective repatriation system at a European level. Italy is preparing for a decisive turning point.”

The street ahead: How we'll get to 54.5 mpg by 2025 Obama needs to twofold the avg. fuel productivity one decade from now—extreme, yet doable.
At the finish of August this year, the US Department of Transport's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) declared new guidelines to fundamentally enhance the mileage of autos and light trucks by 2025. A week ago, we investigated a scope of late motor advancements that auto organizations have been conveying in help of better fuel effectiveness today. In any case, shouldn't something be said about the autos of tomorrow, or one week from now? What do Detroit, or Stuttgart, or Tokyo have holding up in the wings that will get to the Obama organization's objective of 54.5 miles for each gallon (mpg) by 2025?
The issue is memorable
Whatever the innovation, it will include gas for at any rate the not so distant in the US. Car history helps us comprehend why. Creator and columnist LJK Setright educated us "we require scarcely stress regarding who imagined the engine auto." While there are a few innovators to whom the primary horseless carriages can be credited, Setright had a moment that drawing the beginning line through 1885 and Karl Benz's gas-controlled three-wheeled machine. Victorian and Edwardian auto creators drew on an extensive variety of powers and motors. On the off chance that a man in the road then anticipated the following century, it wouldn't have been preposterous to expect a different vehicular scene. In those days, electric autos were showcased to ladies as they neither emitted billows of fumes nor required somebody solid to wrench the motor over (the development of the electric starter engine completed this component off). By 1900, Thomas Edison was prepared to pick this innovation as the champ.
Power may make a rebound now, yet it was the inner ignition motor—fueled either by gas or diesel—that made vehicle what it is. Not at all like steam, drivers didn't have to stop for substantial fuel to consume or to best the water for their boilers. In those days, much like today, batteries didn't charge sufficiently quick or contain enough vitality to address the greater part of our issues. Be that as it may, fluid hydrocarbons are modest and simple to concentrate, they have great vitality thickness, and don't require high weight control. So for over a century, the framework to bolster the gas-controlled auto developed over the globe.
Obviously, consuming hydrocarbons isn't without issue. They are a limited asset, one we're hauling out of the ground substantially quicker than it brought to get down there in any case. A large number of the wealthiest stores are controlled via absolutist or generally offensive administrations, whereupon another country won't not wish to depend. And after that there's the waste issue: nitrogen mixes can bring about respiratory sickness; lead added substances influence advancement; and the enormous one, carbon dioxide, drives environmental change. In spite of these issues, the profundity of framework to bolster the fuel motor is with the end goal that, for a long time to come, choices like hydrogen or even power will stay exceptionally specialty decisions.
The MPG condition
The rudiments of today's motors may have been assembled over 130 years back, yet that hasn't prevented architects and researchers from finding better approaches to travel facilitate on a similar gallon. That advantages drivers who need to pay to top off their tank, and in addition to society on the loose. It's the reason governments are utilizing contrasting ways to deal with increment fuel productivity. In Europe, that is for the most part by means of heightening gas charges, however here in the US we have the Corporate Average Fuel Efficiency (CAFE) regulations.CAFE was presented taking after the oil emergency in 1979 coming about because of the Iranian upset. It begun with an unassuming objective, a unimportant 18 mpg, something even the Ford Model T was equipped for accomplishing. Bistro expanded normal fuel productivity over various years, up to 27 mpg in the mid-1980s, however the 1990s saw both oil costs and the possibility of the US government practicing administrative power both drop like stones. There we mulled, until rising oil costs and developing assessment about the need to address environmental change interceded (such are the troubles of getting anything going in Washington, DC). It was really the auto organizations that moved first this time around, detecting that stingy punters may react well. DC took after, and in August 2012, the administration distributed new CAFE directions that will raise normal efficiency to 54.5 mpg by 2025—twofold what they were a minor two years back (you can locate an intriguing infographic demonstrating the most recent 100 years of mileage here.)
Presently, take note of that what CAFE says is a 54.5 mpg auto and what the EPA says is a 54.5 mpg auto are not by any stretch of the imagination a similar thing. For a certain something, CAFE gauges apply to, and are computed for, an organization's whole item lineup in light of an entangled equation. That isn't the same as the recreation of as far as anyone knows genuine driving conditions that the EPA employments. Likewise, inside that item lineup, autos with a littler impression (say, a Mini) are required to show signs of improvement mileage than bigger vehicles (your trucks or SUVs). Along these lines, in 2025, an auto with an impression of 41 sq. ft or less will be relied upon to convey 61 mpg under CAFE, yet just 43 mpg as per the EPA. At the flip side of the scale, a truck with an impression more noteworthy than 75 sq. ft just needs a CAFE rating of 30 mpg, or a negligible 23 mpg from the EPA. All of a sudden it appears as though we're not notwithstanding asking that much!At this point, some of you may think "there are a lot of fuel-effective autos, however they're all little and at a bargain in Europe!" Euro auto geeks are yet a modest minority inside these incredible United States. Most auto purchasers, regardless of whether they're in Manhattan, New York, or McAllen, Texas, are not going to arrange for VW Lupos or Renault Twingos—regardless of the possibility that they can do 70 mpg. Be that as it may, that is an issue of taste—how about we stress over the innovation first!
How the enchantment may happen
The principal innovation to consider is begin stop. It's apparently a present innovation, in any event in Europe where I've been unable to lease an auto without it. Truth be told, you could even get a VW Golf furnished with an early framework as far back as 1994, however they didn't offer well. Since this is a US-driven site and begin stop is just barely starting to touch base on US streets, it tallies.
Begin stop is intended to spare gas when it's as a rule most squandered, which is the point at which the motor is running yet the auto is stationary (i.e. in a road turned parking lot). Basically, when the auto stops, the motor removes. At the point when it's an ideal opportunity to propel another auto length, the motor refires and the driver carries on their joyful way. One explanation behind the predominance of begin stop in European autos, and its late landing on these shores, is the inclination our mainland cousins have for manual transmissions. That is on account of ceasing the motor when the auto is stationary is the simpler part.As we examined to some extent one, auto motors are comprised of numerous segments with dormancy and force. This implies they can be begun rapidly, yet not momentarily. It's less of an issue with a manual transmission, as choosing first rigging from nonpartisan refires the motor (by and by—I've thought that it was' still awfully simple to slow down when attempting to move rapidly). In any case, organizations like Ford discovered it wasn't exactly that basic with programmed transmissions.
So as to keep the gearbox's water driven weight up, Ford fitted an electric pump. Likewise, to limit the postponement between the driver needing to shoot into an opening in activity and the auto moving, the transmission is kept in apparatus as opposed to dropping to impartial at a stop. "We needed to build up some remarkable control calculations for the motor and transmission to beat this obstruction and still guarantee a to a great degree snappy, smooth, and calm restart," said Birgit Sorgenfrei, Ford's Auto Start-Stop program director.
Furthermore, to keep the bad dream situation of autos stranded in car influxes with dead batteries, the control programming likewise screens the electrical deplete on the auto (from AC, sound, headlights, and so on.) and handicaps begin stop when essential. While begin stop doesn't offer much in the method for advantage with regards to the EPA's fuel effectiveness computations, in city driving, such a framework ought to have the capacity to understand a gas sparing of up to 10 percent. Not excessively shabby, but rather still not 54.4 in the close term. What would be the best next step?
The car business has concocted a lot of approaches to build the productivity of existing motors. Tragically, to diminish fuel utilization and emanations to the low levels of future models, we can't simply depend on incremental changes—totally new sorts of inner burning motors should be produced. Luckily, the examination and modern group has known this for as far back as couple of decades. They've been working diligently thinking of these.
Before discussing the new motor ideas, first we'll delve somewhat more profound into how customary motor sorts function to comprehend their constraints.
Gas? Diesel? What's the distinction?
Gas and diesel motors contrast basically in how the blend of fuel and air are touched off: gas motors depend on a start, while diesel motors light just utilizing pressure to raise the temperature and weight. (Consequently the expressions "start" and "pressure start" used to portray the motor sorts). Both utilize four-stroke motor cycles—the distinction is in the burning.
Without getting into the bare essential of the motor cycles and some mind boggling thermodynamics conditions, in a perfect world a fuel motor (the Otto cycle) would really be more effective than a diesel (the Diesel cycle) every single other thing being equivalent—for the most part, the pressure proportion. Tragically for drivers of gas controlled autos all around, the propensity of fuel to suddenly touch off, or thump, at higher weights and temperatures constrains the pressure ratio.

Beyonce baby advice and Dakota Fanning's 'Fifty Shades' of learning
Drawing from her own experience, singer Celine Dion is offering some helpful advice to Beyonce, who will soon be a mother of twins like Celine is. While Beyonce is still in the midst of her pregnancy, Celine has been raising her twin boys Eddy and Nelson for the past 6 years. Therefore, in a recent interview with E! News, Celine directed some insight Beyonce’s way about what life is like with twins running around.
Celine told the media outlet, “I think it’s a double blessing. I have twins. I think she’s covered. She’s been in the business for so long; she’s got her own people…When she does something, she knows what’s she's doing. She looks amazing. She makes women dream. She’s so beautiful. She’s on top of things….I love you, Beyonce. I wish her the best.” The legendary Canadian-born songstress went on to add, “It’s going to be hectic in the house, but she’s fortunate enough that she can have all the people that she wants to help her, but no one will ever replace a mom, and she’s a great mom. I’m pretty sure of that.”
Beyonce has already had to divert her plans in order to facilitate her yet-to-be-born twins. Just a few days ago, it was announced that the Lemonade artist would no longer be performing at this year’s Coachella festival. While this announcement inevitably disappointed a lot of fans and ticket-holders, Bey’s team did promise that the singer would headline the music festival in 2019.
Beyoncé was overheard telling guests at a pre-Oscars bash on Saturday night that she and Jay Z will know the genders of their expected twins “in two weeks,” sources have told multiple media outlets. “She was telling people they’ll know the genders of the babies in two weeks,” said a source at the party, where Beyoncé and her hip-hop mogul hubby were surprise guests. But it’s unclear whether the singer was just being coy when asked about the genders, which can usually be known between 16 and 20 weeks or chosen in cases of in vitro fertilization. Fans have been rabidly searching for clues — from a recent Jay Z song with the lyrics, “I want a boy and girl,” to Bey’s father saying in an interview that his granddaughter, “Blue is gonna have brothers and sisters,” which only stoked further speculation that the couple’s having a boy and girl.
According to actress Dakota Johnson, being part of the intimate franchise Fifty Shades of Grey has been an “educational experience” for her. The series, which is based on the best-selling book series by author E.L. James of the same name, has drawn ample buzz over the past few years. While the franchise is undoubtedly out there and controversial, it seems like a bit of a stretch to call it “educational” on any level. However, while walking the 2017 Oscars’ red carpet, Dakota told E! correspondent Ryan Seacrest that she has learned a lot while working on the racy Fifty Shades set.
When asked by Ryan about what some of her takeaways have been from playing Anastasia Steele in the franchise, Dakota gushed, “It has been a very educational experience, both professionally and personally.” The 27-year-old actress went on to add, “I’ve gotten to deal with certain things in a more grown up way. I have a better outlook on certain parts.”
Although Dakota was an attendee at this year’s Oscars, her franchise (Fifty Shades) is certainly not the type of film to receive any Academy Award recognition. In fact, the first film received a notable amount of criticism from both audience members and movie critics. However, this did not stop the studios from going ahead with the second installment, Fifty Shades Darker. The sequel film, Fifty Shades Darker was just recently released into theaters, on February 10th, 2017. Unfortunately, it is not fairing any better than its predecessor (Fifty Shades of Grey) amongst movie-goers and critics.
Viola Davis won the best-supporting actress Oscar Sunday night for her performance in Denzel Washington’s “Fences.” “You know there’s one place where all the people with the greatest potential are gathered, and that’s the graveyard,” Davis began her acceptance speech with fervor. “People ask me all the time — What kind of stories do you want to tell? And I say, exhume those bodies. Exhume those stories.” She continued, “I became an artist and thank God I did because we are the only profession that celebrates what it means to live a life.” The actress then began a long list of thanks with August Wilson, (“… who exhumed and exalted the ordinary people”) and Washington (“O captain, my captain… Thank you for putting two entities in the driver’s seat — August and God. They served you well.”). Voice cracking with emotion, Davis thanks her parents, sister, husband and daughter. With the award, she became the first black actor to win an Oscar, Emmy and Tony award for acting. It was perhaps the evening’s safest bet, as Davis had dominated the precursor circuit, winning 20-plus critical honors, the Screen Actors Guild prize, the Golden Globe, the Critics’ Choice award and the British Academy award as well. After a surprising loss for her performance in “The Help” five years ago, a narrative of Davis being due had no doubt coalesced. But Davis’s performance was powerful and deserving regardless. After all, she already won a Tony Award for the same role, albeit in the lead category. She, in fact, becomes the second person in history to win a Tony and an Oscar for the same role but in different categories. The first was “The King and I” star Yul Brynner. Mahershala Ali made history at Sunday night’s Oscars, becoming the first Muslim actor to win an Academy Award. He won the first award of the night, best supporting actor, for “Moonlight.” It was one of the more uneasy races in the major categories. While Ali had been the critics’ champ and won the Screen Actors Guild prize, he lost the Golden Globe (Aaron Taylor-Johnson in “Nocturnal Animals”) and the British Academy prize (Dev Patel in “Lion”) to other contenders. In the end, the “Moonlight” star pulled it out. During an emotional speech, Ali thanked his “wonderful teachers and professors,” and shared with the audience some advice he received from them: “It’s not about you, it’s about these characters. You are a servant. You’re in service to these stories and these characters.” He also thanked his wife, who just gave birth a few days ago. “I just want to thank her for being a soldier through it all and carrying me through this process,” he said of awards season. The milestone comes after President Donald Trump imposed a ban denying travelers from seven Muslim-majority countries entry into the U.S. The controversial executive order has sparked protests across the country. While Ali did not bring this up during his speech Sunday night, after he won a SAG Award earlier this year, he proudly declared, “I’m a Muslim.” “Moonlight” is up for several more awards Sunday night, including best picture. “Manchester by the Sea” star Casey Affleck is shooting a film in the wilds of Canada and says he’s looking forward to a break. “I am in the middle of doing a movie now that I would like to finish … and then I’ll just take it easy for a little while,” he said after winning a Film Independent Spirit Award. He’s filming “Light of My Life,” while he’s also been on the awards circuit. He added, “It’s easy to be dismissive or mock entertainment awards shows, but I do not feel that way. I just hope Jimmy Kimmel doesn’t make fun of me too much.”
He did it! Kevin O’Connell did it! After being nominated for sound mixing 21 times, O’Connell finally won an Oscar for his work on Mel Gibson’s “Hacksaw Ridge.” (He had held the record for most nominations without a win.) After thanking the director, O’Connell, who has said previsouly that he had written a speech for each of his previous nominations, only to return home empty-handed, had a heartfelt note prepared. “A special thank you tonight to my mother Skippy O’Connell who 39 years ago got me a job in sound,” he said and recounted what his mom said he could do to thank her. “Some day you go win yourself and Oscar, and you can thank me in front of the whole world.” “Mom I know you’re looking down on me tonight,” O’Connell said. “So thank you.”
Meryl Streep is probably the last star in Hollywood you would expect to be involved in a public feud with a fellow celebrity. However, this is exactly what happened after Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld said that the actress demanded to be paid to wear one of his designs on the Oscar red carpet. In an interview with Women’s Wear Daily, Karl revealed, “I made a sketch, and we started to make the dress [for Meryl].” The legendary fashion mogul went on to explain that he received a phone call from someone on Meryl’s team, who told him to stop making the dress unless he was willing to pay Meryl to wear the design. Karl ranted, “After [we at Chanel] gift her a dress that’s 100,000 euros [$105,000], we found later we had to pay [for her to wear it]. We give them dresses, we make the dresses, but we don’t pay.” Inevitably, Meryl faced ample backlash on all of the main social media channels, as people reprimanded her for asking for compensation as well as a free dress from Chanel. This prompted Meryl’s team to quickly respond to Karl’s allegations and release a statement accusing the designer of fabricating the story. Meryl’s rep told media outlets that the story “is a complete lie. Ms. Streep would never wear anything in exchange for payment of any kind. It is against her ethics and simply is not true.” Just hours after Meryl’s initial response to his interview with WWD, Karl released a statement, in which he backtracked on some of his previous bold claims. The designer said, “Chanel engaged in conversations with Ms. Streep’s stylist, on her request, to design a dress for her to wear to the Academy Awards. After an informal conversation, I misunderstood that Ms. Streep may have chosen another designer due to remuneration, which Ms. Streep’s team has confirmed is not the case. I regret this controversy and wish Ms. Streep well with her 20th Academy Award nomination.” To ensure that people heard her side of the story, Meryl went on to release a personal statement as well. The Devil Wears Prada star explained, “In reference to Mr. Lagerfeld’s ‘statement,’ there is no ‘controversy.' Karl Lagerfeld, a prominent designer, defamed me, my stylist and the illustrious designer whose dress I chose to wear, in an important industry publication. That publication printed this defamation, unchecked. Subsequently, the story was picked up globally, and continues, globally, to overwhelm my appearance at the Oscars, on the occasion of my record-breaking 20th nomination, and to eclipse this honor in the eyes of the media, my colleagues and the audience. I do not take this lightly, and Mr. Lagerfeld’s generic ‘statement’ of regret for this ‘controversy’ was not an apology. He lied, they printed the lie, and I am still waiting.”
Needless to say, we should not expect to see Meryl wearing Chanel anytime soon.
While stars usually try not to wear the same outfits and accessories as their peers at red carpet events, there was one accessory that numerous stars proudly donned at this year’s Oscars.
On Sunday, several of Hollywood’s biggest stars accessorized their glamorous ensembles with a blue ribbon. The ribbon served as a symbol of support for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). The ACLU works to “defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed by the Constitution and laws of the United States.” Inevitably, the troubling political climate in the States prompted the various stars, who choose to wear the ribbon to the Oscars, to make a statement about their disapproval of some of Trump’s administration’s actions, views and policy changes.
When asked about her blue ribbon, Oscar nominee Lin-Manuel Miranda told the press, “I’m wearing an ACLU ribbon because they’re fighting incredible fights right now for American ideals.”
In addition to Lin-Manuel, some of the other stars who were seen wearing the ribbon included Ruth Negga, Busy Phillips and Karlie Kloss.
Erika Girardi is reportedly bringing her star power to ABC’s reality competition Dancing with the Stars. According to inside sources, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star will be joining the cast of the show’s upcoming 24th season. If you have caught Erika on Real Housewives, you know that she already has experience with performing on stage. In fact, the reality star actually has established herself as an artist within the dance music genre. Performing under her fierce persona Erika Jayne, the star has had several hits rank on the Billboard charts. Just recently, she released the music video for her single “Expensive,” which fans got to see some of the behind-the-scenes action for during an episode of Real Housewives that aired a few weeks back. While Dancing with the Stars’ home network, ABC, has yet to officially announce the cast of season 24, there is already plenty of speculation about which other stars will be competing. Currently, there are rumors that Olympic gymnast Simone Biles will be dancing on the show, as well as an undisclosed member of the girl group Fifth Harmony. Stay tuned for more details about the latest Dancing with the Stars cast! After publicly expressing her support for him throughout his Presidential campaign, transgender reality star Caitlyn Jenner is now second-guessing her backing of US President, Donald Trump. During the second season of her E! reality series I Am Cait, Caitlyn Jenner repeatedly said that she felt Trump would be better for the LGBTQ community than his Democratic counterpart, Hillary Clinton. Inevitably, Caitlyn’s remarks raised a lot of eyebrows, as even some of her closest friends questioned how she could actually support Trump and his controversial views. A few days ago, Trump’s administration announced that they were withdrawing the protection former President Barack Obama put in place to protect transgender students. Shortly after the announcement, Caitlyn took to her Instagram to express her disapproval of Trump’s unfortunate actions. On Thursday, Caitlyn shared a post, in which she wrote, "I have a message for the trans kids of America. You are winning. I know it doesn't feel that way today or every day, but you _ are _ winning. You are going to keep on winning so much you're going to get sick of winning. Very soon, we'll win full freedom nationwide, and it's going to happen with bipartisan support. For all our friends out there, If you want to be part of this winning side, you can help by checking out the National Center for Trans Equality and letting Washington hear how you feel loud and clear.” Caitlyn Jenner, Instagram post: Later in her post, Caitlyn gave a shout-out to young transgender student Gavin Grimm, whose lawsuit against his school district will be unraveling in Supreme Court in late March. Gavin, who identifies as male, filed legal action against his school after he was banned from using the boys’ restroom. Unfortunately, with the withdrawal of Obama’s previous bill, Trump has opened the door to many more unjust situations similar to the one Gavin is having to go through. This week, an announcement that thousands of music fans were hoping they would never hear was made. Early on Thursday, it was officially confirmed that Beyoncé would not be headlining this year’s Coachella. Almost a month ago, the “Formation” songstress announced that she and her husband, Jay Z, are expecting twins. The news of her pregnancy prompted ample speculation, as people wondered how the star would be able to fulfill her Coachella obligations while being several months pregnant. Initially, there were rumors that she was planning an elaborate stage set-up, which would allow her to perform a much less physically demanding concert. However, it has since been revealed that she will not be performing whatsoever. In a statement made to the Associated Press, Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment and festival producer Goldenvoice explained: "Following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months, Beyoncé has made the decision to forgo performing at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. However, Goldenvoice and Parkwood are pleased to confirm that she will be a headliner at the 2018 festival. Thank you for your understanding." While Beyoncé is no longer going to be commanding the stage at Coachella, there are still plenty of big stars on the festival’s roster. Some of the artists who will be performing this year include: Lorde, Bon Iver, Future, Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar. Nonetheless, it is safe to say that fans were incredibly disappointed when they found out they would not be seeing Queen Bey at this year’s Coachella. Radar reported that she pulled out because Jay Z insisted on it. “Jay Z really put his foot down on this,” a source close to the family revealed, adding that workhorse Beyonce, who is expecting twins later this year, still wanted to perform. “The two had it out because she really did not want to let her fans down.” “She knew how much this meant to them, but Jay Z was not having any of it!” Kylie Jenner’s cosmetics line may be facing some familiar competition soon. According to new reports from media outlet TMZ, Kylie’s brother-in-law Kanye West is thinking about starting his own beauty brand. In a new report, TMZ claims that the “Famous” rapper is looking to create a make-up line inspired by his late mother, Donda West. While it has been 10 years since Kanye lost his mother, he continues to look to honor her through his various business ventures and projects. In fact, the artist established his creative company, DONDA, a few years back, which is the company he is planning to expand into the world of cosmetics. Just recently, Kanye filed legal documents, in which he applied for permission to have his DONDA brand develop and sell makeup, perfumes, and various other beauty-related items. While it has yet to be approved, the rapper is clearly serious about diversifying his creative company’s portfolio. Kanye has already proven to be a success in the world of shoes and fashion design; therefore it is likely that he would be able to make a healthy profit with a make-up line as well. Kylie and Kanye have already gotten in a bit of a spat due to business obligations in the past. A while back, Kylie signed a deal to be the brand ambassador for the athletic leisure brand Puma. She signed this deal just a few weeks after Kanye publicly said that she wouldn’t, as it would go against all of the work he had been doing with Adidas. Perhaps Kylie’s betrayal in signing with Puma is part of what triggered Kanye’s sudden interest in creating his own cosmetics line. We will just have to see if this latest venture of Kanye’s actually comes to fruition…
